A surprising vegan find in downtown Fullerton! The restaurant inside is cozy and vibrant, with a variety of menu items including tortas, tacos, quesadillas, and breakfast items. The lady at the front gave us a breakdown of the flavor profiles of the proteins, and shared her favorite menu items. Since it was taco tuesday, we opted to try all the taco flavors and our favorites were the jackfruit carnitas and al pastor. The smoky medium salsa was a perfect complement to the sweeter flavors of the taco proteins.
First time coming here, will NOT be my last. Ordered three tacos, 1 al pastor, 1 asada, and 1 carnitas. The Al pastor had the most flavor of the three, but they were all great and served with a hearty portion of meat. Got the potato taquitos as well and they were good too, very simple in execution and so delicious! The California burrito was phenomenal as well! Great portions for all three dishes, they were shared between two people and we left stuffed and practically didn't eat the rest of the day from how filling it was. The employee at the front was sweet and the food came out quickly. Prices were also extremely reasonable, all the vegan spots I had previously gone to tended to be a little more expensive just due to the nature, but this place had great prices for the portion sizes, that alone will have me back. The restaurant itself is small but they had plenty of tables to compensate - didn't feel cramped whatsoever. Whether you're vegan, vegetarian, or simply wanting to try out plant-based spot, I'm pretty certain there's nothing on the menu that WOULDN'T be delicious. I'll be back soon enough!
I'm obsessed! The service was outstanding, and the woman behind the counter answered all of my questions with so much patience and kindness. Ambience is quiet and neutral perfect for a quick bite by yourself or with someone. As someone who doesn't eat red meat, this place has quickly become one of my favorite spots for nachos. The food tastes authentic and packed with flavor. The portion sizes are great for the price, big enough to share with someone else. I'll definitely be coming back.
Holy, I think this was probably the best I've had from here! PARKING: there is street parking in front of the restaurant but it's a high traffic kinda area so we usually don't park there. I like to utilize the lot nearby since it's walking distance (3 minutes tops.) There is a wide selection of food here, from burgers to burritos to tacos -- they have a great selection! I saw they recently added some meatball soup and posole. I will definitely have to return to give that a try. I usually stick to the burgers with an impossible patty and can I just say they are exceptional! Well seasoned and delicious. I usually stick with my cali dreamin burger but that breakfast burger was absolutely delicious. It had a perfectly crisp hash brown :) Service was a bit more reserved today but I'm not complaining here. Absolutely love Cheyenne and the other worker with curly hair (I forgot her name but she has an autism badge of some sort.) They always make my day with their great service! We came at a good time. It was quiet and peaceful. The tables were cleaned and they recently added a self serve station!! Absolutely love that. By far, one of my favorite vegan places to frequent :) highly recommend this place.
Chicana is a downtown Fullerton eatery serving up vegan tacos, burritos, burgers, and more. Parking in DTF is always hit and miss, but you might get lucky and score a spot right out front on Commonwealth, or more likely in the parking lot right behind the restaurant. The inside is a little on the small side, but there are several tables, as well as two bar shaped tables facing the front window, which makes for good people watching. The walls are decorated nicely with a large colorful mural on one wall, and the other with greenery and Veganland spelled out in Hollywood sign letters. Both walls feature their superhero character. They also have a small patio with several tables behind the building. I stopped by to place and wait for a to-go order for my girlfriend. Jocelynn was at the register and was very friendly. When my order was ready, she brought it out to the table where I was sitting and waiting. I brought home an al pastor taco and two jackfruit carnitas tacos ($3.75 each), the kale salad ($7.95), and some extra salsa. I didn't taste any of the food myself, but she loved it all and said it was five stars all the way.
Met up with my friends here for a few reasons.... I'm Vegan, we needed somewhere where pets can hangout with us and it was pretty much between where we live. Please note "pet friendly" doesn't mean you can bring pets inside even just to order food....technically that is the law even though some places let you order and leave with food if you bring a pet.... They have a back small courtyard area to eat and you can bring your dogs out that way....I got a breakfast burrito and it was really good and I would highly recommend that as a choice to eat....my friends got tacos, ramen and another got the breakfast burrito as well.... Everything was really good and what I wanted....I'm glad I finally made it out to try this place....even if you aren't Vegan give it a chance!

