I imagined her making brownies, popcorn, having a BBQ and not turning off the grill afterwards. Carried away-then I remembered this is Molly, our favorite cat, and prepared to have someone else in our messy house. The manager "Mollie" was very organized. We, were very detailed. I organized food in one cabinet, with post-its for info, post-it where her room litterbox was after already giving info to the manager I think it helped make things simpler. We started getting daily reports, with "basics" box checked. They were thorough, precise, and complete. My Dad worked for Polaroid for 20 years, and these pet sitters were awesome at taking pictures. Every day we'd open up the emails and this noise would come out of our mouths: not ooh! Yecch! But...: Awwww, look at how cute she looks. Her wariness and caution as a cat showed, but her shyness rounded the corner a bit. Sitter4paws let us take a long vacation worry free at what we thought were reasonable prices, for a truly truly worry free vacation. Tl;dr: Do not use this company if you have a pet with medical issues that needs medication. Hit or miss with individual sitters and you have no choice or control over who they send over. I will never use them again after my TERRIBLE experience. Initially used this service for a short business trip with success so tried again for a longer trip to see family between Christmas and NYE. The company sent a sitter I had never met who incorrectly used the pill injector on my sick, elderly cat and forced her to swallow the over inch-long applicator tip. Resulted in $3,000 emergency vet surgery to remove that I had to manage from out of town. So deeply stressful for me but mainly my poor elderly asthmatic cat!! They handled it but SO unnecessary and only happened bc of their bizarre business model where they pick whichever of their employees are available, not someone who knows your house/pet. So if you get one who knows what they're doing you don't necessarily get them again - it's totally random from the customer's perspective. Instead of enjoying my family I had to spend the time managing the emergency they created from afar, stressed and fuming that I trusted this company to send someone competent to care for my sweet older cat. After the first disastrous pill delivery issue they sent the **same person** again a day later who clearly doesn't know how to give a cat medication and she, again, incorrectly gave my cat her medication!!! My cat gets ill if she misses just one day, the medication is a high-dose steroid for her asthma. The employee did not know how to give her the pill, but still marked the medication as administered on their form (I only figured out it didn't happen when I read the notes) and instead of giving her the pill rubbed it on her gums -?!? I am FURIOUS for my poor cat and at the incompetence of this employee they continue to use, along with the management that assured me they know how to give cats medication and yet still sent this individual out after it was proved that they cannot give a cat medication effectively. The other employees seemed to be ok but I had no choice over who they sent over, meaning every visit was a gamble. If you need anything beyond the most basic service, avoid avoid avoid!!! read more

This review update is loooong overdue. We've been customers of Sitters4Paws for over 6 years now and they're just fantastic!! The sitters care for our fur babies so lovingly - we always travel with such peace of mind knowing our boys are looked after so well. They have an app now which makes communication even easier - they send emails/messages and many photos with every visit. The sitters follow any instructions very well - we used to have an elderly cat that needed medications and they took care of it no problems! Making reservations for visits in their app is so easy and they approve them very quickly or reach out if there are any issues or questions. They get very busy around major holidays but always make sure to give us a heads up before things get full - above and beyond! On our first visit, a manager came out to the house and met our pets and set us up with a very solid lock box for the house key that the sitters use to enter and exit. They check the mail and will water plants if needed too. They always give our boys so much love and treats and make sure they get some play time in every visit. They fill their food bowls, top off the water fountain, scoop the litter, and even sweep up! Great service! Their prices have gone up quite a bit since we first signed up - but what hasn't nowadays? Everything from start to completion was very seamless. We asked for Sitter4Paws' service to bring our dog from our wedding venue back home because the venue would not allow for our dog to be in the reception hall. They scheduled an initial consultation meeting, which was paused half way through as our consultant had some emergency but we hopped back on a few hours later promptly. He helped to set up a meet and greet for our sitter to meet our dog, then I simply showed her where the treats were and how to work the digital locks. On the day of our wedding, the sitter brought our dog home and even sent a pic of her having a blanket on him because it was a rather cold day (thank you!). The experience with Sitter4Paws was wonderful. They made accommodations since I was a little outside their service range. I hope they open a location in the San Fernando Valley (Burbank, Sunland, Shadow Hills). All the sitters read the instructions carefully. I would advise to put signs up to help them out as well. Their cancellation policy is reasonable and they don't price gauge you for changing plans. Although socialization with other dogs is important but having my dog stay at day care, they often come home sick or have diarrhea even at 5 star resorts. Also accidents are more susceptible at daycares when staying for long periods of time which is why this was such a great experience. read more

