The crust seemed kinda soggy on the quiche but just not something I'm like rushing to go back for anytime in the near future. I always like to try new breakfast places and I try this for the first time I wasn't impressed. I had the maple bacon pancakes. They were dry as sawdust. You have to use a pint of syrup, the coffee, small cups, lukewarm, and bitter like they got it from the bottom of the kettle or something. read more

Enjoyed our first dinner at The Gilbert House. We had large party and sat outside (outdoor heaters) while listening to live performer, who was amazing--nailed her playlist. I enjoyed their braised short rib, not fatty, lots of flavor--cleaned my plate. Next time I want to try the salmon. The wedge salad looked great, too. Our server was attentive, fun with a bit of sass, perfect for our group. We certainly kept her on her toes. While they grow their dinner crowd, don't be afraid to ask for a cocktail not on the menu, they accommodated request for Old Fashion and it was good. Will definitely go back. read more

I really enjoyed this place. It's a small quaint little restaurant with very good service and exceptionally good food. We came in for breakfast and had the buffalo scramble. Absolutely delicious! I can't wait to comeback and try the buffalo burger they have. Might I also add that they make a mean Bloody Mary. Gilbert House - Never Again! I can't post my review without a star, unfortunately there's no option for a negative star so I'll just make one: -0 * What a disaster. We expected a local gem -- instead, we got canned food on plates. Honestly, it's an insult to Gilbert's locals and visitors in a state known for amazing food and strong support for local businesses. When we arrived, we told the lady at the front we had reservations. She asked if we booked online, and when we said yes, her response was, "Oh, we don't actually have that or use it." Seriously? Then why even offer it? The biscuits and gravy looked and tasted like Pillsbury biscuit dough drowned in Pioneer/McCormick packet gravy. The corned beef hash? Awful. Looked like Libby's corned beef dumped on Great Value frozen hash browns. Even the grilled tuna sandwich at the next table looked sad and unappetizing. Nothing coming out of that kitchen showed any real cooking -- just reheated, pre-made junk. $94.87 for four people, and not a single dish worth finishing. This review is based on trying both a cinnamon and a caramel roll. I have yet to try a meal at The Gilbert House. The cinnamon roll was pretty good. It was a bit chewy, but the flavor was nice. What really made it enjoyable was the cream cheese icing. The caramel roll, on the other hand, was quite disappointing. It was hard everywhere, but the very center, and was pretty dry. Unlike the cinnamon roll, the caramel drizzle on top was not great either. I called in a phone order for 3 cinnamon rolls and 2 caramel rolls to take home. When I got home, I only had 2 and 2, the cost, approx $32. The staff was very friendly both on the phone and in person. The place is very quaint and I will probably go back to try a meal. My final thoughts: Don't waste your money on the caramel roll. read more

My husband said the coffee was just okay. I shared a scramble with my daughter and it was delicious. My husband's eggs benedict dish was again just okay. (Might be because they don't salt their food. Every other place had a 45min - 1 hour wait. I looked online, found this place and they only had a 15 min wait. The food was out in 15 minutes, my waitress was very kind and the food was affordable. Probably one of the worst dining experiences I've had in awhile. I entered my name on the sign in sheet and waited to the side. I noticed we were skipped by a few people so I asked the waitress if we had to go in or if the sign in sheet was sufficient. She just looked at me and said "sign in Sheet" and walked away. I watched as we were skipped AGAIN and decided if the service was this bad outside before sitting than I'm not wasting my time on seeing how it is inside. My girlfriend and I decided to try this spot for brunch. This restaurant is cute and quaint and woman owned. Based on the reviews, I was excited to brunch here. When we arrived, like many others, we had no clue what to do or where to go. I opened the restaurant door expecting someone to greet us but no one acknowledged. I went back out and noticed a clip board that said "sign in here". Again, I wasn't sure what to do and was like ok I guess I sign here. After not being acknowledged for at least 10-15 minutes, my girlfriend asked the the bust boy if there was someone who could help us and tell us what was going on. Mind you, we weren't the only ones unsure of the wait time, if we even did the process right etc. Another 15 minutes or so went by, we hadn't seen the bust boy who was supposed to get help and no one came out so my girlfriend went back in. Finally a woman came out, the owner, she actually told my friend she was inside because it was too hot to be outside although we and several people were outside in the heat waiting for service! I literally heard a woman say her party of 5 had been waiting for 30 mins and when they might be seated and the owner just said she didn't know and people inside weren't moving from their tables. She had no idea of estimated wait time for anyone. Let me say this.. we would have left but this was our 3rd brunch spot we tried and when I called, they told us it was a 10-15 minute wait so we went here.. We finally were seated and then at times it felt like we were being rushed to place our order though it took a long time for us to be acknowledged and seated. Restaurant is extremely noisy since it is small. I will say my French toast, egg whites and mimosa were great. My friend enjoyed had food despite the tomato in her meal still having the supermarket sticker on it. This rating has to do with my experience and first impression. The owner should definitely invest in a hostess and some customer service workshops. I won't be coming back no matter how great the food was. While on Stay Cation Jen & I had breakfast at on of the local farm house location here in Gilbert Az. We've seen it busy on the weekends so thought it would be better try getting in during the week day and it was. I had the Egg Benedict Plate with hash browns, The Egg Benedict wasn't bad however the has browns were a bit on the mushier side and lacked flavor. Jen had the normal breakfast poached eggs, bacon, toast and hash browns again everything was ok except the hash browns. There are still a few more places we want to try but still have our favorites that we go to regularly. read more

Stopped in for a late breakfast mid-week and while busy, service was excellent. We each had an omelette and thought the food was very fresh. It's a cute spot, but the old wood floor are a bit noisy and you definitely feel and hear everyone coming and going. I'd like to come back and try the pancakes. read more

Worst experience of my life after waiting 30 minutes for a table we asked for a manager because they had open tables and were not sitting us but were sitting individuals that got here way after us. Stop making pancakes. You're not good at it. The worst I've ever had. Ordered a full stack buttermilk pancakes (3 cakes, 6" diameter). The cost averages out to $4 each. I'd rather have tacos... or anything else! What was wrong with the pancakes? RUBBERIZED and some dry edges. Hard time cutting through with a metal fork. Didn't need a steak knife but did deploy the metal butter knife. Just think about it. Anywhere (McDonald's even?) makes better pancakes than you do. read more
