Normally I try to avoid this location, but occasionally convenience brings me back. Most employees are pleasant enough, however my experiences with an employee named Shawna have consistently been disappointing. I've been in the store both with and without Shawna working, and the difference in customer experience is night and day. I've also witnessed similar interactions between her and other customers that created unnecessary tension and discomfort. I have many years of retail experience myself, and I would be embarrassed if an employee spoke to customers this way. Rather than greeting customers or offering assistance, Shawna immediately begins giving directives -- telling customers where to place items, how to hold them, and how she wants transactions handled. The interaction feels less like customer service and more like being reprimanded. What I find most frustrating is that if a customer mirrors the same tone back, she quickly points out their attitude or "tone," while seeming completely unaware of how condescending and dismissive her own communication comes across. I understand everyone has difficult days, but this has been a repeated pattern over multiple visits, not a one-time interaction. It's genuinely surprising to me that management has not addressed behavior that so noticeably impacts the customer experience. I'm realistic enough to know this review alone may not change anything, but perhaps if more customers share similar experiences, improvements may eventually happen. read more

As much as I want to like this place I just can't. It's very convenient for me my job is right down the street so after I get off I need to pick up somethings for my horse it just make sense but I've tried various amounts of times and I can't seem to get over how rude the staff is and they will not go up to you if your in the store looking a round to ask you if you need anything. Customer service was very poor. We asked for two 50lbs bags of layer feed. They were extremely rude. Apparently they only have 25 lbs and never stated that. We only got half of what we needed but glad for the mistake at the counter because they are significantly overpriced. Near double what we paid at another feed store. They have a good variety of healthy options in dog food and treats, ointments and also great advice from their staff. Iv'e been to this establishment multiple times and i can confirm that not only do they have horrible customer service but are run by racists. My boyfriend is hispanic presenting and has tan/brown skin. I recently went to the grain with my boyfriend to get something for our cat. My boyfriend shared to me how he felt very uncomfortable in the establishment because the worker (young tall white male ) seemed visibly uncomfortable around him and refused to make eye contact with him. The cashier also looked at him very suspiciously the entire time and wouldn't take her eyes off him, insinuating that he was going to steal. When he was purchasing the items she has such an attitude to her (women with glasses). Also last year i had called when i rescued a cat i couldn't keep because i know they take in cats. The woman on the phone had a horrible attitude and told me they wouldn't take in my cat because it wasn't a kitten. The cat i had rescued wasn't even a year old yet. This interaction really pissed me off because a cat is a cat regardless of age and wouldn't they want to take it in a save a life?? so please don't give this place your money and time. read more

This is a great spot that has a bunch of different eclectic style items for livestock and domestic pets. The last year I just started getting into feeding the birds in our neighborhood which is really therapeutic so we go and get our supplies from the San Dimas grain and feed. The staff are always really helpful and kind and super patient. It's always fun to stop off and look at the bunnies the birds and the cats and dogs that they have for adoption. The place itself has a really great aesthetic and energy about it. Located in downtown San Dimas in the antique district. It's a great place to visit. There are a lot of fun shops in and around for breakfast lunch tea, coffee, and sweets. If you're in the area, I definitely say go check it out in all the shops around in that area. When I asked a simple question, she acted irritated, gave short, unhelpful answers, and made me feel like I was inconveniencing her just by being there. .... It gets worse. I was in a pinch and decided to stop in quick to get feed against my better judgement. In the 5 min we were there the same lady accused my kids (who were well behaved) of knocking over a broom and then proceeded to say " don't you think you should pick it up" to them. I politely said- they didn't knock it over. (I was watching them... they didn't do it) to which she said "they told me they did". So now she's lying to me so I say- "if you have a concern about my kids behavior, please address it with me directly before you chastise them when you don't even see it happen". Rather than apologizing for a misunderstanding or even just letting it go she proceeds to say- "I would think kids would know better." WTF. I had an honest conversation with them later just to be sure I didn't miss something- because I agree- if you make a mess you pick up after yourself. Especially at a store or another home. My husband and I just went in this morning looking for a stress relief or calming agent for our girl cat since the vet stresses her out. The woman at the first counter by the entrance said that the lady (paige) at the counter in the back of the store would help us. She then goes over to that lady to tell her something before we get back there. When we approach the back counter to let her know what we were in search of she immediately says no. yes . she says no. i'm so confused at first because i didn't realize i had to ask permission? ... She then says over and over about how the vet is not going to want a sedated animal (in a vet rude manner). I told her i didn't want my cat sedated, i wanted something light to ensure she isn't stressed out since last time she pooped herself, attacked the vet and i, and was panting. The vet even suggested last visit that I buy something over the counter to help her for the next visit, which is what I was trying to do at this grain store...She then says I shouldn't give my pet anything either way since I don't know how it will effect her and i should play around with dosage before giving it to her so soon (the vet appt is tomorrow).. I ask about products and she never offers me any , instead she repeats herself as to why i shouldn't. so then i ask if a prescription is needed (thinking maybe this is why she isn't showing me any products) but she said no prescription is needed but i just don't know how it's going to affect my pet so i shouldn't do it. So at this point im frustrated and just said ok thanks and start walking away. she then says "well let me show u what we have". she turns around and looks at the shelf and says "what! i guess they are all expired " which was really weird but honestly so was this whole interaction. It's as if they did not want to sell anything to us at all. I say "they" because I am pretty sure the first lady at the first counter told paige to deter us. I really do not understand the unprofessionalism. I felt that the whole conversation was uncalled for . I can't help but wonder if it's racially motivated (I am a hispanic, 5ft 30 year old female)... I'm not sure how to understand why we were treated this way. I feel very disappointed and disrespected. read more

