Part of my birthday festivities and not what I expected. I was thinking boozy shakes... no, shaken cocktails with the ice! Good vibe with good music and guy at bar who sang along in a loud and proud voice! Fun vibe, love the "shenanigan" menu. Yes, we did get a shitty Polaroid. It was shitty and a nice memory for birthday festivities! Great cocktails, loved the chips and dip. My companion consumed the bologna sandwich- healthy serving of bolonie! Will be back!
Stopped in on a hot day so sat inside which was nice but the patio is awesome and would love to go back and chill on it. Wings were good and I got them with the buffalo sauce which I think was the right choice. The cauliflower was also good. My margarita was okay but my friends hummer shake was the star of the show with heath bar on the top.
Super cool dive bar near Wayne State University. It was a beautiful say and they had all the windows/shutters open. It was later in the afternoon so not many patrons. We ordered drinks and the Goup, a dip of cream cheese and anchovy paste among other ingredients. Do not let the anchovy paste scare you away. It is delicious. The chicken sandwich was great, with a little spice. The grilled bologna sandwich is definitely worth a try. Thick cut bologna, white cheddar, onion and mustard. Good food, cool vibes!
Neat cozy local spot. I can picture myself enjoying the nice summer air sitting at their bar that opens to the outside. For now, cozy warm spot indoors. The Caribbean Jerk Chicken wrap was delicious! Nice balance of cabbage and chicken. Not dry and plenty of flavor. The wide cut fries are HUGE! We also got their BBQ Pork Rinds were fresh made and so good!! Will definitely come back again for the great service and interesting menu.
The inside is pretty small and its seat yourself. But it was a nice day and the patio is big and spacious so we sat there. They have a decent selection of beer I wanted to try an IPA I hadn't tried before, and the bartender showed me all the options. Dining companion had a jalapeño margarita which was pretty good. The burger was awesome! The ingredients tasted like good quality and I liked the sauce. The cauliflower stole the show though. It was spicy and packed with flavor. Dining companion had the chicken wrap, which she enjoyed. Service was good. Will definitely be back.
Dirty Shake is perfect for a delicious burger & some cold cocktails! Located in Midtown & open late, Dirty Shake hits the spot. The bartender was super friendly & helpful, offering suggestions & cracking jokes. I love this. There is a fun menu, Adult Happy Meals & boozy shakes are also an option! We ordered up some fried cauliflower wings & some sausage for an appetizer- both absolutely amazing. The burger and fresh cut fries definitely left a spot in my heart for more. There is an amazing patio to sit outside and enjoy the yumminess served up! Go give Dirty Shake a try, it will be your new favorite date night spot, friends night out, or for large groups!
The vibe at Dirty Shake is immaculate. High top, bar, and lounge seating mean are available, good music plays, sports are on TVs with closed captioning. You order at the bar and a server brings you your food and drink where you're seated. The menu is limited pretty much to wings or burgers, so luckily they are delicious. Hubby and I visited on a Sunday evening and the place was hopping but not overcrowded.

The food was above average for bar food, but I wouldn't choose this as a place where the primary task is dinner. Cant wait to come back again and participate in their Shenanigans.

Drink options are solid except for the wine, which all appears to come in cans and is frankly just not very good. Other options are better. Food was a bit hit-or-miss. The burger was good, but the very hyped up smoked chicken wings were frankly a bit bland and could've used some more seasoning. Their hot sauces are delicious and saved the day, but I'd probably not order the wings again. Overall, a solid spot, especially in the summer, but I'd look at the menu before committing to dinner here as it's quite small.
What a fabulous bar! We chose it because we wanted a beer and a patio. Sadly the rain kept us inside, but our.window seats overlooking the patio were comfortable. Service was quick - order at the bar and they bring it to you. We ordered the Coronarita. Fun concept - similar to a margarita, but with Corona. I ordered it with Mezcal and my sister tried it with tequila. I liked the tasted at first but as the beer combined slowly with the other liquers it took on a funky taste we did not like. The cauliflower was excellent - the florets are dusted in rice flour and flash fried then topped with pepper jam. Just the right crispy texture and the pepper jam was the perfect compliment. The Feta burger was super tasty and we enjoyed the fries as well. I would definitely visit again.
these wings? Whewww, absolute showstoppers. Perfectly seasoned, crispy, and bold enough to stand alone; sauce or no sauce. You do get three on the side, but honestly? You won't even need them. Now the burger... tasted like a deluxe White Castle. Not terrible, but not memorable either. Customer service didn't shake the room, but I'd still come back for those wings alone
Someone at a bar recommended I come and try "Dirty Shake" it's a burger joint, like no other. When you come, it's a restaurant surrounded by an outdoor patio, pretty cool. There's plenty of outdoor seating for when the weather gets warm. The also have a garage door that goes up as well. Inside feels more like a lounge than a bar, it has sofa's tall boys and bar seating, the staff were amazing. They took our order and enjoyed helping, once the food came, I could tell they really like what they do. The French fries were crunchy and delicious. The burger with its double patties and cheddar cheese worked as well. I was happy with my entire meal. I would definitely come back and recommended this location to anyone asking for a great burger in Detroit.

