Fantastic; I ordered the "Meaty Omelette", the wife ordered "French Toast w/ Sausage" it was wonderful and we will definitely return. Horrible; only let down was the getting a seat, took our name and said wait by the bathroom and it took 10 minutes with seats available...customers told us to just sit down and we did. Solid breakfast food. Large portions. I didn't get the pancakes but they are ginormous! Limited staff, but the staff there worked their butts off and made sure to keep tables open for incoming customers. They are very friendly as well. Diner coffee cups, red soda cups with worn, faded Coca Cola script, feather-dusted antiques, and black and white photos of days gone by were our first indication that we were in a "good place." The friendly staff, attentive servers and the comfortable conversation throughout The Diner reinforced that. Our only dilemma was what to order. Plates of fish sandwiches, burgers, omelets, and fried chicken tempted our palettes. We ended up with the Dogtown burgers, french fries, coffee and iced tea for 20 bucks and some change. The food was brought out quick and piping hot. We were not disappointed! We are adding The Diner to our list of "spots to stop" on our way up North. Best breakfast. My husband and I go to Soaring Eagle on a regular and we decided to venture out into the local area in search of a good breakfast. Let me tell you that we found it at THE DINER!!! service was wonderful and fast and tho we obviously were not locals we were still treated very nicely by the staff and the Regulars. Now we did try to go there on a holiday or Sunday I can't recall which but they closed early. Sadly for us but I love tradition and observation Sundays and holidays. Great food and really nice people. The biscuits and gravy was excellent! There was a new cook the day we stopped in so the service was very slow. We didn't have a time problem so not a big deal for us. Our server brought us our breakfast and let us know that it was free due to the wait. Great small diner. Not a ton of seating, but it's a cute place. My brother graduated from CMU yesterday and likes this place a lot, so we went. We are all breakfast people and really enjoyed eating here. We had 5 people and were seated almost instantly. There's not much space to wait, and luckily the one big table opened up right before we got there. It was the only table open as every other table was full which I take as a good sign. All of the other tables and booths are small for about 4 maybe 5 people. There is a counter with a few seats also. A waitress came immediately and served coffee. We ordered food shortly after and were served our food so quickly. Probably 15 minutes for all of our meals when the place was packed. I ordered the country skillet with over easy eggs, which is really just a biscuit and gravy skillet. It was huge! But really good. My dad got the southern hash browns and cleaned his plate. Others got the country fried steak and the French toast. My mom ordered lunch and had a turkey cranberry salad. She said it was really good and fresh. The turkey on the salad looked really nice, assuming it's the same turkey they use for the turkey dinner. Everyone loved their meal, this place is a perfect classic diner. Prices are also cheap and all the staff was super friendly. The staff seemed to really enjoy being there, it seems like a family run restaurant. Nothing bad to say. read more

This place didn't follow social distancing guidelines and hung shower curtains between tables instead of spacing tables out. The servers also didn't wear masks and neither did the cooks, so i didn't feel comfortable eating the food. read more

We had the pleasure of eating at The Diner during a girls weekend, and it did not disappoint! I had done some Yelp research, looking for a place that would not be too hard on the wallet, but would be yummy. We also needed to please two picky teenagers, a vegetarian, and we were on a tight schedule! Those demands were met and exceeded at The Diner! It is a quaint restaurant with a hometown feel that chain restaurants do not give. The food was good, and the plates were very generous. The mashed potatoes are real, and really delicious. The fish fry was great, and definitely enough to share! The service was excellent, our waitress was very helpful and friendly. This place is not quite on the main strip, which can be a good thing for those that want to keep it their personal secret! But for us Yelpers who know a good thing when we see it, we share!
