They said no problem in just cutting nails and it is: $10 just come between 9-10am we went there the next morning and they were done without issue. My dog wasn't scared or anything. They even tried to show me what to look for if I decide to do it myself. Thousandth review! Figured it'd be best to use this landmark in giving a shoutout to one of my favorite businesses. Before we had the pleasure of finding Dachs 2 Danes, we had an assortment of daycares that we tried that were okay. While they were not horrible, it still felt like something was lacking in each of the establishments. Finding D2D and staying a customer for the past 5 years (!) has frankly felt like a very short time with how easy and simple they have made our lives when it comes to placing our pup in trusting hands. Noted in a previous review, our pup is "special". Super-smart dog, but didn't have much socialization (or, possibly, happiness) in her past. D2D has helped provide a safe and controlled environment for her to socialize (or, at the very least, interact) with other pups and humans that aren't us. Pre-COVID, we were able to drop her off sometime after 7am and pick her up before 7pm on any day (I think if you dropped off your pup after 12pm, it was considered a half-day and was a lower rate). During COVID, they're now closed on Saturdays and Sundays, but you can drop off your pup during the weekdays; their website has more info. Also, during COVID, boarding is still available! While daycare has provided infinite value to us, boarding has been nothing short of a relief. I do worry about our pup when she's not at home (frankly, I'm just used to her being around me all the time), but it is incredibly reassuring to know that she's at D2D overnight whenever needed. We do schedule her boarding a few days in advance (if not a few weeks if we're going out-of-state), and we make sure to pack food, meds, dental bones, a blanket, a toy, and a list of items/directions for them (just as a backup, since they do write down a checklist for their own use when they receive her overnight bag). Just a note: if you want to try and board your pup doing holiday weeks (e.g., Thanksgiving and Christmas), make sure to try and reserve ahead of time, as they may get full. Prices have been reasonable for half-day, full-day, and boarding. They also have packages, where we've been consistently purchasing the 30-full-day packages in the past few years. It definitely is an upfront cost (around $650 for the 30-full-day package for one dog), but it's nice to not worry about paying on day of a daycare visit because we took care of it ahead of time. They also have a small discount if you have multiple dogs, I think? D2D also has some salon services! Hubby and I have completely taken advantage of their ability to cut dogs' nails, as I get a little bit of a visceral reaction in trying to cut our pup's nails (I had cut into the quick before, agh!!!). $10 for a nail clip? DONE. TAKE MY MONEY. The owner, Erin, is a wonderful human being who cares about her business, the pets she takes care of (whether cats, dogs, birds, farm animals, etc.), and her customers. She has always been straightforward and honest with us, and always works hard in her business. She does small things that is a big deal to us, such as Christmas postcards, doggie report cards, setting up boxes for donations to the animal shelters and rescues, and providing a quick recap on how our pup did our daycare. Horrible experience!! Found this place on yelp. Figured can trust my puppies here for a simple nail trim. Boy, was I wrong! They ended up cutting my pupps quick and didn't tell me. They cut a big chunk. His nail was super short from the rest. I found out halfway driving home. My dog was jumping at me in the car. I pulled over and found my whole back seat fully covered in puddles of blood. Wished I took a photo to share, but at the moment, the blood through me off not knowing where it was coming from. While driving back immediately to the facility and they said, oh yeah, they were suppose to glue that. I'm like, huh?! Were you even planning on telling me? Im aware this doesn't harm the puppy or dog, but it's the principle, professionalism and carefulness handling another person's pet when they leave it with you. You are held reliable taking care of the customers pet as if it was your own, being loving and caring. Not being rough and careless. We did daycare here for our puppies. They took great care of them while we were away and our pet sitter needed to drop them off for one day. They worked with us because our 10 month old male puppy wasn't fixed yet because Vets are recommending we wait for one year. So this was the first full day for my babies NOLA and George at Dachs2Danes. Nola was also groomed. They were super excited when we picked them up. What is cool, is they have cameras recording the dogs. So when we walked in the door right away we could see our babies at play. When we brought them home, first thing they did was drink water and then NOLA just layed down (tuckered). Nola's grooming? She smells amazing and feels so soft. She has a bit of an attitude now. Haha. The peeps there? Super nice and super caring I am so happy we stopped by and checked them out. So our my babies. We found this place by drive by, live 5 min away. We were looking for someplace for them to stay for a weekend. This was their first trial there and we are totally pleased. We will be boarding them here when we go away for our weekend getaway. With the rating they have it's so deceiving & yes even the monitor. We're just here for a 2 nights vacation this holiday & found this 4 & 1/2 star rating. When we picked him up, we were told that my pet was kinda dirty & I asked why cuz when I brought him there, he's clean & just had a bath. Thought he was not that dirty then cuz she will just wipe his paws. I even asked