Where do I begin! Sit Means Sit literally changed our lives. I have a 6 year old reactive Australian Shepard who would aggressively bark and lunge at people/dogs out in public making it impossible to enjoy a peaceful walk. It resulted in us anxiously crossing the street every single time we came close to another person/dog, and having to leave him at home when I went out to cafes that would allow dogs but just knew we couldn't handle it. This was no way for either myself or my dog to live a happy life, so I decided to seek professional help. We've only been training with Sit Means Sit for 4 months and my dog is completely unrecognizable from the past! I'm now able to take him for harmonious walks and he's able to enjoy a coffee with me at the cafes without me feeling stressed the entire time. We cannot thank the trainers enough. Aaron, Isaac, Frank, Kyle, and Amy are INCREDIBLE. But hey, us owners still have to put in the work at home since the trainers aren't always with us! I truly enjoy every single class we've had and how it's also bonded my dog and I closer together. It's such a full circle moment seeing the progress my dog makes day after day. Sit Means Sit is the way to go!!

It felt like the perfect time to update our review since so much has happened since Maui began group training with Sit Means Sit back in August 2024. SMS was the first dog training program we've ever used- and it will absolutely be our last (because we found the best!). Shortly after starting, Maui passed his AKC Canine Good Citizen test and then became a Certified Therapy Dog just weeks later in October. Since then he's been volunteering at airports, schools, hospitals, colleges, libraries, and more- volunteering and spreading love and comfort everywhere he goes. We're so proud of Maui and so grateful to SMS for being a huge part of his success. The team is knowledgeable, supportive, and passionate about helping dogs thrive and becoming the best version of themself. Thank you for everything SMS and for helping Maui crush his long-term doggy goals!

Sitting so pretty in her place:)

What can I say, this program is amazing! We took our 18 month old yellow lab for the free orientation and consult and was sold by the people and amazing presentation of what could be done with our dog. We signed up for a three day over three week training class of about 8 hours per day and have been blown away by the results. She knows to heel and sit better than any dog on the block. She goes to her "place" until released, something we have never been able to do with any of our dogs. Door control and not having her rush the door and people has been a god send. My kids can even walk her on a walk around the block with ease and zero pulling. This program could not have come at a better time in our lives. Thank you so much for the gift of a trained dog. They are the most kind caring trainers ever, they make sure the dogs are happy while learning. I am really happy that I found them to train my pugs. They are always happy to learn and go to their group training.

Sit mean sit is really good to train your dog. They're excellent trainers and take in the needs of your dog before giving them the training they need. Little bear bear here was very reactive towards others dogs but now is on his way to becoming a good citizen!

Baby Dude the pit bull loofah. (Rubber ducky and bubbles not visible in photo lol).

Great event today at Finkbiner Park Glendora for the members of Sit Means Sit! So amazing to see so many well trained dogs show their skills; recall to owner, agility course, and general great behavior in a crowd. Absolute cuteness overload and everyone got along from the tiniest pugs Legatha and Freya to giant doodle Maui and floofiest Thelma and Aussie Stryker. Some of these pups are so well trained with such dedicated owners that they go on to become therapy dogs - I have met several of them at City of Hope. My friend Baby Dude won best costume as a loofah! I wish my two dogs could have joined the party, but they are not at all polite around other doggies. Possible new clients of Sit Means Sit!