Nice feed store! I work in the area and needed hay for my buns. Wowza! I got a Timothy bag and it is beautiful, so fresh and it's GIANT!!! The price was great too. I was pleased and very impressed. Definitely going back to shop! Lots of goodies if you are a pet owner/lover. This is the place. The staff helped me on the floor with a question and the gal at the register was chatty and super nice. I have been going to San Dimas grain for 2 years now for my pups canned food... Normally I just ignore the LACK of friendly atmosphere and just get what I need and go. Unfortunately, today I couldn't handle the rude employees which led me to write this review. To start, the employees always seem to ignore customers and avoid them at all costs, honestly. The older lady with bangs at the front desk was on a personal phone call for 3 minutes before she could even bother to ring up my items or notice my presence. So here I was standing there just staring at her when she finally decides to get off her cellphone, and I notice my dog jumps up to try to get closer to her treats lol... I absolutely love this place. This place has the feed for my chickens at an affordable price. They also have various types to choose from. My chickens just started laying and it's been with the feeds that I purchased here. I also purchased some of my younger chicks here and they are all alive and growing. I have bought the huge bag of pine shaving for their bedding which smells so good. My girls prefer the Timothy hay which also smells amazing. This trip my husband purchased some dog food for our big dog. So they also have plenty of food for all your pets here. read more

San Dimas green is located in downtown San Dimas on the south side of the street. It's best to park in the rear. They have all kinds of products for all different animals. Weekends there is usually a shot clinic for cats and dogs. They have been able to help us out on a number of occasions this particular occasion we rescued a baby bunny backyard, and they gave us some great advice on how to care for it. read more

I have been a customer at the store a few times. The employees are very nice, the store is very clean. We adopted a kitten from here. The kitten is very cute, his name is Teddy. However, Teddy was sick and they did not know and , of course , we did not know. We had to spend much money at a cat hospital to heal him. I think someone brought in a feral litter. Every time I'm reminded of this store, I get heated. About two years ago, I had found two kittens and was in search of a home for them. Someone recommended this place and I was assured by a woman named "Deanna Castle" that they fix the kittens before being adopted out. This was in fact NOT the case, after calling back, I was told by a woman w/ an accent that the cats are adopted as is and I could not obtain the cats back. They will adopt to anyone, thus perpetuating irresponsible pet ownership and unwanted litters. Do not support this shop, I tell everyone who recommends them to steer clear. It saddens me to think what became of these kittens, I wish I would have kept them safe with me. read more

This is one of the few last standing feed stores near diamond bar. They don't have everything but they do have bulk feed. Needs more livestock supplies. Not sure if they sell hay. Checked out this pet store since it was conveniently located next to a bomb breakfast spot that I frequent. My parents have been wanting a kitten and to my surprise, they had several behind the glass enclosure. Be aware because the kittens were irresistibly cute ( almost purchased one knowing it was probably not a good idea ) but by the looks of it, many of them struggled to open their eyes due to discharge and appeared very lethargic. After close observation, they definitely have fleas AND ticks. I had saw one or two massive ticks on one of the black kittens. If you're thinking about purchasing a live pet animal here, please don't. Please adopt from a local shelter instead. read more

I like this place. It's a little pricey but not so much that I wouldn't come back here. The people who work there seem friendly & knowledgeable. I got bales of hay and feed for different animals; chickens, turkeys, ducks, goats, sheep, pigs, bunnies, & parrots. I do wish they would take better care of the kittens they have for sale. They look like they have respiratory infections. It would be great if they paired with a rescue to adopt out the kittens & pups. read more