if they have any in LA. A young girl told me that because my pet walked on & pee area but I didn't expect that he'd be so stinky & dirty. Looked like he ran in the dirty mud. Instead of having more time at Disneyland Downtown, Anaheim, we had to drive back home instead to bath him since he's like crying of his bad smell & dirt all over her four legs. I'm really sad that Dachs 2 Danes and Erin, its heroine, is no longer there. She fostered our husky for a good long while before we adopted him and they had a special bond. She would throw in a free grooming session if our dog got dirty or slobbered on extra which was really nice, planned dog parties, and made sweet little keepsakes with our dog's photo. She also had a system that sent out email reminders to update your pet's vaccinations and/or she called our vet on file and requested they confirm the current vaccinations directly. Also the live camera that you could log into to check on your pet was reassuring. These are some nice touches I'd really like Hudson's, the new name/owner of the business to learn from. I arrived with our dog for a day of daycare, I was sort of in a hurry and completely unaware that the business had changed hands. They had my dog in their system but said they wouldn't take him because his DHP was expired. I said that I hadn't gotten that D2D reminder email in August about it (probably bc the business already changed hands). I assured the attendant that the dog's shots were up to date, including his DHP. I told him that bc I was short on time he could call my vet right then and request the updated vaccination record, I'd wait there. He looked at me and slightly shook his head and grinned at me. It was ever so slightly rude, patronizing, and a brush off. He gave me no other options just stared at me and offered to call his boss (so he was willing to make that phone call...??) and I really had no other immediate alternatives for my dog so I drove like a mad woman back home (with the dog back in the car, bc they wouldn't accept him) to grab his shot record. Then I drove like a mad woman back to Hudson's and they took him in without issue. The time it took me to drive back home and back to Hudson's took longer than a 5 minute phone call to my vet's office. I know that Erin wouldn't have treated me like that and would have simply called the vet, it's things like this that made D2D and Erin special. read more

I have had Erin "cat sit" for us now a few times and she's great. We love that she comes to the house, spends time with our furry family, and watches over our home when we travel. She's attentive, asks if the critters need anything special, and brings in the mail. She knows we have an alarm system and a video system, so she knows we can see her coming and going. I loved this facility!! The staff is amazing and so patient. My dog has a traumatic past and was abused by a previous owner. He gets anxious and will be protective of himself at first until he warms up. They approached him sooo carefully and patiently and they told me he did well and he was accepted into this facility after his interview. I'm so happy. Also, they were so receptive and sympathetic of my dog's traumatic background and although he growled at first they gave him a chance and he did so well with the other dogs and staff. D2D's facility was nicely laid out. It is a large room with a wall that completely isolates the new dog from the rest of the dogs which definitely helps if your dog experiences any kind of anxiety since they can't see the rest of the dogs. From there, another staff member lets the dogs out one by one from that area into the enclosed room to meet the new comer until they're all present. The staff was so patient with him and that's what I want for my little boy. They also have cameras where you can watch your dog interact! LOVE D2D. Before, we had used a local doggie hotel once or twice that was okay, but we always got our dog back with more anxiety than when we left her. She wouldn't eat or go to the bathroom normally for days afterward and we never got many updates unless we checked in persistently. Let alone the super expensive doggie hotel rates, it just didn't feel like our dog was being taken care of, which is really what was most important to me. D2D is personal, reliable, affordable and cares about the animals they look after. Your pet is in their normal environment and get the usual love and attention they deserve. D2D will update you as often as you'd like and when I needed them last minute they made it work. I knew my Buffy girl was okay and will continue to use D2D whenever I go out of town. This review is for their grooming services. The prices are affordable and my dogs, Lucy and Ethel smell great and are clean. The girl at the front desk was friendly and they were finished in a timely manner which now makes sense because they didn't do much. I was very disappointed in that I asked for a very short cut on Ethel because her fur grows in so quickly and since the weather is warming up, I wanted her to be comfortable. Unfortunately they didn't trim her at all. She looks clean but there was no difference in length. They said it was because they were so busy and "didn't have time" to cut it as short as I wanted although I had set up their appointment a week ago for that very reason. It seems strange that a business would set up an appointment for a customer and then say oh sorry we didn't have time to give you what you asked for even though we have you scheduled for the full grooming experience. Even though I'm out $100 I'm glad I found out what this place is really about and will take my doggies elsewhere where they can be attended to properly. Update: I let them know Ethel had sensitive skin and to use an oatmeal shampoo or something similar which she assured me they had. I don't believe they used a hypoallergenic shampoo