What is this

Talk about shitty service like the people that work in the front the nighttime are more concerned about their baby daddydramas that literally the person is clicking refresh on all the to make sure that whoever they back right on the but not worried about trying to get my food order right it's ridiculous. Like talk about a shitty service if you worked at McDonald's, you would not be on your phone so tell your employees to get off their phone. It's called Work.

The "Finest" Club sandwich.

I was hungry and saw this new place that opened up in the space of the old BK. People were walking there on lunch. They have everything!!!! I had a huge club sandwich combo . They also have a drive-thru. The staff was friendly. I will be back.

Sante fa wrap

Angel, was especially welcoming and attentive throughout the meal. The food was excellent. We shared three starters, and each one was delicious, but the blue crab with waffles was the standout for us. The combination was memorable and easily our favorite dish of the night. The cocktails are worth trying, too--they were exceptional and made the meal feel like a treat. Between the food, the drinks, the atmosphere, and Angel's thoughtful service, this restaurant is well worth a visit.

The theme was "Yes, Chef: An exploration of culinary icons through a cocktail lens." Each drink was inspired by or dedicated to a famous culinary icon, and you can read about each one in the index. We each ordered one drink from each section. From the Opening, I chose the Diaspora Club, which was so refreshing and delicious. Then from the Principals, I chose the Chingona, which was a little bit spicy and savory but still so refreshing. To Finish, I chose the Chocolatier Cosmo, which came with a tiny house-made salted dark chocolate. I loved all three cocktails I ordered, especially the chocolatier cosmo because it was perfectly sweet and went so well with the small piece of chocolate. For food, we started off with the crispy pork belly milk bread. For my entree, I ordered the miso butter gnocchi. It was kind of on the salty side but I still really liked it. The apple sofrito added a bit of sweetness to it. For dessert, we had to get the rhubarb coffee cake, which came with strawberry ice cream. Omg one of the best desserts I've ever had!! I never thought of combining cinnamon coffee cake with rhubarb or strawberry but it's perfect, and I might have to make something like that soon. Service was great and we were seated right away at 8pm on a Saturday despite not having a reservation. Food and drinks came out promptly and timed perfectly. We spent about 1.5 hours here and we never felt rushed.

However the real gripe about service was regarding that we brought our kid and the only item on the menu was buttered noodles. That is okay, but after a few bites, even my kid who doesn't know many words informed us it was too oily and stopped eating. We wanted to buy something nearby and bring it back so he could have food, as he wouldn't eat the other items that we ordered. However, after multiple attempts, we were denied outside food or drink, solely for the kid. The restaurant's inflexibility because of their own dish being too oily and buttery, resulting in our kid being mostly hungry for the duration of our dinner . In terms of the dishes we ordered, the taste was unique for some dishes and average for others. We ordered cabbage, beef tartare, seafood pasta, and halibut. Of those dishes, surprisingly, the cabbage was the most flavorful and unique, and we rated it an easy 5 out of 5, as we never knew cabbage could taste so unique and tender. The beef tartare was good, but nothing special, as I think other restaurants serving beef tartare would taste about the same. The seafood pasta was interesting, as it had a slight crisp to it, but other than that, there were just a few pieces of octopus, which made it unique but not overly so. The halibut was tender, I'll give it that, and they prepared it in a unique bean sauce, which was also good and light. But again, nothing that beats halibut that I've had at other restaurants. The ambiance was dimly lit, packed. Plenty of servers and managers walking around. People were obviously well dressed. We sat in a corner, a dark and very cold area, so much so that we needed to put on something heavier. It is not a small dining area. The kitchen you can see on the way to the restroom was bright, well-lit, and open, with plenty of workers and chefs. The plating was pretty good, the service was quick. The food came out pretty quickly as well. However, it is a 1 to 2-hour dining experience. I don't think I would come back, as I don't think the flavor profile, service, and ambiance matched my expectation of this commonly noted number one restaurant in Detroit.

Even on a Monday night at 8:00pm, they were busy, which I think says a lot. The menu is small but intentional. Their staples are staples for a reason, and the servers are so personable that talking with them almost feels like running into an old friend. We each ordered a drink, the Brussels (always, we don't care what we get for a main), and shared the burger and campanelle. You're probably never going to be blown away by a burger, but you know a good burger from a bad one. This was a GOOD burger. The campanelle though... we could not stop talking about it. Genuinely addicting and easily the standout of the night. So happy this place exists in Detroit. We'll keep coming back.

