Our dog was 1.5 years old, so still had some puppy in him, but he has anxiety that causes his mindset to be very difficult to train, so we called Bryan. We chose the 5 week program which trains him to basic commands on AND off leash. It was super difficult to hand over our dog for 5 weeks, but as difficult as it was, I can honestly say it was worth it. Simply put, it was life changing for us. Bryan provided weekly updates and videos so we could see how our dog was doing and help us get over missing him. Our dog still has his silly personality, but is now controllable on and off leash. My family and I decided to have a pup in our life. We found our perfect pet at Priceless Pets and adopted him. Love at first site. He is a Chocolate Lab As a puppy he was great. As the year went on, it was increasingly difficult to train him and he was just overpowering the kids. He didn't realize his own size and just wanted to play so much, but in playing, he would knock over the kids and it lead to most of his day needing to be spent in his crate. We wanted happiness for everyone. We scheduled the time for the board and train (Took the 4 week option). We felt this was the best option for our family and our dog. It was an investment in our family and I wanted the best So now it's time to drop off Rufus. It was weird not having him in our home but knew it was for the best. Bryan again gave great detail into all the steps and what would happen during the 4 weeks. Each Friday for the 4 weeks we would get a private YouTube link on everything Rufus learned and his progress. Within the first week, he was a completely different dog. I've never seen him listen so much on the video. Those videos are all self explanatory so I wont get into those details either. Just know that they are very well detailed videos and you wont help but smile on your dogs progress Each week was upped to the next level of the defined training and it was a joy watching all the changes that have been made. As the weeks crept up to us getting Rufus back, we were excited with anticipation. On the day of pickup, we went through our own owner training with Bryan. Got very detailed with what we needed to do and how to continue the training for the rest of his life. It ended up being really fun. Rufus has now been home for a week and he his fully integrated to the home. He has a special place in our living room. The kids are happy they can play with him and pet him. Rufus is all smiles, droll and tail wags. This was indeed life changing for our family. Also Side note, Bryan made himself available for Boarding as well. We have been using the boarding services before and after the board and train. Experience was way better than any dog hotel I've used in the past for extended family trips. Bryan was the most genuine when it came to his business. You can tell he loves what he does. That's how I knew this was the place to go. I highly recommend. This review I LONG overdo, but I wanted to wait a few weeks after to see how things went so I can give a full review. Background - I have two Great Dane puppies who at the time were 7 months old. We were heading overseas for 3 weeks so we thought it would be a good time to board and train them so they could fine tune their skills. When we dropped them off they had sit, stay and down but they were doing it about 65-70% of the time. Why Brian - so I searched high and low before I committed to a trainer, I wanted someone experienced with giant breeds and someone who didn't have a facility with 30 dogs who would be locked in a cage all day. Great Danes are a naturally "afraid" breed so I didn't want to come back to huge puppies who were scared of everything because they were boarded in one of those puppy mill facilities. Brian's place checked all the boxes - he keeps the puppies at home, he has about 6 puppies at a time and they get substantial daily attention. The results - 10/10 recommend. Throughout the training Brian would send us video updates on their progress. When we returned we had respectful puppies who listened to their commands 95% of the time. Although it wasn't included, Brian worked on off leash skills with the pups so I was immediately able to take them off leash on walks. They were so afraid of other pups and people before training and now they confidently walk reaction-less no matter where we go. They listen so much better then I could ever imagine for puppies. They are level 10 clingers but Brian gave them confidence to actually stay when I put them in a down position. Honestly, I had high expectations but Brian FAR exceeded them. Price - this wasn't the biggest factor in my decision, but let's be honest, two giant breed dog board and trains is no inexpensive so the fact that Brian was cheaper then competitors and offers sibling discounts despite being the best trainer we met with. He's a STEAL. He's like one of those amazing cafes you find before they go viral - he's a hidden gem. I travel overseas frequently and I know I will continue to board and train with Brian so he can continue to give them new skills every time I leave. We didn't actually using either. Just by popping regular leashes, my dog learned that I do not want him to pull. And I learned that the key is to deliver unambiguous messages to the dog, consistently - If he pulled, just give a pop, to let him know 'I don't like it' - If he came back at tension, give him treats or affection, always - Dogs are not great at verbal commands, the pressure (pops) works better Several other side notes - Those (to me horrifying) collars are meant for communication, not punishment. Do not use them wrong or the human-dog trust will be destroyed - Dog parks do not work well for dog socialization, as not all other dogs are friendly or well-controlled. It might not be a good experience for the dog - If you decide to use the word 'No', it should come before 'something' happens (pressure, pop) - To help the dog have a good dog-socialization skills, Owners need to let the dog know and trust that s/he knows what s/he's doing. e.g. - If you are over-aroused/showing teeth/hopping...etc, we'll leave. - If the other dog is a bad-ass, I (the owner) will take care of it even if you are nice and calm - and you should be I felt Bryan did a as good a job educating me as training my dog. I am ever so grateful for Bryan's assistance in training my two young corgis, Jackson and Oliver. Prior to finding Bryan's service, I had tried various group training and private training sessions. While they were helpful, they didn't address all the concerns that I was having with my dogs. We had 3 private sessions with Bryan and the results were amazing! By the end of session one, our dogs' behaviors were noticeably improved. Bryan listened to my concerns and addressed each one individually. For my older dog, Jackson, his biggest issue was barking incessantly anytime I turned on an appliance -vacuum, hair dryer, blender, etc... you name it, he barked at it until we turned it off. By the end of Bryan's first private session, this issue was resolved! Jackson now sits quietly in "place" whenever we use any of our appliances. For our younger dog, Oliver, there were several problem areas including pulling his leash whenever we tried walking him, barking at neighbors/people on the street, and acting aggressively towards other dogs we encountered on our walks. Bryan was able to address each of these issues with some very simple training techniques. I liked the private sessions because I was able to learn alongside my dogs and knew exactly what to do in situations I encountered during my daily activities. Family and friends who come over can't believe the changes in my two dogs. They have gone from being wild and crazy to being calm and obedient. I had a wonderful experience with Brian, he was very sweet to my chihuahua. I reached out and he came same day to help. He is very knowledgeable and explained everything throughly. Not only was I verbally walked through all the steps, but he also demonstrated everything for me and critiqued my corrections. I learned a lot in our brief time together. Brian was also very prepared bringing a lot of his own supplies (I.e. leashes, treats, collars) which worked a lot better than the harness and leash I use on a regular basis; His recommendations were awesome.
