I really like the items I got today: The grind smoothie and avocado toast. The presentation was beautiful as per ush. The smoothie was a bit over iced and lacked the flavor profile I'd expect from a $9.00 smoothie, but was still very good! The Avocado toast was good, despite the spread being an "avocado spread" vice fresh avocado... the seasoning was also heavily applied so was salty and needed to be scraped a bit. The overall rating is a 4 but I took presentation and service into account and would otherwise not pay the $11 for the toast or $9 for the smoothie.

Stopped in here on a weekday morning and it wasn't crowded at all. Comfortable and clean cafe which also has a nice outdoor seating area. The fall menu was great as I went for the pumpkin churro latte. Nice assortment of specialty drinks & lattes. The real draw for me was the baked items. Loved the selection and only wish I could have sampled more. Homemade pop tarts. Crazy donuts. Fresh croissants and pastries. This place is good for breakfast and lunch with a nice staff. Definitely look forward to returning with my kids.

This seems to be a breakfast spot for the after workout crowd. Cute place in a small outdoor mall. Ordered the egg and potato bowl and a piece of banana bread and a smoothie. All were real good. Has outdoor seating for decent weather days. Worth the trip if you're in the area

I am well aware that reviews can break a business specially from yelp. I wanted this to be good or decent but there is very little effort put towards anything good related here. The grilled cheese certainly reminds you of that good grilled cheese at home but at that price you're two cent grilled cheese at home is a much better option. As for the chicken and waffles, the waffles were soft, and thin. Nothing like you'd expect to get from other places where they are thicker with a crunchier outer shell and "fresh". The chicken was dense. You normally expect the chicken to have chicken fibers when you break it apart or cut it . This was the complete opposite. It was dry and dense.I don't know what causes that for certain but most likely over cooked and frozen afterwards. I am not sure if they have a full kitchen. If so, this is low effort. I hope they can get some more experience and improve on their menu options, preparation and execution.

Very cute coffee cafe. You can sit down or have take out for coffee, breakfast, and lunch. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. The staff is very nice and it is clean in here. Lots of fun specialty options. We came in on a saturday morning and it wasnt busy at all. The coffee was delicious, nice and smooth; very flavorful. My husband got the cinnamon toast crunch latte and i got the Ferrero Roche iced coffee. Both were great. We ordered bagel sandwiches as well, it took a little longer but we knew that means it would be fresh. Food was excellent. Definitely a place worth to come back too

caesar salad + white truffle fries

Cute cafe in central NJ that has good food and decent coffee. The coffee drinks are not as great, but I'm a big fan of the caesar salad and white truffle fries here. But, I would opt to get the caesar salad without chicken since the strips were kind of awkwardly large. I do like that the portions of the fries have increased since the last time I was here. The hot chocolate is made in-house and is thick and not watery. The avocado toast was surprisingly good as well with a lemony taste. I would come back to try their other food! Cute spot to catch up with friends or a quick bite.

Literally stop it. This place was so freaking cute. My friend and I came here to have an afternoon coffee. The staff was super patient and kind when ordering, they just have so many great options! It was hard to choose. We got their special BLT for a meal and I got the white chocolate latte and my friend got the pistachio coffee. Everything was amazing. Counting the days till I can return.

A new cafe in Monmouth! I was excited and had been wanting to come for awhile. We already had coffee at another local cafe so we just decided to get food. If you're eating in, you order at the counter and they'll bring you your food. I ordered a grilled cheese and my partner ordered the chicken and waffles. The food came out really quickly. The grilled cheese was okay--buttery and the cheese was well melted. But it was a bit soggy. And for $10, it should have been amazing or at least come with something on the side. The chicken and waffles were...just bad. The waffles were dry and crumbled as soon as your cut them. The chicken wasn't spicy at all, more sweet in fact, and had the texture of something that was premade and then reheated. Totaling close to $30 after tax and tip, this was really disappointing.

Average alert! Not the biggest fan of the food here. The blt was the best thing I had but it wasn't anything special. The chicken in the chicken sandwich was a little rubbery. Maybe an off today but I would stick to the coffee or tea here. Skip the food. 3 stars.

