We just completed the Puppy Basic Obedience Course for our 4.5 months old Miniature Red Poodle with Marie. Marie is a true Dog Master who loves what she does! We are so happy we found her on Yelp! She is very knowledgeable in her craft. Her lessons were clear and concise (for both the dog and human). Marie is an excellent teacher and we highly recommend her!!! read more

I also found Marie on Yelp when I knew I would be getting a miniature schnauzer puppy after losing our beloved Max the schnauzer last December. I wrote to Marie ahead of time to let her know I wanted to engage her services. Marie was very responsive and helpful. A couple of months later when Baxter had joined us, Marie began training us a lot, oh and him a little :-) Being big Cesar Millan fans and believers, we were pleased that Marie also believes in pack leader psychology and using calm assertive energy to achieve calm submission in dogs. So we had 6 sessions with Marie and the learning curve we have seen in Baxter is awesome. So now it is up to us to continue the techniques and mental discipline Marie taught us. All of that said, our experience with Marie was as good as it gets. She is extremely skilled, communicates well, and has an obvious love for all dogs. She listened to our issues and had good solutions. We got along great with Marie and look forward to having her back for some "refresher" work as needed. Employ Marie's services and you will be very pleased. We really like Marie and cannot say enough good things about her. Thank you very very much Marie! read more

Marie is a wonderful dog and people trainer! She is professional, patient, and very effective. She is flexible, too! Marie made puppy training fun and manageable, even with our super energetic 4-month Goldendoodle. We are looking forward to working with Marie in the near future for advanced training. I highly recommend her! read more

Marie you are spectacular at what you do! We started off a bit worried because Jax did not welcome you the first day (my fault), but you didn't give up and we thank you for that! And to see you and Jax become buddies was amazing. Thank you for providing us with the right tools to communicate and bond with our 8 month old Doberman. We noticed the change immediately! The most important lesson we learned was to continue with the commands everyday. Before you came to us we hesitated taking Jax for walks, because he would get out of control, and it was hard for my Husband and son to settle him down, so I didn't even dare walk him in fear of him empowering me. After Marie showed us the right way to walk him and how to adjust our attitude, it made walking Jax so much easier. I'm happy to say that I can now walk with Jax on my own and enjoy our time together!!! We would definitely recommend Marie to anyone who is looking for DogMaster training! read more

I highly recommend Marie Bymaster, The DogMaster. I met her when she was volunteering her time to work with shelter dogs with issues. Marie's mission was to make these dogs adoptable. I found her to be extremely knowledgable and to have a special connection with them. They know they can trust her and they strive to please. Since then, I have always consulted Marie for any issues with my dogs or client dogs. She is the BEST! read more

I found Marie on Yelp. She is a fantastic dog trainer and an even better human trainer. In just a few short minutes after meeting Marie, my puppy was already responding positively to his name, come, and sit. Absolutely amazing. Marie is very thorough and helps to lay out the lesson plans and objectives. She makes learning how to be a good pack leader incredibly easy. I look forward to continuing the training with my pup and follow up refresher/advanced lessons with Marie in the near future. read more

Marie is an expert in her field and has truly changed our lives with our two rambunctious labradors. Though they are five years old; they act like puppies. She taught them and us how to live together in a more peaceful and manageable yet very fun lifestyle. My boys and I went into this dog training project knowing we needed a change - we needed our dogs to follow our directions and be calm enough to walk around the block. As Marie worked with us and them and coached us on how to give them commands and make them accountable for follow through- things started to happen and miraculously change. Now our dogs can walk around the house calmly staying in only the allowed places and staying off the furniture. We can walk them without feeling nervous about their unexpected actions and we can communicate with them and they follow directions. Marie made our family feel comfortable in this whole process. She is easy to talk to and genuinely wants us to get to our goals. I don't think you could find a better partner in dog training and lifestyle management with your dogs than this expert. Our family is so much better for having reached out to the true Dog Master : ) read more

My family and I had the best training experience with Marie. We rescued our dog Lola (a 7 1/2 year old chihuahua mix) in January of this year and since she was our first dog ever, we had very little knowledge of even basic commands. But more importantly, we didn't know how to change or curb certain behaviors such as excessive barking at anybody coming to the door and then our teenage son too at times. Marie taught us everything we needed to know and now we not only understand our dog better, we have the tools to help her with any anxiety she might be feeling. The barking has decreased, she's developing a better bond with our son, and she's an even more happy dog! We definitely owe a big thanks to Marie! We appreciate the lessons and all your help! read more

