Five stars?! Every bit of it. If you know my pup, he is the typical strong-willed Akita. He is 8 months old, but looks like a full-grown dog. My hubby and I have been trying to work with our baby, Mochi for a few months walking around our neighborhood. He actually dragged us. We would come home with exhausted arms/hands from getting a grip on him. Oh, and we dread taking him out on walks. This training was a real eye opener as to how I need to work with my dog and I have seen immediate changes just in the first couple of days.

This time last year we adopted a young rescue dog who proved to be very very active. She was extremely reactive to other animals and uncontrollable. We enrolled in obedience classes at Pet Smart where she learned to sit, shake, lie down and "leave it" on command but was still hyper reactive often pulling me off my feet when tempted. The instructor recommended an CBD drugs and an electric shock collar to control her. The veterinarian recommended calming medications, increasing dosages frequently and even prescribed "Puppy Prozac"! We were told to drug her and then put her in a crate on trips. After several months of stressing, drugging and fussing we were still unable to calm her hyper anxiety, we even considered rehoming her. Things changed when a new vet said stop the meds and the hassles and find a "dog behaviorist" for training. We enrolled with Allen of Dog World Order through the local adult school. After our first session together, we were hopeful. We did our homework with her between classes as instructed because teaching the human is just as (if not more) important as teaching the dog. In class students would discuss issues they were having, and Allen would work with us to correct problems. He gave me some specific suggestions to control our insanely hyperactive dog on road trips. He demonstrated controlling her reactive behavior seeing other dogs. It works! All his suggestions were just what we needed. She continues to improve everyday as we follow our training. I am delighted to share that our dog is now off all tranquillizers and mood control medications. She travels calmly without being crated and drugged. She now goes for walks without pulling, sits when we stop and has become a completely loveable and attentive companion dog. We love our dog and we love what we have learned in these behavior class. I just finished up a 10 week adult school course on "Canine Foundations: Level II" with Alan and my dog and I are forever grateful for Alan's wisdom and amazing lessons he was able to pass on to me and my fellow peers. We first worked with Alan in a beginning group class. We have a 3 year-old German Shepherd who was super reactive towards other dogs. Let me just start off by saying Alan is absolutely amazing. We have utilized his dog sitting services countless times. We have 3 pups: Reese- 11 year old Yorkie, Shilo- 7 year old Chihuahua and Coco- 9 month old Pit bull. Reese definitely needs more attention and loves to be petted. Shilo, on the other hand, is absolutely the opposite. She will hide under the sofa and refuses to come out when anyone other than myself, my boyfriend and his son are home (and now Alan ). Now Coco is a very high energy and loving pit bull. She loves to play with others and can sometimes be a bit of a pest. During the time we are away and unable to take her to the dog park, Alan is able to provide her the opportunity to socialize with new dogs. Again, she loves playing so at times she becomes too much for other dogs who have, in their own ways, communicated with her to stop. Sometimes it works the first time and sometimes it takes more than once. Mind you, Alan is always monitoring their socialization time and has noticed that she is taking the correction and NOT becoming aggressive (which is a stigma for the breed). Alan has and continues to provide us with more information and education on how to communicate with our dogs without having to be verbal. We have learned so much attending his K9 Foundations classes through Charter Oak. We are extremely comfortable leaving our fur babies in the hands of Alan and his support team. I highly recommend Alan from Dog World Order. He has visited our home three times to work with our dog, Misty. After the first session we saw significant improvements in Misty. Alan not only teaches you how to train your dog to obey commands, he also teaches you how to communicate with your dog and about the psychology behind your dog's behavior. Misty used to pull on her leash and would routinely escape from her collar and harness. Since working with Alan we have eliminated the pulling/escaping and taught her how to walk at our side and stop when we stop without ever having to say a word. Walking Misty is so much fun now because it is enjoyable for the both of us. My husband, Chris and I were so fortunate to have found Alan and Dog World Order. We had adopted Ellis, a beautiful Blue Pit Bull, from the local shelter. He was about two years old at the time. He was such a sweet pup, but very timid, with high anxiety issues, and extremely dog aggressive. This was a problem for us for a couple of reasons. We wanted to be able to give a home to another shelter dog. But more importantly, we wanted Ellis to overcome his anxiety around other dogs so he could experience the joy of play and companionship with another dog. But his aggression was so extreme that Chris and I felt hopeless. We found Randy, a 7-year-old Pit Bull and Mastiff mix. He was everything Ellis wasn't: gregarious, confident and goofy. We told Alan about our desire to bring Randy home, but we didn't have much hope. Well, we feel like Alan did nothing short of working a miracle.
