I have brought Lucy here a few times for dental cleanings and have had a great experience. Her teeth look very clean afterward! Crystal is wonderful about greeting us and checking us in. The process is easy and relaxed. I recommend calling ahead for an appointment, ideally a month or so in advance. Once Lucy goes in, her cleaning takes about 30 minutes. Afterward, they review the cleaning with me and give me feedback on her teeth and oral health. We're usually there about an hour total. There are coffee and food spots nearby, so while Lucy is being taken care of, I usually grab a coffee, walk around the nearby shops, and relax until she's ready. read more

My yorkie went from a complicated adult rescue with a lot of health problems to SUPER OLD on the verge of death scary decrepit in the last year. Dude almost died when we had to remove all his teeth. When we adopted him and his partner, they were super neglected advance case rescues--and this little guy has bad lungs, liver, pancreas, and personality (IYKYK these little jerks). In 2025, after we took out the poor guy's remaining teeth, his pancreas started failing post-op. It took us about 6 months to get him back to health. In that time, he lost a ton of weight and most of his hair. His butt was actually bald! Then, miraculously, or through pure yorkie dark side terrier magic, he actually got MORE healthy with MORE hair...but different hair, and different texture, and even different colors! It is wild. Today, we took him in for his first groom since being on the verge of death, and the little guy looks like a puppy again. He clearly feels great with the last few months of bulk coming off. In any case, this is THE best spot for getting your dog groomed if you need to know that they will be treated right. I am so worried 24/7 about this little fragile dude, and Roch and Gertrude is the only place I leave him besides the vet where I cannot keep eyes on him. read more

This is an overdue review but I felt like I had to share how great R&G is. Ever since we adopted our little love Max in 2019, we wanted the best for him and that includes finding the best groomers who he would be comfortable with and treat him nice. My wife came across R&G when looking for dog groomers and we've been coming back to R&G regularly since 2019. Later, in 2021 we rescued another little senior dog named Mimi. She had a bit more sass than Max and unfortunately her last owners hadn't done the best job caring for her coat. R&G treated her with so much love and respect that they were able to give her a bath and give her a great looking trim that we almost didn't recognize her. She looked like a refreshed dog. Unfortunately, Mimi passed in 2023 but R&G was also caring enough to be there for us as we navigated that loss. To this day we continue to recommend R&G to anyone looking for a dog groomer because they will treat their pets like the family they are. Even though we moved 40+ minutes away from Pasadena, we still make the drive to come here because they are worth it. So happy to find this pet spa yesterday, close to our new home rental. I spoke to Liz in charge and she was able to squeeze our small dog, a Toxirn, Cairn and Chihuahua mix, in that day. Wonderful news because Dottie hasn't been groomed for nearly 2 months. We lost our house, groomer and all important paperwork in the Eaton fire and everything has been topsy turvy since. Plus we are away for some weeks in 5 days' . I really needed help in a hurry and there it was! A friendly environment. We were able to provide the necessary paperwork for the big D (actually, she's pretty small and delicate). They are very particular about current Rabies injections: quite right too. Un-scented shampoo available. We talked through requirements. None of us wanted to do anything overly radical flor our 2 month old rescue. We handed her over. A couple of hours later our bundle of fun was returned. If she could smile, well, she would have. Looking similar but smarter. No shivering or shaking. A happy camper, like myself. What a gem! I took my pup here from a recommendation from our neighbor and I will never go else where. They do a wonderful job making my dog smell and look like the furry lil angel he is. He gets excited to come here and seems to really like the staff so I know they treat him with kindness even when I'm not around because if there was any reserve this dog would make it known that he doesn't want to be there. Also they are totally covid safe which is fantastic.. You check in from outside, they come to your car to grab your pup. And they are very timely. They do a great job grooming but the best part about this place for me is the non anesthesia dental cleaning. I started taking my dog for these at my old vets but since we moved I couldn't find a place close by until going to book another groom and seeing they do them here! Previously, at my old vets it was an all day ordeal for a dental cleaning without anesthesia, but here it was literally 30mins and they did a fantastic job. My dog is small and likes baths/haircuts so I like doing those myself but any time I feel like spoiling him or he needs a dental cleaning we will be coming here. I would confidently recommend this spot to even the most particular pet owners. *Also they ask if there are any areas to watch out for on your pet before taken them in which I really do appreciate this cuz my lil guy has a wonky knee and it's never been aggravated by coming here so again, I know they're treating him with kindness and true care. read more