I found Marie on Yelp and looked at her website and realized she was the perfect trainer for my dog Clover. Not only is Marie a dog lover and passionate about what she does, but she was able to cater the training to my dog's needs as well as, and more importantly, my areas of growth as a dog owner. Before Marie, my dog would bark excessively at any and everything, not listen, have accidents in the house, and would snap at other dogs. However, now she is much more calm, obedient, and more easily socializes with other dogs. As an owner, I am more confident and less anxious about my dog's behavior, which in term puts my dog at ease. Everyone has commented that she is like a new dog. Marie is exceptionally patient and extremely knowledgeable. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking to transform their dog and themselves as a dog owner !!!! read more

Marie is the BEST Dog trainer ever! I found Marie through Yelp reviews and they are all true. She is AMAZING! Marie trained Bruno my English bulldog how to sit, stay, walk on a leash, stopped the puppy biting and aggressive behavior all with positive reinforcement. She help Bruno become a great addition to my family and also taught me how to be the leader of the pack! I will continue to keep in touch with Marie to get additional help for Bruno. I would like to teach him how to skateboard. She also has great recommendations for Vets, pet shops and grooming. She's very passionate with her training and at the end of the session she presents you with a framed Certificate of Completion. Her training is a lot of fun! read more

Marie Trained my Keeshond, Sport when he was 9 months old. He is now 18 months. The wonderful tips Marie taught us have made Sport into an amazing show dog and pet. He is well behaved and we can take him anywhere. The breeder was so impressed with his behavior that she wanted him back! (Which of course will never happen.) Marie and her kind and gentle way of teaching are outstanding. I will call her back when I get my next puppy. read more

As a first time dog owner, my boyfriend and I needed a lot of guidance. I was weary of which trainers to go to until I found Marie on yelp and looked at her website. I love the fact that she uses positive reinforcement to train our dog Kovu. In the beginning, Kovu, a 7 months terrier mix, was a handful. Now after 4 sessions, he's learned useful commands that are a great foundation to build our relationship as parent and pet. We realize that Kovu won't be completely obedient after just 4 sessions... we need to continue to practice every day to build that trust. I'm confident that with the knowledge Marie taught us and our consistent training, Kovu will succeed to be a gentle and confident dog. Thank you Marie for being so wonderful to our family and I wish you great success! read more

We just finished 4 sessions of training with Marie for our little 6 lb chihuahua/terrier, Charlie. We wanted to hone in on his skills and help with a few issues we had been having with him, including barking and getting along with other dogs. After our sessions, I now feel equipped to handle him at dog parks and having him be social with other dogs, and I haven't gotten out the dog collar in over a month!! Charlie is behaving so much better because I feel more competent and in control of the situation. Marie is amazing, patient, always arrived on time and was such a pleasure to work with. Thank you so much for your help Marie!! read more

My family and I needed help with training our puppy German Sheppard and found Marie on Yelp. This is the first dog we have had as a family, and as a result we needed as much training as our puppy Riley did. Marie was the perfect trainer for our Riley and for us. Her approach was just what we needed, and allowed each of us to work with Riley during the training session at our home, in his familiar environment. Having all four of us involved in the training was critical as it helped make sure we were all on the same page and training him consistently. One of my issues was him laying on the couches. We decided as a family that he was not to be allowed on the couches anymore. I thought it would take a long time to train that out of him, but the reality it was just a matter of getting us all on the same page. It took just a few days to train that out of him and he hasn't tried to get on the couch since. Marie was firm yet loving with Riley, and broke down the steps of training in a way that was so easy to apply. We completed our last of 4 scheduled sessions with Marie yesterday, but certainly will reach out to her as needed in the weeks and months to come, particularly when it comes to summertime and teaching him how to swim in our pool. We can't wait! Thank you, Marie, for all your help! I recommend Marie to anyone who needs help--especially for families who all want to be involved in having a great relationship with their dog! read more

I ended up getting an 8 week old tibetan mastiff a few months back and was having lots of trouble containing her overall "puppiness." It was difficult to get her attention let alone her cooperation. I eventually gave Marie a call and she was at our home the next week getting our little puppy to sit and take direction. We just finished our last class with Marie today and we are more than pleased to say that our puppy has become significantly more attuned to our commands and just a pleasure to be around. Marie is truly a professional and overall pleasure to be around. She is sensitive to the unique traits of each dog and tailors her training to each individual. I thought it was going to be impossible to get our little puppy to behave, but after four weeks of training, she has improved by leaps and bounds and the dynamics of our entire home have improved as well. read more

