I am extremely grateful for Sit Means Sit professionals who worked with my high energy, rambunctious, 10 month old Rottweiler mix rescue. Our struggle: leash pulling, dog reactivity, focus & settling around people. This program taught me how to communicate with my puppy and let go of the worry that I cannot manage my puppy inside or outside my home. 1) The program: very thorough consultation where they listen to your needs and recommend what they feel is best with ZERO judgement and pressure. I went with day training w private lesson due to my work schedule. You get tools needed to replicate the training at home. 2) The trainers: Kind, adaptable, observant and very easy to talk to. There are multiple as well so there is no worry that your pup isn't getting their dedicated training time. 3) The environment: Clean, air conditioned AND smells really nice. They do coat and safety checks on your pup before each session too! The best part is it doesn't end after a few lessons, we get to continue working on skills in group and private sessions as needed, so he gets the exposure I otherwise wouldn't be able to provide by myself. With their help and consistency on my part, I see my pups future staying bright read more

I can honestly say the third time was really the charm. After trying what felt like every other program, technique, and advice that never quite stuck, I finally found something that truly worked with Sit Means Sit. The difference has been nothing short of incredible. My dog didn't just improve a little, the transformation has been complete. Behaviors that once felt impossible to manage are now consistent and reliable. What really stood out to me was how effective and structured the approach is. It's not just about teaching commands, it's about building communication, trust, and clarity between me and my dog. I feel more confident as an owner, and my dog is more relaxed, focused, and responsive. It's like we finally understand each other. I have so much more confidence to finally take HONRAY places I wouldn't have tried to before. I love the group of trainers at sgv! read more

What can I say, sit means sit really changed our lives. Our pup was super reactive, loved to jump on people, pulled on our walks, and loved to bark when he wanted. Literally after Day 1 of class he was completely a better dog. He became more focused, he listened to all of our commands. And after Day 3 and a few group classes, he's the best dog I could've asked for. Also all The trainers are great at what they do, thanks Issac, Aaron, and Frank! Appreciate it guys! read more

We are beyond grateful for the team at Sit Means Sit SGV! We were extremely nervous about using an e-collar with our anxious Frenchton, Bauer, especially with all the scary misinformation online. But from the first conversation, the team was honest, knowledgeable, and took the time to thoroughly explain their balanced training approach. Even before our first class, they made sure we felt confident and informed. After just one session, we noticed immediate improvements--Bauer had better house manners and, for the first time ever, willingly placed and slept in his crate. We've tried so many methods before, and nothing worked until now! When we had issues with barking from our truck and at our neighbor, Kyle gave us extra time and training support that made a huge difference. He helped us better understand Bauer's body language and how to use the e-collar correctly. During group class, trainer Aaron went out of his way to help us adjust Bauer's leash and collar setup and gave us great tips to help him stay focused. We're so happy we didn't let fear or misinformation stop us from starting this journey. The Sit Means Sit SGV team is incredibly supportive, skilled, and genuinely cares about your dog's growth. Bauer is more confident, calm, and well-behaved--and we're excited to keep going with group classes. Highly, highly recommend them! read more

It felt like the perfect time to update our review since so much has happened since Maui began group training with Sit Means Sit back in August 2024. SMS was the first dog training program we've ever used- and it will absolutely be our last (because we found the best!). Shortly after starting, Maui passed his AKC Canine Good Citizen test and then became a Certified Therapy Dog just weeks later in October. Since then he's been volunteering at airports, schools, hospitals, colleges, libraries, and more- volunteering and spreading love and comfort everywhere he goes. We're so proud of Maui and so grateful to SMS for being a huge part of his success. The team is knowledgeable, supportive, and passionate about helping dogs thrive and becoming the best version of themself. Thank you for everything SMS and for helping Maui crush his long-term doggy goals! read more

Sit Means Sit made a night and day difference in our lives. Braulio has always been a great dog at heart, but going on walks used to be an absolute nightmare. He never learned how to properly socialize around other animals or people. While he knew basic commands, he would only follow directions if he decided there was something in it for him. Before finding this program, we had turned into that dog family skipping family events and missing out on life because we couldn't trust how he would behave. What truly sets Sit Means Sit apart is the trainers. They are constantly tuned in, catching the smallest details and body language cues to target his exact areas of growth during every session. That attention to detail makes all the difference in the world. It's been only 5 weeks, and our friends and family genuinely don't recognize him anymore. They joke that he just graduated from Harvard for dogs! He can now control his impulses, ignore distractions, and keep his full focus on us. We are extremely grateful to Sit Means Sit Dog Training for giving us our freedom back and guiding us toward a happy, stress-free life with Braulio. Most importantly, he is the happiest, most confident version of himself. We cannot recommend them enough. read more

