Buddy over the moon at HOPE Dog Training day care.

I wanted to give it some time to provide my experience since it takes time to see how much information can be retained with dog training. Daniel was Buddy's instructor and incredibly helpful in teaching the little dude. Daniel would send training videos daily (weekdays) so that they could be referenced when Buddy came back home, and I could make sure to train him and help him retain the information when he was back home. I ensured Buddy got some commands daily so he remembered (and still does). The training doesn't stop once the dog steps out of the door, folks. You have to make sure that information is retained. Prior to dog training, Buddy had issues with commands, yanking at the leash, and some aggression and anxiety. After the two-week training and then a few more weeks to settle back into his space alongside training at home, his behavior was so much better. He listens. He's energetic and still crazy, but he can be more attentive to being calm when asked. Needless to say, getting Buddy training here has made a night and day difference. Not only that, but Buddy has also been much more of a social butterfly and friendlier with most other dogs. I take him to daycare with Hope Dog Training every once in a while, knowing he'll be well taken care of and have lots of fun. All the trainers and staff seem very invested in ensuring that all dogs are well taken care of, which made me feel confident about leaving Buddy here occasionally while getting some socialization. Also you get a report card for day care which I find pretty funny and informative. He still gets slight anxiety when meeting new people and sometimes other dogs (as a rescue, parts of that instinct might stay forever). Still, credit is where credit is due, as they saved Buddy from himself and helped him find more purpose and calmness through the two-week training. I hope this review will help someone out there decide whether or not to move forward with leaving your dog to train here or for daycare.

    Hope

If you're looking for a place to love your dogs as you love and care for them H.O.P.E is the place to go. If it's for training or boarding you won't be disappointed. We have taken our Corso for training, boarding and training classes on Saturday. We absolutely love Hope and so does Zeus (Mr. Wiggle Booty) :) As soon as we pull in the parking lot he wiggles his tail and can't wait to get out and get greeted by the H.O.P.E family. The staff is so welcoming and answers any questions you have. It's truly comforting knowing that your dog is in good care when at H.O.P.E We're looking forward to the next training phase for Zeus when he turns one. We couldn't have found a better place to take our boy. Thank you to all the staff and Darcey for making us feel as family and loving Zeus as you all do.

My 11 month old Doberman, Roux, recently completed the 3 week overnight training course. Prior to coming to HOPE, we had rescued Roux, and he had developed a ton of bad habits and behaviors that were challenging for us to break. We also have a 3 year old Doberman, Loki, who we've had since 7 weeks of age and is seemingly perfect. We couldn't understand what roux needed to be successful like his brother Loki. After much trial and error, we booked Roux at HOPE, where he spent 3 weeks with his trainer, Alvin. During the whole process, Alvin sent us daily updates, which included a video of Roux's progress along with a detailed description of how the day went. Alvin always explained our pups strengths and weaknesses, and allowed us to ask questions and stay completely involved in the process. Our family felt overwhelmed without having our pup at home with us, and Alvin did a fantastic job at easing our worries and making sure that Roux had everything he needed during his stay. The daily communication and updates allowed us to learn along the way and watch the amazing progress that our dog was making. When week 3 arrived, we came to pick up Roux in complete shock and excitement for how well trained and obedient he has become. It wasn't just the list of commands that he had learned that made it so great, but also the deeper respect and bond between owner and canine that Roux has been able to form with us. We are still learning how to communicate with our pup the way Alvin did, but so far, Roux has been able to successfully maintain everything he has learned at HOPE here at his home. When we dropped Roux off for his first day, we felt a sense of doubt in our dog--that he would be too stubborn to excel in the course (he is a wild, stubborn child lol). However, we have been so pleased by the amount of growth he has made in such a short period of time. Alvin, his trainer, did an excellent job teaching him all the tools to be a more successful working dog. We are excited to continue this journey of growth and return to hope for more advanced training sometime in the future. Roux has changed immensely, both in obedience and behavior. We believe that this will make Roux more fulfilled in his daily life and give him more purpose. We are beyond happy with the service at HOPE and the outstanding and skillful work by his trainer, Alvin. We would 100% recommend HOPE training to any and all families who are in similar positions as us, or who just need to learn a few extra commands. HOPE has it all! - Allison, Sebastian, & Roux

