I absolutely love Sunset Veterinary and most importantly, it's Quinn and Harley approved! They're so attentive and truly take the time to know my girls by name. I really appreciate how transparent and honest they are with pricing. Having a personal, trusting relationship with your vet is everything, and I'm so grateful we found them. Thank you Dr. An and the whole staff

Technicians showing so much love to our fur babies

A long overdue review for a truly exceptional veterinary clinic. I have been bringing my Pomeranian, Maltipoo, and Poodle to Sunset Vet for some time now, and I am consistently impressed by the level of care and compassion shown by every member of the team. From the moment you walk in, you can feel that the staff genuinely love animals and treat each pet as if they were their own. Dr. An is one of the most dedicated and thoughtful veterinarians I've ever met. He takes the time to thoroughly explain any concerns, answer all of my questions, and most importantly, he always follows up to check on how my pets are doing after a visit. That level of attention and care is rare and deeply appreciated. Over the years, I've been to many veterinary offices, but Sunset Vet is truly in a class of its own. Their professionalism, kindness, and consistent follow-through make all the difference. It's clear that this clinic prioritizes both the health of their furry patients and the peace of mind of pet owners. I'm so grateful to have found a place where my pets are not only well cared for but genuinely loved.

We loved Dr. An and his staff!!! They were so professional and so caring! We appreciated he wasn't pushy for certain services. He was gentle with the dogs!! Highly recommended!! They are definitely our new vet!!

    Stoney being curious

Thank you Dr. Phil and everyone working there!! Stoney needed a check up and he was very well taken care of. The staff and Dr are all incredible. I live about 30 miles away and I don't mind making the drive out to Diamond Bar for Stoney to be seen. My previous dog was seen by Dr. An for many years. I spent $$$$ at other vet locations who misdiagnosed Tubby, and charged me ridiculous amount of money for medication. When I finally changed to Dr. An at another location he was working at, he wanted me to try out a different type of food and simple methods to see if things would change. I knew if I had another pet after Tubby, he would be the veterinarian for us again. Thank you!!

Best Vet clinic I've ever been to. Love how they call pet parents "mama"! Staff are compassionate and friendly and Doctor is kind and very professional. I'm so glad we found this clinic!

Thank you for everything We all tried our best.

They deserve all the stars in the world! This review comes with a heavy heart. My son Kobe has just recently past. I started to go to SVC when they first open I believe back in 2022. I was so frustrated with my baby's skin allergies. I've been to multiple vets and did multiple blood test, tried multiple meds and nothing helped. It didn't help my son never likes to go to the vet. Until, I found Sunset Veterinary Center. The staff are amazing and wonderful. They are very friendly and love my son. He would go to the vet at easy. Before he would shiver and refused to go. Since he's been with Dr. An and his staff, he has been very happy and don't mind going to the vet. He knew the protocol of stepping on the scale getting his weight and entering the rooms. What I love about this office is that they don't push you for treatment. They explain things throughly and all mentions certain things can get quite expensive. My baby had the worst allergy. No matter what I do his skin was horrifying and I had no idea what to do. Mind you he was probably 11 years old. When I first visited SVC. Previously his skin was fine. So we did a blood allergy test. I was warned by Dr. A that an allergy test was costly and that the results aren't always accurate. Turns out my son was allergic to everything in this world besides corn, chicken and lamb. I tried to cut down everything from his diet. And that wasn't left with much. But we pulled through his skin started to look better under Dr. An's treatments. Dr. An is friendly and patient. Every time I comeback. I always make the joke. My son is allergic to life. Since he's allergic to everything and keep growing in age. He's about 13.5 years old. He always listens to all my concerns and have a treatment plan that is explained throughly. He doesn't upscale his vet services. He takes time out to explain each one and why it's needed. We've tried so many different meds and antibiotics because of my son's skin infection/ allergy. He also tells me oh this med Cetirizine is Zyrtec so you can buy this outside no need for me to prescribe since it over the counter. My son's favorite tech of all time is always Carol! She lovely and always baby's him. She always baby talk him. Which I guess that's why he loves her so much. She treats him well and gives him a lot of pets and affections. My son usually don't follow anyone. But he ended up following Carol every time. Whether it's to the back for treatment or into the exam rooms. That says a lot that Carol treats him so well. He's willing to follow her. Knowing she won't harm or hurt him. My sons's next favorite would be Terry. Terry has always been very nice and friendly. He's always very patient and treat my son very well. He sometimes follow Terry but not all the time. Sometimes I would need to help them walk him to the back. Terry also treats my son very well. Terry always helps me to trim Kobe's nail. My boy refused to let mommy do the cutting. All in all, his staff are amazing. They treat your pet as their own and show them love and affection unlike most vet places. Now the heart breaking part. Kobe has been having some problems with pancreatitis. I had to take him to an Emergency vet else where and when SVC was within office hours I brought him back to them. When I picked him up from the other vet Kobe wasn't really happy. When we go to the other ER bet he was anxious and restless. I dropped him off at SVC to be hospitalized around 9am. And picked him up at 4pm. When I picked him up from SVC he was full of energy. Very happy and excited. It was as if he went on a play date instead of being hospitalized. That's how much he enjoyed his time with every single person at SVC. Sadly, he had to be hospitalized at another ER because it was after hours and had passed on. However, I'll surely be back and recommend SVC to everyone for how much and truly they care about your pet. Highly recommend! I've been going to SVC for about 2 years, so everyone here is like family. I appreciate all the efforts they have made to help my son. I thank them for giving him an ease to go to the vet. And I appreciate they gave him love and affection in his final days. Thank you for everything

