My daughter came to visit from Arizona with her cane corso. Unfortunately we noticed she was having severe allergies along with an ear infection. We searched for a reasonable and good vet office near us. Upon looking and researching TLC Animal Clinic popped up. We decided to book especially having a $25 office visit which is great! Upon arriving we greeted and was taken back by Vet technician Jackie. She was extremely pleasant and professional and loved that she was very engaged with our concerns. We then had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Vasquez who was amazing! We have had bad luck with various vets in the area who are always pressed on time, and take very little time to listen, and address our concerns. She was very knowledgeable and provides us with great insight and information to ensure our daughter's pet was healthy. The whole team was great and took very good care of our pet! I absolutely love TLC Animal Clinic for my golden doodle Gracie! I highly recommend TLC Veterinary Clinic for your pets medical needs. I've been taking Gracie for over a year and the vets are so knowledgeable and kind with her. The front staff are professional and kind. But a shout out to their manager Stephanie: the desk staff need some help answering phones calls and assisting vets! I was put on hold for 10 minutes just to ask a question, and it was faster for me to drive to the clinic than to continue being on hold. When I got there, staff ( there were two) were helping in the back rooms with vets and trying to answer questions on the phone, and taking new calls. Get these hard working people some support!!! I've been coming here for years with my various pets and I have no issue with the doctors but the last two appointments have been really unorganized and upsetting with the front desk. They also are constantly confused with my account and are not very professional on the phone. With the first appointment, they must have told me the wrong time or input it into the system wrong but when I arrived they told me I was one hour early and blamed it on me. Thankfully they were still able to see my pet. With the second appointment, they waited until almost the last minute to tell me they were cancelling my appointment because they were going to be closed. They are a great hospital. And whoever complains about Stephanie has to be a serial complainer. That lady is close to animal sainthood. She has helped homeless animals, shelter animals and provides the community with tons of resources and help. She took in our mama feral cat. Nobody else would dare take her because she was severely feral. And I feared she would be put down. The entire staff helped raise her kittens. Who went on to be healthy thriving kittens. And Mama got spayed and released. They have saved countless animals and take them home with her daily. The entire staff is very knowledgeable and all been in the field for a very long time. The only thing I don't like is that this place is owned by a predatory veterinary equity firm that only cares about money and hikes prices. They also seem understaffed. I brought my Afghan Hound to TLC Animal Clinic after a foxtail removal, but within a week, he was still having concerning symptoms. Dr. Erin Park and the entire staff took my concerns seriously and acted quickly. They sedated him to do a full ear exam and deep cleaning, which allowed them to fully assess the ear and begin treatment for infection and inflammation. The visit included the consultation, sedation, ear cleaning, medications (both oral antibiotics and topical ear drops), and an anti-inflammatory injection. The total cost for everything was around $490. The staff was kind, patient, and very professional. I felt completely at ease knowing my dog was being fully cared for. I'm grateful they didn't dismiss my concerns and instead took the time to make sure nothing was overlooked. I'm at my wits end with all of the consecutive negative experiences since Dr. Kim left: I have been a loyal client of TLC Animal Clinic since 2010, but ever since the management and staff changed, the quality of service has gone downhill. Their disorganization and lack of accountability have been extremely frustrating. Recently, they conveniently "lost" the receipt proving that I paid for an exam, yet they somehow have records of the vaccines and medications I was prescribed--which logically could not have been given without an exam. When I asked for flea and tick medication, they refused, claiming I had not had an exam, despite the fact that I was prescribed medication just a few months ago. They are now insisting I pay for another exam just to get the same prescription, which is absolutely ridiculous. The new staff is inexperienced and careless. My dog used to be comfortable here, but under this new management over the past 2 years, the staff stresses him out and handles him roughly. At one point, I walked into the back to comfort my dog and witnessed the staff literally strangling him. Since then, I refuse to let them take my dog to the back without me. To make matters worse, during one of my dog's Cytopoint injections, an elderly vet tech squirted the medication on his fur instead of injecting it properly. I later realized my dog was still itching, which made me question how many other times they've