I bring my non-vegan/vegetarian friends here and they love it too. The food quality is high and the portions are big. They are a tiny bit pricey (I'm sure their rent is insane here), but it's worth it to support a small business. I've always gotten great service when I went in and the place always looks really clean. I would eat here weekly if I could.
I want to call this the best vegan Mexican food, but really, it's simply the best vegan food PERIOD!!! This is one of the rare spots that I can bring my non-vegan peers - it really is that good! Today, we tried the potato taquitos, signature al pastor + carnitas fries, and strawberry crumble cake :)
Very disappointed with this experience. While the food initially tasted great, I was shocked to find a hair in my burger after eating more than half of it. Finding hair in food is completely unacceptable and immediately made me feel sick to my stomach. I had no choice but to throw the rest of the meal away. It's frustrating because I was enjoying the food, but this raised serious concerns about cleanliness and quality control. A situation like this should never happen, and it completely ruined my experience. I hope management takes food safety and kitchen hygiene more seriously moving forward.
Sooooo good!!!!! This was my second time coming here. My husband's first time. I was so excited to come back! The food here is amazing! One of the best vegan food restaurants. I absolutely love the Calibaerito (cali burrito vegan style). It is so filling and delicious! It's loaded with lots of fries. Next time I will do extra cheese on the burrito. I also ordered the supreme fries. Those were huge with a ton of fries! I did asada for the fries and the Cali burrito. The supreme fries were top notch! So good!! You just have to eat it fast before the fries get soggy lol I also tried an Al pastor taco. It was okay. I don't think I like the Al pastor meat. I'd order a taco again, but do the asada meat for protein. My husband had the mushroom burger and animal style French fry. He loved both. The animal style French fry was a huge hit for him. He enjoyed the mushroom burger too. This was a win all around! Service was good. They are very friendly and kind people. I love this place! We will be back. :)

Service is good and the ambiance is a nice spot with friends, there are several tables, but its not a huge spot. Order at the screen or with the staff at the counter. They opened a coffee area too, but it was closed by 11:30am, before the food service begins at 12pm.
Omg omg omg, super duper fantastically delicious! My friend and I popped in for lunch because I remember hearing about the Crack tacos. We ended up ordering and sharing: 1. Pozole verde - I wanted a whole vat it's so yum. Didn't need the lime squeeze but it lifted it because it had so much in it. 2. Crack tacos - Oh man it's been a while but they taste like jack in the crack tacos I remember lol #nostalgia 3. Sopes w/carnitas and asada - I'm a sucker for a good sope. Hard to beat the crisp "container" and rich creamy and crunchy fillings. 4. Animaless fries - ok hello seasoned fries! Perfect replica creamy deliciousness. 5. Chilequiles - this is how I judge a spot and A1! I had a lil leftover which was amazing the next day, whoohoo It was a weekday lunch so there was some street spots on Commonwealth, plus plenty in the lot but I can see it getting busy. We ordered on the screen where you order yourself and sat in the back where they brought us the food. The tables and chairs in the back have decent spacing. Definitely will return if I'm in the area
Chicana I wanna... eat more lol My gf is vegetarian and they have all vegan foods which makes my life so much easier bc I am an omnivore so it's a good plant-based alternative for me. My favorite is the mexigogi taco bc the sauce and the way they cook their "meat" didn't make me feel like I knew I was eating vegan food. They have burritos, burgers, fries, nachos, and tacos with some dessert options. I'm glad there's a Mexican food place for vegetarians bc I feel bad they my gf has limited choices at most Mexican restaurants that don't have a good protein base. Service was quick for pick up and there's a few tables inside to eat. 10/10 would recommend. read more
Really cute vibe inside with a colorful mural on one wall and greenery and. A sign on the other wall. One girl here was awesome- so nice and sweet and worked hard to keep the restaurant clean. And was sooo attentive when we had questions or needed anything. The girl taking our order was okay..not helpful as it was our first time here. I got the mexgogi burrito. I Was really excited to try a vegan Korean fusion burrito....buuuut... Was really disappointed...lacked flavor. I didn't even taste a lot of the ingredients and it was a tad dry. The green salsa they serve on the side helped give it some flavor. The bulgogi was tasty but since the pieces were so small, the bland rice and beans took over. Total bummer. I did taste the jalapeño but not a ton of siracha eel sauce or cucumbers. (I forgot cucumbers were even in it...) Seats aren't all that comfy...soo prolly best to get it to go. If give it another shot...just order something else. read more

Pretty good spot for an all-vegan Mexican eatery! I got the Mexigogi fries which had a lot of flavor and they didn't skimp on anything! The portion size was big enough to last me 2 meals. The fries were well balanced between crispy and fluffy. The vegan bulgogi was slightly sweet, as bulgogi should be! They perhaps could've given a little more of the vegan cheese and other sauce, but overall it was good! This past Sunday afternoon there was a very sweet woman who said it was her 2nd day on the job and she provided great customer service! Very happy and quick to help! read more

We wanted to eat somewhere with fast food service and saw this place that looked promising. I'm not a big fan of vegan food but I ordered the California burrito which includes French fries inside. They offer mild chili salsa to add to the burrito and I must say the food was very tasty. The fries are nice and crispy and the flavoring is so good. There are plenty of selfie opportunities inside and outside the restaurant. read more

i absolutely love chicana vegana and ive been back about 4-5 times, their fries are so saucy crispy and LOADED UP their fries are more seasoned and crispy than other places, or at least this recent batch. i personally was a little underwhelmed this time since the previous times the portion was way bigger. the toppings were really seasoned though, that jackfruit was absolutely spectacular and amazing. inside the store i think the ac was broken so it was really hot and a bit uncomfortable, however the wonderful server was so kind and she explained every item to us with so much patience haha, definitely appreciate that! read more

