Passion fruit juice - A tall glass filled with orange passion fruit juice, garnished with fresh mint leaves, placed on a wooden table at a restaurant.

This is a nice and quaint vegan restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating. They have a pretty extensive menu and inviting decor. The staff is really nice and the food was delicious. I would definitely recommend this restaurant as I will go again as try a few more items. Great find.

    Beet tower

Pros: I tried the beet tower, loaded baked sweet potatoes, and the roasted cauliflower. All of the food was above average! I would suggest each dish I tried. Consistent across the board. The owner and young lady working the front were both very friendly. The owner sounded passionate about what she does and happy to be serving plant based food- with menu items fitting someone looking for comfort food or more healthy options. Cons: Looking at the menu items and prices online beforehand I did expect a higher end restaurant upon entering. I was surprised to see what appears as more of a pickup or delivery type restaurant featuring about 4 tables. The prices are too high for a very small restaurant featuring no more than a few tables and being non-organic. The entree portions could also be about 1.5x as big to make up for the high prices, the entrees specifically I ordered were medium to smaller in size.

Service and ambiance is very clean and quiet. It was my first time coming here & I thought it to be really welcoming! I was expecting more of a grab and go situation but that was not the case! There is indoor seating and a few outside. I got the loaded nachos and potatoes to split along with the watermelon mint mocktail. The drink was refreshing but I think I need to come back for their lunch options!

Most delicious drinks- iced matcha and hot chocolate were sooo good. The iced matcha in particular had the cutest presentation! Hot chocolate tasted like horchata which was so flavorful. Really cozy indoor space & Owner was so sweet and friendly. Definitely coming back to try the food!!!

This will sound extremely cliche, but truly RUN, not walk, to this place before it gets blown up by Instagram or Tiktok! This is a small local business in Metuchen that is genuinely the best vegan food I have ever had. As a very picky meat-eater with a family just as picky as I am, I was surprised when my parents came here with some vegetarian friends and actually enjoyed their dinner. The food prices do match what is expected from a vegan food restaurant, so not a budget meal option, but for a meal out of the house, these treats are flavorful and worth their price! We got the loaded nachos, corn on the cob, and fried oyster mushrooms. The fried oyster mushrooms are a MUST HAVE! I am not sure what is in that seasoning, but it truly is one of the top dishes I have ever eaten. Corn on the cob has a nice, light char and a spicy mayo-like sauce. Loaded nachos were what you typically expected. Iced coffee was soooo cute with a little bear-shaped ice cube! Oat milk is definitely the way to go with it. The owner is an absolute sweetheart who is perfectly happy to guide you through the menu or offer recommendations if you are new to vegan food like I am. Warning: This place is small, so you should definitely come by before everyone knows about it!

This was my first time here and it did not disappoint. The food was delicious and the service was great. It's a small place so I would suggest making a reservation if you go during the weekend.

I have nothing but good things to say about this up and coming restaurant. It is a little further down from the main drag but we'll worth the walk. I thoroughly enjoyed their home made vegetable soup. It was so flavorful and was just all around super delightful. We ordered mostly appetizers since we wanted to try everything. The oyster appetizer on a pretzel bun was our second favorite. The food came out fresh and hot. Everything was perfect. The restaurant is super cute and the owner was so pleasant. It's byob and also has out door seating for the nicer weather days.

My wife and I stopped by Reds Leaf Cafe after driving by and we are so happy we did! Friendly, great atmosphere, and most importantly amazing food. The lions mane dish was so good and paired well with their watermelon drink. Service was quick, portions were good, and food was so good. Will be back!

Kabob - Two vegetable and meat skewers with grilled peppers, onions, and meat, served on a white plate with green sauce drizzle.

Wow! What can I say about the best vegan food I've had in New Jersey the atmosphere in this place is so cool and modern. The food is exquisite! I travel for work so I try alot of vegan food across the country and world wide and everything about this place from the presentation down to the immaculate seasoning this place is a home run. Do yourself a favor and come by. The staff and owner are also amazing. Nataly is so nice and she'll make sure you're well taken care of. This place is a diamond in the ruff here in Jersey!

O-M-G. Red's Lead Cafe was simply perfect! I highly recommend this spot for vegans and carnivores as well who have a pallet for simply delicious and healthy food. The beet towers were not what I expected, but oh how little faith I had. The atmosphere is quaint but alive with soooo much style, energy, and life. The music is upbeat and fun. The beautiful lady who served us was so sweet and fun. She was just as excited as us and that made it all the more personal. Just go now!

Ambience of the restaurant was bright and natural - Hexagonal wooden shelves with potted plants are mounted on a white wall in a cafe, creating a decorative display.

Highly recommended Red's Leaf Cafe. The food is delicious and flavorful. One of the best plant Based meals I have ever had. They use fresh organic ingredients. The bright and natural ambience and courteous customer service was also a plus. The owner was so welcoming and kind. I'm sure everything on the menu is great but we tried the Beet tower (so good) , mushroom sliders, soup and savory sweet potato. All were amazingly seasoned and we loved the attention to detail with added fresh garnish. I will surely be back. Thank you Red's!!

