The grooming is excellent here. I was turned away at two other groomers with my Pomeranian but they have been so good with him. We have been there several times and he gets better every time he is getting much less reactive and more comfortable. They take their time with both our dogs and we are always happy with how they look and smell afterwards. I was using healthy spot for 16 years with a previous pup in marina del rey and was always extremely pleased with the grooming staff. Now I moved and have two dogs and bring them to Pasadena location. They are not cheap but to me it's worth the price because I know my pups are well taken care of. One of my dogs actually pulls me into the store when he gets there so you know he has had good experiences there. read more

Cat mom here. If you doom scroll alot online, youre bound to get ads for cat//dog food. In this case, ive seen ads for smalls but if you order online you have to buy alot at once and i think you have to start a subscription but can cancel anytime. They have smalls here if you want to see if youre kitty would eat this. I have 1 super picky kitty and the other that just loves it. Havent notice a difference yet but just started so hopefully itll be good. The cat treats we bought were on sale since they were in stock for the christmas season. Visited this store a few times, initially they were very helpful if I had any questions and gave great recommendations. The last time I visited was because my cat got out and returned with fleas. I've dealt with this before and know what has worked in the past. When I asked where the flea collars were, a very excited employee gave me a very long spiel on why the all natural drops are much better etc etc etc., and then unprompted gave me 5 mins worth of advice regarding his food & kibble. I ended up going with the all natural flea drops for my cat after multiple pushes from the employee, they didn't work and now I'm having to have my house flea bombed. I can appreciate a dedicated employee, but upset I was told to try something (unprompted) that was a "much better option" that turned out to be extremely ineffective and felt a bit chastised regarding the food. read more

I first came to Healthy Spot to shop for my dog and I noticed they also offer grooming. After shopping at this location a few times (amazing sales assistants btw), I decided to book a bath appointment for my dog. The experience didn't wow me and I ended up taking my dog to a different business the next time. Today, I took her to Healthy Spot just to give it another shot since I do like shopping at this location and we were assigned to Grace. There is something about Grace I really like. She was extremely friendly and has a very sweet presence. I do notice a difference with how my dog came out of the groomers today compared to the very first time there with a different groomer. My anxious Mini Pinscher hates having nails trimmed. She freaks out. I decided to try this Healthy Spot. I've been to the West Hollywood & Los Feliz stores for dog events and always have fun. The Century City one I went to when I adopted my dog from Love and Leashes. The guy was incredibly helpful and so patient with me. Based on all those good experiences, Pasadena store seemed worth trying. Street parking's terrible so we parked a few blks away. But once inside Healthy Spot, it was nice & relaxing. I asked if we could do a walk-in for nail trim. They accommodated us and my dog didn't freak out. She calmly went with the groomer, 15 mins later, she was done!! My dog loves this place. We can't walk near here without her pulling me toward it. It's clear everyone working here loves animals, specifically dogs. There's always a good selection of treats and toys you can't find at other big box pet stores. It's definitely more on the spend-y side, but they run sales often. Since Bella is a fancy girl, she likes her spa days. She gets a bath and a teeth brushing, and comes back to me smelling like a million bucks. Soft af too. I take two of my dogs to this location for grooming - a miniature schnauzer and a labordoodle - and the groomers are excellent and pay attention to detail. Great experience with first sales assistant as I was walking through the store to go to the vet next door. I parked in a parking spot in their lot marked for both Healthy Spot and Modern Animal, and it is also a disabled parking spot. I patronized both businesses in the hour I was parked. I went back into Healthy Spot to make my purchase and was followed outside by a different sales associate who explained I was allowed only 30 minutes of parking. She was not aware of both signs being on the wall of the disabled parking spot. I hope she reads this to learn that there is no time limit in a disabled parking spot while patronizing the businesses. I understand what she was trying to say, yet her flippant comment of "we appreciate you" as I was explaining the signage, cutting me off and not looking at me as she walked away rubbed me the wrong way. read more

We thought her coat was ruined and her colors were not going to come back. Until we met Vanessa. Her coat is already coming out darker and more coarse like a Wire fox terrier should be. After my dog was traumatized by his last groomer, I decided to try out Healthy Spot today. My neighbor had recommended it. Donna was gentle and kind with Archie and followed my haircut instructions. Archie looked very cute and comfortable after the appointment. I really like how the grooming happens in a room with glass windows, so everything is out in the open and there's no allowance for mistreatment. The reason I gave 4 and not 5 stars is due to the duration - it took about 3.5 hr from dropoff to pickup which is a pretty long time. This also means Archie was likely waiting in the kennel for a long time before it was his turn. Overall, very nice staff and great experience! read more