I can't believe this place has any bad reviews! My family loves it here. It's located very close to Dorbrok Park making it the perfect stop on the weekend. The place is very cute with delicious lattes and breakfast/lunch dishes. We love the pistachio honey latte, rainbow cookie latte and potato and egg bowl. Outside they have an adorable pumpkin patch and photo set up for kids (or adults)! Looking forward to see what they do for Christmas. I've been in 6 times now and each time the owner Danny has come over to make sure we are happy with everything.

Every time I visited my friend in New Jersey, I passed by this place thinking, "How cute is this…read morestore?" I didn't even realize it was a small breakfast spot. One day, we finally decided to stop in for breakfast. The space is very cute and quaint, and they also have a small section selling snacks and little knickknacks. The way the place operates is a bit different, you serve yourself coffee, place your order deli-style, and pay upfront like a diner. They bring the food to your table, but there isn't much table service. It was slightly confusing at first, but it didn't take away from the overall experience. That said, it was a bit disappointing that the table wasn't clean. We had a baby with us, and when we wiped the table down, the baby wipe turned brown, not something you want to see. It may have been a busy moment, but cleanliness is still important.

In Colts Neck Township, you will find this store-and-diner after navigating a series of roads. I…read moredid not think I would include this as one of my trips, but I decided that I would come. Brand: 4/5 Colts Neck General Store is located in Colts Neck Township, which is initially a store that also acts as a diner. You will find many knickknacks throughout the walls and the ceilings. The red, barn-house walls definitely gives the store a classic look. The tall sign and the wall sign do have different fonts, with the tall sign having basic font while the wall sign had a more prestigious classic look. Wait Time: 5/5 I did not have any issues with the wait time, for it arrived on time. Ambiance: 5/5 As a store-and-diner, Colts Neck General Store has that unique appeal that I see in Monmouth County. You practically feel immersed into the small town appeal with classic rock playing over the radio at a tolerable volume. The food selection on their menu reflects the small town knickknack appeal, with its varying diversity. You will also find plenty of treats for sale near the counter. The dining area had plenty of space with wide tables, whether on their own or in the booths. Food: 4/5 I ordered the Aztec Specialty Omelet, consisting of jalapeno chips, fried onion, spinach, pepper jack. with a side of toast. Initially I ordered orange Juice, but also include a bottle of water considering the hot jalapeno chips and fried onions. Every well-cooked of the omelet definitely gives it a unique spin, though the buttered toast had an unassuming taste and crunch. The pepperjack cheese brings its hardy flavor to this flavor-packed dish. The Aztec Specialty Omelet held its form, even as I cut into it. Considering how Colts Neck General Store houses many unique knickknacks, I can definitely see how one of those items may have inspired this dish, for the Mexican influence has a pronounced presence. The time it took to prepare this dish accurately matched the waiting time, and the service behind it ensured that I received the meal with my choice of side dishes. The Aztec Specialty Omelet managed to satisfy for a little bit throughout the day. Service: 5/5 The staff managed to get my order without any issues, including asking me specific questions about which side dish I wanted. Based on first impressions, I will say that I felt accommodated while feeling immersed in a small town paradise. The wait time did not try my patience. I cannot say for certain whether the staff dust the knickknacks, but I will say that nothing about the ambiance irritated me, so I presume that they care for them. They also ensured the preparation of the menu items. Cost: 4/5 I will say that as a restaurant in Colts Neck Township, it did not become as expensive as expected. Driving across many varying roads, the arrival to such a unique eatery made the food worth it. I would definitely order differing menu items if I arrive in the future. I do think that having a website would help bring modern relevance to Colts Neck General Store without changing the restaurant itself. The wall sign better represents the store than the tall sign, and if the eatery did make a website, I hope it is used for the brand. Ultimately, the price of the Aztec Specialty Omelet and staying there was worth it. Rating: 4/5 Stars Right now, I will say that Colts Neck General Store has a niche presence in Colts Neck, with its unique ambiance and menu selection. I cannot say I would go back any time soon, but if so, I would enjoy any of the other menu items. Recommend To... Anyone looking for a diner with many knickknacks decorating its walls.

