Chelsea started taking care of our furry children when we became the proud parents of an 11 year-old German Short-Haired Pointer named Jake. Prior to that, we took our Pekingese, Vera, with us on our trips. Jake did not enjoy travel, being home alone, or spending time in a kennel so we gave home-care a shot and couldn't be happier with our choice. One With Care was there was Jake's age got the better of him back in 2014 and when Vera recently suffered from temporary paralysis due to an auto-immune disease. I just can't say enough about how wonderful the One With Care team has been and the immense weight they lift off of us when they take care of our pets in both good times and bad. While I was gone Chelsea came over daily and spent 30min-1 hour playing with my cat, just spending time with him (which was really what he needed), refilled his food, cleaned litter box, etc. She sent me text message pics and updates everyday she visited and wrote daily logs regarding what happened and what she took care of. Before we had the pleasure of finding Dachs 2 Danes, we had an assortment of daycares that we tried that were okay. While they were not horrible, it still felt like something was lacking in each of the establishments. Finding D2D and staying a customer for the past 5 years (!) has frankly felt like a very short time with how easy and simple they have made our lives when it comes to placing our pup in trusting hands. Noted in a previous review, our pup is "special". Super-smart dog, but didn't have much socialization (or, possibly, happiness) in her past. D2D has helped provide a safe and controlled environment for her to socialize (or, at the very least, interact) with other pups and humans that aren't us. Pre-COVID, we were able to drop her off sometime after 7am and pick her up before 7pm on any day (I think if you dropped off your pup after 12pm, it was considered a half-day and was a lower rate). During COVID, they're now closed on Saturdays and Sundays, but you can drop off your pup during the weekdays; their website has more info. Also, during COVID, boarding is still available! While daycare has provided infinite value to us, boarding has been nothing short of a relief. I do worry about our pup when she's not at home (frankly, I'm just used to her being around me all the time), but it is incredibly reassuring to know that she's at D2D overnight whenever needed. We do schedule her boarding a few days in advance (if not a few weeks if we're going out-of-state), and we make sure to pack food, meds, dental bones, a blanket, a toy, and a list of items/directions for them (just as a backup, since they do write down a checklist for their own use when they receive her overnight bag). Just a note: if you want to try and board your pup doing holiday weeks (e.g., Thanksgiving and Christmas), make sure to try and reserve ahead of time, as they may get full. Prices have been reasonable for half-day, full-day, and boarding. They also have packages, where we've been consistently purchasing the 30-full-day packages in the past few years. It definitely is an upfront cost (around $650 for the 30-full-day package for one dog), but it's nice to not worry about paying on day of a daycare visit because we took care of it ahead of time. They also have a small discount if you have multiple dogs, I think? D2D also has some salon services! Hubby and I have completely taken advantage of their ability to cut dogs' nails, as I get a little bit of a visceral reaction in trying to cut our pup's nails (I had cut into the quick before, agh!!!). $10 for a nail clip? DONE. TAKE MY MONEY. The owner, Erin, is a wonderful human being who cares about her business, the pets she takes care of (whether cats, dogs, birds, farm animals, etc.), and her customers. She has always been straightforward and honest with us, and always works hard in her business. She does small things that is a big deal to us, such as Christmas postcards, doggie report cards, setting up boxes for donations to the animal shelters and rescues, and providing a quick recap on how our pup did our daycare. The main reason I chose this place vs all the other dog boarding is because they offer a "home" living experience rather than a facility/warehouse. It has been exactly one month since we lost our beloved French Bulldog, Louie, to heat stroke after leaving him with OC Paw House in Tustin, California. We dropped Louie off at approximately 9:05 a.m. for what was supposed to be a four-hour half-day visit. The purpose was simply to see how well he interacted with the other dogs before we considered boarding him there for a week later in September. I believed I had done my due diligence as a responsible pet owner. The business had more than 100 five-star reviews, and I could not find even a single review below five stars. They also had many photos of french bulldogs on their social media. That gave me a great deal of confidence in leaving Louie in their care. Unfortunately, what happened that morning is something our family will live with forever. At 11:33 a.m., I received a photo and text showing Louie with several other dogs. In the photo, what appeared to be Louie's vomit was clearly visible near his front paws. When I later examined the photo more carefully, I noticed that it had been taken at approximately 10:18 a.m. That timeline is extremely important. Wendy, the owner, later told me that Louie was having difficulty with the heat while at an unshaded dog park on an approximately 81-degree day. She said that after about 5-10 minutes, they decided to take him back to the house. The house is approximately