Fantastic experience from the moment we walked in the door. Greeted right when we walked in and sat without a wait. We had the most amazing server as well! The inside has a classic/neat bar vibe. The food was outstanding. From the homemade biscuits to the chicken drum sticks, every was so flavorful. We will definitely be coming back.

Rib tip appetizer- decent. Would I order it again? Probably not.

Love The Eagle. Now they have Happy Hour! Typically I order chicken, salad, and hush puppies. Another plus is there is ample street parking.

The ambience was somewhat loud; not from people but from music. The service was semi attentive. Ordered 3 piece dark chicken (2 legs/1 thigh); Mac and cheese; collard greens; spoon cornbread; and fries. One sweet tea and one strawberry lemonade. Meal(s) came with biscuit. Seasoned chicken gave the taste of a spicy spice without the actual heat. It is a taste that is completely different from traditional southern chicken. It it's definitely an acquired taste; the mac & cheese uses a cream sauce. The noodles were overcooked in rubbery. The biscuits were hard and crumbly like a cookie. The cornbread was very tasty and different. There was a maple butter sauce applied to the top. all in all, it was OK for one visit

Love a place that plays da Blues, Howling Wolf Smokestack Lighting. A fantastic find, been on my try list since opening. A mega deal Meat+Three only $16, got three pc Chicken, Greens, Mac and Biscuit. So juicy flavorful Breast, Wing and Drumstick OMG Delicious . I had a marvelous Chicken Sandwich outstanding Wowed. Added the Jalapeno Cheese Hushpuppies with dipping sauce, a real winner. I added Hot Honey to them for a xtra boost of flavor . Shout out to Tristan our superstar waiter, dude rock's. Great location Downtown on Woodward, highly recommend a visit. #theeagle @theeagledetroit #chicken #hushpuppies #greens #macncheese

Stopped in for lunch with a few friends. Service was excellent. Quick, attentive, and friendly. Cool vibe in there; not busy when we went. Now onto the food. I had high hopes for the chicken, but it fell flat. I ordered the drumsticks. Almost zero crisp to the coating was disappointing. Additionally, it needed a bit more seasoning. It was fine. It was not bad at all. It just didn't stand out and I wanted some crisp. I also tried the chicken sandwich. This was a bit better, but again, the chicken was the worst part. The honey was great (didn't detect any heat though). I also ordered the spoonbread which was a bit dry, but had pretty good flavor. The best bite I had was from the green beans which was very very good (highly recommend). Overall, the food was fine, but nothing special.

Six of us arrived right at opening time with a reservation and were met with amazing hospitality right away. The host was so nice and accommodating to give us just the right table that suited one of us who uses a cane to get around. Zoey soon appeared to provide exceptional service. We ordered grits, the seasonal Shrimp Poboy, Burnt Ends, Kale salads, fried chicken and cocktails. Everything was AMAZING. Kale is really nothing to get excited about, but this salad was fire! So, so good just like a Neil Diamond song. The grits were very tasty as well. The vibe is very positive here with a charming ambiance. The experience was so great that my sister enjoyed a solo lunch the next day here. Definitely a highlight of our trip to Detroit!

Perfect place to walk to after a DSO show. Went for lunch after morning show. Had reservations although probably didn't need and was seated immediately. The service was great and fast. Introduced entire menu to us. The hush puppies were outstanding. The sauce they serve with was so good, I asked for some with my chicken. I would go back for this dish alone. Fried chicken is good. Green beans were okay.

Quick find close to our hotel in heart of Detroit. So glad this meal was everything a very hungry gal needed! The chicken sandwich with and order of fries was handed over freshly made, hot! The piece of chicken was plump, juicy, crunchy and bursting with such seasoned flavor! I typically need more spread on a sandwich but ther was more than enough spicy mayo with the slaw that meshed well. The slaw wasn't no ordinary topping either.. spice no tang! Oh and those garlic herbed doused fries with aioli ... hand- dipping crazy delight!

How many reviews will I end up giving this very Welcoming Restaurant..... We are beginning to know the staff. First A friend of ours is Moving and a few of us "ladies" wanted a " gonna miss You " dinner. Actually girls night out....Eagles was the ONLY Restaurant in Downtown Detroit that was willing to offer private seating and... ( this is HUGE) give individual checks. That worth 10 s alone. The way staff was Welcoming, Travis and personally steps in to let Yiu know You are important. Travis leads a Good Team....our group was kinda "askie" yet Shira our Waitress went past anything expected to make everyone feel special Because there were 11 of us she confirmed everyones order. The Bar tender the Staff that cleared the table did everything " just so" My only fear in posting this review is that everyone will go,and I won't be able to get back in... Oh the food Well see the photos You can't go wrong, GO

    Shrimp grits

Best chicken we've had in Metro Detroit, green beans had great flavor, grits were the best grits I've had in Michigan (we're southerners), the beverages were tasty. We will definitely be back!