mishandled his treatments. The previous team, led by Dr. Kim, was far more skilled and professional. Now, it feels like this clinic is more focused on forcing unnecessary exams and payments rather than actually providing quality care. Sadly, after years of trusting this clinic, I can no longer recommend them. We had the toughest time trying to research where to spay our female canine French bulldog in Los Angeles. We are so glad we were referred to this Veterinary clinic. Even though we are 45 min drive away, it is definitely worth the drive. They use laser technology for incisions which is the best. Dr. Kim is very skilled and knowledgeable. Everyone from receptionist to assistants and vets really care about your pets and are treated so well. Our Frenchie loves all the pats and behind the ear scratches she receives. They also have plenty of rooms so if your dog is reactive to other animals they get you into a room right away. They also have the cleanest floors and rooms, they take a break during lunch to sanitize waiting room and exam rooms. Especially with the widespread illness going around for dogs, it's nice to know you're walking into safe clean areas. They don't try to upsell you anything and will answer any question you have. They are all patient and respectful to everybody. Thanks for taking care of us TLC Pet Clinic! We also asked to do Stenotic Nares (opening nasal passage) surgery while going under, again they use laser technology so best for this type of surgery. Everything from top to bottom is a nightmare. Stephanie and Jackie aren't capable of communicating to clients and it's impossible to even get a call back. I spoke with Jackie and she told me that Stephanie (manager) is too busy (it's been 48 hours after Jackie told me she would call me the next day in the am). Also, if you have a scheduled appointment you can expect to wait over an hour. Lastly, your concern for your pet is not their's. I explained to the nurse that my dog wasn't putting any pressure on his right front leg and this was completely ignored. Still haven't received a call back. UPDATE: I just called the phone number Julie O. asked me to call and you guessed it! I was told Stephanie (manager) was too busy to take my call. I guess this is how their entire operation is operated. Furthermore, I took my dog to a different vet this past Saturday and the vet there explained to me that my dog has zero feeling in his front right leg. She was amazed how many appointments I had with TLC without a diagnosis and how much money I was wasted by going there to get arthritis injections. I highly recommend everyone stay away from this vet. UPDATE #2: First and foremost I have never spoken with a Julie O. but it sounds like Stephanie (manager) is using her account. I'm not sure why someone would do this unless they're attempting to impersonate someone else. Secondly, I did speak with Stephanie late Friday afternoon because I never received a call Thursday or Friday morning so I called in yet again but was told she was too busy. Ultimately, she finally called me back late Friday afternoon. When she called she did apologize but had no reasoning as to why she didn't call me first thing Friday or communicate for her team to contact me to let me know. Also, she passed blame on Dr. Park for telling me a vet had to administer my dogs injections. Furthermore, when I called Monday after Julie O.'s original response, it was only then a partial refund was processed. I would highly recommend everyone stay away from TLC. The manager is using an executives yelp account, passes blame on the head vet (Dr. Park), and the last time I saw Stephanie she was playing on her cell phone sitting on the curb outside the clinic. I am new to the area and searched through a list of vet clinics/hospitals and this place had the best reviews and close proximity to my residence. I brought my feline in to get her examined and current with vaccines. Upon arrival the lobby area is open and clean! I came in during the morning and there was no problem checking in. The receptionist was friendly and created a new account within a few minutes. The receptionist led me to the exam room and I was seen by the doctor shortly after. He was very professional, thorough and gentle towards my cat and answered questions and concerns I had. A vet tech then came and administered appropriate tests avaccines and that concluded my visit. I spent no longer that 30 minutes for my appointment. For convenience, appointment requests can be made online, and you can be seen within a day or so. This place a bit on the pricier side, but it is worth it. Great staff and facility. read more

Communication needs improvement big time. We were lied to about pricing, and not treated for what we came for, my dog's ear. We were told he has fleas, given meds that clearly disrupt his system, cost a fortune, and I will never go back to this vet. They also said his ear is fine and a couple of weeks later, it is smelling like cheese and has more going on. They wanted to charge a $55 "recheck." Absolutely not. You check a dog's ear and treat it, not act like something isn't wrong, and ask to come back for a recheck to make money off people, how dare you guys! Disgusting. I called for help and they acted helpful and "apologized," but did they call back like they claimed they would to answer my questions about the medicine? NOPE! $200 out (and that was more than my dog himself cost.) read more

