Pumpkin Pie Smoothie
Mia L.

I visited Soul Bowls after having a midweek brunch at nearby Hatch 44. I was too full to get one of their bowls but decided to get a smoothie to enjoy on the ride home. I went with their seasonal pumpkin pie smoothie. This place was pretty popular, especially with people coming in to pick up pre-orders. Although there weren't many people in the shop, I still had a bit of a wait because they were filling online orders as well. The wait wasn't terrible, though. I enjoyed my smoothie. It wasn't too sweet. I would definitely return. Their bowls look amazing, and I want to try one next time.

Still love the quality of the ingredients here and the taste, which I think is slightly above some otheother bowl brands, but they do seem understaffed at times. Today I was in and out (slow Sunday), but in the past I had a fifteen minute-wait after order was placed. The other thing is, the bowls are very pricey for what it is. My Elvis bowl was almost $17. I switched out the peanut butter for almond butter and added cacao nibs. High. But, worth it for an occasional treat. Again, I return because of quality and taste.

Wellness shot with turmeric ginger and lemon

#50 of 100 A complete surprise to find this little gem in the heart of Metuchen. This female owned local smoothie and acai shop was a perfect find for us. We tried the wellness shot " healer" with turmeric, lemon and ginger that was served fast in a little plastic container for $4. Wait times were short even though had other customers waiting. The owner' s mom rang us up, gave us a little history of their start and told us of the history of being 100% vegan for you health conscious folks out there. Absolutely would come back for their protein smoothies that would be great after a run or workout. Plenty of spaces to sit inside or outside when warmer . Return : definitely

Emerald bowl

We got the emerald bowl with half banana whip and it was life changing. There is a lot of thought put into this bowl and the things that stood out were its small diced fruit that was easy to enjoy, the home made soft granola, and the banana whip as no one serving stuff like the around. The service was good. The cashier made our bowls while handling multiple customers upon closing and the bowl was made perfectly for every bite with granola waiting for us at the bottom. The Metuchen location has a charming ambiance with lots of natural sunlight and big windows to get some sunlight and enjoy this sweet treat

Stopped by Soul Bowls to grab a smoothie. I've been to this spot just a few times but the best way to describe it is homey. Very relaxed with a bunch of smiling faces to meet you at the counter and make recommendations. Everything is super fresh and handmade. If you are looking for healthy, fresh, and tasty treats, with a sprinkle of love, look no further.

Went to soul bowls today with some friends. It was my first time having any sort of fruit bowl like this, and I have to say, I loved it! So fresh, creamy, and delicious! Had the PB&J bowl, swapping the raspberries for blueberries. So so good. Will definitely be back!

Great visit to Soul Bowls as I was craving a fruit bowl. The staff were so friendly and provided great recommendations being that it was my first time stopping in. I ordered the Vaykay without the coconut flakes and WOW so delicious and hearty. I loved the homemade granola and fresh fruit. I was so happy I did not order the large as the small size was packed and so filling. The outdoor seating was lovely to enjoy on a nice day.

SWEETEST staff and most delicious and fresh bowls. Love that they are 100% vegan and even make their own homemade vegan "nutella" and granola. The person helping us was so nice and helpful with what to get. Although they are pricey, $14 for a small bowl, i would say its so much better than any bowl ive had (playa bowl etc) their acai is super fresh and you can taste that. Location is so cute and beachy vibes in the interior. Love their outdoor space for the summer too! Definitely returning, but wish they had coupons/ ways to save!

Soul Bowls was a great addition to the downtown Metuchen area and was the highlight of my summer in 2022! I loved the simple, but elegant decor inside and the pretty mural in the outdoor seating area. I was even lucky to witness when they were live painting some of it. The staff are so nice and can guide you in recommendations. You do need to wait a bit while your order is getting ready, but I didn't mind! I was happy with every order I made at this shop. My favorite bowls were always the ones with nut butter and fruits on top. I also enjoyed the cold brew, but it was on the more expensive side, around $5-6. The bowls were priced around the same as other açaí bowl chains. As for the smoothie part of the açaí bowl, the texture was thick and more frozen. I personally prefer the smoothie to be more creamy and smooth. Nevertheless, I enjoyed all my orders and would love to go back next summer!

They make acai bowls and their own nutella. I repeat their own Nutella. It's vegan. It's good. A lot better than the other acai bowl joint across the street. It's new. Go there if you want acai bowl instead of ice cream.

I never really had an urge to go here because I figured it was just another rendition of playa bowls. However, I saw one of their posts on Instagram featuring a super smooth looking banana nice cream, so I wanted to try it out. The bowls are a bit expensive at $12 for a small bowl but it could easily feed 2 people. It was easy to make an order, but they ran out of blueberries so I had to pick a different topping. For 2 bowls, it took about 15 minutes to come out. I decided to make my own bowl with acai and banana whip, and for the toppings I had banana, strawberry and mango. The bowls are filled to the brim and come out beautifully. The fruit was chopped finely, which made it easier to eat. I think the mango could've been a little more ripe but I didn't notice it too much. I love granola, but there was too much and it really filled me up. The granola could've also been more crunchy (it was on the chewier side), but that's my personal preference. The banana whip was good at first, but as it melted, it became more goopy, like how blended bananas are. I would probably try a different combo with acai next time because of this. The açaí was pretty solid, no complaints.

I am a huge fan of this franchise! It's crazy how each location is different but they serve the…read moresame product. I have gone to almost every playa in north and central Jersey. By far the best locations are in Edison and East Brunswick. I love that this Playa is located on my alma mater but their bowls have definitely got smaller and smaller over the years. I barely was able to get any açaí in my bowl this time. Nevertheless, I am loyal to Rutgers so I will still support this establishment when I am in the area.

Im sorry but i have to be honest I got a nutella bowl…read more It was very messy and the fruits werent for human consumption . The bananas were way overipe. They go down as if they were mashed potatoes while the strawberries were not. They were very tart and some were pink not red.(meaning not ready to eat) They barely put any nutella in it. They were very cheap about it. Idk if this location is struggling or business aint booming but shorting customers could be a downfall. The icing on the cake is the staff working there. They hire young staff (maybe college students or just teens ) Big problem theyre lazy as hell. They dont want to work they just want to talk and be on their phones I ordered online and when i go pick up my food that was supposed to be ready 20 mins prior I get there and everyone is talking and standing around but no one got my order ready.I had to wait an additional 15 mins THIS IS FOR THE OWNER PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE GET IT TOGETHER OR CLOSE THAT BUSINESS AND LET THEM PUT SOMETHING ELSE THERE.
