Midtown Social is a nice looking spot and has a good mix in its menu... but I thought the food was just aight. I sat outside on a sunny day which was cool, they had a little side patio, but if I had to choose again I'd probably go inside. The menu is different which I like but the taste didn't match how some of the food sounded. The burnt end tacos were kinda over sauced, and the grapefruit in the social salad was kinda overpowering. The drinks were solid though. If you're in the area you can check it out.

Went here before a concert and caught the happy hour just in time. Nice outdoor patio when you walk up. Nice ambience. The service was amazing. I truly appreciate our server double checking with the kitchen to confirm certain ingredients for me since I have food allergies. The food was good. I just had a salad and some fries. I should've got the truffle fries because that's what my friend had and they were delicious! Overall, great experience. I will definitely return and try more items off the menu.

I'm in LOVE!!!! How did I not know about this place! Came here for Happy Hour on a Thursday with a friend and we loved it!! It is so cute on the inside, it's not too big yet not too small. Our waitress was super nice and very attentive! I only had wine and my friend had one of their specialty cocktails and both were very good. We tried the Chicken Quesadilla and Trufffle Fries and they were both good. The music was nice and versatile and not too loud. Thiey are open from 9am - 9pm so the menu is full of variety.

Let's begin with your arrival, greetings by amazing, friendly staff. Very informational menus and the cocktails are extraordinary! We sat on the patio enjoying the open air and music. The food was beyond amazing! The sausages were cooked perfectly as was the incredible eggs and the potaoes homemade! My cousin had the Social Experiment were the short ribs melted in your mouth. Highly recommended. Suggestion: espresso martini with Baileys!

    Nice murals

I went here with some friends, our first time and I will be back to explore the menu. The happy hour had great reasonably priced options and the sliders that I had were delicious with the Boss Sauce... a place to go to eat well and have a great time with friends

The shrimp and grits were amazing! Service was quick fast and friendly. We had a great bar tender as well. In the middle of us eating a guy came up to us asking if we could buy him food. It was a little offsetting to say the least. But service was great 10/10 recommend.

The city was bustling with people, and I was pleasantly surprised by how gorgeous the downtown area was. The café had a vibrant, energetic atmosphere that perfectly matched the excitement of the city. Our server was absolutely amazing and made excellent recommendations. The portions were generous, and the food was delicious. Based on the recommendation, I ordered the corned beef hash with the cinnamon pancakes, and both were fantastic. Next time, I definitely want to try the red velvet pancakes! My friend ordered the Triple Triple Omelette with the original buttermilk pancakes, and we both chose the cheesy grits. The cheesy grits were very creamy, though I would recommend adding a little more butter to enhance the flavor. That was really my only critique. The restaurant was busy, but after dining there, I completely understand why. Despite the crowd, we were greeted immediately, and the service was prompt throughout our visit. Overall, Hudson Café delivered great food, outstanding service, generous portions, and a fun atmosphere. I will most certainly be back the next time I'm in downtown Detroit!

It was a rainy morning and we chose not to go anywhere else, and waited our 20 minutes to be seated. This restaurant is bustling, and you can tell it is well liked. My fiancé had the omelette, and I had the Berry waffle. My waffle had fresh strawberries and blueberries on top along with compote. It was not quite what I was expecting, it seemed to be more like stewed fruit juice, but I enjoyed it. My fiancé enjoyed his omelette as well. I ordered a side of bacon, and it came with four very large slices of bacon. It's definitely not a cheap place to breakfast, as my waffle with bacon on the side was nearly $22. But if you want a green breakfast place the various breakfast options, including multiple types of waffles, grapes, eggs, pancakes, benedetc., then this is the place.

Valet greeted me out front. I sat at the bar and took the bartender's recommendation of the paper plane. It was really good. Then I had to go with the Old Fashioned. That was a proper cocktail. I had the Papperdelle for dinner and it did not disappoint. Don't forget get the Hollaback girl for desert. It was all spot on. If only they were all like this.

The food was pretty good, but nothing to write home about considering the price points and other fantastic restaurant options in Detroit. I ordered the burrata and panzanella salad with added grilled chicken. The tomatoes were decently fresh, but the chicken portion and flavor was just really sad. My SIL ordered the same thing with salmon, and her protein looked much better. Others at the table ordered the salmon entree which looked very good. The kids ordered smash burgers and mac and cheese which looked pretty good as well. The truffle fries were delicious. Our server was kind, but food and drinks took a good while to come out, despite the restaurant being empty. 20% gratuity was included which wasn't a shocker to me for a party of 11. What was surprising for the local Michiganers at the table was that they wouldn't split our bill.

I thought the saloon-type entry doors were a fun touch. I liked the atmosphere, too. The menu is wide-ranging, from breakfast any time to burgers, salads and sandwiches. I don't drink alcohol often, but I noticed they had a good selection of hard cider. I decided to get the one that was on the top of the menu -- something with pineapple. It was sweet but very good. My sister had the Honest John's hard cider that was on draft. It wasn't as sweet, but it was good as well. I had the grilled johnny john sandwich -- chicken, swiss cheese, tomatoes, lettuce on grilled pita. It was very filling; I only ate half! My sister had the chicken Caesar wrap, with the same result. We ordered some plain fries to share. Those weren't anything special. All in all, I liked the restaurant and would go back.

Very well kept / maintained. Server was very friendly and attentive. Other staff members were on-point when refilling our drinks and removing empty dishes from the table. Crab Cake Benedict - premium house made crab cakes with soft poached eggs over toasted English Muffin, topped with hollandaise $14.75. Both meals were good as far as flavor and quality. Only downside - the food wasn't very warm for as quickly as we received our food. As mentioned earlier in the review, this restaurant was on the smaller side and once it filled up with patrons, the noise level also increased.