They'll quote you a lower price over the phone, use pet medical terminology with you in person as if we all know exactly what they mean, then charge more at check out. Always always always ask to see the final version of the quote/invoice and sign off before agreeing to care. I neglected to do this after declining some of the things that were on there, didn't ask to see the final version and sign off on it. Then I found I was charged a higher level of blood work than I said I wanted because I didn't know exactly what I was agreeing to, despite saying again and again I wanted the most basic blood work. I won't go into too much detail but after mutiple tests and vet recommendations for further tests (from relief vet Dr. Nawar), I've experienced first hand that these vets will play to your emotions for your dog and get you to pay for more unnecessary and expensive services. When does it stop?? Dr. Kim called me to talk through urine results and when I heard my dog's urinalysis was normal (Dr. Nawar originally raised concerns which prompted me to order more tests), I asked him why Dr. Nawar recommended further tests then. He said he wasn't sure. So maybe get a better relief vet, or make sure all vets are aligned. Also, it takes several attempts to get anything back from this team: test results, invoices, vet phone calls, etc. I finally got test results emailed to me and I caught something could be contradicting what Dr. Kim explained to me earlier. Dr. Lee called to clear things up, but might be best practice to send your clients all test results first before calling to discuss so you can both be looking at the same pagge. Then we can avoid all this back and forth. I keep coming back because my dog is on their records and some of their prices are cheaper, but after this incident, I'm done. A very expensive lesson learned. Overall, I like Dr. Lee, can't speak to Dr. Kim, definitely don't recommend relief vet Dr. Nawar. read more

I've been a customer at the Chino Hills TLC for a couple of months now. I'd like to first say that both Dr. Lee and Dr. Kim are incredible vetinarians. I brought my cats in for a ringworm infection (known to be a difficult infection to treat because it's a long treatment process). Both cats are now and happy. If there was a separate yelp section for the doctors, they both deserve 5 stars! Reading a couple of reviews I'd like to put my two cents in with the office manager, Sarah. I also had a terrible encounter with her. She's has no empathy for either the parents or their fur babies. I told her that my cat may have had a miscarriage from her pregnancy. I tried to make an anticipated follow up appointment (after the ER) and she refused. She rather I wait another week or so before I make the appointment?? What if there was a complication from the ER visit? I'm a nurse and if my patient wanted a follow up visit from the ER, I wouldn't turn them away. **and on their website they stated that they take emergency cases during regular business hours? Dr. Lee and Dr. Kim, along with their staff, are the best! We have 3 fur babies, two senior pups (small chihuahua Bailey and mixed Pomeranian Ari) and one young adult (reg. size Chihuahua Jax). This month, Jan. 2022, our fur babies were all hit with major needs. Dr. Lee has cared for Bailey since she got a cough in 2020. Her heart and trachea were giving her trouble. With care, he walked us through our options. Fast forward to late 2021 and early 2022 we noticed Bailey swell up, dental issues. She's high risk but needed to go under anesthesia. Dr. Lee answer all our questions and gave us so much confidence. He did wonderful! Bailey is back to herself in days. My eyes filled with tears of happiness after learning she did so well. THANK YOU FOR CARING SO MUCH AND FOR BEING SO CAREFUL!! Ari had a growing mass on her belly. Dr. Kim took swift action. Scheduled a mammary gland surgery. Again, so much care. Ari had to stay overnight, but the nurses gave so much confidence in their care (TY Frankie)! SO GRATEFUL. Ari has healed so nicely and is back to herself. They say, things happen in 3s and shortly after our two seniors had surgery, Jax hurt his back. With very limited appointments that same day, they squeezed him in for X-rays and consultation between surgery's. Dr. Kim to the rescue!! Easily articulated X-ray results and prescribed medicine. Jax is still recovering but I'm confident their expertise will direct us pawrents to do the right thing for speedy recovery. My husband and I are so incredibly grateful for their tender loving care to our fur babies! Thank you, thank you, thank you from the bottom of our hearts!!! Shelby, Bethany and everyone at the front desk who shows so much care and doesn't bat an eye at my teary eyes before and after procedures, thank you! I brought my cat in because she had been vomiting. Andrew Nawar was the vet who saw her. He was robotic, impersonable, and just came off like he did not care or want to be there at all. He barely checked her and insists I take her to a very specific place for ultra sounds (this was our second visit with him for different reasons, yet he gave the same recommendation?). He must