A friend had recommended this spot a few weeks ago and we recently went to check it out. The place was rather small inside, but they have a really cute patio in the back with plenty of extra seating. I've never had vegan Mexican food before but this place hit the spot, everything was SO good. Fast and very friendly service too. Can't wait to visit again next time I'm in the area. read more

Had to make the trek out here to try the Jax Crispy Tacos, wanted to see if I could relive my youth (the days when my body could take a beating with greasy food and I was ignorant of the horrors of factory farming). Glad to say the tacos delivered, I had no stomach pain, and my conscience is clear! Had the tacos and some animaless fries. Spouse got the Cali-Bae burrito. Food was good, service was great. Knocking off one star because they could not tell me for sure if any desserts were soy-free, as their book with ingredients only says "dairy free milk". Please get more specific and I'll change my rating. Soy is such a common allergen that not knowing can put some at risk. read more

Love love loved this place today. My husband and I came in and shared the Cali burrito, chili Mac, and fries. Everything was so good! We ordered extra sauces on the side and the sour cream and habanero aioli were our faves. Jocelyn helped us out and was so kind and answered all of our questions. She checked up on us and so did Sam! My husband, baby, and I enjoyed our lunch in the little patio area which was so perfect. Thanks for awesome lunch and great service! read more

Went here on a Sunday around lunch time and it was a little busy but with how busy it was, the food came out pretty quick. Also the person taking our order was very friendly. I ordered the Wild West Burger & Fries! I thoroughly enjoyed the burger! The combination of the impossible patty, bacon, onion rings, and bacon was very flavorful. The bacon was cooked just right and the onion rings were very crispy. The bbq sauce added a nice sweet and tangy touch to it. Will definitely be back to try other things on their menu! read more
Came here on a whim because we were waiting in line for a business nearby. Located within Downtown Fullerton. There are a few tables to sit in inside. There's parking behind the building. This place has all things vegan. They got different types of Mexican food including tacos, burritos, agua Fresca, etc. we got two different kinds of burrito. Okay, we kinda ordered the whole menu lol. We were hungry to say the least, but my son and I usually order two entrees each and share both to get to taste the difference between the flavors. We usually take a lot of leftovers home, and our leftovers can last a day or two. My son's favorite was the carne asada burrito with fries, and mine was the tacos that tasted just like Jack in the Box tacos. Those tacos were the BOMB! I mean...I thought that since becoming Vegan I would never be able to taste my favorite taco again, but it was heaven!! Ty for making my day Chicana Vegana! With Chicana Vegana being conveniently located right next to the Fullerton Metrolink station, the two of us wandering vegans had to check it out. We phoned in a pickup order and the food was ready in 5-10 minutes. First, the chili cheese dog ($8.75). I believe this is limited edition, and it's not even listed on the menu on the TV display. It was fantastic. It's exactly what you'd expect from a chili cheese dog. Chili, vegan cheddar cheese, and chopped red onions messily poured onto an impossible hot dog with a brioche bun. It was so good. I dislike the majority of vegan hot dog brands such as Field Roast, but Impossible always gets you right. And it was only $8.75! Next, the Biscoff Cupcake. I was WOWED. The Biscoff flavor really shines. It tastes just like the cookie, but in the form of a juicy cupcake. This is probably THE best cupcake I've ever had. read more
Solid vegan place!! I love the variety of options and that they focus on Mexican dishes! Between the Mexgogi Classico & El Classico burritos, I enjoyed El Classico the most. The canned taste of the beans hinders the burritos, but if you can get past that, they're both pleasant! For that reason, next time I'd order with light beans & extra cilantro & onion. The red (?) salsa I got with the burritos elevated the experience! The location is cute, service is friendly and efficient. Parking is convenient considering this location is in downtown! read more

You know I'm not a vegan but this place is actually really really good. My favorite was the carnitas tacos. It tasted almost like the real thing. The French fries for mexgogi fries were so crispy! And I tried the chile de arbol hot sauce and it was quite tasty and has a nice kick . The place itself was small but quite cute. And the service was quick and efficient. read more

So incredibly delicious!! We tried the horchata, carne asada burrito, street tacos (carne asada, carnitas, al pastor, and Mexgogi), and the tres leches cake. Everything was amazing, but the Al pastor and tres leches were our favorite!! Wish I tried this place sooner and will definitely be back for more! Service was also lovely and prompt! My pickup order was ready upon arrival and the young lady who assisted me was welcoming and had attention to detail. Bravo, Chicana Vegana! read more

Hi all of our proteins including: asada, jackfruit carnitas al pastor and Mexgogi are gluten free. Signature fries can be made gf by request and SOME burgers can be gluten free if you do protein style (bun less) we may get gf buns in the future.
