This past Saturday I was looking for a good restaurant in the area while visiting a friend. We read reviews and this sounded really great! From the time, walking through the doors we were greeted by friendly staff. We arrived at a good time, before 9 AM which made it possible to get a table without a wait. I suggest getting there early because it really fills up. I understand why it does now because it was a superb experience! I ordered a cappuccino and a fresh squeezed orange juice, avocado toast with egg on rye bread and the traditional pancakes with butter and real maple syrup. Blew away my expectations! Everything was done perfectly and delicious. Robert our waiter was very attentive to my friends details on how he liked his pancakes. They came out piping hot. I spoke to the owner's father who used to be the deli owner in the spot where this restaurant is now. What a nice guy. I complimented him on the decorations paying homage to Edison at its history and how lovely it was that they used old coffee bean bags as decor in the bathroom. I highly recommend this place and I look forward to trying it for lunch someday soon. read more

Cute place! Not much of a long wait on a Saturday afternoon. I got French toast and the quinoa avocado scramble. The French toast was average, I wouldn't recommend. I loved the quinoa avocado scramble so much! The prices were pretty reasonable too! read more

This was my first visit and I certainly plan to return when I'm in the area. I had the pancakes, which were both light and tasty. The menu says that they are served with strawberries, but they gladly accommodated my request to substitute blueberries. The real maple syrup made this even better. Each person in our party of six had a different dish, and all reported that they liked what they had. The place is small, but clean and attractive. read more

Every sandwich I've tried is made perfectly, and my go-to is the Mac Cadillac burger. Detoured after reading reviews and it was the culinary highlight of our trip. Great gluten free, vegan and vegetarian options. We had a gf Caprese- fantastic, the Cali egg sandwich- "best egg sandwich" and the Cadillac Mac- a vegetarian mock up of the Big Mac with much better ingredients. I have never had a better vegetarian burger. Excellent locally roasted coffee and great baked goods sealed the deal. We talked later with one of the owners who took over his parent's old school deli and made it a vegetarian destination. Looking forward to our next detour here! read more

Been here four times so far the food quality is consistent they even make me my own platter which isn't on the menu however I've tried three sandwiches on the menu and all where literally perfect! The owner and his wife make everyone feel at home and the nitro harry is a must definitely by far the best cafe in Edison or South Plainfield great food great coffee and welcoming. I love to get their Cali sandwich. It's avocado and ham and egg and greens all in one! The best part is biting through the sandwich is always easy. Your teeth slices through each layer consistently, and you don't get the awkward situation where a piece of ham is bitten incompletely and hanging out. Stopped by for lunch today and picked up one of their lunch specials to go. I was greeted by the staff, who were helpful in recommending a few items off the menu. I ordered the portabello bomb sandwich with a chai tea latte. Both were great and they definitely dont skimp out on the lunch portion. This delightful breakfast/lunch option is a little tucked away, and is a hidden gem. It's family owned with an inviting interior and delicious menu. This is a particularly great option for my GLUTEN FREE peeps out there, Celiacs and intolerance. They have gluten free bread for sandwiches and can even make gluten free pancakes in the morning! One of the owners/staff came up to me and asked about my gluten allergy, sharing about his experience due to his wife's allergy. It was nice to have this personal touch as well as the sensitivity about a food sensitivity. I had the turkey bacon avocado club and it was delicious! Sandwiches are filling and come with chips and a small salad with an AMAZING dressing. I ordered food to go, but there's nice indoor and outdoor seating available. Well I miss the ol Sunnyside so I had to try it. Different but cool vibe. Def more coffeehouse/ restaurant then the deli setup from the Sunnyside days. I had to B E.C. I walked into to a beautiful rustic grey new age decorated cafe, greeted by the warmest barista/counter person, who kindly explained how to order first, self seat, and offered genuinely to help me with my order. I ordered the breakfast sandwich Belly Buster w/ a side of hash browns and a light roast coffee. My goodness we're the hash browns perfectly cut, seasoned, and served nice and hot. The breakfast sandwich was made super fresh, with what seemed like wonderfully graded bacon, pork roll, and egg. The texture of the bread was so well balanced with airy crunch, and perfect density.
