I returned feeling hopeful pre Tiger game... I ordered seasonal sangria and garlic fries. And was informed it would be about 10-15 minutes. I got my sangria. It wasn't too bad... it had been about 25 minutes and I inquired about the fries. Well, I was informed that the large party that took my order of fries. It didn't help that whoever brought the food out just brought it to the large group/table and did call out the order. The young man that was at the counter, was able to get me some fries however they were old and really greasy. As I waited for the fries they offered plantains, I said why not.... Well I will just make them at home-- they didn't drain the grease. They were just four big plantains that I dabbed with paper towel. Ultimately, I just left after taking a few bites from each dish and having about 1/2 of my sangria.

The food here was amazing, absolutely obsessed. Prices are very fair and the atmosphere is very clean and well kept. Service was also super quick and very nice here. Would definitely go back!

Came for Sunday brunch right when they opened after reading all the excellent reviews. The chorizo burger, loco style add jalapeños was really delicious, though it was too loaded and saucy to effectively eat in hand. Definitely needed the utensils! The garlic cilantro fries were super crisp and well-seasoned, and the conch fritters tasted amazing and had great texture! The coconut cream and passionfruit batidos are sweet and delicious, but the hibiscus lemonade was a tad too strong/sour and needed to be cut with some water. The churros with chocolate sauce are insanely massive and absolutely scrumptious. "Best churro I ever ate" -- my dining group. Now to the one star deduction- the cleanliness of the tables, floor, and especially the bathrooms were seriously lacking. Don't know if it was a "who closed last night?" situation or what, but needs addressing.

Stopped into Frita Batidos which is located in such a cute spot in Detroit! The food was great and so were the batidos! I can't wait to go back and get the fries again

Frita Batidos Detroit is an okay post game meal or snack. There is no parking since it's on a walkable street. The theme is very minimalistic. It works great for big groups with the long style benches and line ordering. The customer service was attentive and helpful. The staff did a great job at explaining the food. My group ended up getting the Pick Your Frita where shoestring fries are included in the burger and toppings were a la carte. My Chicken Frita was good even if I had to eat it with a fork and knife cause it was so loaded and messy. The chicken was well seasoned. However, the fries on my sandwich were a bit soggy. We didn't have to wait long and were served pretty quickly. Not a bad option for a quick bite after a game.

I stopped here after work for happy hour. I've been eyeing this place for a while and have heard great things about them. I came the 1st time and enjoy them so much I came back. The menu is very reasonably priced so don't worry about your bank account. The happy hour specials are good and I can't wait to come back again. I enjoyed the chicken verde bowl over rice. I wasn't expecting it to be much but it's a decent size cup with a healthy amount of food to eat. I couldn't finish it because I had already gulp down my garlic cilantro fries. I had a happy hour margarita which was only $4, not bad at all. I got an order of 2 churros but these are not your typical churros. These things are gigantic cinnamon, sugar donuts. They're about the size of a baby lizard. They had entirely too much sugar/cinnamon coating and it was definitely a surprise when I open my bag to see what I had. Are churros different in Cuban cuisine? Seating is 1st come, 1st seated at picnic style tables. They have napkins and condiments in the center of the table. Bathrooms are gender neutral, one stall rooms. I'll be back soon. You should come, too.

Ordered a chocolate batido, very rich. Very yummy! Charming location off Columbia Street. Service quick and accommodating.

Fun, vegan friendly restaurant and bar we visited after a show. I don't think I'd make a special trip here because parking is nonexistent, but if in the area I'll be back. Noticed they do have a liquor license with a decent size bar. NA coconut and lime sodas tonight. It was sprite with the hint of coconut. Small food order that was a build your own tofu and bean bowl. Had lettuce and rice inside. Side order of garlic and cilantro fries. Both very flavorful and perfect portions. The young woman who helped us was friendly and knowledgeable. Pointed us to a vegan friendly menu too. Love their use of compostable cups, straws, and dishes.

Great cuban, huge wonderful drinks, churros were not only good there huge

Huge churros, great cuban, wonderfully made drinks, service was good even though they were a little busy, won't hesitate to return, has a upbeat little tropical ambiance. Prices were worth it.

Fun little spot downtown with great outdoor seating. Staff was friendly. Food was delish & drinks were refreshing. Couldn't ask for a better post Detroit sporting event dinner spot.

Awesome food here. The chorizo frita is soo good as is the fish frita. Garlic fries are on point and the coconut batido and churro is a must try. Good service as always and really cool fun decor. Definitely a must try.

