This is our FAVORITE place to go with our puppy! They have fun events, always remember her name, and have excellent deals! Our absolute FAVORITE person is Bianca! She is super knowledgeable, kind, patient and attentive. She recommended the perfect thinking game and treat for our pup and she LOVES THEM! Normally, I do not speak to other reviews, but I have to say some of them are a bit unfair and reaching in describing the store and some of its employees. I believe we came in that store everyday for the first two weeks when we first rescued our puppy and EVERYDAY they were so helpful and sweet...especially Bianca!!! They have lifetime family patrons! There's so many negative reviews on here about customer service, but today I have to tell you I had quite the opposite experience. My husband and I came in to pick up some cat scratcher replacements for our cat tree. We also picked up some new crinkle balls for our cat as well. While we were inside the sweet lady, Judy Mann, who handles the kitty adoptions was there and we got to talking about the current cats she had available. During that time we shared with her that we lost our cat Nana this past Monday. Literally was choking back tears the whole conversation because it's still so fresh for us. She told us she has a ton of cats she posts online and for us to reach out when we're ready. Well we go to checkout and the girl (who I learned after leaving was Bianca) who comes up to the register immediately has a paper heart on the counter and before I can even tell her I have an order to pick up she says "what's the name of the kitty you lost so we can hang this at the front of the store to remember her?". Again, I'm trying not to ball my eyes out. I had so many questions. How did she know. How could she be so kind. But my heart is hurting and all I could muster up was a thank you. Bianca what you did meant the world to me. I lost Nana just before her "gotcha" date on Christmas Eve and this wound is all too fresh. Eww. Creepy behavior of Bianca, customer service. Have no idea what's up with her, she looked like she was trying to get into a fight. Just a customer here, found it creepy and tried to avoid her. She could see that and opened her drawer quickly so I wouldn't go to the other employee I was waiting for and disregarded when I said,"No, that's alright." THEN (?!) she made a snotty comment, which was what I could see she was trying to do and why I was trying to avoid her. "Oh, it looks like you really want to go to the other line..." umm, yup. And you're creepy. She THEN stood, too close to the interaction of me just having things rung up - by someone else: staring and smiling, looking like she was threatening me?! Once again: eww. I turned my back - trying again to not engage - again. Would love to be able to go in and not be hounded by a creepy "customer service" person feeling entitled to make snotty comments to the customers and feel bullied (?). I see all the other negative reviews. We have a lot of choices... Manager, Derrick, is also questionable. Called in to say something cause it felt so creepy. Hopefully, the owner, "Justin," values business. This is an easy one to solve... and you just lost mine, with what appears to be many. (In scrolling reviews, I see other people have actually used the word creepy to describe Bianca/customer service there. I've never used this word to describe anyone in a review ever. Yikes.) Maggie Rocks! She was great helping me with my rescue who had separation anxiety issues and borderline leash aggression. She's knowledgeable about small dogs as well as big dogs and group dynamics. She is also super observant about what I was doing well or needing to improve, and super flexible in working with us and our unique needs. On top of that she was knowledgeable and helpful when it came to store products that would benefit my dog and I. I live full time in my Airstream and had unique training issues since I don't have a stick and brick house and Maggie has made my cross country trip with Dudley amazing! This review is for the self wash only. I found out that unleashed offers self wash for only $10. They provide a basket containing shampoo, conditioner, brush, towels and comb. There are only three tubs and two drying tables with blow dryers. It is a first come first served with now appointment. That is why I only give it four stars. When I arrived I was told there were no tubs available and would be about ten minutes. During my wait other patrons arrived. Due to the lack of a sign in sheet it was unclear to the staff who was next. Other than that issue I will definitely be returning. read more

#84 (2017) I own a pair of bulldogs and since they are very delicate dogs I would rather treat them like the baby humans they are; which means GREAT! They need to be fed daily (TWICE), Showered with toys (HUNDREDS), given lots of belly rubs (THOUSANDS!!) and loved unconditionally. YES that means even when they chew your leather shoes so that they are unfindable for months and unrecognizable. I became fond of Unleashed because it started to be an inconvenience that PetCo was few far and between. I usually had to drive all out of the way to pick up dog food where Unleashed is able to fill in the gaps. Apparently they have been around for 10 years. I just wish I found out about this place sooner. The service here is pretty good. I was in and had a hand full of questions and the staff was very helpful. I buy the Nature Balance Original Ultra Whole Body Chicken, Chicken Meal, Duck Meal Dog Food. I purchase the 30 lb. bag and the retail price is $57.99. They accept your Pals Rewards here just like PetCo. read more

With all of the online options out there (not gonna bother listing competitors - pet owners know who the big players are) it's very tempting to order pet supplies online. Aside from some of the bigger ticket items that are available online, my wife and I make efforts to regularly shop here because the staff is super awesome (Stephen - Chase - Sarah - all of them, really!) and there's definitely a hometown vibe. All of them know us and our dogs very well and their service really shines. Both my wife and I come from heavy customer service backgrounds and the extra tidbits aren't necessary whatsoever. But the staff here goes out of their way to ensure we're taken care of and we sincerely appreciate them. We're proud to give them our business every opportunity we can. Lastly, we just finished puppy training level 1 with Sarah and she was (is) such a delight to have in our corner! She's incredibly passionate about what she does and it shows. We will DEFINITELY enroll in Puppy level 2 with Sarah! Highly recommended. I don't know when (or if) higher Unleashed personnel review their Yelp accounts but I really hope they get a chance to recognize the Claremont branch for all they do. Had a very unpleasant experience at this establishment. I bought a bully stick for my dog, and when I brought it home, she was not interested in it at all. When it dropped on our hardwood floor she got startled and wanted nothing to do with it anymore. I went to return the product, and hopefully buy something else. When I was telling the cashier about why I was returning the product, another worker chimed in "was your dog abused?" And I said..."no my dog was never abused, I've had her since she was 3 months old". And she said "hmm was she a rescue? Because that sounds like abused dog behavior" and was extremely rude. My dog is the most spoiled dog ever and has never once been abused, I felt that was so uncalled for, and extremely rude. I will never come back to this store again. I knew there had to be a gimmick when a store is called "by" something. Unleashed "By Petco". Very suspicious. So I go into the store to get some paper pellet litter and Natural Balance cat food. Well they don't have the pellet litter and the Natural Balance is about $5 more than what normal pet stores charge for the same thing, which is already expensive. This is what the "Unleashed by Petco" concept is: Find a rich neighborhood, and overcharge them. That's the key thing here. And that's exactly what is going on. This is Claremont, so they are charging the rich residents a ridiculous price knowing they can get away with it pretty easily. read more