I've brought my dog here twice, once for a wellness exam and the other for a vaccine. The first time I think I waited about 30 minutes since the vet was in surgery according to the front desk, which is fine, except it felt like our appointment was super rushed. He quickly looked at my pup and was about to end the visit before I asked if we could get labs done and ask him a few questions about my concerns. He didn't once ask me if I had any concerns, just said she looked good. I thought it was strange that he didn't suggest labs considering she was a new patient. My dog was 10 years old at the time, so labs should have been suggested considering she is a senior. Anyways, they ended up giving me a discount because of the wait. However I don't think that should have meant a discount in quality of care too? My biggest gripe is the lack of communication. Every vet I've taken my dog to has given me an update when labs come back (typically through a message in the online portal), even if they're all good, and the labs are quickly uploaded onto the online portal so I can see it. Sunshine vet has an online portal that they seem to not use. After waiting 2 weeks after getting my dogs labs done, I hadn't heard from the doctor so I had to call and ask for the results. Additionally, the doctors notes were not uploaded or given to me, so I called for that a few months after the visit and although it had been months, they did not have the notes on hand. I ended up having to ask again a few days later before they sent them to me. That also does not give me confidence in them since they don't have their patient's records readily available. Another huge drawback is that they charge a tech fee for shots. I space out my dogs shots so it's completely unreasonable for me to pay an additional $20(? can't remember the exact fee but it was somewhere around there) every time I take her in for a shot. Overall, a strange experience that did not make me feel comfortable. I expect good communication and documents to be accessible at the bare minimum.

Grand Animal Hospital was offering a $200 off Dental Cleaning Special. For Grade 1 or 2, the price would be $696.75. For Grade 3 or 4, the price would be $797.75. This price was very reasonable compared to other quotes I received. I made an appointment. The vet examined the dog and determined that it would cost $797.75. This price included an exam, bloodwork, anesthesia, teeth scaling and polishing, pain injection, antibiotic injection, and three different medications to take home. I left her there around 11 am and picked her up around 3 pm. As you can see by these pictures, they did an incredible job! The staff was so nice and answered my many questions. She started to sneeze a lot yesterday and it looked like she was trying to get something out of it. Since our regular vet didn't have any appointments, I scheduled a same day visit at Grand Animal Hospital. The doctor (an Indian female, though she never introduced herself or gave her name) examined my dog very briefly which literally just a couple of seconds and said she wanted to order an X-ray and bloodwork to check her white blood cell count. I asked if she could check inside my dog's nose for a possible foreign object. She said she couldn't because it would require putting my dog under anesthesia. I then asked if an X-ray would show a foreign body, and she told me no, it would only show structural issues, which was not my main concern. However, shortly after, she contradicted herself and said the X-ray could show a foreign object. She also said the bloodwork would show inflammation, but my dog's nose was already visibly swollen inside and bleeding, so inflammation was obvious. When I tried to explain that the inside of her nose looked swollen, she interrupted me and said, "there is no swelling, everything looks normal," without even properly examining her. My dog is a Pomeranian with Alopecia X (hair loss), which is a very common condition in this breed. When the doctor saw my dog has no hair, she looked suprised. The doctor seemed unfamiliar with it and suggested my dog must be mixed, which is incorrect. I also mentioned that my dog has itchy skin on her sides, but the doctor ignored this concern and instead just said she didn't see any fleas, which makes no sense since my dog has almost no hair. At the end of the visit, she said a nurse would bring an estimate for the X-ray and bloodwork. When the estimate came out, there was an additional test for upper respiratory infection that the doctor had never mentioned. The total estimate was around $1100 for only x ray and 2 blood work. This is the most expensive hospital ever. Overall, I felt like the doctor did not listen to my concerns, did not perform a proper exam, and was more focused on ordering tests than addressing the actual issue. Because of this, my husband and I decided not to proceed with any of the recommended tests and left. Unfortunately, the visit still cost $59, which felt like a complete waste given the lack of care and knowledge. The nurse was nice and waiting time was quick.

I visited on January 30 for my cat Elliott to consult about dental issues and a possible tooth extraction, and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience with Dr. Choi. He arrived about 45 minutes late and did not initially apologize. We understood delays can happen and moved forward with discussing our cat's condition. However, when we asked about the risks of a tooth extraction, his response was, "Well, any cat can die here, we don't know," delivered with no empathy or reassurance. He then brushed off several of our questions and quickly asked if we had anything else, making the interaction feel rushed. Later, he mentioned our cat might have an eye condition. When we asked for clarification about what that meant, he told us, "You can Google it," which was shocking and unhelpful. We were considering proceeding with this clinic for a $1,000-$2,000 extraction, but this experience left us uncomfortable. I've never encountered a doctor who seemed so dismissive, lacking compassion and clear communication, especially during a short appointment that lasted only about 10 minutes. This veterinary clinic apparently used to be a privately owned clinic which is now corporate-run. Regardless, there is no place for doctors to lack the basic empathy and compassion to provide care to animals. This experience truly left me speechless. After visiting another doctor at another clinic who was truly compassionate and made our concerns feel heard, I decided to proceed with dental extractions there. I would advise not consulting or visiting this clinic!

We have not yet had the chance to check out the pet hotel/resort as our pup is not neutered yet, which is one of the requirements, so that's still TBD.
