This store is a little hidden gem in the corner of the San Gabriel valley. I needed invitations to an upcoming summer event, and something a little bit snazier and with a personal touch than what you buy at the greeting card stores, but not as ridiculously expensive. (My parents were getting remarried for their anniversary). Thanks to the Yelp reviews I drove to this small store, and was surprised by the quality and atmosphere of Periwinkle. * This place was the best of all worlds for me *: - A truly new shopping discovery, as I do not buy a lot of paper products - Hints of quality vintage material, which I am appreciating as I get older - That sense that I am getting a great deal on stuff that would normally be a LOT more expensive elsewhere. (let me translate that into shopping-speak: Prices are SALE PRICES elsewhere!!!!) - Great personal service by the staff, who were eager to help me make style and color decisions without pushing or up-selling anything my way - Bringing back that childhood joy of watching my own product come together before my eyes, done by my own hands. Like crafts shop, but at an adult, professional level - And did I mention the staff was helpful? I felt more like I was at a friend's house working on a project than at some store with a body minding the counter waiting for the clock to hit quitting time. Periwinkle is a cute shop in a string of cute shops on Glendora Avenue. They have a FANTASTIC selection of wrapping paper. Definitely perfect for special packages to just give it a nice touch. They'll even wrap it for you, I believe for a small fee. They have a selection of decorative items, and I have found some great & unique gifts here. A friend who loves Paris once recorded a letter opener and magnifying glass with the Eiffel Tower. The prices can be a little higher, but it's a small local business. This one of my favorite places. I love to gift wrap and I love rare gift ideas, they have both. I have received many compliments on the paper and ribbon that I have gotten from there. I love that it's 2 blocks from home in the village, very convenient. I love their extended holiday hours. I love the sweet, kind and helpful worker there, she is an angel. I do not know her name but I will say she's blond and beautiful. So many things to love about this place except for one. The owner. I have been shopping here for years now and I have never walked out feeling like my patronage mattered any. I am sure to some her demeanor can be perceived as timid or introverted, but having a store and failing to at least greet customers is rude. Failing to greet repeat customers is even ruder. Now when I walk in I greet and walk straight to the back for my paper, ribbon and card and don't even bother to hold my breath for a greeting. I have noticed that if she is friends with a person, she does come alive and manages to speak more than 2 words. I will go as far as to mention a solicitor that came in trying to sell her something, he was relentless and she stumbled to find the words to make him understand she wasn't interested. I finally stepped in. I assertively told him he was making her customer uncomfortable, leave his card in case she every reconsidered but to leave. He did and in a curt way she mumbled "thank you" to me. I was certain that would be a turning point for us, sadly I was wrong. This happen a couple of years ago and she is no kinder at all. I will just accept the victory that is the beautiful blond angel there. She is so warm and friendly. I simply adore her. If you want to impress with your gift wrap, find unique gifts, find different children items the come to Periwinkle. Just do not expect anything much from the owner. I normally do not like to write negative reviews, but I was there today and caught the bad vibe again from her and I feel the need to inform others since it is rather needless. read more

Seriously.... this place could not get any better! For one, the staff is SUPER friendly. I have never been in there where someone, if not all of them, has greeted me and asked me how I am doing. The store is filled with so much good stuff, including everything for gift giving and gift wrapping! The one thing I see them for all the time is the gift wrapping they will do for you. If you purchase an item in the store, the house wrap is complementary. If you bring in your own, they will wrap it at a great price! They walked us through the entire process in detail; everything, paper types, printing tips, mailing tips, assembly tips, etc. They helped us so much in getting our invitations made that I doubt many places offers customer service like Periwinkle. this adorable little store is full of trinkets, stationery, wrapping paper and gifts. you've got to hunt for it though, b/c it's REALLY set back from the street. if you pull into the lot that's next door to the village vault restaurant, you'll see it on the right hand side as you pull in, behind the restaurant. they've just expanded and have all kinds of new papers and things to decorate it with. not so much scrapbooking, but invites, notes and stationery type things. and they do a beautiful job wrapping anything you want! read more

I just picked up my custom wedding invitations from Periwinkle today and they are perfect! Lisa is wonderful to work with and has the patience of an angel! It took us 4 hours to design and choose what I wanted. I don't think any other place would spend that long with a customer! It took them 1-2 weeks to print/glue/address everything and when I picked it all up today, everything was tied up perfectly in boxes and ribbons- it was like a wonderful present to open up! Periwinkle is definitely a hidden gem in Glendora! They are so wonderful at what they do from custom invitations, stationary, party ideas, gift wrap, and gifts. Lisa is the most patient and knowledgable person when it comes to invitations and stationary. I ordered my wedding invites, bridal shower invites, rehearsal dinner invites, and business stationary from Periwinkle and loved every minute of the process. I recommend them to every person that needs stationary of ANY kind! The do samples right on the spot if you make an appointment and they will work with you until it is just right. Another positive to Periwinkle is that they are able to a lot of sampling via email and send over detailed messages for busy people like myself. They do have some really cute things and their invitations are lovely but you have to not care how rude they are. The last three times I have gone into this downtown Glendora store they have not greeted me. Oh...and I have been the only customer or one of 2 or 3 customers (hardly a rush). I've purchased from this store twice, both times the employees were very friendly and helpful. My second visit, however, the employee was having trouble with her square card reader as it would not read my card until the third time she swiped it and square tried to charge me 3 times. I came in to sort everything out and when we thought everything was fine square still continued to charge me. Today though the same employee (who's name I don't remember, sorry!) refunded the rest of my money for the double charge. I felt like I was being a difficult customer, but she was very kind and patient and apologized for all the trouble. I will be back because I love all the little candles and soaps they sell. It's a little pricey, but there are so many adorable little treasures it's the perfect place to go find a lovely gift for anyone. Just try and pay with cash, so square doesn't double or triple charge your card like mine! Edit: the employee was Lisa, the shop owner I believe. She is absolutely lovely! read more