Feta burger - okay. Wrap - okay Fries - delish Goup - yummy Strong Island - he wasn't a fan Cucumber margarita - "refreshing" but wouldn't be a go-to choice Dole whip - really good and refreshing. Didn't taste the alcohol but that's okay. We sat outside on a warm sunny day. I liked the space but wish they had some shade coverage as an option (that isn't inside) so the sun wasn't beating down on the whole patio.

Unfortunately, I decided not to order anything because of the way we were treated. When we arrived, the restaurant was moderately busy and understaffed. We stood in line waiting but the employee never acknowledged us, greeted us or explained who was being served. We waited a while and then asked if we could place an order. He went off about being understaffed and contacted the owners let them know. When we tried to understand what was going on, he responded with an unnecessarily slick and dismissive attitude, saying, "I've got this person, I've got that person, I've got this." We had just walked in, we had no way of knowing who he was helping or how the line was being handled because he had not communicated anything to us. I understand that working alone can be stressful but customers should still be acknowledged and spoken to respectfully. His attitude went too far and made the entire interaction uncomfortable so I chose to leave without ordering. My friend order online. Vegan patty it was okay. The cauliflower was cold but good. Ambiance was cool, clean and decent music. read more
Such a beautiful space for friends to gather and grab a quick bite/drink! I love the amount of natural light that comes in. To me, the menu was a bit limited but it has a nice assortment of American classics and some fusion dishes. I personally got the goup dip and really enjoyed it! One of my other friends got the cauliflower dish and it was SO delicious. Pretty big selection of cocktails, beers, and more, which is nice for a day out in the D! I had seen posts about this place on social media and made a note to check them out. I checked out their menu before going to have an idea of what I wanted to order. Contrary to the name, there are no shakes offered here but they have a burger and hand cut fries that interested me enough to proceed. The staff is very friendly and welcoming into the space. Having already reviewed the menu, I knew I wanted to order the Chicharrones to start then the Burger and Fries. Everything was prepared fresh and was full of flavor. read more

Not the best, not the worst! The staff seemed overwhelmed and the food took a very long time to come out. There was a table across from us who had half their party finish their food by the time the other half got their food. The waitstaff seemed stressed and annoyed. Food was fine, looks better in photos in my opinion. I wouldn't not go back but it wouldn't be on the top of my list to revisit. read more
My friend and I decided to stop here for a late lunch/early dinner and a drink this Saturday. We were not disappointed! I liked the selection of drinks available. We each got a burger, fries, and a Long Drink. The burger was very good and the fries tasted homemade with a good crisp and a nice rosemary seasoning. The food came out pretty quickly, which was great. I really loved the atmosphere and the way the place is set up. We sat at the bar, but there is a variety of seating available inside and outside. Even sitting inside, you get a wonderful open-air feel. This place gives off a cozy, chill, very aesthetically pleasing vibe. I will definitely come back again. The service was good as well. Stumbled upon this place while in town, and returned a few times. Both the indoor and outdoor space are casually comfortable. Employees were friendly, there was a wide spectrum of music playing, great selection of beverages and a solid reasonably priced food menu. The grilled kolbassy with kraut and homemade pickles paired perfectly with our drinks. They are not lying their strong island is not for the faint of heart. Two will do. In talking to some other patrons we discovered this is a new addition to the neighborhood. They seem to have what it takes to succeed. Highly recommend checking them out. read more