Cindy at Healthy Spot Pasadena has been our go to groomer. Dip has had a spinal cord surgery and has a disability, and even after his injury I know he's in safe attentive hands. He requires some extra attention and care these days and they took my concerns seriously. They consistently listen to my grooming preferences and really do the best job, better than any mobile groomer I had come out (HS wouldn't groom until he was a year past his spinal surgery date, which is understandable). Dip can be touchy, but he always is happy to see his friends at Healthy Spot and I appreciate being able to return after his injury and get the same great reliable service. Even more so, now that he has a disability and is a little fragile! It's expensive but they really do take their time and are consistent and trustworthy, which is priceless to me. read more

I'm writing this review on my way back from this amazing store! I've never experienced such friendly, knowledgeable staff before. Skye was so kind & was genuinely interested in my boys. She offered so much valuable information & was just such a pleasure to be around. I am originally from Pasadena & currently live in NC but visit very often and have never been to this store. I decided today to just stop by and buy a few toys for my Pitt Bull and Belgian Malinois. I am delighted to say I walked out with much more, not only did Skye offer me free samples for my pups to try, she offered me amazing advice & information to help some of the dietary issues they've been having. I wish I had a store like this closer to home because this truly was an amazing experience. I am a bit emotional writing this review because I'm often fearful of people's reactions when I tell them the breeds of my dogs since so many people judge big "aggressive" breeds, especially rescues, but Skye was so kind. If you are able to survive the parking hunt at this location, the staff are absolutely phenomenal! I wouldn't recommend going on the weekends or evenings, because those are the times we haven't been able to find parking (there are also puppy classes that run at night, so most of the parking spots are blocked off for the safety of the attendees). We usually go in the evenings after work, so it doesn't always work out well for us. However, they are well-stocked with Moch's favorite raw food, goat milk, and a wonderful assortment of toys (we got the camping tent and sleeping bags for the little guy to work on his nose work). We never struggle to find what we are looking for, and the team is always readily available if you have any questions. Something we really like is how they aren't pushy about their grooming services available. We informed them we had a mobile groomer the first time they asked, and that was that. Too sad Jae is gone. This time Jasmine did the grooming for my baby. The experience was OK but I don't think my baby enjoyed her service. I originally tried scheduling with Miki after Jae is gone since many reviews said how good she is but too bad my girl had gastroenteritis the day before the original appointment (she even went to emergency) so I appreciated that they could reschedule her with the soonest appointment available with Jasmine. It was at 10am and no other dogs were there but it still took Jasmine 10 minutes to come out and greet us and I saw her was only wandering around the table area (maybe she was getting ready). It was fine and not a big deal but when I tried to discuss with her how to cut baby's hair, she seemed didn't know what to do. Then I received a phone call 3.5 hours later said she would be ready to pickup in 20 minutes. I arrived at 30 minutes and my girl was obviously done (I saw Jasmine was working on another dog) but it took her again 15 minutes to take her out. I saw her walked into the back area then I started hear my girl barking (she wasn't barking before Jasmine went in). I heard she barked for 15 minutes before I could see her face. Jasmine was in there the whole time so I didn't know what she was doing. Then Jasmine told me how reactive and trouble to groom her when she brought her out. She said my girl would bark at a reflection, would bite (my girl is mouthy sometimes I admit but never really bite, only nibble as she's a very friendly dog with no temper. Just want attention), took 2 people to grind her nails, blah blah blah. Then she said they will have to charge me extra $35 for special handling next time with my baby. I was like I never heard of it. I asked Jae every time if my girl was doing great (I swear I asked EVERY TIME), he said every time that my girl had been great on his table. At least I never heard that she barked in the back whenever I picked her up. I told Jasmine the same thing. Then Jasmine said, 'oh, she wasn't good with Jae too. Jae just didn't want to say anything since he thought she was still a puppy and now she's almost 1 yr old.' Honestly, who knows if my girl's temperament changed, or Jasmine lied, or she mistreated my girl so my girl didn't like her. No one knows since I wasn't there to watch. They had raised their prices couple months ago (from $9x to $100 for a petite dog haircut excluding the tips) but I thought it's fine if they provide excellent service like Jae did but now they are going to charge me $35 special handling fee just because she was overreactive (remember she's a dog) and who knows if that's true or what caused it. They did charge me the same fee last time with a different groomer (I forgot her name) because my girl was matted and the groomer had to take extra time to brush it out. That time I totally understood the charge and thought it was reasonable. Interestingly the groomer last time (not Jae) didn't complain my girl being over reactive as well. Maybe Jasmine's energy doesn't get along well with my girl? I will try somewhere else for my girl grooming next time. Both my girl and I miss Jae dearly. I really think losing Jae is a big loss for Healthy Spot. read more
