THEY CUT MY DOG'S NOSE…read more We took my dog in for a very basic, general cut. She's an extremely well behaved and relaxed dog, and yet we got a call from them saying that they cut her nose because she sneezed. When we came in, they were extremely casual about it, almost as if it is normal and we shouldn't overreact to the fact that we're about to take our dog into the vet because there's blood dripping down here face. They gave us the contact info of a vet that is an hour away from our house, saying that they would see us free of charge if we went in immediately. Naturally, if your dog was wining with pain from her nose being cut open you'd want to take her to the closest vet possible (but I'm sure they didn't want to have to pay for that bill). I understand that honest mistakes happen, but the lack of empathy or even apology that we were given was extremely telling of the people who run this establishment. The reviews were great so I trusted this place, but after cutting hundreds of dogs' hair, it's shocking that they cut my dog because of a simple sneeze. Don't take your pet here.

I've been taking bestie here for maybe a year now and I swear he comes back looking even cuter and like himself? His fur is so soft and fluffy. I've had groomers in the past just shave my doggy down and his fur would grow back weird. But my dogs fur grows back nice and soft and actually easier to manage because he has a curly type of hair. Whenever I go I expect to wait a few hours. I do not mind though because my groomer does a beautiful and consistent job each time. I highly recommend fluffy puppy for anyone in the market for getting there fluffy puppy groomed here. They definitely know what there doing. He came out looking fresh, smelling good, happy, along with a cute Fluffy Puppy dog bandana. There are coffee and food spots nearby, so while Lucy is being taken care of, I usually grab a coffee, walk around the nearby shops, and relax until she's ready.

When we adopted him and his partner, they were super neglected advance case rescues--and this little guy has bad lungs, liver, pancreas, and personality (IYKYK these little jerks). In 2025, after we took out the poor guy's remaining teeth, his pancreas started failing post-op. It took us about 6 months to get him back to health. In that time, he lost a ton of weight and most of his hair. His butt was actually bald! Then, miraculously, or through pure yorkie dark side terrier magic, he actually got MORE healthy with MORE hair...but different hair, and different texture, and even different colors! It is wild. Today, we took him in for his first groom since being on the verge of death, and the little guy looks like a puppy again. He clearly feels great with the last few months of bulk coming off. In any case, this is THE best spot for getting your dog groomed if you need to know that they will be treated right. I am so worried 24/7 about this little fragile dude, and Roch and Gertrude is the only place I leave him besides the vet where I cannot keep eyes on him.

Now I moved and have two dogs and bring them to Pasadena location. They are not cheap but to me it's worth the price because I know my pups are well taken care of. I took my tortoise to Exotic Animal Veterinary Center because he had stopped eating, hoping to finally understand what was wrong and get a clear treatment plan. Instead, I spent over $1,000 in just two days and left feeling like I had more questions than answers. The doctor was unable to give us the explanations we were asking for, and the diagnostic process felt extremely slow. We waited what felt like forever for results, and ultimately, we still did not have a clear answer about why my tortoise wasn't eating or what was actually wrong with him. What made the experience even more frustrating was that despite spending such a significant amount of money, I felt like the focus was on recommending additional services and costs rather than giving us meaningful answers. I understand that veterinary medicine, especially exotic animal medicine, can be complicated and that not every case has an immediate diagnosis. But when a client spends over $1,000 in two days, they should at least leave with clear communication, a reasonable explanation of the findings, and an understanding of what happens next. Instead, I left frustrated, disappointed, and still searching for answers about my tortoise. Very disappointing experience. Based on my experience, I would not return.

We adopted our two other birds from local fosters and non-profits. After texting the number of the organization, I was immediately in touch with Marie, sweetest person-ever! We coordinated a date and time to come by and see the available cockatiels ready for adoption. I brought my partner and daughter along. As we got a review of the birds, Marie's hyacinth macaw Howard came over to greet us. Such a handsome, boy! We landed in adopting out a young male cockatiel (likely to be 1 year old due to the pearls still visible in his feathers) named "Patrick". He'd been saved from the elements, rescued after being dropped from the sky by a crow. Marie helped get him back in tip top shape, provided me the labs for his current health state (healthy!) and his DNA sexed paperwork. I appreciated the level of care and service Marie provided. She was professional, detailed, and super accommodating. I really loved her level of attention to understanding each and every bird's quirks, preferences, and history. Before we left, Marie provided a bit of food, snacks, and helped us pick a few perches and toys that "Patrick" would be happy with from his current cage. I was very grateful to be able to donate towards the foundation through Venmo. They also do cash or check, or Zelle. The feel the contribution/donation fee is minuscule compared to the value you give back to new member(s) of your flock. I understand only time will heal him from the trauma of his ordeal. We hope the love, care, and patience, our family can provide him with the right environment to help him heal at his own pace. If you're ever looking to adopt a bird in need, look no further than Fine Feathered Friends. Marie is wonderful and so dedicated, and it shows!