Marie is an excellent dog trainer. We adopted a rescue Max, who was very hyper. After Marie gave us guidance and worked with Max, I see a huge difference in his behavior. He is much calmer and understands boundaries. I would highly recommend Marie. She's awesome!! read more

When we got our new little Morkie we wanted to start her out right. Marie was recommended to us by our dog groomer and we couldn't have asked for a better experience for us and our little Maisie ! GIve a man a fish, you feed them for a day. Teach a man how to fish, you feed them for a lifetime. Marie's training goes through both philosophies. She both trains your dog and teaching you how to train your dog. She'll introduces many of the basic commands to the dogs so that they have a starting point to train from, but she'll also show you how to issue and teach the commands yourself so you have an example to follow. Marie encourages you to engage in your dog's learning, working with you, working with your dogs, and most importantly, getting you to work with your dogs. read more

Whoo Hoo is right!!!! Marie really is a DogMaster. Thank you for all of your patience, knowledge and training. You certainly have a gift with dogs (and people). If you're looking for a trainer, I can't imagine how you could beat Marie! read more

We were referred to Marie by a friend of mine for obedience training for our new pup Hoshi (Shiba Inu). To most people who've owned this breed, you know what we were up against so we definitely needed some training! Marie came to our home for four training sessions and after the first training session, we were quite amazed on how well Hoshi responded to the commands we both were learning. As the weeks progressed, we saw phenomenal results with the training we (my gf and I) as well as Hoshi was receiving. We were skeptical of how Hoshi would react to the training as most people on blogs and websites were saying that Shibas were very difficult to train. With Marie's help, we put that skepticism to rest. If anyone is looking for a great trainer for their dogs, do not hesitate to contact her as she is very good at what she does! She's not called "The DogMaster" for nothing! Thanks, Marie! I'm sure we'll be keeping in touch! read more

Great to work with Marie. Very professional and gave us the tools to train our dog. Would definitely recommend her.

I have three Beagles. Two of them are older and have been through training before but had a bad case of selective hearing. The other is a 7 month old puppy. Marie came in and easily worked with all three at the same time. The older ones has remembered how to listen and the puppy has learned manners. Marie is wonderful and patient. I am beyond pleased with the training she provided. Quick results and clear instructions for homework with the dogs. read more

Our pup just completed the Basic Puppy Obedience course with Marie. She is amazing and truly knows how to work with dogs. Marie explained and modeled how to follow commands (sit, down, drop it, focus, heal, leave it, take it, wait, etc.). We were pleasantly surprised with how quickly Greta picked up the commands/hand movements. We now have the tools to continue working with Greta. We highly recommend Marie, she is patient, kind, and professional! read more

From the initial contact with Marie to our last session of Basic Obedience Course, she has shown not only what a warm and loving trainer she is but a very genuine and honest woman. She's a good listener and personalizes her training to accommodate both the animal and the owner. Our 13 week old Border Collie has been a handful, but with Marie's steady hand and professional advice, he's become a welcomed member of our family. Thank you, Marie, for teaching us that patience and consistency works every time. read more

I met Marie when trying to place some abandonded dogs. She came to meet the dogs as the professional appraiser to qualify the dogs for adoption. The way the dogs took to her right away was amazing. You could tell that the dogs knew she was a leader. These dogs were completely untrained and within 2 minutes she had them sitting on command. It was a pleasure to watch!! The end of the story is the sweetist part. Marie was so taken by these two lost souls that she adopted them herself and they now have the best home possible!! read more

I found Marie on Yelp when looking for a dog trainer. After reading all of the positive reviews and looking at her background I decided to ask for her help. My fiancee and I rescued a Min Pin mix about 2 weeks before calling Marie. She had a bit of separation anxiety and was unable to be left alone or she would start crying nonstop very loudly. Along with wanting the help with the anxiety, we wanted to get started on basic obedience. When Marie made her first visit, she was very thorough in understanding our current situation and our dog's behaviors to assess the best methods of training for us. She quickly made us feel empowered and more knowledgeable. Through the 4 weeks of training, she gave us homework and made adjustments in training where needed (if our dog needed more time or if she was quickly progressing). I truly believe that Marie helped us take our rescued, timid and once submissive dog and give her a new perspective on her furever home. Our dog now knows things such as bow, "leave it", shake and other things that she did not know coming into this. As for the separation anxiety, Marie passed on her knowledge and gave us helpful tips to continue to making progress on the issue. In the short time, there has already been a positive change in our dog's behavior when we are away. I highly recommend her to anyone looking to start obedience training or even someone who has had a dog for a while and needs refreshers. read more

