The best money I've spent since moving to Irvine! Ever since I got my dog, I've been nervous about traveling. Then last week, while I was walking my dog and chatting with my American neighbor, she told me about a pet boarding place in Orange that locals really love. Beautiful second location! The address is 1189 N Fountain Way in Anaheim and it's near the Kaiser Permanente on La Palma. I was BUMMED when they shared the plans that they may reopen Location 1 (next to in and out and temporarily closed) for grooming services only. Selfishly, their first location is closer to me and we were looking for a day care that was convenient for us to do drop offs. When I toured the facility and met the owner, I was immediately reassured that this was the best spot for our pup. We go out of way to get her to day care and it's 20-25 minutes one way depending on the Anaheim traffic and it's worth it. They keep the facilities spotless, and Daniel seems very protective of the other dogs. His dogs of course get to come to work, and also the other employees' dogs as well. It turned out that my dog's vaccine was not up to date and i am glad that they verified that it was completed before I was able to take in my pup for the temperament test. Good on them for being ethical and honest! The best part of this is how transparent they are - you're able to see your dog if you have services booked, and they send you a photo every day! It's amazing how personalized that touch is- it goes a long way and is proof that they care. I've scanned through all the other dog daycare reviews and none of them provide this service. Take your pups here! You won't regret it, and also they currently have a new client special that's pretty unbeatable : $100 for a month unlimited day care. I've started bringing my (now) 11 month old, 80 pound, puppy to Dog Den for socialization. She is extremely friendly, but still jumps on people. At her weight, it's a good size impact. So I can't take her to the dog park where she might flatten kids and older folks. I have high standards for vets and other animal services. I have been 100% pleased by the care and staff at Dog Den. They really know their stuff and clearly care about and enjoy the animals. Now that she's gone a few times, they are starting to learn her quirks -- which means they are keeping a close and engaged watch on playtime. And Muffin always comes out happy and relaxed. It's such a relief to know we have a place to take her for the day as well as if we need to board her at some point. I really couldn't be happier with them. BTW - Google maps sometimes tries to take you to an "entrance" off Miller. It's a dead end. You can only get to them from Fountain. I'm going to report it to Google Maps. They are not the closest day care to my house, but they are well worth the additional drive. read more

Let me just say, I am not a fan of boarding. I'm new to the area, and I was used to having a family/friends network of peeps to help take care of each others furballs. Being new to the area, my first stop was petsmart, but my dog was never happy, I hated taking him there. He was always unhappy, and would come home and act as if I abandoned him in a prison. He's been to DogDen twice. Once for the meet and greet, and the 2nd time for a week long stay. When I say my pup Milo was happy, I mean he was happy! There is not one better place I can think of that makes my pup happy (besides home). He LOVES DogDen. I also love DogDen. I love the updates, I love the access to the cameras so I can see him playing, I love the photo updates. I honestly, did not feel rushed to have to pick him up because I wasn't stressing out about him being locked up all day. He didn't come back smelling like a dirty rag, and he got a LOT of playtime. Dog Den has been the only consistent Dog Boarding/Daycare place I feel confident in leaving my dog. Daniel and his team have always been professional, positive and accommodating with boarding. There has never been any push back when I needed to extend my time for pick-up for my dog. I should preface by saying my dog has the worst anxiety and I always worry about how other dogs or handlers will treat her for being so fearful at first. Anytime I have dropped and picked up my dog there's always been someone friendly who handles taking her in and bringing her out. Although it's smaller than most other boarding/daycare places, Daniel does not let all the dogs out at once. He pairs them up with dogs similar in size and temperament. My dog has especially grown found of pugs (especially since my sister got one). So at daycare, he paired her with a Pug so they can specifically play together. This means a lot to me because some people hold judgement against my little baby hippo and think she's aggressive when it's quite the opposite. She comes back from daycare tired and smiling from playing all day. I've had a lot of trial and error unfortunately with many doggy day cares but I can say that I'm never worried about leaving my dog here. Another bonus is that this boarding/daycare is INSIDE only. I never worry about her being outside in the heat or in the cold. Before trying another boarding location, try Dog Den first! read more