I am first super grateful to find someone to groom a cat. I have a super fluffy cat named Fish and her fur is soooo long. The groomers have helped her keep her dignity and do a really nice job keeping her booty and belly fur under control. Nothing worse than cleaning poo out of fluffy butt fur. We met with one of their employees outside their location to discuss our dog and the type of cut we wanted. If you have a bichon, you know that finding a good groomer can be tough. They were super knowledgeable in the bichon look and spent roughly 10-15 min with us going through the details. Besides the grooming, they did everything right. Because she's highly anxious and nervous, I thought it best to leave the nail trimming to the pros (dark nails, can't see the quick = potential recipe for disaster). I am writing this review after just under three years of loyal patronage to this business. I have a Miniature Schnauzer and since the earliest visit had pre-determined regular appointment every 6 weeks. After our last visit I was shocked and surprised at the level of service my Schnauzer received (pictures attached) and returned to discuss this with the front end attendant on duty. To my dismay she immediately began making excuses claiming she witnessed the finished product and everything was fine. That maybe my Schnauzer had cow licks, she began to blame my dog, saying that he's difficult and hard to handle. Admittedly, I became offended and asked why after all this time if he (my dog) was so difficult wouldn't you communicate with me and inform me that you couldn't manage his grooming needs rather than provide sub level service and continue to charge top dollar fees without explanation? This past week I was contacted as usual regarding his next scheduled appointment and I confirmed. After leaving work early to make this appointment and arriving at the "salon" I was once again approached by this same individual " Leann wouldn't even come to the front and join in this conversation" only to be informed me that they thought best if I took my dog elsewhere. Why send messages to c o inform appointment only to to me away? That could have been handled much differently. What happened to servicing loyal customers with courteous communication and a simple..."we'll make it right" attitude? That was definitely NOT my experience with this "salon" today! read more

This pet spa is truly amazing. I called to get my dog an appointment to have nail grinding and they got scheduled her within a few hours. I took her in and they took her back right away. It took 3 people to do her nails but thats typical, I have a pug and they are stubborn and don't do so well with this. The techs were amazing and had a special technique for pugs. They were fast and were able to do a great job on her long nails. The place it self is cute and comfy. They have water for you while you wait. Parking is easy. I tried this place out for nail cutting when I wasn't happy with the job my vet tech did. They are awesome here! She came out and introduced herself gently to my very nervous pup, offered her a treat, and even had her yorkie try to be-friend my scared girl. They carried her to the back where I could see everything going on and they oh so gently cut my pup's nail to perfection! When they couldn't get the last leg, one of the girls held my dog while the other cut the nails. They didn't put her on her side and hold her down like at the vet. This was such a nicer experience. My dog doesn't have easy nails to cut - they're small and black and yet they did an amazing job. They are short but they didn't cut the quick and they're not sharp. The price was also very reasonable. The spa is cute, clean, and the girls are SO friendly. I'll definitely be coming back and I hope everyone else checks it out too so this place can stay in business for a long while. Yay for finding great doggie services! read more

It's been so challenging to find a new groomer we trust for my dog (Charlie) since we moved back to CA from Seattle. After doing alot of research and reading alot of yelp reviews, I finally decided to make an appt for a bath at R+G. Charlie was in need of an overdue nail trim and gland expression but our Feb and March weekends are just crazy booked and the only time we had was this Saturday. I made an appt request on Yelp Thursday night for that Saturday thinking we'd probably have to find a back-up groomer since it's so short-noticed and likely they don't have an open slot. But to my (pleasant) surprise, Leanne emailed me the next day to offer an early Sat afternoon slot! The booking process was easy and Leanne was extremely friendly to coordinate with (i.e. providing vaccination record). My dog is always scared to go to the groomers, and this time it was no exception. He was crying as soon as we got to R+G, but the staff was so friendly the whole time which made us feel better about leaving Charlie there. He was ready for pick-up in ~1.5hour. When we came back to pick up Charlie we asked how he did, and one of the staff told us Charlie didn't seem to enjoy most of the service. I really appreciate their transparency and honesty, instead of telling me Charlie loved the experience which is what most owners would want to hear probably. Because I know Charlie gets nervous and anxious with strangers (esp when we're not in sight), and doesn't like baths/blow dryer/nail trimming, I was not at all surprised to hear that he did not seem to enjoy it; now I know that I can trust them to tell the truth =) . Charlie seemed very happy when we picked him up (tail up!), smelled fantastic, and his fur was silky smooth! We may have found the grooming salon we've been searching for! This place is amazing! My elderly chihuahua is very traumatized by a past pet spa that ripped out her claw. She absolutely freaks out when anyone gets near her paws. It is a very stressful experience to trim her nails. The ladies here trimmed her nails and she was so relaxed and didn't freak out at all.
