I've been very happy with Camp Bow Wow so far!! I have left my pup a number of times so far, including about four full day boarding sessions, an over nighter and a two night stay so far. It is easy to book your stays through the app and everything has ran smoothly for my experience so far. They require all records prior to your first stay to make sure the dogs are up to date on vaccinations, etc. There are also a number of enrichments offered at an extra cost to entertain your pup, and on certain days of the week they have specialty enrichments. On my pup's last stay we ordered a pup cup and I did not expect to receive pictures in email of her enjoying it. That made my day. There are always cameras available to check in on your doggy to make you feel at ease. My pup is always excited and always playing during her stays and she is excited to go in when we arrive, she isn't even worried about me heading off and she's still happy when we come back for her. Then there is the additional perk of your pup being wiped out for a nice portion of the day when you return. Mind you we have not rescued many but enough to know they need special care and Camp Bow Wow has done such a beautiful job of loving our babies and helping them to feel safe, which gives us peace of mind. When brought our current dog home about six months ago, we gave her a bit of time and then introduced her to Camp Bow Wow. It has been such a help to help socialize her around dogs and people and now she gets so excited when we bring her in. She has learned to interact with other dogs and with people, play until her heart's content and take breaks when she needs to. She always comes home tiered in the best way. We have been campers at Camp Bow Wow for many years. We started with our first dog in 2016 and she was a very happy camper there. When she died in 2020 it took us a few years to recover from the grief. When we were ready we got a new dog and we brought our new dog Roxy there and it is one of the best decisions we have ever made. Drop off in the morning is like summer camp. The employees are usually waiting for your baby at the gates and welcome them. All dogs are so happy to be there. The staff really cares about the dogs. I see them bend down and kiss them and hug them. They welcome them by name - it's a really good environment. We have tried other places and they are usually smaller and cramped and indoors. CBW has enough space for all the dogs to run around freely. There is a dog that also goes to CBW that really likes our Roxy and Roxy doesn't seem to like this dog this AS MUCH and so when this starts to become a problem the dogs are rotated in and out. It's a great solution. We love this place. Roxy comes home loved, clean and exhausted. Look at this face! Come play with us! You'll love it. read more

Cute lobby, it feels like you are dropping your dog off at summer camp. I love that they have cameras there - you can check up on your dog. They are like ponies in a horse corral :) They have an outdoor area for the dogs too, which is great to have both. Prices are great for this area and it's conveniently located right off the freeway. They don't do one weekend night for boarding, you have to keep them there for a minimum of 2 nights. Not sure about Friday's but this pertained to Saturday and Sunday night. On the app it asks if it's okay for your dog to have a "campfire treat". So freakin adorable. read more

I want to start by saying that we have been bringing our dog to Anaheim Camp Bow Wow for over a year so I'm super disappointed that I am having to write this review. We boarded our dog while we were on vacation. Two days in we received a vm from Kris the owner, about a dog named "Brodie" (not our dog's name). In the vm she just said who she was and then hung up mid-vm saying another call was coming in. We called CBW back that same day and were told that our dog and another dog were playing rough and that our dog got bitten by the other dog. We were reassured that he was perfectly fine, acting normal, and to not worry. We got this information only after we had to call them back to ask if the original call was really for us and if so, what happened. The day we were to pick up our dog (four days later), we received a vm from CBW just before 8:00 a.m. that our dog's eye was irritated, that he had a "rash" on his paw, and they recommended that he go to the vet. When we went to pick up our dog around 9:00 a.m., he was on his way with one of the CBW employees to the vet and we were never told that was happening. When we saw our dog, his eye was nearly sealed shut, oozing fluid and blood-shot, and he could not open it; the "bite" from the other dog was an actual puncture wound (on the same side of his irritated eye); and the rash on the paw looked like he was bitten by a poisonous spider (with loss of hair, redness, and welting). After paying for a week of boarding and a $400 vet bill (with three medications) there's a chance that our dog will lose vision in his eye. The photo of the wound was taken four days after we were told about it and after the vet visit where the site was shaved and cleaned out. We tried to work with the owner, Kris Hannah about what happened. Those efforts were useless. There was a complete lack of ownership and accountability on the part of Kris and CBW. There was no explanation about her "investigation" of what happened beyond her claim that the injuries were not linked (i.e., didn't happen at the same time) and that our dog must have "ran into something". Following that discussion she then asked "so we're good, right?" If you want peace of mind that your fur baby is being cared for when you're away and that in the event something does happen, you are provided with adequate information, this is not the place for you! read more

