Their sweet potato fries are so tasty and almost always made fresh. Since students come here often they're always making a fresh batch. Really yummy with the sweet and sour sauce but just as good on it's own. They give you a lot. Definitely shareable. I just tried their "jacked up carnitas." It taste just like a carnita taco would and in fact I enjoyed it more because I felt good about eating it. The toppings made it feel and taste just like a rack and you forget you're eating jack fruit. Their paninis are also really good. I enjoy the chicken and panini as well as the the three cheese. Both are delicious. Prices are kind of expensive but they give you an ample amount of food. Except the tacos but it's understandable since jack fruit is expensive. The only downside about this place is often times there is a bit of a wait during lunch hours due to all the students but if you come at a slower time around after two then there is no wait at all. read more

Whenever I go to school in the morning and don't feel like something sweet, I always have the breakfast ham, egg and cheese panini. On lunch days where I wanna mix it up, I have the tuscan chicken with the edemame (I don't like the taste sweet potatoes in general ahaha that's why I dont get the fries). I've honestly never had a panini before until coming here. Gotta say though, the flavors come together really well. You can really tell that everything is fresh. Eh, this place is alright if you're like me and was too lazy to walk off campus to get some lunch. I ordered the Tuna Melt with sweet potatoes fries and there wasn't anything special about it. The fries were the best part of my meal and my melt was just alright, a bit too juicy for my liking. This healthy joint is located at CSUF is being run by a bunch of morons. I wonder if they actually go to school here because they have the IQ of a doorknob! So the first time I went there to order a wrap I asked if the yogurt they were topping it off with was also vegan since the item had the vegan logo on the menu. They said yes and I was stoked thinking that it was a soy yogurt they had added mint to. But then I figured I should taste it before they poured it ALL over my wrap to make sure it tasted good. I receive my little sample size and the taste was so NOT soy. I asked the guy what they had made the yogurt with and he said he didn't know. I went to another person and asked her and she first had to think about it with a dumb blank stare drifting through her eyes and then jumped up to say, "yogurt and mint!" I am actually surprised that I didn't smack her aside the head. SO I asked her why they said it was vegan and she then had to go get her manager which was pathetic because a simple answer would have been, "because we are morons." The manager came over and then told me, "I see that you wanted yogurt on your wrap but it won't be vegan if you want us to put it on the wrap." No Shit. But the food was really good so I gave them 2nd, 3rd, and 4th chances. But they remained excruciatingly dumb. I enjoy vegan and gluten free food, that is the reason why I tried this on campus. The food was good too. Workers are nice. The only issue I have is wait times. I ordered a meatless sandwich and it took 20-30 minutes to do. 8 people after me was served first. I patiently waited. Yet I wonder if a Karen order food and wait in the future, the workers may have to deal with them. I suggest having at least three workers in the front, one as a cashier and two people working on orders. There's a one person who was a cashier and also a food maker. I'm assuming the other food maker is also a cook in the back because he keeps going back and forth. Overall, I just think sandwiches should be done 5-15 minutes and have the food orders in sync. read more

As promised I got out of class early enough to try some of their breakfast items. I had their ham, cheese and egg panini. It took quite some time but it was worth it. The panini could have used just a bit of ground pepper but that might be because I am a pepper monkey. There were two whole boiled eggs sliced with several pieces of thinly sliced ham with cheese. The panini wasn't too filling but satisfied my breakfast craving. Think of it as a mc muffin but take out the muffin and substitute for pita bread. The eggs are organic and definitely could taste a difference. Next time I will try their french toast and my taste buds are excited. Hands down the best place to eat on campus. I work in College Park, so my lunch options are limited to Habit/Which Wich/Flame Broiler, Pepe's or various campus eateries. After going to school here and then working here for 6 years, the campus food hasn't changed much, but this place is new to me. I think it is kind of funny that people are bitching about the price. Your options in the food court are pretty similar. If you want to pay $5.00, go get a heatlamp pizza. Baja Fresh averages $7 (that is for the stuff you CAN identify the price for) and honestly Chipotle/Pepe's is better if you have the time to walk and Panda Express is $5.99 for a one item bowl. So um, price? Whaaaaat? I got the chicken panini with the spinach and artichoke sauce and provolone cheese. I am not normally a fan of sweet potato fries, but they were the most appealing of the side options. The portion is HUGE, the food is FRESH, the packaging is sustainable and recyclable. Home run right there. Oh yeah and the food is really tasty too, let's not forget that. This place is worth the walk on a windy day. read more

I used to eat here about once a week. I don't anymore, mostly because I'm not on campus as much as I used to be, but I still think it's definitely the best place to eat on campus. It's really the only thing I can eat without regretting it immediately. They seem to have a pretty good variety, though I've never gotten more than four different things (creature of habit). I usually get the spinach salad (the portion on this is HUGE), their Tuscan chicken melt, or the tortilla soup (very delicious! and comes with pita bread). They also give you a choice of apple, edamame, or sweet potato fries with your sandwich, which I like. Sweet potato fries on your "good" days, edamame for your fat ones... Overall, YES, they are pricey. BUT so is everywhere else, so comparatively speaking: 4 stars. p.s. I believe they use sustainable packaging. read more

My goal was to try every single place in the TSU before I graduate and this was my last one! I get here early to get parking so I thought why not stop in and order some breakfast. I got chocolate chip pancakes and a hash brown. The pancakes were served with butter and syrup on the side and were very tasty. The pancakes just melted in my mouth. The hash brown was crunchy and just the way I like it! They use organic ingredients but the prices are great. My total came out to $7.89 but I also bought a milk too! Wow, first time here and I always passed it but it never looked appealing. Today I figured to actually stare and read the menu. I am a picky eater so I couldn't really find something to my liking. I walked up to the counter and the nice young lady helped me to choose something. I simply told her I wanted something with chicken and she suggested the chicken panini. I enjoy this place very much except their serving sizes are very inconsistent. I order the Asian power protein bowl, which is very delicious. However, some days the bowl will be filled to the very top, and some days it will be half the size. I don't think it's worth paying $7.25 for the bowl to be half full. The morning cook almost gave away my food to someone else (Visit: Feb 13th). I understand you're working a solo, but at least stay organized with your orders. I ordered an Organic Egg and a Hashbrown and then a male student ordered an Organic Egg as well after me. She called it out handed it out to him, but I told her "Isn't that mine, because I ordered before him?" She then realized she messed up and said to him "Yours is coming up." The Fresh Kitchen is located in the Titan Student Union and is just about the only place in there I enjoy eating at. Like the previous reviewers have stated, the Fresh Kitchen offers healthy meals that do not sacrifice taste. So far I've only had the Tuscan Chicken panini, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. It also came with a side of sweet potato fries which were awesome. The price is reasonable and the meals are pretty satisfying. I haven't ordered anything else on their menu, but hope to go back and do so soon! read more
