We rolled through Batch for lunch and a cold one after a little sightseeing in the area. We opted to sit outside, since it was a nice day. They had plenty of umbrella covered tables to keep you out of the sun. The only negative: you order with toast tab, and there's no way to customize anything. My husband has food allergies, so it knocked out a bunch of options. We settled on nachos, and they wound up being really tasty. We did add a little salt, but overall very good and filling. (The chorizo and avocado were a little extra.) My husband went up to the bar to get some samples for us to try, and we both chose the Pocket Calculator. It was rich, sweet, and very tasty. The waitress brought food and drinks out quickly when they were ready. This is a great place to stop, especially if you are allergy-free! read more

Truly cool place inside - love the vibe. Beers are great and the food is really good too. We had the chicken nachos, a warm pretzel, as well as an amazing French onion dip with house made chips. I forgot to take a picture of the dip - was too hungry and forgot. If you're downtown, give the a try - you won't be disappointed. read more

If you are visiting Detroit, you have to stop at Batch. This is coming from a Michigander who now lives in San Diego (the craft beer capital). Every single beer we had was clean and fresh. Even the styles that don't usually appeal to me were good. We ordered two flights, and let the bartender pick what she thought we should try. The brewer popped out and chatted with us for a bit and gave us a couple other brews that we hadn't tried yet. Every person working was extremely friendly and knowledgeable about their product. They all were eager to chat and share their favorites. We also had the grilled cheese which was SUPER cheesy. For $10, it's a great snack with the beers. This is an absolute MUST stop for any beer afficionado. read more

The proximity to the Trumbull hotel and the reviews had me intrigued to stop by for lunch, and I was most certainly not disappointed. The homemade pretzel was delicious and the mustard was exceptional. I was a bit disappointed with the brisket burger, it was soggy and bit bland but the pulled pork with grit cake was delicious. Last but certainly not least, the banana vanilla pudding was out of this world. That alone should get you to come out. Cool venue with outdoor seating as well. Strong 4/5 read more

Recently in town and saw these smoked siracha chicken wings on a review...and figured I had to check em out. They came out quickly and were hot in both temp and taste! Good rich flavor mixed along w the heat. pretty meaty wings as well. Pair it off with a Motor City NEIPA and you've got a perfect meal. Service is fast and friendly. Atmosphere is laid back, with quiet background music and no TVs. Seating for prob about 60 people ish and bar top that seats 8-10. Parking on street is close and free. Lots of wins. read more

I will have dreams about the pimento dip. Got a little trio of beer. The website draft list is not current, so I can't remember what we had. There was a great mango/passionfruity IPA. The stout or porter was not terribly robust. The fruit ale was great. Fun atmosphere with games to play and good music. Friendly staff. read more

I can't believe I haven't left a review here... We've been coming here since the beginning, through the pandemic and beyond. Definitely my favorite brewery in the city!! The layout of both inside and out is solid. Their shelter, added during Covid, was a welcome add and have continued to utilize the structure well. Their beer rotates pretty regularly and I don't recall many (if any) permanent choices which I like. Love their food as well! Both when their kitchen is in charge and when they have popup restaurants. Their QR code ordering system is also super efficient. Way better than waiting in a line. read more

After a few days in Detroit, this was a great place to end our last evening before we left Detroit! Lots of people outside and many inside the brewery but mainly at the bar. My husband enjoyed the drinks, food was pretty good too. Staff was quick. It was nice to chill here-such good chill vibes. Definitely recommend a good lunch and drink here after going to John King used and rare bookstore. It makes a perfect day trip to the area! Batch brewing is a favorite of ours. Came here for dinner and a couple beers on a Saturday. Has a traditional brewery feel, and large picnic style tables. Ordering is unique, you scan a QR code based on where you're sitting and can order at any time. I was surprised by how quickly every food and drink came after we ordered. I wasn't super hungry so I got the bean dip app as my meal, my husband got a Cuban sandwich. Both were very good! Beers were also good, you can purchase some of them canned if you find one you want to bring home. read more

Really cool brewery! Fun ambiance and lots of seating options, which they need because this place gets busy. I was there on Monday night and by 6pm the place was crowded. They have long community tables if you feel like socializing. They have indoor and outdoor seating. A large tent like dining area outside for the overflow, and it's warm and cozy inside. Easy ordering and paying on your phone. Fast service. Everyone is really nice. Delicious beer! Nice variety. They have a taco truck on Monday and Tuesday nights. Amazing tacos! They have their own menu too during the rest of the week. Plenty of nearby free street parking. read more