I'm writing a follow-up review after giving this location another chance. The owner personally reached out to me via phone to apologize for my previous experience and asked for feedback, which I truly appreciated. As a result of her diligence, I decided to schedule a bath for Oakley. Although they didn't have any openings at first, the staff member I spoke with was very pleasant. A few days later, I called again and was able to get an appointment. The overall experience with the front desk was much better this time. My only minor dissatisfaction was the pickup process. I was told Oakley would be ready between 2-3 PM, but when I called to request the de-shed shampoo, I found out he had been ready since 1 PM. While an early pickup isn't an issue, I would have appreciated a call to let me know, as the Camp Bow Wow I usually visit always notifies me when my dog is ready to avoid unnecessary kennel time. Kris, thank you for reaching out and making adjustments based on customer feedback. That's the true purpose of reviews, though I feel it has become a bit one-sided in favor of consumers. My dog became allergic from the floors and cleaning products that his paws caught extremely red and inflamed. I got my puppy, Molly in November and to be honest, didn't do my research. I wasn't really looking for a dog, but she just kind of fell in our lap. I originally had her care covered but that fell through and I was scrambling because I didn't want her alone in my backyard at such a young age since we have a pool. I put her in petsmart since it was conveniently located by my work, but quickly removed her after some questionable behavior from the staff and Molly looking absolutely miserable when picking her up. One day I was driving home from work stuck in traffic and happened to look to my right and saw camp bow wow signage. I immediately called to inquire and the person I spoke to on the phone was so kind and informative. I scheduled an interview and was told it was a minimum of 3 hours and they would see how she did. I loved the option of a free day so both the camp and me would be comfortable I with Molly staying. After that day, Molly has been going pretty much daily. Right when we pull up, her tail starts wagging and I ask if she wants to see her friends. She gives a polite bark and when I open the door, she immediately runs to the gate and knows the routine to start her day. The morning staff are great- Justin is always extremely welcoming and greets Molly with "hey pretty girl" right away. Azelynn is a true gem to work with while picking up. She's always so kind, informative and professional. She remembered who my dog was after day 2 which I was impressed with and she'll say "here for ms Molly" which I really appreciate. Their packages are the way to go- reasonably priced and fair with everything they offer. I've had to ask for Molly to have a slumber party last minute due to work conflicts and they are so accommodating even with short notice. Barney couldn't go to see his favorite human graduate from the USMC! We were in desperate need of a dog sitter. I think it's pretty cool that places like this exist. After some quick research Camp Bow Wow it is! I filled out application online uploading his most recent physical was shot records. Then I called to schedule an appointment for his interview!! 3 hour interview Barney needed to pass. We have to leave him for 3 hours to see how he adjust. You can download app and watch on a camera that they have throughout the facility I thought it was pretty hilarious that I spent way too much time watching Barney on the camera than being productive at home. When we picked him up he was crying to stay so I could only assume he enjoyed himself..lol Thankfully he passed!! I dropped Barney off for 3 nights 4 days he took a blanket and a toy. I took him with food but they also provide food it's up to you! I paid extra for 15 minutes individual time and then they would send a photo showing Barney playing which I thought was pretty cool!! I do wish this place had a little more space and a little more interaction with toys maybe balls at least but nonetheless I had a good experience and will most likely return. Took in my Pomeranian today for an Interview at camp bow wow in Anaheim. I just happen to go online and watch the camera and I watched a lady push my tiny Pom with back problems. He stumbled back and she had no sympathy. I immediately called them and asked if my dog was okay and asked why he was being pushed around. They tried to down play the situation and stated it was gentle and not what it seemed on camera. " you can't hear what's going on, on camera and it's not what it looked like even though it seemed aggressive" Apparently the lady was cleaning up poop so she had a need to push my dog. Absolutely not okay! I immediately went in to pick up my dog and spoke to I believe a manager he was kind and understanding but I did not appreciate him trying to down play the situation. Once I got home I noticed my dog was covered in poop. He had poop on his legs and belly, if the lady was trying to clean poop of the floor why was my dog covered in poop? Not only did they physically harm him but they also let him I guess walk around poop. Makes no sense. Hours later I did receive a call from the owner Kris Hannah. She was extremely kind and apologetic. She saw the camera footage and agreed that it was it out line and not at all what they stand for. I greatly appreciate her professionalism and the time she took to call me and apologize. My dog will not be back at this location nor do I recommend it to anybody, especially if you have a small dog. read more

Very disappointed. My family has been bringing our dogs to Camp Bow Wow for several years in the Tri-Valley/Bay Area. We have never had any issues with that location. I recently moved to Southern California (central Hollywood) and needed to bring my dog Pirate for a week of boarding. Since we are familiar with Camp Bow Wow, I figured the drive out to Anaheim would be worth it to have him staying with a business we trust. The day I was supposed to pick him up, we received a voicemail saying he had been bit by another dog and had a wound on his ear. I understand there is always a risk leaving my dog in a large group with other dogs, but I trust the staff at Camp Bow Wow to be attentive and alert to prevent an event like this from occurring. When I arrived to pick him up, the staff was unapologetic and unsympathetic to my concerns. They said they cleaned it, claimed "it didn't bleed that much" and reassured me that he was fine. Pirate is ok, but I was taken aback by how careless and inattentive the workers were about the issue when my dog was literally bit with an open wound from another dog. Will not be taking him back to the Anaheim location. read more