have some sort of affiliation with that hospital. He did not even try to suggest alternative foods or medications that could help - I had to ask for a prescription. The food he prescribed was not even for digestive or gut health. He called the next day to give me her results. Said everything from the blood and urine tests were normal and asked again if I scheduled the ultra sound yet. I asked him why can't he prescribe a gastrointestinal specific cat food. He kept saying he can't because he doesn't have the diagnosis without the ultrasound. He also kept reiterating that he will be out for two weeks and if I want to try that food I should come back for a recheck with the other vets. Thanks for nothing. You'd think vets would show more compassion towards your pets and suggest alternative methods that could help instead of trying to get you to spend over a thousand dollars just for a specialist to take a look. A quick search online says even if it is IBS, diet plays a big role in managing it. Don't waste your money seeing Andrew Nawar. He'll just push you to that animal hospital in Yorba Linda where he likely gets a commission from. read more

Nope. Absolutely done. I've been bringing my babies here for eight or nine years. Long enough to have seen the expansion. Four different dogs, two or three cats... vaccinations, checkups, tummy issues, nail trims, teeth cleaning, surgery... I've had damn near everything done here. But something happened in the last couple of years that has driven the quality here into the ground, and Dr. Kim should be ashamed of what's become of his practice. Have an appointment? Doesn't matter, they won't see you until 15-20 minutes after, if you're lucky. Don't have an appointment? Don't bother, they no longer take walk-ins. Made an appointment? Better hope they didn't screw up your appointment and put the wrong info in. The good front desk people are gone and you're left with people who don't know how to multitask, provide crap service, and in some cases just flat out don't know what the hell they're doing. At my last appointment I found that the person I spoke on the phone with made my appointment incorrectly, and they couldn't/wouldn't even give the needed vaccinations to one of my dogs because "they didn't have time" to see her, to correct their mistake. And it took 20 minutes after my appointment time to even tell me that. Dr. Kim is still good, if you wait long enough to see him... but I won't any longer. This place is AMAZING. I first came a few years ago when a different vet had written my pup off as beyond help due to his health conditions. That other vet was charging me thousands of dollars per treatment with a six month prognosis. I came to TLC after a friend recommended me, and after one visit and one treatment later, my pup's problem was completely fixed. Since then, I've brought my pup in every time something happens. A few months ago, he was bitten by coyotes and shaken around. He had huge holes where the coyote had bit him, he couldn't walk, and his stomach was SO swollen! I immediately brought him in to see Dr. Kim and by the next day, my pup was almost as good as new. I can't even tell he's been bitten! And he's already 10.. Trust me, the pricing here is unbeatable too. In the beginning, I tried to get price quotes from other vets to see which place was the cheapest, but this place is the most affordable by FAR. And the best quality vets. I feel like they're genuinely just trying to help the animals, not even really trying to make money.. 10/10 RECOMMEND!!! read more

I've been taking my dog here for years and yesterday was the day we decided we will not be a returning client. We've repeatedly had problems with this vet but we always came back for our dog's sake. I ordered nexgard from petco and they state that the fastest way to get approval is for the vet to call and do a verbal approval to the pharmacy. I had someone call because I was at work to ask them to please call to give the pharmacy his prescription because my dog needs it. The front desk girl already has an attitude and says they don't do that but just this once we'll call. A few hours pass so I decide to contact petco to see if they got the approval only to find out they canceled my order and I ask why and they said the vet denied the order. I had to place a new order and I call the vet to ask again for them to approve it because it's literally just nexgard my dog needs. Turns out they never even called either. It's already the end of day by this time so we contact tlc again and it's always these front desk receptionist that got a bad attitude and start back talking to their clients which is quite appalling. If you can't handle angry clients and constantly put them on hold then you need to find a different job. I don't know why it's so difficult to do 1 simple task which is to call and approve the rx medicine or even emailing my dog's prescription. So we'll see by next week if they even called or if they're petty and deny it. We've not only had problems with these receptionist gossiping in the past but issues with the vets before. I won't name call. When we took our cat in they couldn't even examine her and said she needs to be sedated, needs an xray, needs to stay overnight etc. when she didn't even need all that. We already know how