A great, large outdoor patio to enjoy in the warmer months, with games and such. Breweries are always full it seems of babies and dogs, and this area is made for it. The IPA Nectaron of the Goods was very good but my favorite was the Schwarzbier, they do a lot of lagers. And the menu has some great stuff, try the BBQ. read more

This beer spot has grown so much since my last review (3 years ago!)- nice communal indoor seating as well and a large outdoor pavilion that gets insulated during the winter months. This is definitely a hidden jewel in Corktown. So we went to this restaurant on taco Tuesday. The food was really good. I had the steak tacos with corn tortillas. The steak is grilled, and seasoned to perfection. All the meats are grilled which add to the flavor. They do offer flour tortillas for those that don't like corn tortillas. I also had a Mexican beer which is a lager-- very flavorful. The restaurant has a huge outdoor seating area, a portion of it is shaded. There's also an indoor section. You have to order the food with the server but you order all the drinks using a QRS code. The drinks come out really fast. The waiters/waitresses are super nice. My only complaint was that they had no guacamole for the tacos or the tortilla chips. The menu also has grilled bbq ribs which look amazing. I didn't try them, but I plan to try it next time. My friend had the shrimp tacos, which were also very good. read more

Returned for Father's Day ands ate and drank this time, and they had a fantastic band playing. I'd come back just to see them. We ordered wings, buffalo cauliflower and sandwiches, and everything was really top notch. Best buffalo cauliflower I've had. Visited for a trivia night and liked the ambience and the overall vibe. The trivia event itself was well paced and interesting. There was seating outside for trivia which was heated but it was still cold on the borders ( which is where we got a table). Service was quick. Beer and Espresso Martini along with Nachos, cauliflower bites were good. Chicken wings however were okay-ish. Found just 2 dessert choices on menu which didn't appeal much to me so skipped. Would probably visit again for trivia night. read more

It's been awhile since I was last year... walk down memory lane for sure. If you're looking for light easy drinking beers, this is the place for you. If you want IPA's heavy on hops, this is not what you want. My Low Boi west coast IPA very easily could've been a Pilsner. That being said if it had just been called a Pilsner, I probably would've enjoyed it for what it was more than what I thought I was getting. The service was good, the staff was very friendly. They were very patient with my son who treated our table as his own personal water table. Sorry! I will come here on a hot day to drink a light beer. We were not able to take advantage of the food truck this time, but they do have rotating food trucks on different days of the week that look pretty good. read more

If you're looking for an overpriced, underwhelming dining experience wrapped in a painfully hipster aesthetic, Batch Brewing Company is your spot. From the moment we walked in, it was clear that that Batch was less about good food and service than maintaining an air of forced coolness. I've had better meals from a food truck at half the price. Everything was barely mediocre...basic, forgettable food...you can do better. read more

Delicious! The service was friendly. The ambience was chill. We tried a flight of all 11 on tap. All were tasty! We loved the pilsners and hazy beers the best. This brewery has an amazing atmosphere, with tables outside and board games available for all to grab. The outside area is also dog-friendly. You order from a QR code at the table, so the service is quick and efficient. The selection of beers is amazing. But the Batch's standout is their frozen beer slushy. Every month there is a new flavor, from passion fruit to strawberry sundae - their creativity is endless. And if you're not sure what to get, they offer small flight sized options for most (if not all) of their beers. Their food doesn't fall far behind at all. In fact there have a local smoker, with delicious smoked briskets and bratwurst. And like any good brewery - a delicious pretzel to accompany your drink. I would highly recommend this place if you are looking to have a great time with some delicious food and beers! read more

A great Brewery in Detroit's Corktown. The service is good and the food is great. Not a large menu, but they have a decent menu with several vegetarian options. The beer is outstanding, with a large selection of drafts on tap. There are also options for wine, ciders, and hard seltzers. You can either order from the table using a QR code, or from the bar. Each time we ordered it was quick and without issue. If you are in Corktown, I would definitely check this place out. We'll be coming back. read more

Amazing experience overall! Vibes are super chill and the service is impeccable whether sitting at the bar or at a table. To order at a table you must order from your phone with the QR code. The food was great and the beer was excellent, but the service was non-existent. The TOAST app completely replaced staff interaction, making the experience feel impersonal and cold. No one checked in, no "How's everything?" or even a greeting. I usually tip 20%, but it was hard to justify when there was no personality or personable service. I hope I have a better experience when I return. read more