This new vegan spot you gotta try right on Main Street in Metuchen is called Reds Leaf Cafe .With its cozy relaxed atmosphere, you can eat in,take out,or even sit outside. The food won't disappoint! The menu delicious!I wanted to order everything! The food was so fresh, the portions size was great and the presentation was delightful...go check it out for yourself!!!! I have been vegan for decades, and I have eaten at the fanciest restaurants across New York City and I have never eaten food this delicious in my life. We found this little gem quite by accident when our initial choice for a restaurant turned out to be a dump. We did a Google search and found this amazing place. It's tiny, but we were greeted warmly. The atmosphere is welcoming and even though it is tiny, it has the feel of an actual restaurant. We tried three different appetizers, and I couldn't even begin to choose which one I liked best. Our entrées were delicious as well. Even if you are not vegan, you should come and have some of the most delicious food you will ever eat. The owner is very sweet and has personally creates all of the recipes for the food she serves... Absolutely phenomenal... I am switching my birthday plans and coming back here... Awesome place.

My only note is they didn't add any butter to my toast, something I usually expect when I order breakfast plates. But since they charged me extra for ordering some garlic mayonnaise, I assumed they'd charge me if I asked for butter. Staff was attentive and kind, upsold us to the max. If you know, you know. The pastries here are absolutely worth the detour--and honestly, wherever I see a Paris Baguette, I do pull over. That includes locations I've visited in Northern California, North Brunswick, New Jersey, Atlanta, Georgia, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and even the one here in Charlotte down in Pineville. It's a bit of a drive for me, but when I'm in that area, I always make a point to stop in and pick up a couple of their delicious croissant-donut pastries and marzipan or almond croissants. That's the beauty of this bakery--it's a chain, yes, but the consistency is what keeps me coming back. I have yet to be disappointed. Of course, I had to stop at this Hilton Head location--and I didn't come empty-handed. Food connects people, and bringing pastries to your host is always a winning move. I picked up three different varieties of their famous croissant-donut style pastries (similar to the well-known cronut): * Chocolate * Tiramisu * Mango And I added two large almond croissants that were beautifully filled, flaky, and indulgent. Everything looked fresh, full, and irresistible. The setup inside is easy and efficient. It's self-serve: you grab a tray, line it with parchment, use the tongs, and select whatever catches your eye--from baguettes to cakes to coffee drinks. Checkout was quick, Apple Pay was accepted, and the whole experience felt smooth and well organized. The space was clean, friendly, and inviting, with plenty of outdoor seating. Bottom line: Whenever you see a Paris Baguette on your radar, pull over. It's dependable, delicious, and perfect for picking up pastries to share--or to treat yourself. For me, it's one of those rare places that delivers the same quality every single time, no matter the city--and that kind of consistency is something I truly appreciate as a traveler and lifelong foodie.

It was at night on a Saturday so many of the shelves were empty but they still had a few things left. Sunmerry appears to be a chain but one that I have never visited before until now so I can't really comment on what they have, but I did manage to grab: MATCHA CLOUD DONUT - This reminded me vaguely of the im donut donuts I tried in NYC. Very soft and pillowy and filled to the brim with a lightly sweet, matcha filling. I honestly don't have anything negative to say about this. RED BEAN MATCHA BAGEL - it's a matcha dough with red bean filling BUT the filling doesn't go all the way around. It goes maybe 65% so if you're splitting this with someone like I did, fingers crossed you both get a decent amount. The bagel was soft and in a bagel shape but it lacked the chew of a bagel. The filling was nice and different but the matcha taste was subtle - if that. Overall, liked the idea, but I wanted more of a bagel chew than what I got and to taste the matcha better. Maybe even have a more even share of the red bean. COFFEE BRIOCHE LOAF - my husband liked this one! Which is good because I got it for him. This is quite good. Soft, lightly sweet with a coffee top. We ate this maybe 12 hours after and much of the top layer had "melted" and gotten on the cellophane but it was still delicious. Perfection. I definitely scraped off the coffee bits from the cellophane so it didn't go to waste. PINEAPPLE BUN W/ MILK - I grabbed this one thinking there was a filling inside and there wasn't. I don't know if the bun was placed in the wrong location or the name is telling me the bun isn't vegan but it's a good pineapple bun but without anything inside, it was a tad dry. Maybe it needs a pat of butter like they do in HK. MELON PAN - I haven't had this in a good long while so I got it for fun. It's smaller than the pineapple bun and the topping is a little sweeter - I remember crunching on sugar crystals. It's not bad but also not filled so it's a tiny bit on the dry side. The place has tables to the side where you can enjoy your goodies. I didn't stay too long but they definitely serve drinks and delicious cakes as well. The staff were nice and the place seemed on the dim side. Fingers crossed I can go back during the day to get a better idea of what they have! In the meantime, this is a good place for an Asian bakery fix. They do list out ingredients under the names of their baked goods so that's awesome! From what I could see, their baked goodies are likely not vegan or gluten-free friendly, though...
