I had just gotten into Detroit from NJ and was debating hitting the Tigers vs. Red Sox game that night, but decided to slow it down, walk around, and grab a real meal instead of rushing it. The place sits at a 4.2 on Yelp and leans into the film's iconic line. After checking out photos, I was all-in on getting a burger--but ended up pivoting. Walking in, it's clean with a rustic vibe. On the left, two large monitors cycle through the menu (a little fast, honestly), but the QR code helps you actually read it without pressure. You order at the counter, pay, grab a number, and they bring the food to your table. Simple, smooth setup. The menu's full of character-inspired names, which is a nice touch. I went with the Royale Fries & Brisket--seasoned fries topped with 18-hour smoked brisket, smoked Gouda cheese fondue, coleslaw, and honey-ancho BBQ sauce. Good move, especially since I wasn't in the mood for a bun. The brisket had great flavor but could've been a bit more generous. The fries, though, carried. They had that curly-fry-style seasoning (even if they didn't fully commit to the curl), and the combo of BBQ, slaw, and Gouda worked. I'd come back just for that. I was ready to skip dessert... until I saw people walking out with shakes. Not a huge selection, but cereal-inspired flavors--CEREAL. I got the Cinnamon Toast Crunch shake. Easy recommendation. On the way out, I grabbed a s'mores cookie and saved it for later that night. Soft, gooey center, marshmallow, Hershey's chocolate in the middle, and a full graham cracker on the bottom. I've had s'mores cookies in NYC and back home in NJ--this one hit. Really good. Staff was friendly and easygoing. Quick story: there's a sign telling you not to touch the cookies because the marshmallow sticks to the wrapper. I asked about it, got the explanation... and still did it anyway. Ended up scraping (and yeah, licking) it off. Zero regrets. Shoutout to the chefs, owners, and staff. We had the brisket fries for the appetizer, all three of the specialties drinks and would recommend the strawberry, pineapple and dragon fruit in those order but it's my preference. We need a quick bite and Royale was close and to be cheesy, I like the theme. We walked in and the cook was at the door- he then held the door for us an hopped behind the counter. We ordered the Southwest Royale Wrap, Kruncher Burger, Vincent Vega (a classic fried chicken sandwich), and the Mushroom Onion Swiss Burger with Cajun fries. Royale with cheese may just be Detroits hidden gem. Tucked in midtown is this restaurant! Super cool right from the bat because it's all brought to life from one of the most iconic movie quotes ever, in Pulp Fiction! So there's decor from the film everywhere and the menu items are slogans and quotes from the movie, pretty cool. That being said everything does have a super cool and BOLD twist to it! We tried a lot and absolutely everything was incredible. Mac & cheese bites are super flavorful and moist, not dry like most places. Grilled cheese & tomato soup is next level and the perfect flavor combo!! The ravioli is a MUST try!!! & don't skip on the KRUNCHER SPICY BURGER (not pictured) the best thing on the menu!! We went here for a quick and easy weekend dinner before the Orchestra. This place was pretty packed - we got one of the last two tables and it took about 20 minutes to get our food. It was topped with corn and a mix of peppers along with kettle-cooked japapeno chips and possibly some fritos. There was a ton of queso slathered on, dripping all over the tray. This was all on a high quality, fluffy bun. (4/5) Vincent Vega ($9) - For some reason, the chicken patty was cut in half even though I didn't think it needed to be cut. The patty itself was thin and breaded very evenly with a uniform thickness as if done by an industrial machine. If you had told me this was a pre-breaded food service patty, I would have believed you. It was on the dry side, although it was probably due to the thinness of the patty. I'm not really sure what made it a "Cuban Fried Chicken" The pickles were also kind of limp and soggy rather than being crisp. I wasn't a huge fan of this one. (2/5) Royale Fries Fresh Herb and Garlic-Parmesan ($4) - These are very unique fries, kind of curved like a potato chip but much thicker. The thickness is not uniform so there are areas that are crunchier throughout like a chip and some areas with a still fluffy interior. The parmesan flavor really comes through as a topping, although it seemed like a pre-grated Kraft parmesan cheese (5/5) Stick with the burgers and fries here and you won't be disappointed. read more

I could eat an entire tray of their Garlic & Parm fries alone, but I did get 'Just a Burger' and some of their Tomato Basil soup, which I won't lie, I was worried would be really bland, but it was amazing! It had so much flavor and was so thick and creamy. I ended up dipping my fries in it to finish it off. My burger itself was cooked perfectly and has the best grilled flavor I've had on a burger in a while. My partner got the Mia Wallace and wolfed down every single bite and he also tried the Cookie Crumble Shake and sipped that until the straw hit the bottom. Went to the DIA with the kids and decided to go try this restaurant. The name and decor plays off the Pulp Fiction line about "you know what they call a quarter pounder in France?" The lils had 'Lil Burgers' which came with smiley fries and a drink for $6 which is a pretty good deal for a pretty good burger. They also had the Cookie Butter and Nutella shake which was really quite something. My oldest and I split their Handmade deep-fried Doritos Ravioli filled with Jalapeño Nacho Cheese, served on 'New World' Roasted Tomato Sauce. It was just okay, the sauce being the best part. We also split the "All Up In Your Grill" Cheese Sandwich which consisted of "Cheese fondue, smoked gouda, parmesan, fried egg, turkey bacon served with roasted tomato basil soup." We skipped the turkey bacon. We also had a side of the garlic and parmesan, herb fries. These could have been warmer. It was also just okay. The soup was good but also wasn't hot enough. And it was a little strange that the mains came on metal trays and the appetizers were on regular, rectangular plates, but the soup was in a disposable plastic 'takeout' container. Some of the upkeep could have been better too. No napkins in the dispenser. I asked for more and got a stingy few more. I ended up using tp from the restroom too. What can I say, kids are messy? We weren't being wasteful. Otherwise the service was fine and relatively quick. I give it a 3.5, rounds to 4, mostly on the strength of their signature burgers.