TLDR: Hope was a great investment in our puppy and AJ is an amazing trainer. Highly recommend. When we brought home an 8wk German Shepherd I had every intention of training her to be a polite well mannered doggo. Fast forward to 3 months later and though she had the basics down 75% of the time I realized I had overestimated the time and patience it took to train a puppy. I googled and yelped all the dog training in the area, reading every review to see who would treat our baby the best, and ultimately my fiancé and I decided on HOPE. We called and Brooke (I think that was her name?) answered our multitude of questions and invited us to come see the facility. That day we signed Kira up for training to drop off the next day. It was hard leaving our puppy in someone else's hands for 3 whole weeks, but we were reassured with all the happy smiling faces and enthusiasm when we dropped her off. AJ was assigned as her trainer and he couldn't have been nicer. He went over what he would be teaching her and asked about any behaviors we wanted him to focus on. Every day we got pictures or videos of him working with Kira (even if the iPhone to Android connection left the videos blurry). On our pick- up day AJ went over everything she learned, demonstrated it to us, had us do the training and corrections and spent 2 hours answering questions and making sure we knew how to continue the training. Now that she's home we definitely see a noticeable change in her demeanor. She is calmer and listens a lot better (especially when about to chase our cats). Her heeling on walks is fantastic, where before she wouldn't lunge, but constantly pull to be ahead. Now she walks calmly beside me. However since she's so smart she realizes she only needs to listen when the collar and leash are on, it's hit and miss when it's off, so we will probably be looking into off- leash training.

We have taken our two Mastiffs here since they were puppies, Oro and Fabi. They both did a week training while we were on vacation a few years ago. They worked wonders with both dogs during this short time. But you must do your part and follow their plan. After that we took both of them to weekly socialization and they loved it. Eventually it was only Oro due to Fabi having some leg problems and they no longer offered the socialization. Oro still thinks of this place as his second home. When we vacation now, we board them and just picked them up last week. Both dogs love going there and they are treated as part of the family. We get daily pictures and updates. It makes our vacation that much more enjoyable knowing they are in such good hands. Darcey, Emily, Daniel, and the rest love their jobs and they love your dog. You can't find a better group of people.

I am very pleased with H.O.P.E. Dog Training. My boyfriend and I rescued a pitbull puppy in December and wanted to set him up for success. After a bit of research we decided to do puppy/basic obedience training and had such a positive experience we decided to do the day socialization class as well. He gets REALLY excited to see other dogs and I'm so grateful that he is being taught the right way to channel that. The staff is friendly, communicative, and not only has my dog benefited, we feel like more confident handlers as well. Thank you!

Darcey and her staff are amazing people!!!! They take care of your pup like it's their own. The staff is high energy and pleasant to work with. Darcy is amazing when it comes to training! I know you're having issues training your dog, you wouldn't be looking at this Yelp if everything was going fine! Thats ok! Darcey trains you as much as the dog. The training mantra is in the name, HOPE! There is always hope when you believe in Darcey and your ability to learn from her and the staff. Darcey is easy to get in contact with and gives you great options to work around training issues on the spot through text. I have a service dog that works for the Fire Department which Darcey helps train, we have great success with this 1.5 y.o. Labradoodle. I have boarded my service dog there many times, they do a great job taking him outside for exercise and training throughout the day, and will send pictures of your pup. H.O.P.E has a wide range of training from basic to advanced and everything in-between.

We love Hope Dog Training! Our boy, Fang, has been coming to see all his friends for the last 2-1/2 years. They did his initial puppy training when he was 6 months old. We brought him back last year to do some additional training with him and it was amazing. As a 153lb Great Dane/Mastiff, it was important to us to be able to have control of our boy, him being able to listen as well as him feeling safe and sociable. HOPE was amazing in giving us the tools and training. We board there regularly as well. Most recently we were under an evacuation warning due to the fires. Without hesitation, Darcy was happy to board Fang for a few days for us until we could figure out the situation. I highly recommend HOPE, Darcy, Brooklin and all the trainers and staff. I trust them with my boy and he loves them so much.

Only giving them a 5 star because you can't give 100!! Darcy worked with my dog dobby (male, 2). It was so incredibly helpful and I saw a huge difference ! It was an unreal experience. She was so patient and willing to work with him through his fear aggression! Iam forever grateful to Darby and the HOPE TEAM! Their name is very fitting... they bring exactly what they say... HOPE TO YOU,Your dog, and your household !! The pictures and videos they sent weren't only educational but also so comforting when I left my baby overnight for three weeks !! They truly treat them as their own and have blessed me and dobby so much with confidence and love !!!!