Really bummed that it didn't work out here. I used to go to the location in Nevada and had an amazing experience. When I moved to California I was very excited to know there was a location nearby. I took my dog here for her orientation & was turned off by the comments the worker made about my dog, but tried to give it a chance. And then I decided to see how the overnight boarding would go, and when I picked up my dog she was covered in poop. I asked the employee about it & he told me unfortunately the baths are all booked up for today, but he can give my dog a complimentary bath next time she comes in. How is that supposed to help? My dog is covered in poop now. I don't know if this happened the day before or the day I picked her up, but either way I should not be picking her up with poop all over her. A similar situation occurred at the location in Nevada. They told me when I picked her up that my dog sat in pee& gave her a bath, but did not expect payment for this. And just informing me that they did bathe her. This is how it should've worked at this location. Very disappointed. read more

I will start by saying the staff has been extremely polite and communicative during this whole process, but there are a lot of issues with their daycare rules. I got a phone call from them informing me that my dog was separated from the others for having fleas. I told them that my dog is on prescribed flea medication and I have paperwork to prove it, but they said "it's the rules". The daycare offered a complementary flea bath, where I was called again by staff and told that my dog was covered in flea bites "all over his back, butt and legs". I freaked out and immediately picked him up and took him to the vet. The vet looked him over and said he could not find any flea bites at all and that because my dog is on prescribed flea medication, if there are any fleas it likely came from the daycare itself. I talked to the daycare about this but they said it's policy to quarantine any dog that they see a flea on him/her, which seems absurd considering how easily fleas can jump from dog to dog. I send my dog to daycare because he's extremely social and loves to have a full day playing with other dogs, not so that staff can suddenly put him alone in a box all day when they find "flea bites" all over him. read more