Rock city eatery this month at batch. This place is one that I think tries way to hard to be trendy. The venu is great, outdoor seating even the time they took to get the custom speakers for the clean sound heard throughout however, the menu choices seem to steer clear of the American food into a realm of complex unknowns and letdowns. I've been here a handful of times. Brunch and regular menu items that are bar foods trying to be something they're not, rotating chefs for the revolving menu. The shrimp and grits that have soggy mushrooms for some reason to the spicy bratwurst with kraut but no mustard? It seems they get every chef in this place to ruin a good traditional American dish with their 'spin' but it's really just an over-complex item that ends up just tasting a bit .. off? Now, the burger (not pictured) $15 bucks for a hand made house bread caramelized onion, the fancy cheese and arugula and the nachos (not pictured) that I've had before are alright but, I'm also speaking to a burger and nachos at a bar so, am I really saying much? The price is good for the area averaging about $13-16 a person and for the time and again, it's hard to speak to the food specifically as the Chef is always changing so is the menu so, let's talk brews. Starting with the beer banana split. Again, this was a good idea until it was like your 'one' friend on a Friday night trying to order pizza, adding pineapple to a damn classic dish when it was great without it. Yea, you got it, there's beer, banana and vanilla mixed to a chilled slurry and what else, pineapple. I've had a lot of banana splits in my day, never with pineapple. You get the cherry top with the chocolate and strawberry additions but, this one was a huge turnoff with the pineapple being overbearing with the beer. R2G2. Great light taste of grapefruit. The Stevie Sour a lime-sour aftertaste. This place has too much going on but, maybe that's their vibe. But the outdoor seating is a great addition, they have three ways to order (yea three) inside bar (you get a physical menu) inside table (digital ordering) outside seating (digital menu) Kid, elderly, family and dog friendly. No veteran discounts but, does support 'industry' discount. read more

Settled here in the late afternoon for some beers/snacks. Large open space inside as well as outdoor seating during the nicer months. Started off with the "Bark Louder" IPA ($7ish) - a crisp hoppy ale with some tropical notes. Paired this with their Cauliflower Wings ($8), essentially roasted cauliflower cooked with some buffalo sauce. Not breaded, so easy to eat without feeling terrible afterwards. Second beer was the "Dying Art" IPA ($7ish) - a more heavy bodied beer though still with plenty of hops. Spot itself is cool, with board games to the side and knowledgeable bartenders. Worth driving over if in the area. read more

We were brew hopping around Detroit with the final plan of grabbing dinner down by the Christmas tree before they take it down. But the weather had other plans. It was incredibly cold and windy. Neither of us has much tolerance for the cold but this was extreme!! We chickened out. Lol! Anyway, this was on our list of stops and was my first time here. One thing we have figured out is that I have been to breweries all over the Mid West but have not been to that many right around home. Haha. Well I loved this place. It was actually on the busier side compared to everywhere else we had been. We enjoyed our time talking to others at the bar and the beer tenders. We enjoyed watching them brew the beer which is done right in front of you. Definitely somewhere we will come back to. Welp... My fancy dinner ended up turning into Green Dot but that's ok. It's one of our favs. Happy New Year! read more

Banchan Brewery is such a fun place to go to. I always enjoy visiting. The beer is always fantastic, and there is such a great variety. They change the menu recently, so we had to try some of the food while we were there we got the smoked wings which were delicious, and some of the sandwiches to cut up and share between four of us. Everything was absolutely delicious, we particularly enjoyed the pork belly sandwich. The wings I will come back for again, they were just so delicious. I really love their grandpa beer which is a cream meal and it goes so well with food. Great job, Batch. read more

I have been back a few times since my last review(s) and I don't know that I'm going to be rushing back. The food quality here has PLUMMETED. They got rid of my favorite menu item (chicharonnes) but still have the nachos. Unfortunately, the nachos are half as small and have barely ANYTHING on them. I omitted the crema sauce but come on. They don't check on you, at all, but still expect tips. Customer service here is embarrassingly bad. I went to ask for something that I couldn't order via QR (I hate these systems, can't I just order at the bar like I used to?), and when I tell you the RUDEST bartender ignored me to pour a beer for AN EMPLOYEE who was standing at the bar area. She then looked at me, and turned completely around with her back to me. Another few employees passed me without saying anything, either. I stood there for a solid minute completely confused before another female bartender asked me if I needed anything. I recognize the rude bartender from another place she worked and I see her attitude hasn't changed at all. Really disappointing because this used to be an awesome place. Guess that's the new, hip Detroit. Don't bother. read more