Very good with lots of flavor .. if you love flavor you will love this comfort food. Reasonable prices and savory. I'm a sit a the bar girl so great interaction with the bar tender so love the service from Govan.. Ambiance very nice booths and plenty of seats to enjoy the people watching on Woodward.

We were quickly seated and greeted which was wonderful for a busy Friday night. Our drinks were just okay -- we ordered a pitcher and when it arrived it didn't taste like much of a cocktail so we sent it back and just ordered cocktails. Our dinner was good. I especially enjoyed the burnt ends that came with a delicious ranch dipping sauce. And the spoon bread is a must to accompany the fried chicken with the hot honey sauce!

There a few mainstays, including their doner options. Their lamb doner version is the only one I've found in the US I like (I have to remember to ask without peppers, not a traditional ingredient). From the moment I walked in, the ambiance transported me to a beautiful Mediterranean garden, with its gorgeous tiled floors, lush greenery, and warm, inviting atmosphere. It felt like a refreshing escape right in the middle of Detroit's historic cobblestone streets. It was the perfect setting for a long-overdue reunion with my sorority sisters, and Supergeil was incredibly accommodating, hosting our group of 14 women in the middle of Grand Prix weekend without missing a beat. We kicked off the evening with a few appetizers to share, including the hummus, deviled eggs, and meatballs. Everything arrived quickly and was an instant hit around the table. The standout was definitely the hummus, served with fresh, homemade pita that was unbelievably soft, fluffy, and packed with flavor. The meatballs were also delicious, perfectly tender, juicy, and well seasoned. For my entrée, I ordered the popular lamb and beef döner, and it absolutely lived up to the hype. The portion was generous and beautifully presented, overflowing with crisp vegetables, fresh lettuce, garlic sauce, hot sauce, and the most tender, savory lamb and beef. Around the table, others enjoyed the Turkish ravioli with spiced beef and pork, more döner, and a variety of salads. Everyone loved their meals, and we couldn't resist passing plates around to sample a little of everything. It's the kind of restaurant that's perfect for sharing and enjoying with a large group. And what would a girls' night be without cocktails? If you're a fan of Two James spirits like I am, you're in for a treat. The bartenders create incredibly inventive cocktails from a seasonally rotating menu. I stepped outside my comfort zone and ordered the Open Kettle, made with coffee infused Doctor Bird Rum, cola reduction, coconut cream, and Underberg. It was unlike anything I've ever had! It was rich, tropical, complex, and with just the right kick. It's an absolute must try. Another crowd favorite was the Purple Gang, featuring lavender vodka, lemon, and butterfly pea tea, which gave it the most stunning purple hue. To finish the night, we ordered all three desserts to share: the burnt sugar tres leches, strawberries and cream, and the hot brownie with cinnamon ice cream. My favorite was easily the tres leches. It was light, creamy, and perfectly balanced with the crunch of burnt caramel and the subtle sweetness of coconut, it was a creative twist on a classic dessert. The warm brownie with cinnamon ice cream was pure comfort and a chocolate lover's dream, while the strawberries and cream offered a lighter finish with sesame brittle and hibiscus, creating a unique combination that reminded me of an elevated granola paired with a glazed donut cream. From the beautiful atmosphere and attentive service to the creative cocktails and delicious food, Supergeil delivered an unforgettable dining experience. Whether you're planning date night, catching up with friends, or celebrating with a large group, it's definitely a spot worth adding to your Detroit restaurant list.