because she has been scratching nonstop since. And because the groomer did not do what I asked and left her coat long, she has been hot since the weather warmed up. Now I'm questioning whether they did everything they were supposed to like the anal gland expression. I'm going to have to make ANOTHER appointment somewhere else to have it cut as short as I wanted in the first place. There goes another 50 bucks. Terrible first impression! I had considered bringing my dogs in for the doggy day care but if they can't give me a plain ole short haircut and using a hypoallergenic shampoo then I don't think I can trust them to watch my dogs. Thank you for your response but the thing I had an issue with was the fact I scheduled an appointment for my dog to have her fur cut short, I didn't ask for anything special just as short as the groomer could get her and what I received was as far as you could get. She was only shaved on her backside and everything else was left untouched because there was "not enough time." This is by far the most accommodating and dog owner friendly kennels I've had to board my dogs at. I board them here regularly, and have never had a problem. Not only have I never had a problem, but I've had to have them administer medicine to my dogs- they were so great about it. Also, I have a big and small dog, and both love it here. Every employee is so friendly and welcoming. Every time I call and ask about boarding my dogs, they always remember exactly who they are. We took our 7 month old Belgian Malinois to Joseph and Mario for the 5 week B&T, mainly to get her doing off leash obedience and recall work. Both my wife and I are AMAZED at the dog we got back after 5 weeks. She does everything that was promised and even some extra. She is not only trained well, but seems to know how to be trained even better. They were extremely professional and helpful with all questions and updates along the way. Their new facility is also very well suited for this type of work (clean, large, open, etc.) and only getting better with renovations. They really care about dogs/the outcome of training them and you can tell that this is more than just a business. Shout out to Mario for treating our girl so well/training with her so much. I am so disappointed. I rarely ever give poor reviews as shown by my review history, but I really need to say something here. Pet owners know, especially with more than one pet, that planning to bring your pups to a groomer can be a stressful and anxious ordeal. I called this particular place one week ago and made an appointment with them to bring both my dogs in for full grooming services today, Saturday, at 8 am. Whomever I spoke to confirmed and I made sure to ask what time I should bring the pups in and she said 8 am. I was excited but nervous and made sure to plan the day out so I could bring the pups in, go to work, and have my fiance pick them up when they were ready. I planned it all out in advance because I work 7-6 every weekday, and weekends are really the only time I can bring the pups in to be groomed, even though I'd really rather spend the day playing with them. So imagine my surprise and disappointment when I walk in to the groomers, 8 am on the dot, and the attendant is completely not expecting me. I guess I should have called to confirm yesterday, but I typically expect the business to do this. She brings out the physical scheduling book and shows me that I'm not listed in the book and that the groomer won't be there until noon. I told her that this was very disappointing and she told me that they had times available on Monday. I told her I work on Mondays and wouldn't be able to bring them in, hence why I scheduled the appointment for Saturday. She said sorry and asked who I spoke with. How would I remember this? So she turned me away, I took the dogs home, and I checked my phone to find out exactly when I called to book the appointment and called them back to let her know the details. She called me about an hour later and asked if I had called mid-week to cancel my appointment because there was a big X through my name in the books, and that I was indeed scheduled today but for noon. I was livid at this point. Why would I show up at 8 am if I had called to cancel?! And why wouldn't you tell me to bring my pups in at noon if that was when my appointment was made? Wtf? I thought she was joking. I will never trust making an appointment with this business again. How can I believe they'd take my appointment and not cross me out at their whim? So disappointing. Needless to say, I have no faith in this place and will take my business elsewhere. I feel bad that I can't speak to the actual services provided because I wasn't ever given the chance. read more

I LOVE everything about this place... the owner, the staff, the dogs! I have been taking Bella (my 1-year-old lab) to D2D since she was a little pup. My husband and I use their daycare and boarding services regularly. When we first took Bella to D2D, we enrolled her in puppy preschool. Puppy preschool is a little bit more expensive but completely worth it. For puppy preschool, they do obedience training, socialization, and potty training... SO GREAT, especially if you have a busy schedule. Prior to bringing her here, Bella has been to two other daycares, and I never felt quite comfortable taking her to the other places, especially when Bella would come home smelly. Here, at D2D, everyone is so personable and reliable. I feel like they not only care about the dogs, but they take the time to get to know the owners. I love how they reinforce obedience training and provide structure (unlike other daycares) for all the dogs. They recently took care of Bella while I was gone for two weeks in Italy. It's such a relief knowing that I can go on vacation (and to work daily) and leave Bella in good hands! Dachs 2 Danes has become Bella's second home. And to be quite honest, I'm sure she loves daycare more than her own home... She loves the staff and all her fur friends at D2D! read more