I am shocked everyday with how much my dog has improved in just a few months. Sit means sit is full of kind trainers who truly care about you and your pup. My dog has seen trainers before and I wish we would have just started here. He used to be very stubborn, and aggressive. Little things that used to be so hard for him like getting into the car is now so easy! He has been doing so much better with strangers and commands. I'm so glad I found sit means sit. My dog loves going to trainings and group lessons too read more

What can I say, this program is amazing! We took our 18 month old yellow lab for the free orientation and consult and was sold by the people and amazing presentation of what could be done with our dog. We signed up for a three day over three week training class of about 8 hours per day and have been blown away by the results. She knows to heel and sit better than any dog on the block. She goes to her "place" until released, something we have never been able to do with any of our dogs. Door control and not having her rush the door and people has been a god send. My kids can even walk her on a walk around the block with ease and zero pulling. This program could not have come at a better time in our lives. Thank you so much for the gift of a trained dog. Great event today at Finkbiner Park Glendora for the members of Sit Means Sit! So amazing to see so many well trained dogs show their skills; recall to owner, agility course, and general great behavior in a crowd. Absolute cuteness overload and everyone got along from the tiniest pugs Legatha and Freya to giant doodle Maui and floofiest Thelma and Aussie Stryker. Some of these pups are so well trained with such dedicated owners that they go on to become therapy dogs - I have met several of them at City of Hope. We couldn't be happier with our experience at Sit Means Sit! Our dog had already completed some basic training but needed something more advanced, and this program was exactly what she needed. She went once a week for three weeks, and we joined the last hour or so each time to learn what she had learned, which was so helpful. The difference has been night and day. She's calmer, more focused, and listens beautifully, even around distractions. The trainers are attentive, caring, and truly know what they're doing. The package also includes a full year of group classes and unlimited pack walks, which is such an incredible value and keeps the training consistent. Who says you can't teach an old dog new tricks? SMS has given us the hope and tools to allow for our 10 yr old small reactive dog to live a different life. Where do I begin! Sit Means Sit literally changed our lives. I have a 6 year old reactive Australian Shepard who would aggressively bark and lunge at people/dogs out in public making it impossible to enjoy a peaceful walk. It resulted in us anxiously crossing the street every single time we came close to another person/dog, and having to leave him at home when I went out to cafes that would allow dogs but just knew we couldn't handle it. This was no way for either myself or my dog to live a happy life, so I decided to seek professional help. We've only been training with Sit Means Sit for 4 months and my dog is completely unrecognizable from the past! I'm now able to take him for harmonious walks and he's able to enjoy a coffee with me at the cafes without me feeling stressed the entire time. We cannot thank the trainers enough. Aaron, Isaac, Frank, Kyle, and Amy are INCREDIBLE. But hey, us owners still have to put in the work at home since the trainers aren't always with us! I truly enjoy every single class we've had and how it's also bonded my dog and I closer together. It's such a full circle moment seeing the progress my dog makes day after day. Honest review. I have to say that I was sceptical about using an e-collar and also about how much a dog could truly be trained here at sit means sit. However, my scepticism no longer exists. From the moment we showed up sit means sit had nothing but patience and kindness. We voiced our worries about an e-collar and the strategies and they took their time to explain everything to us very thoughtfully. Our dog Addy was rescued from a shelter and we got her at about 4 months. We did 1 puppy class and 3 all day classes with sit means sit. In addition, they allow you to attend group classes for up to a year I believe. I will say, I went to a couple group classes and realized I didn't need them because my dog was so good. lol No lying!! I did not want a "show dog" and I did not care for my dog to do any extensive tricks. I just wanted the basics to be very good. I got exactly what I wanted. My dog Addy comes back to me on command without hesitation. Even when there are distractions like other dogs, people, or squirrels, etc... She sits at my side for as long as I need her to. On walks she will not leave my side unless I allow her to "break" and have free time. I run with her for 3-6 miles and she will stay by my side. Oh yea all of this is off leash. If I ask her to place, let's say on a park bench, she will stay there until I allow her to break from her position. We go on hikes and walks and I have zero worries. To the people concerned about an e-collar. Here is what I can tell you. Our dog is super happy and loving. I know she didn't get treated badly because when we show up to sit means sit she goes crazy and gets excited and wants to run up to the trainers. In addition, She has zero aggression and is so kind. Dogs have been aggressive towards her and she never reacts. She has so much love and confidence. The e-collar allows Addy to live her best life. She gets to run free and be a dog because I know that she is safe and I can have her come back and listen to me on command. I don't fear her running in the streets or getting hurt because I can bring her back to me when danger is present. When we get our next dog we will 100% bring them to sit means sit. I never knew my relationship could be so amazing with my dog. She trusts me and I trust her in a way that I never experienced before coming to sit means sit. Their strategies work. read more

