This place has bumped up from my last review. Some familiar faces for wait staff and some new faces. Sounds from the kitchen are friendly and interactive like they get along and work well together. A positive energy, improved management perhaps? Food got out quickly and as good as expected. Also nice to see a lot of effort put into holiday decor. Pride in their work place I'm guessing. Every single time i come here I get the worst service and it is so upsetting! Today our waitress, Jaylyn, literally rolled her eyes and was visibly upset over what we ordered. She was so mad I asked, "is that okay?" at the end of my order to which she replied, "mhm" very rudely. I understand having a bad day at work but she was visibly angry with every single customer. Wow, what an experience. Our food came out cold and hard, service was incredibly rude, slow, and unpleasant. Waitress had an unbelievable attitude for our entire visit. I mistakenly only brought a little cash in with me thinking IHOP wouldnt be more than $20. Well it was. I put what cash I had on the table and started heading to my car to get more money to cover what I still owed for breakfast. I made it 2 steps out the front door before our nasty waitress chased us into the parking lot SCREAMING about the change I still owed. Needless to say, I won't be returning to this location. Do not, I repeat, DO NOT use the restroom. A porta potty in Lollapalooza after the 3rd night (if it wasn't cleaned the whole event) is cleaner than their restrooms. Cleary an issue with management. The food took so long to come out and it was cold. Like taken out of the freezer and popped in the microwave for 2 mins too short cold. Waitress was inattentive. Greeter was not friendly at all, nearly left immediately. They were not enforcing social distancing or masks. Granted they made us stand outside while we waited for a table, so I suppose they did do something. Lol Had all of the distance markings on the floor, but blocked one of the front doors with a hand sanitizer station so everyone was funneled to the same space. I immediately returned my entire order to get a refund. The manager lied when he said my refund would go faster through their computer & I did not have to wait for a receipt. I am actually pleasantly surprised with this experience. After reading the previous reviews, I was sure we would be disappointed! I'm not sure what changes have been made but whatever it was it has made a difference. After we got sat down, we were informed that we would have a trainee server. She did an excellent job and I'm a bit disappointed that she will likely not benefit from the tip that she earned. We expressed the importance of making sure that no pork was served to our table. Instead we were able to order all turkey replacements which I whole heartedly appreciate, and wish more restaurants would offer this option. I though for sure the kitchen would mess this up out of sheer habit. To my surprise our orders came out EXACTLY as requested. The food was very good, my only complaint is that my eggs were coddled. If you follow me, you know how much I hate coddled eggs!! Ewww!! Eggs are NOT supposed to be brown and crunchy, anywhere!! The rest of it was very good! Overall though we had a great experience and would definitely return. I would actually dare to say it's the best IHOP experience I've had to date. We have had mixed experiences from this location. Dine in is better than takeout. Three stars, at best. Our young child loves the kid pancakes so we go for her sake once in a while. We were happy to find gluten feee pancakes on the menu for my wife, so took a chance on take out today. When we arrived home, there was no indication of which pancakes were regular vs gluten free, our daughter's side of eggs was only slightly larger than a fork, there were none of the whip cream or sprinkles on the kid cakes, no blueberries in either pancakes as requested, and everything was lukewarm despite me being there when it came off the grill. Very disappointing. Couldn't risk eating cakes not knowing whether gf or not. Manager thankfully refunded entire meal. Also, never received updates of order status despite having notifications turned on on phone. read more

When I first came to Mount Pleasant back in 2017, this iHop has changed my view on all locations. It was clean, fast, and reliable with good food. Around this time now the manager is a hit or miss, and so is the food. The pancakes have gotten smaller, and things don't look as good as they used to. If I wanted a quick breakfast, I'm not sure if I would choose this iHop. read more