I go in and they say they filled there puppy level one class. So me and my wife wait till her next schedule for work comes out to go back. This time they tell us that the class we originally wanted wasn't filled and double checks with a manager in the back and we sign up. I was pleasantly surprised how cute this store is! I would describe it as a boutique type for pets. Additionally, the employee that assisted me was very friendly & helpful. I especially appreciate that he offered to carry out a bag of dog food that a customer just purchased, those bags are heavy. I spent most of my time there admiring the variety of kpkthat you don't find in other stores. I purchased a treat pouch for training, a bag of treats and a nice sized bouncy ball for my pup. In the clearance area, there were lots of cute stuffed squeaky toys. They provide training classes & low cost vaccination days..per their flyers. Outside of the store was the ASPC at a table looking for donors. I enrolled as a monthly donor. There was no pressure. read more

This review is for Maggie who has trained me and my dogs out of the Claremont Unleashed. There are plenty of choices out there when it comes to training your dog. I picked Maggie. I first met her taking my youngest to puppy playtime at the San Dimas Petco. Her quick assessment of the puppie's behavior toward each other and how she monitored the sessions really impressed me. I started to go to the Claremont Unleashed where there were more dogs my pup's size to play with and Maggie did not disappoint. Under her guidance I saw the group of pups I was with become more confident and social each successive week. Observing the way she conducted puppy play time led me to take classes with her. I liked how she communicated the concepts necessary to successfully train your dog. Since that time, I have taken both my dogs to her classes moving with her to Claremont. I appreciate the information given, her positive way of communicating the lesson and her demonstration of commands when needed. Both my dogs, one a 65lb shepard mix and the other a 11 1/2lb chihuahua mix have very different personalities along with their different size. Following Maggie's instruction has improved my ability to have them respond to commands more consistently. We are a work in progress. Both dogs look forward to coming to the store because the experience is so positive. I have learned a lot and have experienced success carrying out her teaching. Thank-you Maggie. I could have given it no stars!! Since this is the closest store that sells the food my puppy eats, we come here. We signed up for the training classes. I am very disappointed on the training classes, so we quit after three classes, at the fourth class. The first trainer Brianna, was excellent. She understood our puppy Lena, and could control her because Lena is very excited and strong (German Shepherd) so she is very hard to control. Although, at our fourth class, another trainer came and said Brianna isn't working here anymore. I don't like the new trainer. Her name is Rachel.. Why I don't like her is because we signed up for a group class, and since our puppy is very excited, so Lena is all over the place. The trainer told us to go outside and see if Lena wanted to go potty. We went outside and I became a little suspicious if she is not happy with my hyper puppy distracting the other two puppies that was also training. After we went in, the trainer said if we wanted to switch to one-on-one lessons instead, and said that "she is hard to focus with other dogs around her." Brianna, the first trainer can control her and make her focus. This trainer cannot. I said that I will think about it. After that, instead of us sitting back down, she said for us to leave the training area and snake our way through the isles of the entire store, stopping at the middle of each isle and say sit and then down. So I did, however, after two isles of the puppy going everywhere, I can certainly tell that she kicked us out of the class because clearly she doesn't want us to participate in the class, disturbing the other dogs. In the end, I returned all of the classes and they returned all of our money back. A good trainer is someone who doesn't kick out a puppy that she cannot control, but to teach the puppy how to be more obedient. BOTTOM LINE: Even it is super close to my house, I will not come here anymore. read more

The best pet store in the area. Even though it is a bit far from my house, I still choose to drive here to get supplies for our puppy. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful and they have a wide selection of quality toys, food, and other products for pets. Michael has been training our german shepherd and I'm very happy with the progress so far! He has been very helpful with any questions that I have. They also have free puppy playtime for optimal socialization opportunities. Great place! read more

My Mini doxie, Noodle and I come here almost every day just for a little social time. This location just recently opened and its beautiful inside. Always super clean and organized. Its like a smaller Petco, just for Dogs and Cats. They have everything here. I LOVE their selection of dog clothes, and they have ALL sizes! Check out the clearance bin as well. Every time we step in that door, we are greeted by the nicest employees ever! Its a different person every time we go, but they are always very helpful and they make you feel like they are glad to see you and happy to help you. Even when I don't bring my puppy :) On our first visit, We showed up 10 mins before closing, and they still helped us find just the right chew bone! Comparing brands, qualities, and prices with us. You can tell these people really know what they're talking about, and they love their job!! We go in sometimes just to get some advice from the dog trainer. Everyone is always so willing to help us find whats right for our puppy. My only complaint is that everything in their treat bar had wheat flour or some other type of flour that dogs cant digest, just like all other pet stores. And that's not even a big deal, I just expected them to be healthier. That's only the treat bar tough, you can find many healthier alternatives around the store :) read more
