I stopped there for a quick vegan lunch the place was in a strip mall, it was a bit dirty inside with no other customers. The service was good and they made the wrap quickly however it didn't seem that fresh and it was oily. It tasted pretty good as the seitan was deep fried but again not healthy vegan food. The fries seemed like ones you'd get frozen and deep fry them.

Kung Pao fusion and banana avocado shake

Was out and about and wanted a quick bite. I stumbled upon this restaurant on my way and decided to try it out. I was very pleasantly surprised. The flavor of the Kung Pao was divine and the meal was cooked to perfection. I asked for extra spicy and they added a nice kick to it. Albeit not as spicy as I truly like they managed to pack enough heat to satisfy my cravings whilst keeping the integrity of the plate. I have mixed feelings about the shake since the flavor was very soft, but it was enjoyable all the same. I am not vegan or vegetarian, but this place was definitely great and will be coming back again.

Vegan Tree, a local gem in a small plaza, offers a warm, homely atmosphere. Their spicy vegan curry is my go-to comfort meal--rich, flavorful, and perfectly spiced. Service is always good. Highly recommend!

what a great spot for a hearty meal. everything we tried was phenomenal-- the hotpot soup and the scallion pancakes were by far the stars of the show. they even have vegan desserts here! one small change i may make is to add an incense or something. as they share a wall with a smoke shop next door, it inevitably makes the restaurant smell like smoke too. the incense could help dissipate the smell a bit. all in all, i will be back!

Not that many cegan restaurants around. I ordered the cheese steak and OOOMMMGGG...it was the best! I did not taste like a Philly cheese steak, from what I can remember it taste like, this has a teriyaki spin to it and it was DEE-LISH-SHHUS. Couldn't give 5 stars...I paid $1 for the cheese and I wanted it on the side..a baby spoon had more cheese...fill the little condiment cup at least half way. It came with seasoned fries...unless over cooked is a seasoning...there was no seasoning at all. The smoke shop next door makes you want to leave ASAP..kinda sad. Probably why they don't invest in decor inside. But I will definitely go again.

    Onion pedals with vegan ranch

Vegan or not, just give them a try. This is our favorite vegan place around because they don't need to overall their food to give it flavor. There is nothing we have ordered that we didn't enjoy. Our favs: fried rice is amazing, scallion pancake with chili dipping sauce a must, onion pedals, fries, hot pot, dumplings, (they need to add the dumplings soup to uber eats or door dash, you can't order it for take out), falafel sandwich it perfect, 'chicken' Nuggets. Wishes.. the seitan beef is a bit too chewy. In both the beef and broccoli and particularly on the cheesesteak sandwich, when you bite into the sandwich it all comes off the roll because it's so chewy (great rolls for the sammies by the way, please don't change them). Not sure if it can be made more tender but that would be our wish :-). Also wish we could order the dumpling soup for delivery on Uber Eats or DD. Lastly, REALLY hope you add soup dumplings, dan dan noodles made with beyond beef and sesame or peanut We might order everyday if you did!

This is the best vegan food I've ever had. I've been to vegan spots in nyc, PA, NJ and varying spots on the west coast. Nothing compares to Vegan Tree. This food is unreal and has a signature flavor. So perfectly crafted and delicious. I seriously cannot believe how good this food is. My boyfriend and I can't resist this place. You need to go here!!! The service is amazing and they never mess up my order and they're so sweet. I love this restaurant

Wonderful little find that's off the beaten path. Hidden away in a little strip mall this place serves a delightful mix of dishes that's sure to satisfy both vegans, vegetarians and those others just looking for a meatless experience. I've had the miso soup and the Buddha rice bowl which were both excellent. Only complaints were that they brought both plates out at the same time instead of waiting for me to finish the soup first. Also, the fake meat in the Buddha bowl changed between the two times I was there on the 18th and 25th. It went from looking like beef and having a good texture to looking like chicken and feeling squishy. I still ate the whole thing so it wasn't bad, it just didn't look the this picture the second time.

No left overs!! I wanted to lick the plates!

Searching for Vegan... your search is over. This little gem of a place serves up some very tasty delights and it makes you want more. I was so hungry I didn't stop to take any pictures! Next time. Just go and trust me, you will leave happy!!

Pretty good food! Staff was super nice and attentive, came to us immediately. The spot itself was right next to a smoke shop so it smelt weird inside there and wasnt pleasant, but i got used to it. We tried the falafel sub and the crispy rolls and they were pretty good! Felt that these particular items are not unique so i cant speak much on that, but i look forward to trying other (specifically more pan asian) food from here!

This was my first time trying Vegan Tree. I got the Golden Charm dish as take out. The seitan pieces were tasty; however, I felt the dish was a little too oily and there were more onions and green peppers than seitan. Though I wasn't totally impressed by the dish, I'm keen to try more dishes here!

    Hot pot
    Marcus F.

Can't wait to order from this place again! We got a few takeout dishes to get a sampling of the menu, and not a single item disappointed. The hot pot, happy buddha, curry, and teriyaki roll were all delicious and flavorful, as well as being very filling. Definitely a great value for the price.

Oh. My. Gosh. Vegan Tree... what a dream. My sister introduced me to Vegan Tree a couple years back. I haven't yelped over the years but now is the time!! My sister and I went on a Friday and got a couple dishes. Every dish is bursting with flavor and just has such a unique vegan tree flavor...!! Their sushi rolls are massive and filled with flavor. Their Caesar salad is the best vegan Caesar salad I've ever had in my 5 years of veganism. The croutons are so good and the meat they put on is so fire. The sauces vegan tree uses are delectable.. creamy and flavorful. Every component seems to be made in-house which completely changes the game! The servers are so sweet and respectful and kind. I've been here many times and have gotten a lot of different items off of the menu. Everything always hits! Some of my favorites are the vegan tree burger and happy Buddha!! Their onion petals are absolutely insane ... I highly recommend vegan tree... everything is always delicious..