an eight-minute drive from the dog park. Yet I did not receive a phone call telling me that Louie was in serious distress until approximately 11:45 a.m. I was then told that he was not breathing. That leaves me with a question I still cannot get past: What happened between approximately 10:18 a.m., when Louie was apparently already showing signs of distress, and the time I was finally contacted? As Louie's owner, it is devastating to think that he may have been struggling for an extended period of time without receiving the urgent intervention he needed. In my opinion, what happened demonstrates a serious lack of training, judgment, and emergency preparedness. This is especially troubling because Wendy told me that she owns or has owned a French Bulldog and understands that Frenchies do not tolerate heat well. Brachycephalic breeds such as French Bulldogs are widely known to be particularly vulnerable to overheating. Afterward, I obtained a report from OC Animal Care. Based on my reading of that report, I learned information about the business and its licensing status that I did not know when I entrusted Louie to their care. The report also contains statements regarding overnight boarding and the individuals who provide dog-walking services that, in my view, do not match my understanding of how the business was represented or operated. I encourage anyone considering this business--or any dog daycare or boarding provider--to verify its licensing, insurance, training, emergency procedures, supervision practices, and experience caring for your specific breed. Do not rely solely on online reviews. I wish I had known to ask more questions. Louie was not just our dog. He was part of our family, and losing him this way has been heartbreaking. I am writing this review because I cannot change what happened to Louie, but perhaps sharing our experience will cause another dog owner to ask the questions I wish I had asked--and potentially prevent another family from experiencing the loss that ours has endured.

We started getting daily reports, with "basics" box checked. They were thorough, precise, and complete. My Dad worked for Polaroid for 20 years, and these pet sitters were awesome at taking pictures. Every day we'd open up the emails and this noise would come out of our mouths: not ooh! Yecch! But...: Awwww, look at how cute she looks. Her wariness and caution as a cat showed, but her shyness rounded the corner a bit. Sitter4paws let us take a long vacation worry free at what we thought were reasonable prices, for a truly truly worry free vacation. I will never use them again after my TERRIBLE experience. Initially used this service for a short business trip with success so tried again for a longer trip to see family between Christmas and NYE. The company sent a sitter I had never met who incorrectly used the pill injector on my sick, elderly cat and forced her to swallow the over inch-long applicator tip. Resulted in $3,000 emergency vet surgery to remove that I had to manage from out of town. So deeply stressful for me but mainly my poor elderly asthmatic cat!! They handled it but SO unnecessary and only happened bc of their bizarre business model where they pick whichever of their employees are available, not someone who knows your house/pet. So if you get one who knows what they're doing you don't necessarily get them again - it's totally random from the customer's perspective. Instead of enjoying my family I had to spend the time managing the emergency they created from afar, stressed and fuming that I trusted this company to send someone competent to care for my sweet older cat. After the first disastrous pill delivery issue they sent the **same person** again a day later who clearly doesn't know how to give a cat medication and she, again, incorrectly gave my cat her medication!!! My cat gets ill if she misses just one day, the medication is a high-dose steroid for her asthma. The employee did not know how to give her the pill, but still marked the medication as administered on their form (I only figured out it didn't happen when I read the notes) and instead of giving her the pill rubbed it on her gums -?!? I am FURIOUS for my poor cat and at the incompetence of this employee they continue to use, along with the management that assured me they know how to give cats medication and yet still sent this individual out after it was proved that they cannot give a cat medication effectively. The other employees seemed to be ok but I had no choice over who they sent over, meaning every visit was a gamble. If you need anything beyond the most basic service, avoid avoid avoid!!!

Because of this, I haven't been able to take her to a traditional groomer. I happened to see their mobile truck while on a walk and asked about pricing for my reactive shepherd. Ricardo was very understanding, gave me a reasonable quote, and was even able to fit us in right after his first appointment. From the start, he was calm, patient, and gentle. He let me stay nearby to help Juno feel more comfortable, which I really appreciated. She was timid at first, but he took his time earning her trust and worked at her pace. When it came to the dryer, he introduced it carefully and explained that he didn't want to push her too far or undo the trust he had built even if that meant she wouldn't be fully dry. That meant a lot to me. It's clear that Ricardo has experience with dogs like Juno and truly understands the patience and care they need. Both Ricardo and Paco were communicative, kind, and made sure Juno's first mobile grooming experience was as stress-free as possible.