Marie came to our home for four training sessions with our puppy. Her help was invaluable. She was patient with us, and honest with regard to our need to commit to everything we learned. Marie is firm, but warm, and a great communicator. She was available via phone, text, and e-mail to answer questions between sessions. Additionally, we appreciated that she left clear, written directions in order for us to practice what we learned between sessions. We still refer to her handouts while we continue to work on training. Marie was enthusiastic, fun, and our puppy was completely transfixed by her. The pictures that show the dogs looking up at her, so attentive, are a fantastic visual of how our puppy was just so interested in what she was teaching. Additionally, we had a graduation ceremony with a little certificate of completion, pictures, and a toy as a graduation present. So thoughtful, and a great way to end the lessons. We were sorry when they ended!!! Thanks, Marie, for everything you taught us! read more

What can I say here that will help you understand how special and important Marie is. There really isn't any words. I have watched the Dog Whisperer for years....And as much as I love him for how he loves dogs he does not hold a candle to Marie. I found Marie her on Yelp after reading her reviews from her clients. I have a 13 year old mixed breed Rottweiler, Chloe, and me and my boyfriend just adopted a pure bred Rottweiler, Bentley, in March whom is 4 and a half months old.....and whom I have waited my entire life for. We have had five sessions with Marie and already she has changed our lives...although life is so busy and chaotic she probably has absolutely no idea how much she has done for us. She walks in my house and Bentley literally stands at attention and whimpers at her feet....the level of respect my baby has for this woman is insurmountable. She has taught us things about dog behavior and handling that has drastically improved our quality of life with our four legged babies. She has the patience of a saint as each lesson includes practice with myself and four other children. She has taught my 8 year old son how to handle our Rottweiler with love and sternness. I can lay my head down at night knowing she has given him....and us...the very tools we need to ensure a safe and happy family despite the stigmas of Bentleys breed. And to top it all off she makes sure to give my 13 yr old Rottie, Chloe, lots of love and goodies too!!! Marie has become a part of our family and although she thinks her training lasts for just a few initial months we know we will keep her here for a lot longer than that! Do not waste your time looking for someone else. She will accept love and teach your baby as if it were her very own.... read more

Marie did an excellent job with me and the dog. Scooter just finished his 4 week puppy basic obedience training and the difference is phenomenal! Marie knows her stuff and it would behoove you to hire her! Overall an excellent experience. She helped change my habits and taught me to train him. He is a much happier dog now that I have brought structure and discipline into his life. I can't thank Marie enough! Well worth it. read more

Marie was a true pleasure to work with and showed the utmost care and patience for not only myself but also for my dog. She worked with my family (which has quite an array of personalities) and helped us all learn consistent training techniques for my dog. The techniques provided were engaging for the dog and for me. My dog, an Australian Shepherd, has high energy and a desire to learn but he can be stubborn if not engaged appropriately. Marie provided us with the tools for myself, my family and Frankie (my dog). We were VERY happy with the results. I would strongly recommend Marie for you or your dog's training needs. read more

Marie is a wonderful person and trainer. After spending several days searching for a dog trainer and being unsuccessful. My husband and I decided to give Yelp a try. When we came across Marie's page, we immediately contacted her because of the good reviews. Plus she offered at home training which was great for us. Marie trained our German Shepherd when he was four months. We were really amazed on how easily our pup picked up all the commands and really enjoyed Marie's company. We were and are still very pleased with her services. Not only did our puppy learn but we did too. Now our German Shepherd puppy is 10 months old and he still knows all of his commands. We would definitely recommend Marie to train your pet. She's very knowledgeable, professional and overall great. Thank you Marie. read more

We contacted Marie based on her yelp reviews, and we were not disappointed. We adopted a 6 month old Silky Terrier (Peanut) who would bark incessantly whenever strangers came into our house. On Marie's first visit, Peanut barked at Marie with a stiff and defensive posture. Marie gave us the basic tools and commands to establish the pack leader relationship with Peanut, and after 4 sessions, Peanut still barked at Marie when she entered, but was relaxed and wagging her tail. She was even responding to her commands and taking treats out of her hand, which she would not do at all during the first two sessions. Marie is very knowledgeable about how dogs interact with people and each other, so she not only gave us the mechanical tools, but the theory behind the commands, praise, and tone of voice for each behavior. Marie is also very responsive to emails and phone calls, which is so helpful with our busy schedules. Finally, Marie didn't judge us on our mistakes as doggie parents, just gave us guidance to help us be better. I highly recommend Marie to anyone who needs help or just wants to improve their relationship with their dogs!!! read more
