Bentley and Zoe learning place with our trainer Jess!
    Alysha D.

We sent our two 9-month-old golden retriever puppies to Jess H. from Elevated Canine Academy for a 5-week board and train, and honestly, it was one of the best decisions we've ever made. Before training, our pups were super reactive to other dogs, pulled like crazy on walks, and would chase literally anything that moved in the wind. As much as I love them, it was exhausting and stressful. I was sad to send them away for 5 weeks, but from day one Jess made me feel so much better about the whole process. She explained everything clearly and reassured me that they'd be safe, loved, and cared for while learning the structure they desperately needed. One thing I absolutely loved is that Jess kept us in the loop the entire time. Every couple of days she would send photos, videos, and little updates about how things were going. It was so nice to see their happy faces and watch them improve even while they were away from us. A few days into our board and train, Jess noticed one of our pups was scratching his neck a lot. She suspected it was a yeast infection and immediately took him to the vet--she was right! She didn't just tell us about it, she took care of everything: meds, cream, and making sure he was comfortable. That extra level of care meant the world to us. Watching the videos she sent throughout the weeks was honestly incredible. You could see the changes happening--looser leashes, calmer walks, and way better focus. It was such a relief knowing progress was being made. About a week before they came home, Jess set up training sessions with us so we could learn how to keep up with everything the pups were taught. She was so patient, clear, and really made sure we felt confident handling them. It wasn't just about the dogs--it was about us too, which I really appreciated. Something else that I noticed was just how loving she was with our dogs. They weren't just "projects" to her--she clearly cared about them and treated them like her own. That gave me so much peace of mind. Now that they've been home for a week, I honestly can't believe these are the same puppies. Walks are so much easier, they're calmer, and we finally feel like we can enjoy them without constant stress. I'm excited to take them out now, which I never thought I'd say! Jess also made sure we understood the importance of consistency and practice at home. She gave us the tools and confidence to keep everything going, and I can already tell it's making all the difference. All in all, I can't recommend Jess enough. She went above and beyond in every way--training, communication, care, and love for our dogs. If you're on the fence about board and train, trust me, it's worth sending your dog to Jess. Our family is so grateful for her!

I had sent my Mal as a puppy to Elevated Canine and created a solid foundation with the assistance of Oscar. Over the years some bad habits formed, a newborn in the household came along and it was necessary we sent my mal for board and train as a refresher. Well, all I can say is I received an obedient, patient and better dog that I sent off. In just a month's work with the awesome trainers at Elevated, a MASSIVE difference was noticed. I highly encourage and recommend anyone who has been looking for somewhere to send their dog to check out Elevated Canine.

We've had our rescue doodle for a few months - a 2 year old who had been severely neglected. We tried every dog training video and "technique" we could find online and day after day, felt like we had very little influence over him. He didn't care about our personal time or space and had very little respect for us inside our own home. Being big and very strong, walking him was tough. The biggest issue was his lunging and barking at other dogs, which became a little scary. We were always on edge whenever other dogs were in earshot. His reactivity was the highest I had ever seen, so this was all new to me. We knew several people who had great results with professional trainers, and after hitting our limits with DIY, we knew we needed proper help. Elevated Canine was recommended to us, and we reached out quickly. Mark met with us at a nearby park and spent some time with our dog, showing us very quickly that he was willing to receive training. Given our very social lifestyle, Mark recommended Jess, a trainer in San Diego who trains service dogs. Red would be trained in high-traffic environments around lots of people and dogs, which was perfect for us. They had an opening quickly, so we packed his bags and said goodbye for the three-week program. Jess gave us regular updates with photos and videos of her work with Red. We were amazed at how well-behaved he was around so many people--something we could not achieve. It was also great being able to send frequent text messages with questions; Jess was graceful and acknowledged every one. The day came to pick him up, and we had a lengthy transition session with Jess and Red at the park. Part one was an academic session with just Jess, where she broke down her process, the tools she used, the terminology, and our homework. Finally, we got to see our boy. Watching her work with him was impressive, to say the least. Our efforts were clunky at first, but we've eventually gotten the hang of it. It goes without saying that having Red in our home has changed dramatically. We have a closer relationship already. He respects our time and our voices, and the air of panic is gone. He's still a reactive dog and probably always will be, but we now have a much deeper understanding of how to compose ourselves and give him the space and comfort he needs to manage his focus and relax. We both truly mean it when we say thank you to Jess for the incredible work you've done, helping us understand each other better. We're so happy to bring him into the world with us :) BONUS: The groomer recently told us he was an entirely different dog. He used to make it nearly impossible for them to work with him, and they were shocked at how easy-going he was.