We took our little mini Aussie doodle puppy to Hope dog training for the 3 week overnight and we are so happy we did!! Alvin was his trainer and he was very knowledgeable and treated our little Murphy so well! They really had a great bond and Murphy came back way more well behaved and we are able to continue his commands and training at home! They sent us pictures and videos of Murphy every single day which made us feel so much better because we saw how much fun he was having! Hailey at the front desk was also so sweet and truly loved and cared about Murphy! Thank you everyone at Hope!!

Ok, this place is pretty amazing!! My husband and MIL had been dropping off Thor and Maverick for the past 5 days to get trained as they were a tad out of control in terms of just doing the basic commands and heeling while walking them. They were enrolled with their 5 day training program, so like doggy day camp but to get them to learn and obey us for about 8 hours a day! After 5 days, SUCH A HUGE IMPROVEMENT! I was shocked as my husband was showing us how they're listen and do the basic commands so much easier! You guys are seriously like magic genies because it's such a day/night difference with their listening and heeling!! Thank you so much!!

This is my dog, Emmah, with her trainer, Samantha, from HOPE Dog Training.
    Debbie R.

We initially took our young German Shorthaired Pointer, Emmah, to HOPE Dog Training for on-leash training. They did an excellent job, for which we received compliments wherever we took her on her good behavior. But, off-leash, her natural tendency to follow her nose at a run was unsafe and annoying. Therefore, Emmah returned to HOPE for e-collar training with Samantha. Emmah's recall is amazing. Plus, she heels and stays in place without a leash! I can't give enough praise to what Samantha and HOPE did for Emmah and us. Emmah is a joy to us and a good citizen. P.S. Emmah was well cared for and loved by ALL the staff at HOPE. She especially loves Samantha!

    Awesome place!!

Hope had my dog as we had a celebration of life in another state, we have used other places this one is the best they went above and beyond the other places, my dog went through a traumatic experience and when I picked her up I was impressed as she has been home couple hours and she is back to her old self!!! Thank you. Oh and the daily was so awesome thank you again!!!

Our original invoice specifically states "Please schedule a 7 day recheck -- $0.00," "Suture Removal in 12-14 days -- $0.00," and "READY TO GO -- All Services in Visit List -- $0.00." Based on that invoice, we reasonably understood the 7-day recheck to be part of her postoperative care. When we returned for that scheduled recheck, we waited about an hour and the doctor looked at her incision for approximately a minute. We were then charged an additional $55. When we questioned the charge and pointed out what our original invoice said, we were told that although the recheck appears as $0 on the original invoice, they charge for the doctor visit when you actually return. That explanation made very little sense to us. The invoice has separate "Price" and "Total" columns, and the 7-day recheck is listed as $0.00 in both. If the recheck actually carried an additional $55 exam fee that simply wasn't being charged on the day of Pippa's procedure, we would have expected that fee to be reflected in the price or, at minimum, clearly disclosed to us. Instead, the requested postoperative recheck was presented on our invoice as a $0 service, and we were only told about the additional fee after we returned for it. We asked that our concern be sent to management and requested a refund. When we returned again for Pippa's suture removal, we brought it up and were told management still had not responded. It has now been approximately two weeks since our initial complaint and we still have not received a response. The $55 itself isn't the main reason for this review. What bothers us is the way the postoperative care was handled. After spending nearly $900 treating our cat, we expected the practice to be concerned with making sure her surgical wound was healing properly without turning a very brief scheduled postoperative check into another unexpected charge. The lack of response from management after we specifically raised the issue has made the experience even more disappointing. It left us feeling that collecting an additional fee for a quick follow-up was more important than providing transparent, patient-centered postoperative care. Pippa's medical treatment itself so far appears successful, and we're grateful that her wound is healing. But the billing practices and lack of communication afterward have caused us to lose confidence in this practice, and we will be taking our pets elsewhere in the future.