How wonderful it is to have a trainer 7 days per week that will come to your home when needed. That is what Sit Means Sit offers and does. We were very hesitant about a remote and E collar for our dog to be trained, however, after being educated with patience and confidence I wouldn't have it any other way. Our dog now walks without pulling, sits while we are having a conversation and no longer barks. She is now confident and calm. The best investment we've ever made. read more

We took our big boy, Kommo, to get trained. I will start with the cons because the list is so short. The program is extremely expensive. For us, it was over 2 grand. And that's the only con If we ever called the trainers, they came the very next day. They consistently have group training days. They offer the extra tools they use to train your dog in their shop so you can use them at home. When our collar broke, they got us a temporary one while the old one was fixed. The trainers all seem to adore their dogs to bits. To anyone saying 'e-collars are INHUMANE' please try to remember that dogs are not human beings. Their perception of pain is not the same as people. A small shock to them is like a tap on the shoulder. My Kommo's eyes lights up every time he sees me bring out his e-collar. He runs straight to me so I can put it on. There are people that also say this training is just suppression behavior and damages your dog. I would like to respond to that: Dogs do not speak english. If you tell a dog 'we will be in a populated area, please do not approach strangers', they not understand. What you do instead is encourage a behavior during a scenario and repeating that behavior until they are able to consistently associate it. Dogs learn from stability. The more you repeat events and have them maintain the same behavior, the more likely they will learn the keep that behavior in that scenario. Kommo is now very easy to take outside and barely needs his collar because he is used to being calm outside. Our husband and I are extremely proud of him. Many people now approach him but instead of being excited and overwhelming, he stays calm and lets people pet him. His recall is also AMAZING, which is vital for any emergency situations. One more point to make: our kommo is a Doberman. This breed is known to be one of the smartest of all dog breeds. They are also known to be easily trained. Some have shown the same intelligence as a four year old child. Your dog might need extra reinforcement or maybe they will not to receptive to the ecollar, and that is okay. I only wish this company had a trial period to see if how well a certain dog does with this program. Every dog is different, and though this program can help most dogs, there will always be an exception. read more

My fiancé and I were looking for training for our 10 month old pup and I seen their facility across his groomers. I got a consultation with Amy told her our wants and needs, and got straight to work. Casper would tug on walks , do a few commands, very stubborn would consume anything he can get into . fast forward about two months into his training I can honestly say he's made so much improvement! His trainers are so helpful and attentive which is very helpful for us. Group classes are so fun for us I look forward to them every Saturday. We have a great dog. He is affectionate, smart, has behaved exceptionally at AKC dog shows and is even a Grand Champion. But, he absolutely loses his mind on walks when he sees other dogs, big or small, it doesn't matter. Sometimes he goes nuts when he sees other people. He will spin up and scratch the heck out of my arms and just can't hold a proper heal. I finally came to the end of my rope and said, I just can't walk him anymore." We'd done some research on dog trainers and took him to Sit means Sit in Glendora. After 3 weeks our dog has done a 180 turn. He's attentive and pleasure to walk, heals properly, does not react to dogs or people. And, he doesn't go nutso at the sound of the doorbell. The staff at Sit Means Sit are fun to work with, personalize their training and make sure we can perform the training skills, and offer fun follow up training opportunities. I wish we had done this earlier. read more

Sit means sit, has been great for Pepper, I was one of those that was skeptical about using the e-collar. All the trainers show you how to train and practice using the e-collars correctly. The cost could be a little pricey for some people but it's well worth the investment. Pepper is a high energy dog and I don't think I would be able to manage her on my own. 100/10 would recommend. We wanted our puppy Stormi to be well trained so that we can take her with us wherever & wanted to make sure she would listen especially in public with distractions. Stormi is a puppy so she had so much energy when we first got her. She loved to jump on our family members and any stranger she saw which is a huge no no. She also pulled on her leash whenever we walked her and was biting us and everything in our apartment. We started off with one on one training and it was amazing. We worked with Kyle and he was seriously the best. Extremely helpful and encouraging and had all the answers to our questions. He would also follow up to make sure everything was going well. His dog skribble is the cutest and most behave dog. After one on one training, we were able to attend the group classes/pack walks and we are currently loving them. If you are struggling, the trainers will come around and help you. Angie, Frank & Aaron are so helpful at the group classes and always checking in on us. They constantly remind us that if there's anything that we are not understanding or something we need additional help with to schedule a one on one session at no extra charge, which is amazing and makes cost of the program worth the money. So glad we found this place and excited to see Stormi's growth over the next few months. read more