We arrived on this misty evening around 8pm, into the dim, candlelit space with upbeat music playing. We were asked promptly if we had a reservation-- did not, so we were promptly seated at the counter, across from the bar-- which was actually less crowded than the section on the floor with tables. Onto the food, I had fries that were nicely salted, and covered in a curry spice. They were decent but nothing spectacular. I would also describe my burger this way. The best part of it was the perfectly toasted and buttery bun-- but I find it overconfident to serve a burger without any toppings-- just a sauce that was apparently blended with pickles that I couldn't really taste. The burger was seasoned well enough...plenty of pepper, but it was all one texture, I didn't pick up any searing or anything to make the texture less one note. I asked my server for extra sauce, mustard, and ketchup to make it better. My friend recommended this spot specifically for the burger so I'm willing to say, I just ordered the wrong thing maybe. Onto the desert, the corn tiramisu caught my eye as something unique to try and it was truly an experience. It made me laugh out loud cause it was strange unexpected food experience in both flavor and presentation, I enjoyed it, but wouldn't order it again persay. It came out in a little whipped pile covered in cornflakes with green jalapeño jelly. I appreciated the richness and that it wasn't too sweet-- but overall I'd enjoy it more if it was presented more neatly, and there was a bit more spice on the plate to cut through said richness, although to their the deep sweet and earthy flavored of jalapeños was captured perfectly in the gel.

We were seated at a nice booth in the back where it was a little quieter than in the front. Unfortunately, the table was very wide, so it was hard to reach the condiments and silverware that were in the basket at the edge of the table. Our server asked what we wanted to drink & we wanted iced tea, but they didn't have any. No iced tea? We were shocked. So, we just had water. The server brought 3 empty glasses and a carafe of water, and it was a little bit of a struggle to reach it. Two of us ordered the parmesan chicken and the other person ordered the whitefish. While the coating on the fish and chicken were good, neither the chicken nor the fish itself were seasoned, so the overall taste was kind of bland. The green beans were cooked nicely -- still had the nice snap, but not much flavor. On the other hand, the flavor of the mashed potatoes was very good, but they weren't particularly warm. When I made the reservation online, it asked if there was anything special that they should know. I mentioned that it was the birthday celebration for someone in our party. They didn't recognize it any way. Would I come back here? Maybe. But I would probably order a burger or pizza instead.

Once we gave our name to the hostess we were seated immediately. Our waiter was very professional and kind. He offered us a sparkling water called FILETTE and it was the BEST I've ever tasted. You can literally taste the quality! Mind you..... I've tried so many sparkling waters and haven't liked a single one. Come to find out from our waiter that the owner of the restaurant gets filette from Italy! Definitely an amazing investment hands down! For appetizer we had the bread and oil along with the grilled octopus. Our waiter cut up the octopus and made our plates for us, which was nice yet unexpected and it all tasted fantastic. We shared the lamb rack and the crab&saffron risotto entrees and both were PHENOMENALLY OUT OF THIS WORLD! The squash blossom landed beautifully on the palate and complemented the risotto so well. And as for the lamb, the cook and seasoning were perfect to thee TEE! They melted right in my mouth with every bite. And all the additional sides were paired amazingly as well. After being closed a year the new owners opened it back up as a craft slider "bar". There is nothing fancy about this restaurant. Its decor is basic wood tables and chairs in the center with booths lining one side of the space and a bar on the other. The staff are casual about you being there - there is no fanfare. When we arrived, we checked in at the host stand to get our names on the wait list. They text you when your table is ready. The place was full when we got there but the turnover was quick. We didn't wait more than 10 minutes and were seated in a booth. The menu is all sliders on one side and fries, salads, and sweets on the other. Fairly simple and the prices are beyond reasonable. The server told us most people get 3 sliders and fries. I did that plus I got a Moscow Mule to drink - it was only $5! I chose the Double Cheeseburger, Spicy Crispy Chicken (with a slice of provolone added), Olive Burger, and the Truffle Fries. Everything is served as soon as it's made so your items arrive at different times, which was fine by me. Each slider was served in its own cardboard "dish". Again, nothing fancy. The Olive Burger was really good - served with green olives and cheese on top of a beef burger. I liked the saltiness of the olives - it added to the total taste in a positive way. The Double Cheeseburger was actually pretty big so I would just get the single next time. And the Spicy Crispy Chicken was recommended by our server. He suggested adding the provolone slice, which I did. That was basically a buffalo chicken sandwich. And it was good! The truffle fries were excellent - you could really taste the truffle seasoning/oil. I also liked that they were the skinny type of fries. This is the type of independent restaurant I'm always looking for - one that sticks to its theme and does an excellent job of it. I'll definitely be back!