We arrived at 6pm when the event was supposed to start and person out front said they were still setting up and would be starting soon. They let us in the main area where the cats were a few minutes later but apparently they meant they were BARELY starting to set up. We had to awkwardly maneuver and wait around while they were getting tables and chairs set up and then we didn't get started til 645 which is pretty bad when your event is advertised as starting at 6. It was nice to walk around to see and pet the cats but that was not the primary point of the visit. What made this a pretty poor experience was the instructor and lack of organization. I've been to other paint events and you usually know what the inspo is ahead of time and the paint palette is provided with all the colors and right amounts you would need. They passed around the inspo pic and we had to wait while it was going around the room to take a picture and then we had to go up front to pick our own colors. The brushes were so overused and limp, floppy, and just in bad shape. The instructor said maybe 3 sentences to say she was going to outline the cat but there was no guidance whatsoever around how to shade, how to outline, how to do anything. It was not beginner friendly whatsoever and I think most of us were literally just winging it. The instructor also did not walk around the room or offer any assistance, feedback or help. I could tell some others were over painting and just got up to play with the cats. The concept is great but execution kind of failed. I'm sure they're not a trained paint instructor and maybe an employer or volunteer who likes to paint but that doesn't make for a good experience. We expected to have direction and instruction to paint. So essentially we paid $40 to be around cats and maybe $5-$10 worth of materials. Definitely would not recommend this event.

Fantastic First-Time Boarding Experience at The Cat's Pajamas I recently had to board my cat for the first time while family members with cat allergies visited for the holidays. After thorough research, I chose The Cat's Pajamas in Pasadena, and I couldn't be happier with the experience. From the start, the owner, Laura, was incredibly friendly, personable, and reassuring. She walked me through their various boarding options, and I ultimately decided on a suite for my cat. At $35 per day, it was a very reasonable price for the comfort and care provided. I also appreciated that they required up-to-date veterinary records and vaccination history, which reassured me about their professionalism and commitment to safety. My cat isn't used to being outside my home, and any trip in his carrier usually means a vet visit or a claw-trimming session--neither of which he enjoys. Initially, he wasn't too sure about the facility when I dropped him off. However, Laura's kindness and the calm, cat-focused environment helped him settle right in. I was relieved to hear from Laura at pick-up that he had done really well. He ate just fine and seemed comfortable in his suite, which even had a window view (he enjoyed watching the parking lot action outside). The facility is clean, well-organized, and clearly designed with cats in mind. Although their policy charges for any portion of a day (so we paid for five days since he was there part of Tuesday through Saturday), the cost felt fair considering the level of care. I loved that Laura provided a detailed progress report, and I could tell she genuinely cared about my cat's well-being. It's no wonder this place has been around since 1987--they know cats, they care deeply, and they provide a safe, happy environment for pets. I wouldn't hesitate to board my cat here again. I've taken my cats here for more than 4 years now and can't say enough great things about this place. Before the Cat's Pajamas, one of my cat's was called "The NInja" because she actually drew blood from a groomer once. She had to be one of their worst cases when we started, but they never missed a beat, cleaning her angry poops and urine as if it were a pleasure. Robin and her assistants were so good with her that over time, they did not even need to use the cone on her while she was groomed. They made great strides in reducing my poor kitty's stress. These ladies are cat experts and they have seen it all. I always asked them about fleas, meds, food, vets, etc before anyone else because they have the real experience. I recently asked them how to introduce a new pet and the answer was so original, thoughtful and practical. They know so much that I think they should be writing books on cat care. I have left my beloved kitty in the care of The Cat's Pajamas several times over the last 2-3 years and I have always had a great experience and my cat has been very happy and healthy when I pick her up. She usually stays in an "apartment" for $15/day. She has also been groomed there and they do an excellent job! She was adopted from a shelter and to regrow her hair and get rid of tangled and matted hair from her time in the shelter, we choose a "lion cut" and they did a great job! read more

I called the morning of my scheduled drop off just to verify that everything was complete and that I was clear to bring my cat in. The woman who answered confirmed that everything looked good, that all paperwork was complete, and that I could drop off before 6 PM (closing time). I told her I would be there at 5 PM and she said that was perfect. I drove there, knocked on the door, rang the doorbell, and called multiple times. No answer. No response from anyone. No call back or explanation. I was left standing outside with my cat and had to scramble to find a last minute sitter. If I had not confirmed that morning I could understand a miscommunication, but to be told everything is confirmed and then to have no one there is unacceptable. I would not trust this facility with my pet. One star, and I will not be returning.