Good selection of hot food too. The service was quite slow even though the restaurant was empty. It took a while for the sushi to arrive, and by that time, we started feeling full from the appetizers. We knew we were not going to get our money's worth tonight. Towards the end of our meal, we started smelling a poopy stench in the air - yes you heard me, POOPY! It made me completely lose my appetite. I'm so done with sushi buffets...never again :(

The menu was a mix of Japanese and Chinese dishes. Unfortunately they missed the mark on both. At some point, halfway through the meal I thought to myself, wow these flavors are way off, do they even know how to cook or know the flavors that the customers are looking for. (Why would you put wasabi in the bbq squid that comes with teriyaki sauce), to order hibachi you need to order everything separately. The service was kind and attentive but very disorganized even though it was only 2 tables being served. Do NOT order the all-you- can-eat, waste of money, too expensive for the quality and flavor combinations. Only get it if you just want to shovel food down your gastronomical hole. Hate doing poor reviews!!! This is only meant for the owners/managers to take note and fix it all, and create value for the customer.

We were greeted at the door and were aloud to pick our seat. The ambience is such a cool Asian inspired atmosphere. Mural on the wall, little table top waterfall on the sushi station, bonsai and other nicknacks on the shelves and tv showing peaceful marine life. The menu is very sushi dense, with the whole first 3 pages being sushi. I got the shrimp tempura, dragon roll, and Philly roll with a miso soup. My partner got the green curry, miso soup and white rice. My sushi rolls were so delicious, perfectly fresh, and just so yummy. Shrimp tempura roll 9.0/10 Dragon Roll 8.7/10 Philly Roll 9.1/10 The green curry was different from what we've had in the past, it came out in more of a curry soup. I recommend making a reservation for hibachi. Koi is BYOB (which is always a positive point for me). Koi has both a delicious sushi and hibachi menu. We enjoy Koi for both dining in and for take out. Truthfully, their avocado rolls are always some of the freshest I've ever had. I particularly enjoy their hibachi noodles and rice, finding them quite flavorful. My husband typically gets chicken and steak hibachi, and it's always cooked perfectly, regardless if we eat there or get it to go. I also love their fried cheesecake. When ordering from here, their portions are LARGE! So, we usually get two meals from one order of hibachi here. I also appreciate whenever I order to go food from where, the server repeats the order on the phone. I've honestly never had a to go menu from here that was wrong. (We order to go from here about once a week, so this is an impressive statistic in my opinion.) On the downside, their hours vary and can be unpredictable- sometimes they close a little early. At times, the service inside can be a little slow. Pros: large portions & fresh sushi Downside: varying hours & slower service when dining in Overall, we really enjoy ordering both hibachi and sushi from koi.

The bar honestly wasn't high, but this was probably the best dining experience I've had in Keyport,…read moreor close to it. I came here this past Saturday for an early dinner with the Millennial Chum and Co. I've driven or walked by this place a bunch of times, and I've always liked the exterior - it reminds me of an NYC Irish bar, if that makes sense. Not what I'd expect from a sushi establishment. I will say as a caveat that it IS smaller inside than I expected; it's basically one narrow corridor, so as a result it doesn't really have an opportunity to flex its interior design muscles too much. Not really a negative per se, and not something I think they can really do much about unless they move somewhere else with more square footage to play around with. I was a little apprehensive when I looked at the menu and saw they were boasting multiple Asian genres, including the aforementioned sushi but also some Thai, Chinese and Korean. (No, I didn't realize it was Asian fusion, which would have immediately explained this.) In my experience, having TOO varied of a menu can blow up in a restaurant's face, but regardless I came to try the sushi and went right to the special rolls. I opted for the Lover Roll and the Volcano Roll. The Volcano was okay for the most part - this was on me, but I didn't realize it had jalapeno in it, which is clearly referenced in the menu. I don't mind it from a taste perspective, but I hate the crunchy texture in a sushi roll (same with cucumber, which is a sushi dealbreaker for me). It was very easy to remove, and otherwise a perfectly fine roll. I think presentation value-wise it could use something since it basically looks like a pile of sawdust with the lobster salad on top, but it didn't diminish the taste. The Lover is excellent, and I wasn't too surprised to catch multiple sightings of it on other plates as we were walking out. The optics on that one were very unique, a bifurcated heart shape with a heavy dose of predictable pinks and reds. I hadn't really thought about it until now, but my sushi taste tends to go pretty savory with an emphasis on spicy tunas and wasabi mayo, that kind of thing. This is definitely on the sweeter side, which I'm assuming is primarily because of the honey. Regardless, it pairs really well with the rest of the ingredients. One of the better new sushi rolls I've tried recently, and it doesn't seem like I'm in the minority on that one. The service was very good; the Millennial Chum has been here before and said she'd had some issues on prior visits. Thankfully not a problem on this particular adventure - everyone had plans later in the evening and we were able to get in and out of here pretty quickly, probably within 40, 45 minutes or so. The price point wasn't bad either. Admittedly I'm used to being gauged on the regular in Midtown Manhattan, but special rolls being around $15 are a treat in and of itself. I'm not going to say that this is mouth-droppingly amazing sushi, but I think you have to grade on a slight curve in this area - Monmouth is pretty much a barren wasteland when it comes to its gastro offerings so when you find something decent, it's worth noting. Nemo is worth noting.