This place is phenomenal! Clean and with such a great staff! My family and I took a trip down to Anaheim for Christmas in Disneyland and did not want to leave our baby Obee, the bichon frise, behind for the holidays. My dog is a bit aggressive but warms up to people very well. Anyways, as hesitant as I was in leaving him by himself with new people, the staff at D2D reassured me and gave me their utmost professionalism that my dog would be more than taken care of. Erin, one of the canine personnel, went above and beyond to really make sure that one my dog was well taken care of, and two that my family and I would have a great time in Disneyland knowing that our dog was safe. She was flexible with time, accomodating with our busy schedule, and was very welcoming, caring, and compassionate with our Obee. My dog felt very secure and safe with her and I would more than strongly recommend anyone who needs a great canine sitter to go to this facility and if you need a sitter overnight to ask for Erin, where they will have a sound piece of mind that their canine family member is going to be in great hands. My 12 yr old shar-pei rescue and I had been looking for a good and responsible location for about 2 to 3 months when a dog walker referred me to Dach 2 Danes. (Note: I am an extremely overprotective dog owner who is skeptical about who deals with my baby because she was not well socialized when we got her at the age of 7. So, this review comes with great respect and appreciation.) After about a billion questions for Erin (the owner) we started out with dog walking services and eventually graduated to daycare. My dog's usual groomers is a 20 minute drive from my house. They're good, but they take forever. I went on Yelp, and searched for groomers around me and Dachs 2 Danes came up. I called, and made an appointment. My dog's appointment was for 4:30, and by 5:45 I got a call to let me know Nico was ready. They're fast, they do a great job, and they are located less than 5 minutes from my house. I was pretty skeptical bc I never take my dog anywhere but Happy Tails because every one else always cuts Nico, but I am glad I gave Dachs 2 Danes a chance. They also have great service! This place may be ok for large dogs but for my 11 lb Shih Tzu it's was not a good experience. She got hurt during her interview with the other dogs who were 2 large Great Danes and Labs and a mix pit bull dog who was a rescue and very Hyper. They need to separate larger hyper dogs and small dogs. Also the play area way too small for such a mix of large and small dogs. They said sometimes they will have 15 dogs with one care taker with the dogs and they other person cleaning and up and managing the front desk. My Dog was only there less then 1/2 hr when she got hurt and only about 10 dogs today yet the caretaker missed my dog getting hurt so why would I leave her there all day especially if it's more crowded with one caretaker in with so many midsize to large dogs how can she watch them all and especially the little ones, today she did a bad job. My dog was mistreated while under their care. They allow you to observe daycare playtime by webcam and during that time I witnessed staff grab my dog's fur, throw her to the ground, and pin her against the wall!!! It makes me wonder what they did while I wasn't watching! Another dog would not leave my dog alone and my dog would try and hide but the staff did nothing. The play area is a 15 X 10 foot concrete cell with AstroTurf on one side for the dogs to go potty on and they only hose off. The area is too small for 10+ dogs and shade is only given by the concrete walls. I picked my dog up a half hour after they opened and they tried charging me for a full half day (they hadn't fed her or taken care of her yet for the morning but still planned to charge me). Dachs 2 Danes has always gone above and beyond to accommodate our crazy last minute schedule and our little monster. This summer was the first time we needed to board our dog and was not sure what to look for in a boarding facility. The second I emailed Dachs 2 Danes Erin emailed me back immediately to answer all of my questions and made me feel very comfortable about leaving my "child" for the weekend. We did a meet and greet with the team at the facility and loved that we could watch Monster on the doggy cameras just in case! We have been back multiple times and could not be happier that we found Dachs 2 Danes. read more

Under new ownership...my dog was viciously attacked while drinking water yesterday morning at Dachs 2 Danes. She was transported to a hospital for stitches and we were contacted to let us know. The owner also paid the expenses. Please be careful bringing your dog to this facility not the same place... we were told the dog that attacked our dog was new to the daycare. Not sure there was proper supervision. I just know my dog has been traumatized and has close to 20 stitches in 2 locations as well as bruising and abrasions in a separate location. This tells me the attacked went on for too long. We have been coming here for several years but will have to find another place. read more

Our two fur babies were left in D2D care for a week and a day. We have only used Rover before and had an awful experience. We found D2D and the whole process was so easy from the interview, to dropping off, to picking up. I am one of those dog moms who likes to check up as often as I can and everytime I did they were so patient and let me know exactly how the pups were doing. Made things easy since we were a 5 hour flight away. I will definitely be using them again in the future. Very reliable and I have never felt so good about leaving my babies with strangers.