First red flag, but we were polite and wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt; maybe it was just unluckiness on their part. We finally dropped our cat off today, only for them to call us to pick her up less than an hour later for extremely flimsy reasons--apparently, our cat was unhappy ("spicy") and swiped a few times--AFTER her nails had already been cut, thus there were no sharp claws or any blood drawn. Just some soft paw swipes. Seriously? Our cat is literally a RAGDOLL who's all bark (or meow) and no bite whatsoever--probably the EASIEST breed to work with. I highly doubt most cats are perfect angels at the groomer, so why send her home for a few swipes and general grumpiness? I reiterate that our cat was NOT having an anxiety attack or running rampant/drawing blood with her claws. She was simply exhibiting normal, "unhappy at the groomer" cat behavior. Honestly, it seems like they were just shorthanded (apparently, our scheduled original groomer no-showed again today lol) and needed an excuse to send our cat home ASAP. We noted that there was at least one other cat there, judging by the distressed meows, but only one available groomer. So they took the path of least resistance and didn't even TRY to accommodate our cat. Just sent her home at the first sign of discomfort. They probably figured that since we were so nice about the previous reschedules, we wouldn't make a fuss about this either. It feels pretty bad to take hours out of our week to schedule (and repeatedly reschedule) this appointment, only to have it canceled day-of within a single hour. And they STILL charged us $20 for only the nail trim after giving up without doing ANYTHING else. We could have easily trimmed her nails at home, for free, without making the 45-minute round trip twice (again to reiterate, she is a Ragdoll. Trimming her nails is nothing). Overall, they were so, so, so unprofessional and disappointing. Seriously expected better based on the other reviews. Maybe the good groomers were the bo-shows or something because all we got in the end was disappointment, a few wasted hours, and a wholly ungroomed cat. And we paid $20 for it too. Lol.

We left for Hawaii the day before the fires broke out and i watched on my camera system in horror as our windows blew out from the severe winds filling the house with embers, ash and branches from outside. She was there making sure it was taken care of and that all babies were still inside. She also ran to all her pets in immediate danger and evacuated them to her own home. She went even more above and beyond than she normally does and i will be forever grateful.

He came home severely itchy and I thought it was because of the blade, but when I looked at his skin he had tiny fleas crawling on his skin. I was so disappointed because he did not have fleas when I took him in. Now he's nonstop biting and scratching and it's unfair for me to pay and leave tip when he gets returned to me with fleas on him. I really love how you guys cut his hair but not sure if I will return this is a sanitary issue.

My dogs hate the groomers, but the workers here are always so gentle with them. The worker kept comforting my scared Frenchie saying "it's ok big boy" lool since he's a baby in a big body. My Pomeranian hates getting his nails trim too, but they always massage him and make him feel comfortable. The workers have never cut their nails too deep that they bleed. It's affordable, quick, and efficient! Will definitely be back.

Furthermore, every time they complained about my dog being difficult and asked for extra tips, I always paid them generously without hesitation. Today, I was in a car accident. I immediately called to give them a heads-up that I would be 10 minutes late. However, they completely refused to take my dog, claiming 10 minutes was too long of a delay. A 10-minute emergency delay does not ruin a grooming session. They are happy to take extra tips and demand total cooperation from customers, but they show zero flexibility or empathy when a customer faces a real emergency. They have permanently lost my business.

And found price reasonable enough for some basic grooming of my furry companion. Arrived and found a small out of the way grooming spot with a friendly owner who was insightful and warm. My dog was done in about an hour and a halt and was perfectly bathed and trimmed and happy. Wpuld most definitely recommend if you are looking for a spot in the Pasadena area.

Right away, the vibe stood out--clean, calm, and nothing like those overcrowded shops with stressed, barking dogs in cages. It made a huge difference, especially for a puppy's first experience. The owner is super friendly and patient. He really takes his time with each dog, You can tell he genuinely cares about keeping the dog comfortable, not just rushing through appointments. My Yorkie came out looking amazing and, more importantly, not stressed at all. If you want a place where your dog is treated with care and the whole experience is low-stress, this is definitely the spot.

She has multiple razor cuts, she has pokes from the shears on her head!! And her anus is bright red& irritated!! In her 3 years of life I've never experienced this before from any previous groomer we've taken her. It's fucked up to take her home and her go into hiding to lick her wounds. This place is ridiculous and please check on your pets if you are leaving them at this establishment. For the price we paid the level of "expertise" & "professionalism" is concerning. I don't recommend.