Despite the name, there's nothing dirty about Dirty Shake. Even the drinks are crystal clear, thoughtful, and well-crafted. I wish I had a picture of my Freezer Door Martini because it was so beautiful: perfectly chilled and crystal clear with a variety of additions (no vermouth!) that really highlighted the botanicals in the Beefeater Gin. Alas, sometimes I struggle with being "that person" who is taking pictures of everything vs being a good Yelper :-/ I did get a snap of the Strong Island Ice Tea which is, as the name implies, very strong but also sweet with the use of honey liqueur as the main sweetener. I like the coke float deal on top and the combination of high quality liquors such as Planteray Rum, Barenjager, etc. They also have food and we were impressed with the happy meal options and the fact you can still come in and get a $4 beer too as well as a variety of NA drinks. Service was very friendly and I look forward coming back for a happy meal or a hummer or a dole whip and soaking up some sun on their expansive patio this summer! read more
Best way I can describe this is as an upscale dive bar... the indoor/outdoor set up is nice. When I heard the group who owns the place opened this up I wanted to come check it out because they have another spot whose drinks I really like. But I'd probably rather have a cheap Long Island than this one with the fancier ingredients... it didn't come together well for me. The jerk chicken pita was okay, I might be tripping but it tasted more like Tysons frozen than fresh chicken breast. I understand what they're trying to do though... cheap bar eats and beers for the college kids. Probably a good place to hang out and have a few beers and shots before a game. read more
The ambiance was nice. Open ledge to eat at that's two sided inside and outside. Comfortable couches to sit on. Other indoor and outdoor seating. The service started off a little shaky. Had to wait a bit to be helped, the hellos when we entered were dry....but once they helped us and took our order, the service went much better. The food was pretty tasty! The wings, fries, and pork rinds were delicious. The cauliflower was okay. My Dole whip smoothie drink was good but could not taste any alcohol. We enjoyed the atmosphere and relaxed vibe. read more

Dirty Shake is new to the Cass Corridor scene. I was excited to check it out. I met up with a friend after work and this place was poppin' with activity. Luckily my friend grabbed us seats at the bar because as the night rolled on it was a packed house. The bartenders were fantastic and so helpful walking us through the menu. We both did a shot of tequila and ordered a cocktail from the unique list of boozy options. The overall theme here is a twist on the classics and over the top creations. We both had the Strong Long Island (limit 2) and the Dirty XAI. For food we ordered the Cauliflower which was absolutely amazing...pepper jam and topped with cilantro and scallions!!!! My friend ordered the House Burger and his face told the story! lol He said it was one of the best burgers he's ever had! I of course had to try it. The burger reminded be of a butter burger...fantastic! If you're in the area or just passing through...check it out! read more

It was our first time trying this place last week. We ordered 2 entrees and a 2 drinks and left a tab open just in case. As soon as we sit down we notice we are charged the full amount which we thought was weird for a tab that was supposed to be open? Anyways, we go to close the check and the server Shane gives us our total as 95.. keep in mind we had already been charged for our plates even though we hadn't closed the check. Its also worth noting that our plates weren't that expensive(a burger, wings, cauliflower, fries and two drinks)the math wasnt adding up so at this point im confused and I tell him that this total isn't right. He then realizes that he charged us 25 DOLLARS extra for 2 martinis that WERENT OURS. He then questions us and says "yes this is your check its under your name and this is correct for an order of 4 drinks" he then proceeds to question if we ordered martinis, we tell him we havent. Shane then proceeds to go through and charge us that amount and then says that he will void it so keep in mind we have 2 charges at this point. He gives us the receipt for the "voided" amount and THEN proceeds to redo the transaction and charge us the original 69 amount but keep in mind we had ALREADY been charged that amount. He explains that the previous 2 charges should be fully gone and voided so we agree and pay a THIRD time because he says it should be voided within the next hour at most. We also do ask if we could just get a refund, and he explained that he couldn't and needed to charge us for the whole meal because thats "how the system works". So at the end of the night we are out over 100 dollars due to their mistake that could have been avoided had they not put extra drinks on our tab. I will add that the night we went wasnt busy at all so I wasnt sure how this happened. Update: it's day 5 and we still have not gotten a refund. The charge is still pending. Keep this in mind we did go in person to find another way to possibly resolve this & their customer service was HORRIBLE. The manager laughed it off and told us "sorry next time we'll make sure to put the right drinks on the right tab". He didnt seem remorseful and had no intention of making the situation right. Its been almost a week since that day and we managed to get the charge for our check finalized but not the mischarged tab off of our account. read more

The staff were super nice. My friend got the veggie burger and it was the best burger I've had in my life. I forgot to take a picture of it. I got the shrimp and peaches, which was good, not great . The fries had a great homemade kind of taste read more

Fun vibe inside industrial laid back, order at the bar find a seat inside or out, comfy couches, bar area and tables. Loved the burger, shared Goup dip and fries, lots of drinks available, and non alcoholic options. read more