One star is such a stretch for our meal today. I get the place was packed, but there is no excuse for coffee grounds in the coffee or food that takes 45 minutes to come out, and it's cold. I'm not even sure it was heat lamp warm. We were a table of 5, our waitress did a decent job; she can only control so much. She gave us the time we needed, and brought water in plastic cups, because she told us; they were out of glasses. My meal was bland, cold, and unimpressive. Stopped on our way home to Traverse City. Restrooms were HORRIBLE. Looked they hadn't been cleaned in a week or more. Toilet paper all over the floor along with personal paper wrappers. Sinks filthy. We waited 1 hour for our meal, only to have server come back to table and tell us, "the printer in the kitchen ran out of paper" so he had to write down our order and place it again. Then we had to "ask" for silverware. When server comes back and tells us they will comp, our drinks, of which one person only had water, I was truly amazed. So much humor..... After ordering our food, it took 50 minutes to get said food. When it finally came out, it was freezing cold. Alright, let me start it out. This review is to help critique this place. So I'll start by our waitstaff. I understand places being busy, and having to wait tables. It's hard, and you sometimes don't want to do it. Understandable. What isn't, is having another waitress take over your tables because you are nowhere to be found. The food was okay. Wasn't breathtaking, it was pretty simple...for my daughter at least. I ordered her Mac and cheese, came out cold. I ordered a salmon dinner with broccoli and green beans. I had worked up quite an appetite after a long day. But then, as I cut into my salmon. It was completely RAW in the middle. I waited about a good fifteen minutes to tell our waitress who was nowhere to be found. So in the end, I ended up telling the hostess. She ended up putting in a new order for us. Waited another good round, second salmon. This one was only raw a little bit in the middle. Now this is where I finally add a little more information. I am pregnant. As a pregnant woman, no raw fish. So I ended up not eating it all. They took it off our bill, which I appreciate. Hence why this review is at least two stars. But by the time I got my food, everyone else was done with theirs. If I could give this restaurant zero stars I would. I've been to a lot of towns and a lot of different restaurants in my lifetime and have never experienced issues like I did at this particular IHOP. After a concert at Soaring Eagle, my family and I ventured to get food around 11pm. This town is a tourist town with the casino right down the road and very few restaurants available. Our choice of food was few and far between. Usually can't go wrong with an IHOP! We were told it would be a 45 minute wait for four of us and we decided the best option would be to place a carry out instead. What a freaking joke. We were all ready to order but the host and hostess couldn't take our order because they aren't allowed to. Their only job they have is to seat people. So the hostess went to find a waitress. She said this happens nearly everyday any time of the day. We waited over 35 min to place a carry out, meanwhile we had our name on the list just in case that was faster. A party that came in after us was seated before us. The host said I thought you guys were gonna get a carry out so I took your name off the list. He said he could give us the next table. The fact that we waited 35 minutes just to order a carry out was ridiculous. Never seen any wait staff and nobody could help us. Never seen any food brought out from the kitchen. We left and never got food from there after waiting to place an order. This IHOP makes all the rest look terrible. Never again. Best part was there was a sign about calling ahead for food. We tried that to see if that would work. Phone just rang and rang while the host and hostess stood there and then finally picked it up and hung the phone up. read more

Me and my mom were very hungry so we just went inside to see and we liked the description of the meals to have dinner. I had a tilapia that had no taste whatsoever.. My mom had a chicken salad that was nothing much. However, the service is very good and I think IHop is more of a breakfast place, so maybe that is why mu experience wasn't so good. read more

WITNESSED DRUG USE BY EMPLOYEES!!! Took my family for a late breakfast and sat by a window towards the back of the building where we, including my teenage children witnessed staff pass a joint around and then return to work. This happened twice during our visit! Our waitress seemed extremely annoyed by me asking for a glass of water because she bought only 3 when there was 4 of us. And also when asked for ketchup, she bought two packets covered in syrup and again there were 4 of us at the table. We left last evening because the hostess wouldn't seat us where it is convenient for my 87-year-old handicapped mom. Instead she offered a table in a window alcove with six other people already in the area. Does she know there is a killing virus around? I don't ask for much other than somewhere to sit so mom doesn't have to walk so far, she uses a cane but still needs help. And to not be on top of other customers. The entire front section of booths was empty! It's the second time she has pulled this crap, I threatened to leave the first time but she relented. Yet the young man who works there is accommodating to our needs without us asking. Her shoes don't fit and she doesn't pick up her feet when she walks. Sloppy. You've lost two once-a-week customers.
