Popped in town for a basketball tournament and happened across Pixie's as it was close to the hotel. This place has a real "Pink Cadillac" kind of feel (Elvis sitting in a booth, Marilyn Monroe, old school photos and clippings). The aesthetic is really cool! We wound up getting the coney dogs with all the works and fries. The hot dogs were okay, but their fries are REALLY really good. The customer service was on point. Been going to the Pixie since it was a walk-up place, before the inside seating and drive-thru. Over the years Pixie was a Fun place with quirky cool ambiance and decorations. The food was always hot, fresh, and good. Portions were always nice size also. The service was once top notch and friendly... BUT......today. Todays' experience is shameful. The portions and sizes have reduced and the prices have increased (Bidenomics?!?). The place is not kept as clean and neat as it used to be and the staff seem like they are shorthanded and not personable anymore. The food is not what it used to be just a few years ago. The quality has cheapened so much. I was told LaBelles sold this place and if that it true the heritage of the Pixie is going away. My family has gone to Pixie ever since I could remember, and every single time we've gone I've gotten a chicken ranch grinder. If I ever went on death row, a Pixie chicken ranch grinder would be my final meal of choice with absolutely no hesitation. This restaurant has a really adorable 50's atmosphere and the service we received was amazing! I would come back for those reasons for sure. I wasn't all that impressed by the food though. It was served piping hot, and the portions were really big. I just didn't think there was much flavor in the grilled chicken sandwich, and the twisted fries leave a weird "thick" aftertaste. The root beer float tasted good but there were little waxy chunks of unblended soft serve. When we went today the restaurant was so hot inside, it felt there was no air conditioning in spite of the 90+ degree weather! We were so hot and sticky so next time would probably do the drive through instead. I wasn't blown away by this place but would still go back and try other things. The funnel sticks, pizza, and mozzarella sticks look really good! The menu selection is really big and it did have a charming atmosphere with great customer service. If you like over priced mediocre food, bad service, this is the place to be. I went there because of the 4 star review and not reading the bad reviews. The over priced coney dogs were awful! Terrible Terrible and more terrible. This place went down town and never came back. They used to be a college kids go to and the wall of fame was your claim to fame. They really have fallen on cheap times. The burgers are terrible now. I don't know where they buy their burgers from but please stop and switch back to the ones you used to serve. I know that people would gladly pay more for better burgers and the chance to actually enjoy what they eat to get on the wall of fame. The other terrible thing is your chilli sauce, it's just plain wrong now. What happened to it? It used to actually have burger in it but now it's like ground up bits of burger and tomato sauce. Save you time and money. I can't believe I am saying this but please avoid this place like the plague. They need to quit making terrible food and stop claiming that they are an established college go to like meow. read more

Service is fast. The diner feel is authentic and their menu is concise but still has a wide range of items. Their sliders are delicious and so are their chicken nuggets. It great hangover food but there's usually a decent amount of children whenever I've gone - so probably a cheap place for kids. read more

This place is still where its at. I have been gone from my hometown for just over 20 years and this is still the spot to come back to for lunch. Gotta have: Coney dogs, add cheese, mustard and pickles...this is a must, trust me. Also, get a side of cheese sauce with you fries. That will get you started. They have fried mushrooms and if you get those with ranch...that will get you on your way. If for some reason Im not eating Coney Dogs, I would got with a grinder. Those things are where its at. A throwback to the days of the 1950's in this diner style restaurant flare, their menu is most notable for the mini burgers and coney dogs. Eat enough of either and you could find your name on the wall of fame. The Pixie is no five star restaurant, but it hits the right spot. I'm thinking the drive through is not a good idea. I ordered and had to park and wait for food, which led to my food being soggy and not very good. It might have been better if it didn't sit for so long, but it did. No one wants a cold, soggy cheeseburger. My fries were also undercooked, cold, and limp. Not good. The pizza was also not that good. Equivalent to a frozen pizza. I'm not sure what happened this day. Maybe the drive through or understaffing. Perhaps some implicit biases at work. Poor customer service. Rude staff today. Came in to get food staffs immediate way of greeting me was "did you read the sign" . We'll obviously I missed the sign saying the drive through was only open. Keeping in mind their doors were unlocked. I kindly apologize for not seeing the sign and explained I am in an Ambulance and can't go through your drive through. The staff member seemed frustrated and not willing to help. He offered to ask the manager after I said ok and started to leave , So I simply replied it's okay, I will go somewhere else. I get that for a lot of reviewers, this place has nostalgic value. That's a great thing, and I know I adore some mediocre restaurants in my hometown as well. If you're not part of the nostalgia, this place is ok, not good. The hot dogs are the inferior to any coney dog I've had before. Meat quality is sub par. The hamburgers are done in a White Castle style- small, with a soft bun. I'd like that, but all of the burgers at our table were over cooked and had little beef flavor. Fries were thinner style, and pretty good for frozen. I tried the fried mushrooms. Clearly Sysco with a weak ranch on the side. They were ok, but hard to mess up dropping a Sysco product in the fryer. Service was patient and friendly, and this is obviously a local favorite. Nice folks. Decor is kitschy. Pixie is good, if you're craving that to die for carnival/fair food aspect, it's perfect. On the other hand, the food always has me craving more which I believe that's the problem. The food is so small and you pay quite a bit for what they serve, your total adds up pretty fast because you need so much food to be satisfied. To compare White Castle giving you a 79c Burger vs Pixie for $1.29 , the burgers are almost the same in quality and taste. If I could give 2.5 stars I would, but 3 would be pushing it. read more

Do not be lead astray by the cutsie name, this place will do a number on ya! The pixie is a glammed up diner. The pink and teal neon light and checkered floor are fun. There are great deals available here, if I'm not mistaken, there are 99cent chili dogs on Tuesdays. The menu as a whole is full-on greasy spoon/coney. Yum. If you'd like to participate in promotional overeating, you can see how many hotdogs/burgers you can eat and have at it. Very fun to watch also...especailly when some drunken frat boy decides to give it a whirl :) There are a zillion names on the wall from previous eons of competition. The Pixie is a Mt.P staple and a must do at least a time or two. :) The staff are great and the drive-thru option is nice in a pinch. read more