I can't say good enough about ECA. Oscar and his entire team have continued to go above and beyond. Max is a Masaya's European Doberman that comes from a well established working line. He completed his first board and train with Mark (ECA) at 5 months old. Mark, I am forever grateful for the foundation you laid with Max and showing me the way. Since then I've continued to train working on everything Mark has taught me. Max recently went back to work with Oscar for a second board and train at 10 months old where OB was the focus and working off leash with e collar. Building that confidence in not only myself but Max as well. His future is bright with ECA and the sky is the limit. ECA has become family. If you're looking for that professional company that truly cares for the well being of your dog and can take their training to the next level this is the place.

I'm so glad I gave my dog to the right hands. I know my husky had the best time of her life with her and Jess took her time to learn her as well as training her. My husky finally learned to recall with her. qShe's an amazing trainer, I would recommend her to anyone esp dogs that prefer women. Huskys are hard to train but it's possible because Jess did it better than me! The money was worth it, it was an investment for my dog and myself. Thank you Jess for this amazing transformation it really made my life easier to be able to take my dog with me in public areas

5 Stars - Outstanding Results with Our Cane Corso, Thanks to Oscar and Elevated Canine Academy! We brought our 6-month-old Cane Corso, Ghost, to Elevated Canine Academy after realizing we needed expert guidance to manage his size, energy, and strong personality. From the moment we connected with Oscar, we knew we were in the right hands. He was professional, attentive, and truly passionate about what he does. He took the time to understand Ghost's temperament and our goals as dog owners, and he laid out a training plan that made us feel confident and supported. Oscar has a gift when it comes to working with large, powerful breeds like Cane Corsos. His balanced approach to training helped Ghost gain focus, discipline, and control without ever losing his natural spirit or confidence. The improvement we've seen in such a short time has been amazing--Ghost is more responsive, calmer in public, and his obedience has improved dramatically. Even little things like leash walking and commands around distractions have become easier. The team at Elevated Canine Academy creates an environment that's both professional and encouraging. You can tell they care deeply about every dog that comes through their program. They not only train dogs--they empower owners, too. We left every session feeling more informed, more in control, and more connected with our dog. If you're a dog owner--especially one with a strong breed like a Cane Corso--I can't recommend Elevated Canine Academy enough. Oscar has been a true partner in this journey, and we're grateful for everything he's done to help Ghost grow into a well-mannered, confident companion. Thank you, Oscar and the entire team--you've made a huge difference in our lives!

    Rocco in training!

Jess has been a life saver for our sweet (but a little crazy) boy Rocco! We rescued him at 10 months, he had no prior training and it showed. He chewed the corner of our couches, counter surfed and would lunge / attack the tv anytime it turned on. He also had barrier reactivity towards dogs and would lunge at cars and bicycles. It was rough. But Jess helped us so much by implementing tools, structure and routines that helped Rocco conquer his fears and ultimately calmed him down a lot. He no longer lunges at cars/bikes or the tv, and he's much better on leash and around other dogs in general! We are so grateful that we found Jess and couldn't have asked for a better trainer.

This is the place!!! We've tried 3 trainers before coming to Elevated Canine Academy for our high energy 1 year old rescue Chihuahua Mix, and the level of expertise is unmatched. We worked with Oscar and Logan and they are experts at their craft! After the first session, my wife and I knew this was the only place we'd be going from now on! There's no use going anywhere else, all the trainers are on another level. We're driving from Santa Monica and it's 100% worth it! Whether you have a working dog or a pet dog like our little chihuahua mix, this place is the best!

First thing first, Thank you Mark!! I heard of Elevated Canine Academy through an influencer, Celine. I signed my dog up for a 3-week board and train. Within 3 weeks, I saw a difference with my dog. She used to pull a lot on her leash, gets easily distracted and would bark at dogs all the time. Now, she walks next to me and listens. She is also able to stay in place when she sees dogs walking around. Her impulse control really improved as well. It's honestly so nice to see my dog calmer and listen to me more often. I highly recommend to sign your dog up!! Thank you again Mark!!