much that bill is going to come out too. Overall, the experience we had at tlc was never great, there were times we went in and the vets were helpful to my dogs but that's like 1 in 20x for all these years. My kitten died during neutering, and all they did was say irresponsible things about not waking up from anesthesia and no compensation. The irresponsible doctor tried to avoid responsibility by claiming that he wasn't even the owner of this hospital, even though he had caused the death of my kitten. My family is still grieving. When I told my neighbors I would get my kitten vaccinated and neutered in this hospital, they advised me not to go. And I should have taken that advice. This hospital is the worst. I brought my first daschund there for her puppy shots and the people were very nice. They all loved my puppy and it was a great experience overall. However, I got another daschund puppy from a sketchy breeder and brought her to TLC for her puppy package. I did one around of shots with her and took her back in a few days later I brought her back and she they diagnosed her with pnomonia which I paid them for this visit + medicine. After about a week she died of distemper. I don't blame TLC for her death But when I called them and said she passed away and I was hoping to get a refund for the rest of the puppy package she didn't get they told me no. They said sorry we can't give your money back since she started the package etc. I was pretty shocked since I only had a good experiences with them. But anyways I had to throw a huge stink over the phone and get the owner on the phone and needless to say they reluctantly gave me a refund for part of the puppy package. I don't even think they gave me half. I was in a very sad state and this clinic which I enjoyed going to were being extremely rude about the whole thing when I just lost my puppy. I will never go back. I don't recommend this place at all and you should go somewhere else if this is how they treat customers when there is an issue. read more

Only great things to say about the doctor!!! Dr Bonghoon Lee is probably the best vet doctor in town! However, the front desk staff Sarah is really mean. Not kind at all and easy to disregard or use condescending tone or voice. Not only that they hung up on me to get off the call. Ladies people sense when you're mean on the phone. I had a bunch of question pertaining to my visit and you don't have to be so rude. Learn to be kind and make that your mantra if you are working in customer service/front reception work. You are the FACE of the hospital and vet. Especially the face of Dr Bong Hoon Lee. That means both of you should live up to that genuinely nice and professional doctor and respect your clients even on the phone. I'm sorry you had a bad and busy day but don't take it out by being short with your customers. It's clear you don't want to stay on the phone. A big thank you to Dr. Lee for being a wonderful vet. My cat Mimi was pre-diagnosed with a possible malignant mammary gland tumor. Dr. Lee took his time to answer every possible question that I had. She was already 14 at the time and the Dr. Lee recommended us a personal recommendation, that if Mimi was his cat, he would not put her through anesthesia just to figure out whether or not the tumor was cancerous since the chances of it being cancerous is very high for cats who are not spaded (around 90 something percentage). He also recommended us to not put her through surgery since she had a slight heart murmur but of course he ended that sentence with it is ultimately your choice and I will honor your decisions. His recommendation was this because putting her under can be stressful on her body and she was already pretty far along with the tumor. I think a vet who is willing to go out of his way to give a personal recommendation and not a typical "vet" recommendation says enough about where his heart stands. I also called numerously asking questions over the phone, the front desk and the vet assistants all tried their best to help answer any questions that I had. Dr. Lee also took the time out of his day to answer any and all questions that I had over the phone as well. Probably spent a total of 30 minutes talking to Dr. Lee over the few times that I did call. This just goes to show that he cares. I think as pet owners, we are always scared that our decisions isn't the "right" or "best" decision for our fur babies. But with Dr. Lee's help, I was able to make a decision that I felt was best for my cat. I put Mimi to sleep this Monday as her quality of life was dropping drastically and she wasn't eating or moving around as much. My second and final visit with the Dr. Lee, he actually did not charge me for the visit and without me even asking - I think he knew after this visit that her time was near. I have never seen such a kind gesture like this from an animal clinic. I truly believe he cares for the pets that he is seeing. Also, looking through the itemized receipt, it does not seem that their pricing is unfair - the vet assistances and the front desk also broke it down, item by item and explained what they were before I paid. I'm writing this review to share my personal experience with Dr. Lee, not the other vets at this clinic - I believe he is the one who treats cats specifically, though