Health Issues This was the second time I boarded my dog at this facility, and unfortunately, both visits ended with her coming home sick. After her most recent stay, she developed kennel cough. After her first stay, she came home with kennel cough and an eye infection. While I understand that illnesses can occur in any boarding environment, having it happen both times is extremely concerning. Care Instructions and Facility Handling I was also disappointed that Duchess's care instructions were not updated during check-in. She is no longer a puppy and no longer chews, yet her paperwork still reflected outdated information. Because of that, she wasn't given the blanket or bed that should have been placed on top of her cot. This should have been caught and corrected by the staff during the check-in process. (I was also told I was unable to leave her blanket and toy from home, which should have been communicated at the time of reservation.) While watching the facility cameras, I also saw another dog placed in Duchess's room for a period of time, although I was never given an explanation as to why. Later, I learned that Duchess had been moved out of her room around midnight because the room needed to be painted. I was never notified that she had been relocated, and I found that very concerning. Communication and Monitoring Concerns To make matters worse, I was unable to access the cameras during the night. Around 3:30 a.m., I became worried because I couldn't see Duchess and had no idea she had been moved. I called the facility, but no one answered. As a pet owner, that was incredibly stressful and upsetting. Customer Service and Response When I called after bringing Duchess home to discuss everything that had happened, I was shocked by the manager's response. Rather than showing concern or empathy, I was told, "Well, you signed a waiver." While I understand that boarding facilities require waivers, a waiver should never be used to dismiss a customer's legitimate concerns or excuse poor communication and preventable issues. That response left me feeling that Duchess's well-being--and my concerns as her owner--were not taken seriously. Overall Experience Any one of these issues might have been understandable on its own, but taken together, they reflect a lack of communication, attention to detail, and accountability. I understand that boarding facilities care for many dogs and that no facility can completely eliminate the risk of contagious illnesses. However, I do expect accurate records, clear communication, transparency when changes are made involving my dog's care, and compassionate customer service when concerns are raised. After two disappointing experiences and two hefty vet bills, I can no longer trust this facility with Duchess and will not be boarding her here again. I hope this review encourages the facility to make meaningful improvements so that other families--and their beloved pets--don't have a similar experience. Our pets can't tell us what happened while they were away, so trust and communication are everything!!

We boarded our two dogs for the week of June 28 with the expectation that they would be well cared…read morefor while we were away. Unfortunately, our experience was deeply disappointing and upsetting. The facility advertises that "if concrete pens are not for you, then this isn't the place for you." In reality, what we experienced went far beyond that disclaimer. When we picked up our dogs or rather, when family had to retrieve them because we no longer felt comfortable leaving them there one of our dogs appeared noticeably dehydrated and in poor condition. It was heartbreaking to see. We became concerned that our dogs were being confined to cages for the majority of the day. When we asked the owners to provide any proof or documentation showing that our dogs were not kept in cages all day, they refused to provide anything. The attached text message exchange reflects that interaction. Our concerns became serious enough that we made arrangements for family members to pick up our dogs early rather than leave them at the facility for the remainder of our reservation. No pet owner should feel compelled to cut a vacation short or scramble to find someone to rescue their pets because they have lost confidence in the care being provided. To make matters worse, I had to argue with the owners to receive a refund for the unused boarding days after our dogs had already been removed from their care. A refund for services not provided should have been offered without hesitation. I cannot recommend this boarding facility based on our experience. We entrusted them with members of our family and were left feeling misled, frustrated, and deeply concerned about our dogs' well-being. Pet owners deserve transparency, compassion, and confidence that their animals are receiving appropriate care. Unfortunately, that was not our experience. Please don't take your pups here. They deserve better!

The facility is very clean, and it's clear that the staff genuinely care about every dog in their care. The trainers are kind, attentive, and treat each pup like family, which gives us so much peace of mind. Whenever we travel out of state, Dog Den is our first choice for boarding. We love that they provide cameras so we can check in on our fur baby. The staff keeps everything clean, changes the towels regularly, and makes sure she is comfortable and well cared for throughout her stay. On days when she just needs some extra playtime and socialization, daycare is the perfect place for her to have fun with other doggos. We also love the photos update that were given throughout the day. We highly recommend Dog Den to anyone looking for a safe, caring, and trustworthy place for their furry family member! The facility itself is very well equipped, with more than 100 rooms. They also have separate isolation rooms in case a dog gets sick, which helps prevent illnesses from spreading to other dogs. I thought that was a huge plus. All new dogs are required to provide vaccination records, and they also do about a 20-minute temperament assessment before joining. Based on each dog's personality, they arrange suitable playgroups instead of just mixing all the dogs together. The staff are also very professional and attentive. They keep daily records of each dog's eating habits and bathroom activity, which really gives owners extra peace of mind. Overall, it feels like a very responsible and well-organized place for dogs.