We cannot recommend Jess and the Elevated Canine Academy enough. During the holiday season, we were lucky to be paired with Jess for a 3 week board and train program. We have been amazed by our puppy Marty's transformation. Before working with Jess and Elevated Canine, we were mainly experiencing trouble walking with Marty. Our "walk time" would take ages, as he stopped and sniffed every single patch of grass, tugging on the leash. Other times, he would refuse to walk at all. Our main goal was to be able to enjoy walks with Marty by our side in a "heel" or "with me" position. We also wanted a refresher on his basic obedience, mainly the "come" command, while managing his (friendly) excitement when encountering other dogs in public spaces. For us, a board and train program felt like the best fit for Marty to hone in on his training and learn from a professional. We did tons of research on programs in the greater LA area, and knew we found the perfect fit when we spoke to Oscar and learned more about what the program entailed: Marty being welcomed into the comfort of a trainer's home, with 1 on 1 attention and a personalized plan. Any nerves we had about leaving our puppy behind during the holiday season disappeared when we met Jess. We felt so relieved to know Marty would be in excellent hands. Jess and Marty hit it off right away. During the initial consultation, she took the time to really understand Marty, the issues we were experiencing, and our goals for improvement. Jess is a wonderful listener and an extremely thorough, professional, and caring trainer. She answered every question we had, and did so with a smile. From the very first night in her care, we received tons of updates on how our puppy was doing and what his training looked like via text, photo, and video. We could tell right away that Marty was having the best time and learning so much. Since picking up Marty at the end of his program, we have been amazed by his growth and focus. Walks that were once tiring and stressful have become enjoyable with a puppy walking close to our side. Marty no longer stops to sniff every other minute and knows how to control his excitement when he sees other dogs. He's learned turns and manuevers to keep him nearby and focused, and we've learned how to properly communicate with him during our walks and training sessions. Jess also did a fantastic job sharpening the foundational obedience skills Marty already had, while teaching him new manners that we've been excited to continue inside our home (entering and exiting doors, the crate, the car). We have been so impressed by how attentive and focused he is now, and that his tail is wagging with this newfound confidence and training. Now, with Marty back home, we have turned to Jess's instructions and detailed videos time and time again to ensure we're following the excellent training she has put in place. Jess has reminded us time and time again that she's only a message away. We feel so excited that we have tools in place to see Marty's continued growth. We cannot recommend Jess and Elevated Canine enough. Signing Marty up for the board and train program with Jess has dramatically changed our day-to-day lives and the relationship we have with our puppy. We are so appreciative for this experience. If you are feeling stuck or hoping to improve your dog's training, the Elevated Canine team has unmatched talent with trainers who know what they're doing and truly care about your dog. We're excited to keep working with Jess and Elevated Canine in the future!

We found Elevated Canine on Social Media. I was impressed with their work and decided to give them a try. We met with Julie for our initial evaluation and opted to do board and train. We were impressed with her knowledge and how she immediately had Zeus obeying commands. She was patient, answered all of our questions and kept us informed the entire time Zeus was with her. Our 9 month GSD came back obedient with all his basic commands and more down, but most importantly she built up our confidence. We loved working with her and look forward to working with her. We are getting ready to start our GSD on Bite Work. We definitely recommend!!

Elevated canine is the best of the best. Oscar is hands down the best trainer I've worked with. His ability to transfer information is top tier. I got my first sport dog and he's been a key component to the raising of this dog. I couldn't have found a better trainer to work with to help me build my dog. I am beyond grateful!

When we started looking for a training program for Ruby last year, she was very dependent, anxious around other dogs, and struggled with listening to commands. Through a friend, we heard about Pack Pawsitive and were impressed with what was being taught here. When we were first introduced to the trainer Harmony, she was very kind and attentive and we knew she would make a difference in Ruby's learning experience. We loved reading through Ruby's report card at the end of each day and seeing what new things she learned! One of the best parts of Pack Pawsitive's programs is the digital resource library where we can refer to handouts and videos that throughly explained how we can continue to train Ruby at home. The in-person training sessions were also especially helpful, and Harmony was very insightful towards our questions and concerns. Seeing Ruby's growth week to week has been extremely rewarding and couldn't have been done without Harmony and the trainers at Pack Pawsitive. Ruby has become much more confident and focused, and has improved so much with socializing with other dogs. She learned new cues like recall, place, leave it, leash manners, and door manners which has made a great difference in our daily routines. From the very first phone conversation with Justine, she told us about a dog's personality (the who) vs. a dog's behavior (the why). Was our dog just naturally an aggressive dog or was our dog showing aggression due to past trauma. After the initial phone call then came the in person assessment in our home, Justine knew our dog's personality was sweet and loving to us; however, due to her being a rescue, her past experiences led to trauma that led to aggressive behaviors towards others in certain situations. Moreover, during that first assessment, she educated us things we had no idea about or thought about with dogs as pets plus what we need to be and do as owners.