My friend and I ordered a Mango Lassi Mule and we were really excited but it literally tasted like a basic Moscow Mule which was really confusing. There wasn't any color which would presumably come from the mango and it just tasted like lime. Everyone liked their food though and had leftovers. From the second you walk in, it's obvious this place isn't just another bar -- it's a neighborhood hangout with serious personality. The menu is packed with attention-grabbing comfort bar food that goes way beyond typical pub grub -- think flavorful sandwiches, crispy fries, and dishes that pair insanely well with a cold drink. One of the best parts? Wednesday night trivia. It's the kind of event that turns a midweek night into a destination night. Finally got a chance to try this spot out. I came on a Sunday afternoon around 1pm and was happy…read morethat it wasn't crowded. The downside is parking can a little pricey depending on the time and day that come but that is expectec with all downtown places. I was with my husband and he wanted to sit at the bar so we were able to go straight to seats with no wait. We were immediately greeted by the bartender and menus were already at the seats. The inside was very nice, not too loud, gospel music was playing at a nice level on the background. The decor is full of beautiful pictures and I love the big windows which adds brightness to the inside. After reviewing the all three menus I decided on the Sangria and my husband got the Old Fashion. I had a hard time trying to decide on what to get to eat because the menu is full of items. I decided on the smothered pork chops with collard greens and mac and cheese. My got the fried chicken with the same sides that I got. My pork chops were good, the fried chicken was a little too salty, I was happy the collard greens were not full of stems but the taste was ok. The mac and cheese lacked flavor and it was more cheese than mac. Service was good but because I sitting at the end of the bar were the bartenders made the drinks I got an earful of how they all didn't feel like working, how they hate this and that but hey we all complain about our jobs. I would probably only go back to visit their SpeakEasy Hush Harbor.

Came here last week & had a great time!…read more The classic burger is so so good! The meat was cooked very well. The fries were pretty good! I didn't like the dill ranch but my friend did. The music in there was so good too. The waitress was very attentive to us! I'll be back :)

So this is kind of like an upscale dive bar if you thought about a '60s type of style to it. If…read morethat makes any sense. We have a lot of retro vibe going on, but it has a little hint of modernness though with the history. You'll come in and and you'll hear music playing in the background and it's a little bit aged, but it's a really chill vibe and it's not going to be the party kind of music you're looking for. Which is okay if that's not what you want! I have no issue with the service and everybody was pretty cool. The waitress was super friendly, especially when I couldn't make up my mind because there are so many options lol. It's tree pockets so you have to park on Michigan Ave but there is plenty of it. Depending on what kind of day or night it is though. But just be aware you have to pay for parking. Seasoned fries - the fries come very seasoned and super crispy. You get a ton of them as well. You may not even need ketchup actually. French onion - this burger was good. Came with some onion rings kinda on the side. It was cooked medium and they got it pretty right with the temp. The cheese was melted well and it was seasoned pretty good also. Blt - this was a good BLT and it was very stacked. I'm not sure if you can make it out from the picture but it had plenty of everything on here. The bacon tasted great. Tots - they came out really hot and super crispy and actually gave you a heck of a lot of them too so that definitely helped but these are really good and you didn't even need ketchup.

Spectacular! I had a large party and they accommodated us at the last minute. Shout out to Miss…read moreLisa for making it happen. The real star was the food!!!! The hot sauce was ridic. The fried catfish, yams, greens, fried chicken, dark maple hot wings and anything that hit the table was exceptionally tasty. With classic tastes like grandma used to make, but with that extra touch of love. Inside the dining area was super clean and upbeat. Gorgeous artwork and a speakeasy type vibe. Met chef Aisha and she was wonderfully sweet. So were Miss Lisa and Brandy. Huge shout out to brandy as she was the mixologist. That Mr Bowie was the best!

OMG- I lived in the metro- Detroit area for 15 years and never turned on this street ever. I wanted…read moreto try a restaurant that I had not been to and saw this one on FB and decided to do something different. I have never been so disappointed in a restaurant before. First, the restaurant is up two flights of steps and there is no elevator. I injured my knee and walked up the stairs. Second, when I was seated and shown the menu, I was shocked at the very limited options. They only offer white- meat chicken, no rice or plain sides. I was going to try the greens but the server said they put vinegar on them which I don't care for. The Brussels sprouts with corn is a hard pass. I had no other choice but ordered something that I would never put together as a meal: fried catfish, sweet potatoes and Brussels sprouts with corn. The fish was fried hard and needed seasoning and the sprouts were forgettable. They brought out hot sauce on the side assuming all people want hot/ spicy food. I wanted tartar sauce and they didn't have a traditional sauce- they had a " Cajun- style sauce." My friend had a crab cake for $25. When I called about parking, the hostess mentioned the cash lot behind the restaurant and.a parking structure across the street. She didn't mention that it was extremely expensive, I paid $24.49 for 1 hour and 6 minutes in the structure. Oh, I almost forgot that they added a 20% gratuity automatically for a party of 2! So, overall, my catfish dinner, 1 crab cake appetizer, and $2 up charge for the Brussels brought my bill to $74. Plus, the $24.49 for parking was a $100 night with no liquor only to have to leave and go eat elsewhere as what I wasted money on left me hungry and unsatisfied for sure.