What can we say? We LOVE Camp Bow Wow in Anaheim and recommend this location any time someone asks about doggy day care or boarding services. The staff here are amazing and genuinely care about the pets. We love that they even embrace the holidays with silly costumes, giving out treats and seem to have fun with bubbles and water for the dogs. We especially like that there are cameras to watch your pet and how they post lots of photos on social media. They started recognizing our dog and welcome us with a friendly hello. Our dog can then be seen prancing to the back to go play with his daycare friends. He loves it here! Our dog is a husky shepherd mix and we have taken him here for daycare and boarding. The staff do their absolute best to keep him clean and having fun. Our dog had a bad habit of rolling in poop when he was there. Many times they would give him a quick wash before we picked him up. I had moved away and haven't been to Camp Bow Wow in almost 2 years. Last week I had to get to the airport and was running SO SO late that I ended up putting my dogs in an Uber and sending them over to camp. I couldn't have felt more relief then when Juan called me informing me that he safely had my dogs in his care. Prior to their arrival he spent time on the phone with me getting to know all about the dogs and getting clear about their needs (and wants as he made it clear their comfort really mattered) . Over the 7-8 years That I have been bringing my two American bulldogs to Camp Bow Wow I have made more than one yelp review regarding the quality of staff that works here. I'm happy to say that throughout this time the quality has somehow increased. Its lovely to see that the business owners see the benefits of investing in their employees. Be I watch the cameras every chance I get and even shamelessly screen record at times when I think something cute is abreast but life isn't allowing me to be glued to my screen. Throughout these many hours I've never once witnessed an employee being mean or seeming irritated. (And kudos to whom ever was working Thursday in yard 2 and sat lovingly giving pets and trying to calm this silly dog staring and barking at them non stop for quite a while) I just wanted to let everyone know that my dogs are getting old and particular in their ways so I was nervous but Juan put me at ease and his kindness and patience was so appreciated. My Rottweiler Gracie Marie, age 8, died on July 16th, 2023 at Camp Bow Wow, Anaheim, CA while my family was attending a family reunion in Yosemite. No medical attention was rendered for Bloat to my dog. No staff noticed anything. I was not allowed to see the last video of my dog if I did not sign a non-disclosure. I did not get to see her again after I dropped her off in Camp Bow Wow's care. They did not charge me for the boarding, storage of my dead dogs body, or necrology report. We did discover in the report that she had cancer that we did not know about. We wanted to be there with her to give her a pain free passing surrounded by love. To date, I do not have my Gracie's remains, nobody at Camp Bow's staff will talk with me about her last minutes, as I was told by the owner "They feel uncomfortable." I was promised a statement from the girl that last saw Gracie alive Sunday morning, after 12 hours alone, unattended. Still waiting for her statement. No sympathy card sent to us. I'm not sure why I've never left a review before, but the last few weeks have been especially wonderful so I'm here to rave about Camp Bow Wow. We've been leaving Deeko here exclusively for a few months now, and he comes home so tired from playing all day, it's wonderful. I don't feel guilty about not being able to take him on a walk every day because I know he's getting tons of exercise and socializing with his friends. Whenever I drop him off he is excited to run in and he's always so happy to see everyone. It's also really endearing to hear the staff say "Deeko!!" as he comes in. I feel like they genuinely care about my guy and that means so much to me. Recently, he got hurt. It happens, dogs play, and sometimes they're rough, so he had to get sutures and a drain, but we still had to leave him because my husband and I both work and can't really take much time off to be with a hurt pup (as much as I would have loved to). Bow Wow and their amazing staff did everything they could to make sure Deeko was comfortable even though he was hurt and couldn't play with anyone. They still took him on walks and made sure he was active and not just alone and sad all day. Even when he was on the mend and I was worried it was too soon to let him run around with his friends again, they accommodated my dog mom worries and were SO patient and understanding. I drop him off there often and know that he is in the best care. Deeko stayed at Bow Wow when we went on our last vacation in July and they sent us a pupdate and PICTURES without me even having to ask. I was SO grateful. I'm so happy we found Camp Bow Wow. Think twice before you do daycare or boarding. Read all the reviews and get your own opinion, but be aware before it's too late. Too many irresponsible young kids are trying to take care of your animals that are not responsible. Immature is constantly leaving and communicating with each other rather than watching your dog. Our dog Zoe isn't just the family pet-- she's a member of our family. We wouldn't trust just anyone to look after her when we can't take her on family trips. On our last family outing to San Diego she couldn't go so she was taken care of by the warm and loving crew at the Anaheim Camp Bow Wow. We were able to watch her play with the other dogs all day long on the cameras they have at the boarding house. The kennels are extremely clean and the team is highly professional. My dog Rocky stayed at this facility to board for 4 days from Saturday morning to Wendesday. This was the first and last time that I will be bringing my pet here. Let me take the time to explain why I feel so poorly about this place. I normally don't leave negative reviews for places because I know that sometimes these reviews and comments can negatively impact a business. Especially, when you're just hearing my side of the story and most times businesses can't properly defend their stand point via yelp. 1. When we picked up my dog, he was very quite and showed signs of lethargy. I figured he was just tired from playing. Soon after, my dog started to vomit and also had severe diarrhea. I called the boarding facility and asked them if my dog had showed any of these symptoms while boarding. The person replied, "we had 3 other clients call us with the same concern. Your dog was not eating his breakfast but he would eat his dinner. You should take your dog to the vet if he is not well". I find this to be very concerning because I would think that if you're leaving and trusting someone to care for your pet that they would communicate to you if your pet is not doing well. The only reason we found out this information was becuase we asked. Secondly, I don't believe that this place was truthful with the information they provided me with. I find it very hard to believe that the dog all of a sudden started having vomiting and diarrhea after I picked him up. Your guess is just as good as mine when it comes to: Sanitation, service, and over all care. 2. My dog came back home with swollen feet and a present yiest infection between the toes. This means that they do not look over the pets before taking them out to play and that they do not keep the floors dry for the pets. I'm assuming that after rinsing the floors they continue to let the pets play over the wet surfaces. Sure this can be pleasant if it's a hot day but, wet paws for long periods of time = bacteria growth 3. We requested that our pet have a bath before coming home but the dog still had an oder when we brought him home. Take in mind, that we picked up Rocky at 10am, so there is no way the dog got dirty right before coming home. In conclusion, I think that the owner or manager should strategize a game plan to keep the staff regularly keeping pets health in mind and the importance of client communication. I would be more than happy than to speak to the Manager/Owner about my concern. I chose not call again because of the answer we got from one of the representatives. It led me to believe that they don't care nor that they take ownership for a problem that happened during their watch.  I feel that it's the manager or owners duty to speak to a clients when there is a concern so that he or she can make an adjustment if there is a problem with the way the business is ran. read more

This is a great place for daycamp for your fur babies .. They have a large space for them to play with lots of toys and a small little play pool too. They keep it clean as I can see and the staff is very nice . However, they do not open till 7am so it doenst work for hospital workers like me whose shifts start at 0700.. also, something to remember is that they do not have someone there at night for overnight stays. I took my dog there once and didn't even think about asking for that info but once I found out nobody was there incase of an emergency or if there were a fire or something I just couldn't take my dog there anymore. It's been a few years and maybe the policy has cha fed since then. Something to think about too though. Other than that it was a fun place for my dog.
