Bravo, something must've really sunk in or it's under new ownership but this time we ordered a pizza and then the multi variety appetizer. The pizza was absolutely wonderful so different than it was previously. It had a very delicious rich sauce on it not too much just the right amount and the crust was cooked perfectly. The appetizer on the other hand needs a lot of improvement. The chicken wings had a wonderful barbecue sauce. The deep fried pickles were terrible. The coating on them just tasted like it was Old and the coated ravioli was overly cooked to the point where it was pretty much inedible. The price was pretty steep for everything we got. I think if it had been maybe 5 to 7 dollars cheaper would've been much better but keep up the good work fix those appetizers. read more

Used to love this place. In the last few months the food has been mediocre and the wait time has been unbelievably slow. My experience today was the worst. Ordered a water to start. Never arrived. Reminded the waitress when she walked by that I was still waiting for my water. She apologized. Still nothing. After 30 mins I walked to the bar and ordered my own water. It then took 45 minutes to get my food and the place was not even full. My bbq chicken panini was dry. I ate half. I have said after the last few visits I would not be back. Waited 2 hours for our food because they never put it in. Even after multiple people asked if we needed help and reassured us the order was put in. Mr. Michigan, the manager, was not considerate or helpful and made excuses for not running his restaurant right. They had every opportunity to make it right or compensate us for horrible service and failed. The pizza was decent, the Detroit deep dish was solid, but the bruschetta was disgusting and there was hair in the ranch. Wondering if they spit in our pizza because we complained that it took 2 hours to get food they never put an order in for. Oh yeah we ordered in the restaurant. How do you even mess that up??? Pathetic. A half hearted wait staff. Food was something I wouldn't feed my dog. Old clumped up ground beef couldn't be eaten. Cheese covered the top camouflaging the real disaster. Rigatoni was half broken up, which looked like leftovers. I scooped the noodles in another dish to highlight the strange ground beef. Another party with us ordered the same dish but looked completely different other than the broken up Rigatoni. Cheese on top was obviously a different kind as if they ran out and used two different styles of cheese. The same disaster awaited us below the cheese. Became more of a soup dish of left over ingredients. This dish had no meat obviously put together completely different. This was the second time with similar results. Both of the last two times the manager was holding court in the first booth with outside friends and one or two staff. Almost a sequel visit. Joking and laughing with paperwork spread out everywhere. You do not see this even at McDonalds. I will never, never eat at this badly run business again. If I was able to rate with lower stars I would and be in negative territory. The staff is very friendly, the service is prompt, and the view (outdoor seating) is terrific. Our granddaughters really enjoy being able to vote to the restaurant and dock right in front of it. Despite all the positives, the one thing that should not be a problem is the biggest negative. It's the pizza crust. I'm not sure why they still can't get this right, but the center of every pizza we've ordered has soggy (warm raw) dough. The edge crust, outside bottom crust, and toppings are cooked to perfection. However, the dough near the center of the pizza is always soggy. Maybe soggy isn't the correct word. Maybe "goopy" better describes the dough. We have given CL Pizza nearly a dozen opportunities over the past two years - both in person and through takeout - to get this right, but they simply cannot. It's a shame, because we really try and support local businesses in the CL community, but at the same time, we cannot keep spending money on their namesake product when 1/4 to 1/3 of its bottom crust is inedible. read more

We stopped here with some friends to grab a pizza. We tossed it up in the air which place to go and CL was the choice to try. That was an unfortunate decision. The place is fairly clean and the atmosphere is nice. The issue was the speed of service and the quality of food. The waitress was not rude in any way but only returned to our table very seldomly to check on any needs, changes, or status. The place had two other couples inside with us and we waited for over an hour for our food to arrive. We nearly left without it arriving. The couple behind us also had service issues and was not happy with the speed of the food delivery. When the food did get to our table, it was not very good. The pizza was similar to frozen pizza. I would actually go so far as to say I have had better frozen pizza. I would not recommend coming here for pizza. We didn't try anything else so I can't attest to anything else. They did have a few people waiting to pickup food, which could have been the reason ours was taking so long. Either way, I can't recommend going. If you do, leave plenty of time. read more

The food was so good, the salads where great, the bread sticks where super soft and fluffy with ranch and the pizza was so good. Pizza oven seems too cold, dough not cooked in center of hand tossed & very flat. None of us could eat any of them unfortunately & garbage can won. The service is always great . The floor manager really cares that everyone is well taken care of and goes above and beyond to make up for any issues that can happen on a busy night. We've enjoyed dining in and drinks up at the bar or outside. The bartenders seem to really enjoy their job. The food is always delicious. We love the cheap burger pizza, and the loaded tots. Always more food than what we can eat. My children have gotten the children's sized cheese pizza a few times. It's always way too much cheese for their preference. Hard to cut or even take a bite. So if you don't want a lot of cheese just ask for them to go light on it. The place is located near boating docks and an ice cream/coffee shop. Always clean. read more

Depends on the day, have had great service but most of the time you feel ignored by the staff my pet peeve is when I walk in seat myself and then nobody even looks at you for 15 minutes You have to go to the bar to request service. Taylor was literally the best server I have had anywhere in a very long time. She dealt with our difficult large party wonderfully, she was attentive and super sweet. We specifically said no cheese three times when we ordered the pizza and just vegetables and when we got the pizza, cheese and ranch and things that we did not order were on it. Where do I begin with the problems at this place. It's unfortunate because the location, atmosphere, and the food (if you get it and it's actually what you ordered) are good. A few weeks ago we decided to do takeout. They said the wait would be an hour, when I showed up she said most of our food hadn't been even started being made yet so it would be a little longer. Another customer said to me that they said the same thing to her and she had been waiting an additional 30 minutes still. I gave them my number and said to call me when it's ready. After another hour, 2.5 hours after I ordered, I called to check. She said it's almost done. When I got there she said the margarita pizza still haven't been started, so she just gave us someone else's cheese pizza. They also charged us for a pasta that we never received. The girl working the takeout counter was apologetic and gave us $20 off our next visit. We thought the issue was just it was a holiday weekend, turns out even on a Tuesday when there's 4 tables there's issues. We hesitated to try it again and even having a discount was completely disgusted once again. Our food took an hour. We ordered a deluxe pizza with two extra toppings. The pizza came out with only the two toppings. None of the staff seemed concerned and the "manager" was the worst one of all. We got our bill and had to ask to have the deluxe toppings taken off the bill since they weren't on the pizza. We know every business is short staffed. We are extra patient with restaurants these days, but they seem to be even failing with a full staff, they have plenty of help just standing around. We left our number with the "manager" asking the owners to please call us. They obviously need some feedback. I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone! read more