Honest review. I have to say that I was sceptical about using an e-collar and also about how much a dog could truly be trained here at sit means sit. However, my scepticism no longer exists. From the moment we showed up sit means sit had nothing but patience and kindness. We voiced our worries about an e-collar and the strategies and they took their time to explain everything to us very thoughtfully. Our dog Addy was rescued from a shelter and we got her at about 4 months. We did 1 puppy class and 3 all day classes with sit means sit. In addition, they allow you to attend group classes for up to a year I believe. I will say, I went to a couple group classes and realized I didn't need them because my dog was so good. lol No lying!! I did not want a "show dog" and I did not care for my dog to do any extensive tricks. I just wanted the basics to be very good. I got exactly what I wanted. My dog Addy comes back to me on command without hesitation. Even when there are distractions like other dogs, people, or squirrels, etc... She sits at my side for as long as I need her to. On walks she will not leave my side unless I allow her to "break" and have free time. I run with her for 3-6 miles and she will stay by my side. Oh yea all of this is off leash. If I ask her to place, let's say on a park bench, she will stay there until I allow her to break from her position. We go on hikes and walks and I have zero worries. To the people concerned about an e-collar. Here is what I can tell you. Our dog is super happy and loving. I know she didn't get treated badly because when we show up to sit means sit she goes crazy and gets excited and wants to run up to the trainers. In addition, She has zero aggression and is so kind. Dogs have been aggressive towards her and she never reacts. She has so much love and confidence. The e-collar allows Addy to live her best life. She gets to run free and be a dog because I know that she is safe and I can have her come back and listen to me on command. I don't fear her running in the streets or getting hurt because I can bring her back to me when danger is present. When we get our next dog we will 100% bring them to sit means sit. I never knew my relationship could be so amazing with my dog. She trusts me and I trust her in a way that I never experienced before coming to sit means sit. Their strategies work.

Our pup Maverick is still a work in progress but we are so excited to see him grow and improve. We are taking him on vacation with us this weekend to Solvang. Something we have wanted to do for a long while and know we have the tools to avoid his reactions to dogs! Excited to finally be able to enjoy him in public as well as take him on adventures stress free! Of the course the training is still going to continue, but we are so pleased with the results this far. The trainers are nothing but helpful and kind and have helped us ease so much stress! Even when we needed the extra help they are willing to go the extra mile. Our dog is a rescue and he is a high energy dog who needed a little push. We are pleased with our investment. We wanted to show our gratitude to Sit Means Sit! Thank you!!

Sit Means Sit is Spectacular!!! Got our first dog as a married couple and wanted a strong foundation for our dog's training. They are extremely hands on and work specifically towards you and your dog's needs. All of the trainers are skilled and knowledgeable. When it comes time for a new dog, we will definitely going to Sit means Sit!

We were at a loss as to the best way to train our headstrong alpha dog. Sit Means Sit has given us clear guidance and instruction and through them we are seeing our boy improving his behaviors every day. It takes work and commitment, but the staff is amazing and will go the extra mile with you to see you successful. Thank you SMS!

We have a great dog. He is affectionate, smart, has behaved exceptionally at AKC dog shows and is even a Grand Champion. But, he absolutely loses his mind on walks when he sees other dogs, big or small, it doesn't matter. Sometimes he goes nuts when he sees other people. He will spin up and scratch the heck out of my arms and just can't hold a proper heal. I finally came to the end of my rope and said, I just can't walk him anymore." We'd done some research on dog trainers and took him to Sit means Sit in Glendora. After 3 weeks our dog has done a 180 turn. He's attentive and pleasure to walk, heals properly, does not react to dogs or people. And, he doesn't go nutso at the sound of the doorbell. The staff at Sit Means Sit are fun to work with, personalize their training and make sure we can perform the training skills, and offer fun follow up training opportunities. I wish we had done this earlier.

This is Pepper. High energy puppy.
Karen G.

Sit means sit, has been great for Pepper, I was one of those that was skeptical about using the e-collar. All the trainers show you how to train and practice using the e-collars correctly. The cost could be a little pricey for some people but it's well worth the investment. Pepper is a high energy dog and I don't think I would be able to manage her on my own. She is coming along as I put in the work. On my part it's definitely a commitment as the trainers teach me too. Thank you all of you the whole staff.

My fiancé and I were looking for training for our 10 month old pup and I seen their facility across his groomers. I got a consultation with Amy told her our wants and needs, and got straight to work. Casper would tug on walks , do a few commands, very stubborn would consume anything he can get into . fast forward about two months into his training I can honestly say he's made so much improvement! His trainers are so helpful and attentive which is very helpful for us. Group classes are so fun for us I look forward to them every Saturday. Before his training we couldn't go on walks and today Casper and I walk side by side with eye contact on a loose leash. I'm very impressed! Thank you SITMEANSSIT!