Delicious! The burger with the red sauce from the table was so saucy and greasy and good! I loved every bite of the delicious chorizo burger with cheese and egg added on top. The cheese idk if is essential but the egg is. Once it oozes the yolk it really amplifies the burger. The coconut cream shake is incredibly refreshing. Nice service. Bright windows that light up the whole place. Right by the tigers game and better than anything inside.

You may not even need ketchup actually. French onion - this burger was good. Came with some onion rings kinda on the side. It was cooked medium and they got it pretty right with the temp. The cheese was melted well and it was seasoned pretty good also. Blt - this was a good BLT and it was very stacked. I'm not sure if you can make it out from the picture but it had plenty of everything on here. The bacon tasted great. Wow... what a BEAUTIFUL restaurant. At first glance, as I…read morearrived at valet, I was genuinely proud to see this Black-owned brick-and-mortar in person for the first time. Unfortunately, I did not anticipate that it would also be the last. The valet attendant was attentive and professional, and the host staff greeted me as I walked in. So far, so good! The bar wasn't busy, but I figured it was still kind of early and things could liven up. I was meeting friends for a birthday toast, and they were already seated at the bar. When I approached, we were very excited to see one another, so naturally, we took a moment to catch up. I noticed there was one bartender in the service well who was busy making drinks and therefore understandably unable to greet me. There was another bartender conversing with patrons standing next to my barstool and another bartender on the far end. Now, as someone with a background in food & beverage, I naturally exercise patience in casual dining atmospheres because service can be a little laxed--which isn't necessarily a bad thing. I'm not expecting the bartender to teleport across the room because I walked in. However, in this case, after greeting my friends, we wanted to do a round of shots in honor of the birthday girl. After several minutes, we still had not been approached by a bartender. Not to mention, the bartender conversing just to my right was STILL carrying on with the same gentlemen patrons. After a continued wait, the birthday girl decided to flag down the bartender, who acknowledged us with eye contact... ...and then continued her conversation. Ma'am. That was very unprofessional, but we were in such great spirits that we decided to overlook it and try to get the attention of a different bartender. Now, hindsight being 20/20, we should've left right then. This same bartender, standing not even 3 feet away from us, eventually finished her conversation and walked away. She actually ended up standing at the service well in plain sight of us, where she then pulled out her cellphone to devote some obviously much-needed quality screen time. We were in utter shock. Within a few moments, the bartender originally on the far end of the bar had made her way to our side to take a new set of patrons' order who had just appeared to my right. Once again, the birthday girl calls out and asks if it would be possible for her to assist us when she was done. To our dismay, the lady looks at us with absolutely ZERO emotion and simply states, "Yea." Not exactly the response we expected, but hey... it's Detroit. We are natives, although I no longer live locally, so we know customer service isn't necessarily the city's strongest suit. ‍ After Ms. Dead Emotions prepared drinks for the new set of patrons, she followed suit with the previous bartender and walked over to the service well for some R&R with Screen Time Girl. And THAT was the moment we realized these bartenders did not come to work... They came to clock in. At this point, I decided to ask for a manager. The nice woman I approached asked me what it was regarding, and I explained what we had experienced and told her it was disappointing, to say the least. She seemed rational and understanding and offered to send a waitress to the bar to serve us. I thanked her and went back to my seat. It was obvious that the bartenders had been made aware of my grievances because their demeanors and facial expressions suddenly had a LOT to say. At that point, we realized training, support, and customer service may be an unrecognized area of opportunity by upper management. The server was busy with tables but eventually made her way over. She seemed very nice. However, by that point, we had decided we would leave. As we sat there conversing about this unbelievable experience and discussing other bars we could go to instead, a few patrons walked up to our side of the bar to introduce themselves and ask about our plans and whether we would stick around to have a drink with them. When we informed them we were leaving, they asked why. We gave them the short version as we prepared to leave. Sadly, they weren't surprised--but they offered AGAIN to make it right. Imagine customers offering to make it right. ‍ Just before leaving, one of our group stepped away to the restroom. At that point, Screen Time finally walked up and, exasperatedly, asked if we wanted anything. IKYFL. The birthday girl, who is sweet-natured, was understandably disappointed, so I decided, you know what? We'll take a shot for the road. A simple Don Julio Repo shot took longer than it should have... ...but the bill came IMMEDIATELY. And, of course, an automatic 20% gratuity was the cherry on top. At this point, all I could do was laugh. Beautiful restaurant. Great first impression. Unfortunately, the actual experience was a completely different story. WE WILL NOT BE BACK.