Within a stone plaza, you will find the treasure of Colts Neck Township…read more Website: 10/10 It was perfectly functional with plenty of options to follow without overwhelming any visitors in terms of aesthetics or functionality. They also provide plenty of images of the food they serve. I could easily understand the categories to order online, and the Bare Necessities option was a cute addition as it offered more minimal yet nutrient dense meals. Brand: 10/10 Pertaining to brand, I will say that Colts Neck Eatery exemplifies the township in a wholesome way while maintaining a simple green-white color scheme. You will find plenty of horse canvas paintings throughout the establishment, along with other farming symbols since the horse is an important symbol to Colts Neck Township. Indeed, the small town diner aesthetics proliferate in a welcoming manner. Ambiance: 9/10 Situated within an old-fashioned, cobblestone plaza, the Colts Neck Eatery uses location with utmost advantage. The ambiance has contained chaos during the noon rush. Just like the sign lettering with the rounded corners within a standardized font, the eatery effuses a come-as-you-are atmosphere. Nonetheless, it never got too noisy. Our booth had plenty of space, despite the slightly cramped establishment. Service: 10/10 The waitress managed to get our orders without trouble, and was amicable enough to start a conversation. A minor problem occurred with our orders which they immediately resolved. They also accommodated us with separate receipts for us to keep. Wait Time: 10/10 Despite an increasing number of patrons, we did not wait too long for our orders. Furthermore, no interruptions occurred while waiting. Taking the chance to expand upon my writing, I managed to do so while also planning ahead when I never thought I would. Food: 8/10 Despite the pricey food and beverages, I ordered the signature course--Pop's Breakfast. It consists of two eggs, two sausage links, two potato pancakes, two bacon strips, four buttered toasts, and a side of apple sauce, with water. They also included sour cream, grape jam, and strawberry jam. Clearly, I can see how this breakfast would satisfy anyone's Pop, for it filled me up throughout the day with the right amount of meats, potatoes, and bread. With the exception of the eggs, the rest of the meal was well-cooked. The potato pancakes had a warm, fluffy texture to it, and they cooled with every application of sour cream. The bacon had the right amount of crisp. I did not expect the apple sauce to have a heated crispiness to it, nonetheless I found the taste satisfying. Comes Together Well?: 10/10 Nothing seems out of place, for the aesthetics, the food, and the ambiance tie together well. Colts Neck Eatery lives up the the name of the township, as though the diner is itself the township encapsulated. Placed within the right spot with a welcoming shade, the establishment would bestow regret upon those who never entered earlier. Location always provides indirect advertisement via all the senses, while standard advertisement relies on simply the sight. The food, as well-accommodating as the establishment, can provide a filling experience. It would seem, from the paintings to the menu itself, the horse is a major symbol. As such, I express curiosity as to how the horse might be added to the logo should they ever change the sign. Rating: 5/5 Stars Given the choice approximating between four or five stars, I ultimately chose five stars. I hope that this establishment continues to last and represent Colts Neck Township. Recommend To... Any families looking for a place to eat and even celebrate while also buying local. The family-friendly atmosphere provides accommodation to everyone of all ages. I also recommend the Colts Neck Eatery to those who want to walk there on a stone plaza, for walking along the same concrete pathways repeatedly can be a disillusioning experience. If any eatery can sell an experience, Colts Neck Eatery would do so.

Having never been there before, we had no idea what that meant so we followed everyone else. We had a reservation, so seating was not an issue. They weren't ready at 11am to serve. It took about 15 minutes for all of the options to be available and the kitchen struggled to keep pace as many options emptied quickly, the lines formed, and the refresh was slow. There was a cash bar service and juices available. This was a catered event, so the food was, well what I expected, but not bad with a fair amount of options. Our waitress did bring us water to our table and even filled the dirty glass and moved on. Empty plates sat on the table for a while, but we continued to return to the buffet. Everything was fair, until the check arrived. First, they charged us the child price for one of the under threes that ate one pancake. The waitress didn't ask if he was under three, just charged us despite under three being free. The real kick in the pants came from the automatic 20% gratuity for parties of 6 or more, billed for four at the table. Yes, I know technically six, I get it. 20% on a buffet is insane. I served myself, I served my own drinks and stacked my own plates, by that definition I should have stayed to collect my tip-out after dining. I would have described our service as poor, unfriendly and unwelcoming. The 20% was not disclosed at the time of the reservation and I consider this a deceptive business tactic. It was Mother's Day so I would have chosen to leave more anyway, despite the bad service, but after the 20% gratuity was automatically added, there was an additional line for the tip. How many added a tip after already being charged? Quite a few I imagine. We will not be visiting this restaurant again and encourage them to be honest, upfront and train their staff appropriately. If the manager had visited out table, we would have spoken to them directly.
