In the past I've enjoyed Domino's thin crust. Pisanello's offers thin and thin crispy, so I ordered the crispy, which was less crispy than Domino's thin. Their cheese tastes okay, but there's not enough of it. Their pepperoni looked different than any I've ever seen--no color variation for flavorful fat; this is solid brown, perhaps healthier, but almost tasteless. Here Today! Buuurp! Excuse me. Ok, after my several very busy days on my tour, I was extremely tired and didn't want to travel too far for my dinner. There were many options within a 5 mile radius so I narrowed down by distance, pizza! Of course, I used my trusty Yelp app and Pisanello's Pizza was Elite Yelpers favorite choice. When it comes to pizzas, ingredients make the cut, not just ingredients FRESH INGREDIENTS is the key! I arrived and I spot the EZ charging station in the parking lot with lots of free parking, which includes lots of free parking. The pizza restaurant sits on a nice touristy neighborhood and well kept area I might add. I immediately notice the menu sign and was amused with the buffet price with water, we the people be on a budget :)) I used the coupons on the front counter to make my order, we the people like coupons and I decided on the medium 3 topping pizza for $13.60 and a side salad. A nice, PATIENT fella took my order and I needed specific information about the salad ingredients, 1 which was the type of tomato's they offer (I don't like cherry tomatoes). I took a seat at a booth that was just wiped which again was a plus, that says a lot because small restaurants seem neglect cleanness. I look at my receipt when my order arrived a very short time later and I noticed I wasn't charged the coupon price. I asked the lady which I later identified as Courtney the manager, I inquired about the price difference and she explained thin crispy was xtra. Ok, np I said but it would be nice for the fella to mention that up front especially since you have a chalkboard with the buffet price with water. As I'm walking out wanting to hurry back to my hotel to eat my pizza nice and hot, something came to mind "They will refund the pizza if I'm not satisfied ". So, I go back in to discuss. Me: Courtney, if I don't like my pizza you'll refund the pizza CORRECT? Courtney: Yes Me: Well, I think that I should get the up charge refunded for the crisp crust..don't you agree? Courtney: (With a smile) Yeah, you're right. Instead of Courtney refunding me the up charge for the pizza, she refunded me the price for the ENTIRE pizza. THAT'S what I'm talking about!! An honest business!! Customer satisfaction!! The pizza was DA BOMB, fruuuush ingredients, the salad was FRUSH( not fresh FRUSH) crispy crunchy lettuce, they took their time and diced my tomatoes and added shredded cheese. Luvit luvit luuuvit!! We paid for our pizza and sat down and was having a decent time. Then the manager and the girl in the back wearing Crocs and sweatpants told us we were supposed to leave a tip. It was very unprofessional and made us all feel uncomfortable. Never had a restaurant do that. Tips for what? Do you have a waiter? Do you refill my cup? This isn't a Hooters. It's a pizza place that's nearly entirely self-serve. We left our table with nothing on it, and the tables around us weren't cleaned the whole time we were sitting there. They kept saying that the owner would yell at them and have to act like this. The owner sounds like a short tempered micromanager. Still no excuse to be rude. I'd quit this penny pinching place or refuse to enforce stupid rules. Used to get this pizza once a week. This place is going way downhill with the new owner and rude girls working there. The pizza was better than Pizza hut They had alot of pizzas on buffet no sausage & mushroom of course. Salad bar was very good; small but good & fresh. I had to order a pizza because they had no sausage & mushroom on pizza bar. Unfortunately the sausage tasted like Little Ceasar's sausage -yuk Drawback was you pay before setting down so we had to sit in entry area to decide what we were doing. Lady at register was very nice and explained how they did things. Hubby had pizza bar & thought it was ok. I like chicken & dumpling soup - he didn't. Having moved to Mt. Pleasant four years ago, I can safely say I've earned an honorary Bachelor's degree in eating pizza in Mt. P at this point and Pisanello's is far and away my family's favorite! The pizza may cost a little more than the chains, but it's worth it. They've become our go-to take out place for family movie night. They also offer a lunch buffet where less than $10 will get you all you care to eat pizza, salad and a drink - which is a great way to sample their different pizzas. Large pizza topped with green peppers,mushrooms,bacon,and pineapple. I was given the option of fresh or canned mushrooms, I chose fresh. I was impressed with the bacon, crumbled and crisp. You know what I mean crispy edges, lol delicious. Honestly I chose pineapple because I walked in and that's what I smelt on the air. So bacon salty and pineapple sweet was on point. Pisanello's is just your typical pizza place in a college town, but a little more over priced than most places in town because it isnt a chain. The pizza itself is pretty good but I usually only ate there when they had the lunch buffet, which really didn't fit into my schedule that often. They will often take longer to deliver to places on campus or to off campus apartments near CMU because they are located downtown, on the complete opposite side of town from most of it's their patrons. read more

They were scheduled to open at 11, so we timed it to be there right as they opened, as we were passing through. The doors were still locked so I called them and they forgot to unlock them. After wen went in, I was going to order a gluten free pizza and my wife the buffet. We were informed that the Buffett is only Monday through Friday, the menu didn't say that. I ordered my pizza and breadsticks for my wife. The food was prepared quickly and made correctly to order. My wife liked the breadsticks and the gluten free pizza was delicious. We helped ourselves to plates, silverware, and boxes. The food was good, but the service wasn't quite up to par, so to speak. I do not think I'll be back, when we pass through for skiing. read more

Good pizza, amazing service. I had a pizza and cheese bread delivered and the pizza was wrong. I immediately called and told them the order wasn't what I had requested and with no hesitation they said they would send a right one out with free breadsticks for the hassle. When I called I was prepared for a fight, I've had this happen with other businesses and it's always been like I was trying to get something for free when all I wanted was my right order. But not this place! They were courteous and professional and left me knowing I will be ordering from them again when we are back up this way. 5 stars for incredible service.
