I love a good urban diner, King's was open the morning after Christmas. Excellent American breakfast, I rarely get to eat fluffy buttery no-fiber pancakes and real meat sausage because I'm an old man who needs to start the day out with oatmeal. High octane American coffee, and they serve up a good plate of grits as a side for eggs. The waitress was excellent. Prices are good for downtown, and the quality. read more

Decided to dine here due to the reviews. I actually walked a half mile to the restaurant. The waiter was very nice and provided great service. The food was very below average. Personally I could do a better job at home. I asked for scramble eggs and cheese. My eggs were scramble with a slice of cheese on top. See pictures. The French toast was horrible. I can not describe the taste. I even tried eating a second piece. See pictures. The waiter was nice and refunded my money for the french toast. Got a carry out grilled chicken Greek salad. First it was so fresh and huge. The grilled chicken was beautifully cooked. I asked for no tomatoes and got no tomatoes. Asked for a few extra beets, got them. Second time ordering from here and I'll be back. The first time I Door Dashed my salad and this time I picked it up, after I figured out parking, its not great. The inside was neat and clean. The gal that took my order over the phone was the same one who greeted me and rang me up. She was super kind. Maybe next time I'll eat in restaurant. We had breakfast here, sat in. Asked for a coke and a water. Never got the coke, was still billed for it. When we pointed it out, the cashier checked our table to make sure we were being honest. Our food sat in the "ready window" for a solid 3 mins before it was ran, when the waitress approached it to bring to the table, she was just finish eating with her fingers before grabbing the plate. Lastly, we both had stomach issues after the meal. It is our first bad experience there out of two times trying the place. Its a little on the high side but you do get a really good sized portion, so it is worth it. I vote "maybe" on this because you may have a great experience, just so happened that my last experience was not pleasant on four accounts so I will likely pass next time we "vote" on where to eat. read more

Their prices are high. I've never paid $18.00 for a salad at coney island. The lady I spoke to didn't give me an estimated time or total after placing my order. I should of called back to ask but I didn't expect a salad to be $18. read more

Love a great find open since 1990 flew passed hundreds of times no parking me thought, finally drove around back a dozen spots paved lot. Think just maybe a great big sign PARK IN REAR as many eating spots have would help. The interior booths design be Middle Eastern style really comfortable and clean. Expansive menu choices for a Coney Island with fantastic lunch specials that come with your drink choice, fries or salad and full sandwich like 7 bucks on the cheap. I had the 2 Detroit Classic Coney Dogs with Coffee n Salad. Wife a Double Damn Corned Beef, Salad n Ice Tea. Waitress suggest anything Chicken OMG had Marinaded Grilled Chicken Pita wrap so moist and flavorful. Love the place looking forward to another visit really soon. This has become my new go-to coney when I don't feel like dealing with the parking, or the - *ahem* - interesting late night crowd at Detroit One Coney island in Midtown. Located on Fort near Trumbull, across from the Post office. I passed Coney King by many times, always unsure of what I'd find inside, as it's not on the most robust strip of Fort ever. What really convinced me to give them a go was receiving their menu tucked in the handle of my door one day. Looked like they had good stuff, so I gave them a try with my customary coney order - a grilled chicken salad. I was pleasantly surprised! Since then, I've been there a number of times and tried a few sandwiches and soups as well - all tasty, good portions, and reasonable prices. It's clean as a whistle inside, which might be helped by the fact that the majority of their business seems to come from carry out orders. Not a ton of street parking but it's never that crowded either. The service is always efficient, but friendliness depends on which waitress helps you - the brunette is a sweet heart but the blonde is kind of a shrew. 24 hours, close by, good food, in and out quick. 24 hour Coney Island across the street from the post office. Great place to stop by for breakfast or a snack after hitting the bars or casinos. They usually have fresh cake on the counter for a nice snack. Serving sizes are generous. Late night wait staff are friendly and sociable. $5 min for credit cards, I believe they have delivery available during the day. read more