We adopted our dog Kira from the shelter when she was 9weeks old. We soon discovered that she was a biting machine with no off button. She proceeded to chew her way through the house, yard, and her humans. She didn't want to be touched or petted. My 3 yo grandson was terrified of her and rightfully so. We did not want her anywhere near him. She ended up spending most of the time in a crate. In our desperation, we discovered Sit Means Sit and Kyle, Frank, and Aaron . Through countless 1:1sessions, home visits, and weekly group classes. These trainers have been there to guide and support us every step of the way. Kira has become a loving dog who enjoys participating in our family activities. She is the first to get a good night kiss from my grandson. They even like to share a bed. We just started our second year with Sit Means Sit. The Weekly group classes and the pack walks are great for socializing and maintaining your dog's skills. My 2 y/o, 14 lb Cavalier King Charles Spaniel has had several behavioral issues, mostly surrounding her inattentiveness, distractibility, and separation anxiety. I did a private board-and-train for 5 weeks with her several months ago and followed the instructions for her transition back home, but there was very little, if any improvement. There were specific things I had requested be worked on, such as Bailey's reactivity to trash bins, etc. I was disappointed that those things had not improved. Months later, we encountered the Sit Means Sit booth at a local dog fair. After our free consultation with Amy, and seeing her dog's behavior, we were sold. They recommended 3 days of camp. The pricetag is not cheap, but I think the total package is well worth it. After the first lesson, they taught me to use the ecollar. We then had a my fiancé's family over for lunch, including 11 adults and 3 kids age 6 and under. Bailey barked only 1 time and for the majority of the afternoon, she stayed quietly on her place, receiving pets but not getting overexcited. In comparison, prior to her training she would always go immediately to my mom's sliding glass door and lick/paw at it while whining to go outside. During the lunch, Bailey did not have any oppirtunities to sit on me or my lap but she did not cry or whine at all and appeared content. Multiple family members praised Bailey's behavior at the lunch. After daycamp #2, we learned a drill to practice when we have visitors or packages delivered. We practiced the drill before they let us go home, making sure we were confident and had the steps down. We practiced this and a few days later my sister came to visit. Bailey barked 1x and then went to her place and waited quietly as I let my sis in without rushing to her. We practiced walking outdoors during the interim days and received a huge compliment from a stranger, "She is so well-behaved!" Over the 2 years of her life so far, Bailey has received countless compliments on her appearance but this was the very first time a stranger stopped to positively remark on her behavior and it completely floored me. During this week we continued to practice and Bailey, for the first time ever, was able to stay calm on her place while my fiancé took out the trash and rolled the bins to the curb. I left the house multiple times to get the mail or bring in packages and she stayed quiet on her place, albeit with her eyes trained on the front door waiting for me to return. Bailey has just finished lesson 3 and I imagine I will continue to see improvements. For example, she seems more confident and independent in general, often choosing to settle in her dog bed rather than follow me incessantly around the house as I go about my business. Because of Sit Means Sit, I have hope for Bailey's future as a therapy dog and I am confident she can pass the CGC test someday, probably soon! Included in the cost of her training is a year of group classes and pack walks we look forward to partaking in. Additionally, their trainer support is incomparable. I called on Christmas Eve because we were having some issues getting Bailey to listen to my sister on a walk, and a trainer picked up the phone, which was such am amazing surpise. I fully expected to leave a voicemail and get a call back in a couple of days, but these guys are DEDICATED. The trainer invited my sister to come to the pickup lesson a few days later and made time to work on these specific issues, patiently explaining, answerinf questions, and supervising my sister until she felt confident to work with Bailey. I cannot overstate my gratitude to these incredible humans and will continue to gush about them to everyone online and in person. If you are looking to change anything about your pup's behavior, you have nothing to lose and everything to gain by seeking out a free consultation! Don't wait! read more

The Sit Means Sit team will help you raise a happy and well-tempered dog. Our Rottweiler started the Sit Means Sit training program at 6 months old. Our intention was to learn how to raise a well-mannered dog, handle some resource guarding that he was expressing around high-value treats, and ultimately make sure we didn't end up with a 130lb menace. Our boy is now 10 months and has become our dream dog. Trent and his team showed us exactly how to think and impactfully work through obstacles with our dog. After the private boarding sessions, you get year-long access to the group classes. The group classes have been a great way for us to continue refining both our skills and our dog's skills-- all of this has transitioned seamlessly into building amazing behavior in and outside of class. It has also strengthened our bond and made him an even happier dog. Such a great experience! read more