The first time I contacted Autumn I was in desperate need of a sitter for the following day since I had an emergency and this is my first pup so entrusting my baby with someone was causing me more stress than I wanted BUT Autumn met with me late in the evening for a consultation at her house and she made me feel absolutely comfortable leaving Kimber with her. This review is solely for their free consultation and the way they interact with their clients immediately online and in person (5 stars) and factors in a minus one star on what I think can be improved in their manner of operating. I needed a sitter for two weeks and this place had excellent reviews. I didn't end up using their service because they require a lock box due to their manner of employee distribution and management. Autumn did stop by for a free consultation and is an extremely positive and enthusiastic as well as kind presence. I so badly wanted to use their service but I just could not be comfortable with having to use a lockbox and Autumn was unwilling to make an exception to ease me into being a customer; the reasoning seems kind of counterintuitive since you hire a sitter to be responsible, consistent and reliable and a lockbox pretty much negates that, which is to say e.g. the sitter needs someone to fill in for them so they call another staff member...the impression they gave me was that a lot changes (or has a high probability to) between their employees and, having a skittish, bratty, needy but adorable cat, I'm not sure I'm comfy with a potential revolving door of faces coming in to tend to his basic needs...it definitely would be better than boarding. I ultimately went with a sitter that did not need a lock box and I felt comfortable with one person handling the key and my pet. If you don't mind a lockbox then I have a feeling this service would be excellent since Autumn and her company seem very accountable and reasonable. read more

I'm pretty sure I get called "crazy cat lady". My take on it is that I just have to have the best for my furry friends. I recently moved to the SGV and needed a new sitter for my three cats. Having been a pet sitter/dog walker myself, I am just a bit picky when it comes to hiring others to come into my home to take care of my pets. Not only was I comfortable with Autumn right at our first orientation meeting, but she went above my expectations with an email every night and even pics of my kitties. My husband and I planned to visit family out of state during Christmas holidays for three days. I was looking for a reliable cat sitter on Yelp and found Autumn who is around my area. I called Autumn and scheduled an appointment next day morning before work. They responded to my request immediately and were able to set up a home counseling next day morning at 7:00 am. Ray is Autumn's business partner and he is also our cat sitter. He came by to get a basic understanding of what our needs are. He took a note on the locations of litter boxes, food, water, and our cats' personalities. These notes were later reflected in the online profile, which allows pet owners to edit. We have an automated food feeder, so we needed someone to clean the litter boxes, replenish water cups, and play with the kittens. Our cats were shy and didn't interact much with Ray during the counseling. Thankfully Ray himself also has two cats so he knows cats take some time to warm up. The entire counseling didn't take more than 15 minutes. I was given an online account shortly which I later edited to add further details. At the end of each of Ray's visit, he sent us a few pictures of our fur babies and described his visit. All the conversions were sent via email notifications or can be retrieved via my online account. The experience with Ray was wonderful and somehow heartwarming. We just got back from a 3 day trip and the first time we left our two dogs and cat in the house for pet sitting experience. From the consultation at the start to the various options for times/frequency to the pictures received at every visit, I absolutely recommend their service. We worked with Ray, and although our two small dogs are a little hard to work with (one bit him in the leg on the first visit, my absolute nightmare), he communicated very well and we decided to try to make it work. I was very grateful for his patience and willing to work with our less-than-social-rockstar dogs for a few days. While it may or may not be the best things for our dogs in the future, we will definitely be using the service again for our cat, who is diabetic and needs insulin shots twice a day. Our senior pitbull, Felix, is a former shelter dog and any type of kennel would cause him extreme anxiety. We were away for 3 weeks and boarded him with Autumn and Ray and they were AWESOME!
