Easy parking. Super friendly guys working there. Lots of gluten free donuts left at 10:30 although they said the rate they sell varies. The chocolate gluten free donut was very tasty and had a nice texture for a cake donut. It was basically a cupcake with a hole in the middle. Just moved to town and had passed by this place a few times. So decided to try it. Horrible. Walked in and gentleman working barely spoke, had a scowl on his face and acted like I was interrupting his day by making a purchase. I picked a glazed donut and custard filled chocolate icing. Went out tocar to enjoy and it was like biting into a half baked piece of bread. It wasn't cooked all the way. Maybe that's why thecall it a dough nut. Even if it is supposed to be glazed bread, at least bake it fully. We ate about 4 bites of each and threw them out. Definitely a waste of money. read more

I've been vegan for a long time, and in that time I'd nearly given up hope on finding a good, truly good, maple bar. The maple bar and chai donut from this place are PHENOMENAL. They give you the same satisfaction and guilty-pleasure you'd otherwise get from any regular non-vegan donut. On top of that, the pricing is completely reasonable for what you're getting. I always see the sign on my way to Juniper Park and thought I'll have to check the place one day which happened to be today. Nice little shop, friendly staff. I was informed they also have gluten-free and vegan options, which was good to know. I ordered 2 maple bars, a dozen donut holes and an apple fritter. The fritter was fresh, delicious and just sweet enough. I planned on eating only half but I was weak and ate the whole thing. Definitely not proud of myself...haha. The kids loved the donut holes and maple bars. Next time I'm getting a peach fritter. Love everything about this place, Their prices are a little high though. read more

We came in around 11:00 and heard the guy behind the counter telling the person in front of us that the donuts in the case were the leftovers from their other location across town. Understandable business practice, not the best way to make me excited about your donuts. There is very limited seating. Only 5 of 6 bar stools along tiny counters in the corners. A clear sign this is not a place to come and spend some time enjoying your donut. Order, leave, then eat. They had an okay mix of the classics (maple bar, glaze twist, etc.) and trendy (salted caramel) but nothing really made this place stand out. Hmmm... Coming from Portland I have become quite the doughnut snob.... I felt like I was in a spin off of a not so creative Voo Doo as I walked through the door. I was hesitant about what doughnut to choose. Went with the french toast and let me tell you, I was presently surprised!! Very good doughnuts! Not sure why the poor reviews.. Some vengeful person must have some kind of personal vendetta against the owner of this shop or an employee. I really can't wrap my head around the negative reviews. The Dough Nut makes some of the best donuts I've ever had. Anywhere. This includes Top Pot in Seattle and The Big O in SLC. (Voodoo is nowhere near this list cuz their donuts are nothing more than generic tasting crap with creative names and decorations) The Dough Nut's donuts are more dense than the generic stuff you'll find in a grocery store or run-of-the-mill donut shop. And this is a good thing. There is supposed to be "dough" in a doughnut right?! The flavors taste like they should. Some shops call their donuts chai this or banana that... But their flavor is in the title only. Not The Dough Nut--their flavors taste like their namesakes and the Dough Nut does this very well. I'd give them 5 stars if they'd work on their website (which sucks, especially the mobile version) and improve the hole-in-the wall atmosphere in their stores.