When we started looking for a training program for Ruby last year, she was very dependent, anxious around other dogs, and struggled with listening to commands. Through a friend, we heard about Pack Pawsitive and were impressed with what was being taught here. When we were first introduced to the trainer Harmony, she was very kind and attentive and we knew she would make a difference in Ruby's learning experience. We loved reading through Ruby's report card at the end of each day and seeing what new things she learned! One of the best parts of Pack Pawsitive's programs is the digital resource library where we can refer to handouts and videos that throughly explained how we can continue to train Ruby at home. The in-person training sessions were also especially helpful, and Harmony was very insightful towards our questions and concerns. Seeing Ruby's growth week to week has been extremely rewarding and couldn't have been done without Harmony and the trainers at Pack Pawsitive. Ruby has become much more confident and focused, and has improved so much with socializing with other dogs. She learned new cues like recall, place, leave it, leash manners, and door manners which has made a great difference in our daily routines. With Ruby's newfound skills, we feel much more comfortable introducing her to new environments. Thank you to the team at Pack Pawsitive for providing a safe, caring, and of course positive learning environment for our pup! Deku has been through a previous board and train, but I feel like that board and train mainly tackled his obedience, not his behavior issues. He also made me write down goals for Deku so that he can focus on them and make sure he tackled through them. I boarded Deku with Ian for 3 weeks and Ian made sure to send over progress pictures/videos every single day! I appreciated the content of Deku because that is basically my baby lol. There was a mid session where Ian taught me how to properly use the ecollar and showcasing what Deku has been up to the time he was with Ian. Deku was pretty much a different dog by the mid session, so it excited me to have him back after the 3rd week. The day I got Deku back, Ian showed me all of the progress and work Deku did and he was completely different. Deku stopped reacting towards people/other dogs and he was very obedient with following all commands! It's been almost a week now and Ian has checked in on Deku while he's been at home for the week and I also have follow-up sessions included in my service! I have been so happy with Deku is at! Before, I would be too scared to bring Deku out in public due to his reactivity/behavior, but I truly believe he is a completely different dog now, for the better! Overall, I would HIGHLY recommend Ian to EVERYONE. He is the real deal. I do feel like Ian knows how to connect with these dogs and emphasizes about how important relationships + communicating with your dog. Ian id the BEST!

From the very first phone conversation with Justine, she told us about a dog's personality (the who) vs. a dog's behavior (the why). After the initial phone call then came the in person assessment in our home, Justine knew our dog's personality was sweet and loving to us; however, due to her being a rescue, her past experiences led to trauma that led to aggressive behaviors towards others in certain situations. Moreover, during that first assessment, she educated us things we had no idea about or thought about with dogs as pets plus what we need to be and do as owners. He had been in a slow decline that suddenly turned rapid, and I knew we were at the end. What stood out most was the veterinarian's honesty. They checked his vitals, but we didn't pursue extensive diagnostics. Instead, he spoke candidly about what he was seeing--neurologically, Baxter was not himself and had clearly lost significant muscle mass. At his age, there was likely more going on than one treatable issue. The veterinarian could have easily recommended a long list of tests. Instead, he gave me real guidance. When I asked what he would do if it were his own dog, he told me he would choose euthanasia at this stage, explaining that "a day or a week too early is better than a day too late" to avoid unnecessary suffering. I had been struggling with this decision for a while, and that honesty helped me feel confident I was doing the right thing. It meant everything. Once I made the decision, the compassion from the staff was incredible. They handled everything with such care, dignity, and kindness. I've also been here before when Baxter was first diagnosed with heart failure, and had the same experience. The veterinarian literally told me it wasn't an emergency and that I could either proceed with treatment there or follow up with my regular vet the next day and save the cost of emergency care. That level of transparency really stuck with me. I'm truly grateful for this team and this office. If you're ever in a difficult situation with your pet, this is a place where you'll receive honest, compassionate care--not pressure to run unnecessary tests or take advantage of a vulnerable moment.
