We went here before the Red wings game on NYE and I was very happy with this choice! They had good selection on beers, great food as we ordered some appetizers and our bar tender was super nice and friendly. Told us about party after game and helped us get in with no cover after too. The place is huge with an entire up stairs and we had country music going downstairs but when u went upstairs it was a different vibe, very cool. They had a mashed potato bar upstairs for NYE which was different but good! Definitely coming back here again when I'm in Detroit. read more

Wonderful spot for a romantic date night-- beautiful ambiance. We sat at the bar & the bartender was great! The drinks he made were spot on. Husband ordered the Old fashion which he enjoyed. I ordered Tequila Negroni- absolutely delish- not overpowering & def not sweet ((thank goodness)). For dinner he had The Firebird Burger-- so so soooo good with a tender & crispy chicken breast, w/ crispy fries. I had the Banh Mi Bowl-- I loved it! Only thing I'd say was the bowl was too small for $19 lol. Amazing spot and soooooooo worthwhile! Next time we visit detroit, we're coming back here AGAIN!! read more

I came here with friends for dinner before a night out on the town. We didn't have a reservation, but got there around 5pm on a Thursday and were able to be seated right away. We made it in time for happy hour, so we were able to get half off craft beers, wine, and Tito's drinks, and they had $5 small plates available. For my meal, I went with wings (not a happy hour special) and the loaded fries (one of the $5 small plate options). They were both good! What a pleasant surprise! I went here to feed myself before the Yelpies and I didn't expect much but I saw a good segment on the food they had at the tavern and everything sounded good so I went. Everything I had was good from the drinks to the food. There was a good mix of items to choose from elevated food like the bahn mi bowl to regular bar food like the pretzels. The bahn mi bowl was super fresh with awesome pork belly and was better than anything I've had eating out in a while. The drinks were well made. The maple bacon old fashioned was different but strong. I recommend this place for sure if you're in Greektown and need a place for eats and drinks. read more

Mrs. Fluffy and I had a nice meal here before a show. We got here early so didn't experience the "pre-show rush". The food was excellent. Ingredients were fresh and Mrs. Bunny felt her salad was the best she's ever had in a bar (she's an old bunny so that means a lot). Drink were excellent and service was speedy. There is really not much to say about except that it was a bit loud. Thankfully, it was less-loud when the loud people left. (Just be normal, peeps). Anyway, I have to give Firebird 5 stars. 12/10 This place was amazing! We decided to attempt dinner and drinks before the Taylor swift concert 6/10/23 and didn't even know they were doing a whole swifty takeover! They played her music, had decorations, a themed menu! Honestly so smart I was so impressed. I love when places really just embrace stuff like this. The themed cocktail menu was amazing - the lavender haze drink was so good! The Taylor's version chicken sandwich was great too. The staff was incredible, really on top of the crowd and kept up great and all with smiles on and genuinely seemed in good moods! I took 13 people to the Restaraunt and they took care of us. The food was probably the most impressive thing other than the service. Everything was very good as we had Wings (GREAT!), pretzels & a few other things I can't remember but it was all good. We had the burgers which was the only thing that wasn't great. We were there last night, a Monday night. I had the Diner Burger/Smashburger with fries, a cold draught beer, and their craft Manhattan cocktail for "dessert." I think they have the best smashburger in Detroit! The fries were served piping hot. Our bartender, Angel, was excellent. Not everything is open on Monday nights. I'm glad we went! My wife and I came here after a long day at Comerica Park and then a concert at The Music Hall Center for Performing Arts. Let me just say...their drinks are amaze-balls. Our bartender was Rob and he was fantastic - the man can make a drink and his service was exceptional. Both my wife and I had a smoked Peach Old Fashioned and we couldn't have been happier - please see my video I posted for proof of awesome. Give these guys a try. We went to the Firebird Tavern because Fishbone's was an hour and a half wait. The Firebird Tavern got our party of 11 right in and sat us at two tables very close to each other. Our server was great! We never went without drinks. The only complaint is my dirty martini (Tito's) had a weird after taste but I was not complaining to them about it. Our appetizer, soft pretzel/cheese, was good. No one had a complaint about our dinners. My corned beef sandwich was delicious. I've never sat at a bar and the bartender just looks at me and says "no." It was extremely rude. I was there half an hour before close, so there was definitely time to order, sit, and drink my beer well before they closed. Instead they decided to be rude and treat me like a dog. This was a quick stop for a drink while bar hopping downtown. This place was was very empty but we livened it up some lol. They have $5 happy hour flatbreads and appetizers that were delicious. We tried the chicken salad cups, the Mediterranean flatbread, the pancetta and artichoke flatbread, and the tomato basil flatbread between 4 of us to try. They were all well received from our group. A must stop spot for food and drinks when you're visiting downtown Detroit! The owner actually works in the place. We met him and he was so cool. Our bartender Rizzi was attentive and personable and ran the entire bar top by herself and was on top of it. They have a limited menu late night which we ordered the pretzel and the Buffalo wrap. Very delicious. They also offer proprietary tequila and woodford reserve. The owner told us about how he went to the distilleries and had a part in curating the woodford and herradura. *EDIT: The owner did reach out to me to apologize and offer cleaning/replacements for my clothing. They also spoke with the staff to make a training and learning lesson for them which I appreciate. I'm changing my rating of the experience based on Owen's response, as most owners do not attempt to rectify a bad situation. I have never had an experience as bad as the one I just had at Firebird Tavern. Needless to say I will never return or recommend this place to anyone. The visit started well and our server was very pleasant and attentive. Halfway through our visit, a full tray of drinks and shots was spilled on me to the point that a mop was needed and a wet floor signed was placed behind me. Not only that, but my white shirt is stained and not reparable. I was soaked. The server eventually did apologize to me and told me that she was personally comping ONE of my drinks. First of all, I would NEVER expect the server to comp any drinks. Second of all, I was never approached by the manager to access the damage or talk about comps, WHICH I would assume from the establishment itself. When we were brought our bill, I asked the server, 'what is the establishment taking care of for my damages'. The manager eventually came to talk to me and did not seem aware of the situation, even after many servers explained what happened and I showed him my clothing that was still wet and stained. He simply replied that the server was comping one drink and he would see what he could do. The server came back with the same bill, no initiative from the bar or manager and I paid for the bill as it was. How is this acceptable from a bar that my table paid several rounds of drinks and food for the night? I have never experienced this lack of care in my life and cannot express my disappointment and frustration with the management and overall experience of Firebird. What an embarrassment to our city. As a resident of the downtown area, I would never expect such a terrible experience. read more

We stumbled into this bar while wandering the city before the Metallica concert. The music was playing and the service was friendly and quick. Lots of beers on tap and a small menu.