I am not 100% sure. Had a great experience at TLC Animal Clinic this Saturday ! Dr. Kim was super detailed during my pet's check-up and answered all my questions, really made me feel like I knew what was going on. Then Maria, one of the nurses, walked me through the cost estimate and what each part was for. She was so clear and helpful, totally put me at ease. Shoutout to Selena and Jan too, who were awesome! I used to like taking my dog to this place before Dr. Kim sold his business to a big chain veterinarian company. For the past 7 years I have always was able to call in same day to get my dogs vaccinations and it has never been an issue, it was always sure bring her in. Dr. Kim has always been great, he even called me personally when I had a issue where TLC charged us for services that I did not even ask for nor authorize. Today I called in at 3:00PM to see if I can come down anytime after 3:30PM for vaccinations and it is now by appointment only and they are completely booked for the remainder of the day. They close at 6:00PM, you do not have 5 minutes of your time to give my dog ~$300.00 worth of vaccinations. I understand making an appointment for a check up, pet is sick or injured but for a vaccinations that is silly. That is easy in and not business that does not even take the doctors time out of the day. Out of principal I am going to look to get her vaccinations somewhere else. Update: 5/6/2023 Yesterday after TLC not being able to take me in for vaccinations I found another veterinarian not much further away who was able to take me in the same day and not only did we get half our shots we got an wellness checkup on my pet as well. I will go in next week for the other half since she needed a total of 6. read more

Tender Loving Care (TLC) animals clinic, Such A nice name. As the name said Dr. Kim & his crews has gentle and caring hands. My dog has pretty particular unfriendly personality. He barks and won't let anyone touch or come near him. Unless for family members. Other veterinary hospital had to put muzzle around his mouth. But after changing to TLC, it wasn't necessary. Dr. Kim approached gently & my dog allowed him to touch and pet him. Wow !! Glad I found this place. It had a good review. No wonder. my dog had neutered operation & regular check ups & shots. I've been taking my dog to TLC for 12 years and have been extremely happy and even recommended them to others. Recently I took my dog in for a vaccine and check up, something has changed, the staff that knew my dog by name are all gone. The vet only spent 2 minutes with us, I had questions and before I could ask he was gone. They used to fax over prescriptions to Chewy, not anymore. I have to pick it up and mail it. I think they might be under new ownership. It's really a shame. read more

Last week my 18 year old Shih Tzu who was blind, deaf, and couldn't smell hurt her leg. I called TLC, who btw, has been my vet for several years to get an appt. for her. They told me they couldn't get me in until July 29 and I asked them if they were serious and I asked if they could squeeze me in and they still told me no. Long story short I did end up finding a vet but in the end I put her to sleep bc she was in pain. Does anyone have a vet that actually cares about the animals and not just the money. So sad! I am so shocked by what happened. I just want a vet that is going to go above and beyond for my animals and care about them personally. read more

I bring my cat in and tell Dr. Kim I do not like topical flea medicine for my cat as it makes her lethargic. During check out I find out I have been charged and my cat was given Bravecto (have you read the potential neurological damage it can cause??) In addition, my cat was given an ear scraping to test for scabies. The test came out negative but they decided to treat her anyway. Then why do a test? I felt it was all about the money and my cat was dosed with a steroid, a parasite treatment, a topical flea med (that I specifically said I did not like to give my cat) and I am supposed to give her ear medicine for something that resulted in a negative test. I am the one at a loss for not expressing my dismay. Actually I was kind of taken aback by the whole visit. Walked out $300 and a cat dosed with a bunch of drugs. I just wanted to find out why her ears were itchy. read more

Dr. Kim has been personally taking care of us and our senior dog Kobe since the incident with Dr. Chu above and we just want to update that we are so grateful for the patience, kindness and quality of care that TCL animal clinic has provided for us. A few months ago I believe they were short staffed so there was longer hold times on the phone and days that they were closed early but within the past few months, we notice this improving dramatically. I drive all the way from LA to Chino Hills to have my 3 dogs seen by Dr. B. Lee. First of all, he really takes the time to explain everything and you never feel rushed. He has also been so great with following up and calling back within a reasonable amount of time. He has been great about consulting me with how to care for my 3 senior aged dogs. I've been to many vets for that past 20 years and by far this has been the best one I've found so far. Also, the staff is great! They are super professional and sweet.
