We stopped by Texas Roadhouse for a dinner night, looking forward to a great steak and a relaxing meal. The restaurant had a fun, lively atmosphere, and even though it was busy, we were seated in a reasonable amount of time. Our server was friendly, attentive, and kept our drinks refilled throughout the meal. I ordered the steak with mashed potatoes and brown gravy. The mashed potatoes were creamy, smooth, and flavorful, and the gravy paired well with them. Unfortunately, the steak was the biggest disappointment of the evening. I ordered it cooked to my preferred temperature, but it came out noticeably overcooked. Instead of being juicy and tender, it was dry, tough, and lacked the flavor and tenderness I usually expect from Texas Roadhouse. It had a nice sear on the outside, but the inside was much more done than I had requested. The complimentary rolls with the cinnamon butter were still warm, fresh, and absolutely delicious--they're always one of my favorite parts of dining here. Aside from the steak, the overall service and atmosphere made for a pleasant dinner. Overall, it wasn't a terrible experience, but the overcooked steak was disappointing, especially for a restaurant that's known for its steaks. Honestly this was not a successful trip. I ordered the 20 oz bone in cooked to medium. When it was delivered it was super rare. I absolutely hate sending food back but this mofo was still alive. Went it came back it was way over cooked. The waitress was stressed and I know she didnt make it. So I sucked it up.. ended up leaving most of it there. I usually don't leave reviews, but this visit to Texas Roadhouse deserves one. From the moment we sat down, it felt like the basics weren't being handled. We waited for napkins and silverware, which should be on the table before the food even comes out. When they finally brought them, they were dirty. Nothing ruins the mood faster than realizing you've got to ask for clean utensils in a restaurant that's supposed to pride itself on good service. Then came the steak. I specifically ordered medium well, and what showed up on my plate was... I don't even know what it was supposed to be. It wasn't medium well, and it wasn't close. It's frustrating because this place is supposed to be known for their steaks, yet mine came out cooked completely wrong. I shouldn't have to guess what temperature I got when I ordered clearly. The service overall was just "there." Not rude, but definitely not attentive, and when basic things like clean silverware and properly cooked food aren't happening, it doesn't leave a good impression. For the money, I expected way more consistency and care. Honestly, it felt like nobody was paying attention to detail. Truly wished this was better. Went there tonight (8/3/25) for our friend's birthday. It was my first visit. I ordered the Ribeye/Ribs combo, with the Ribeye medium rare. When my meal arrived, the steak was definitely medium. I gave it a try figuring if it was still moist, It's just make it work. It really wasn't, so the server offered to bring me another. I started on the ribs while waiting, and these were also overdone, dry and cooked to the point where you could taste the sauce having burned and crumbling off in black specks. Just as I was giving up on these, my other streak arrived. This time it was under done. I generally like my steak very rare, the one exception being Ribeye, because it has to be done enough to render the fat and connective tissue. I just figured I'd deal with it, I wasn't waiting for a 3rd steak. My wife ordered prime rib, rare. Although it was done fairly rare, it was also dry. I really had high hopes, having hard great things about it. All in all, I'm not likely to go back unless I'm out voted. read more

We arrived at around 6:00 pm. The restaurant was pretty full as we expected. My wife put our name in for seating and called me in. The person at door told my wife that she couldn't sit inside to wait even though there wasn't anyone sitting in the waiting room space. She even blocked the door to try to keep my wife out. Evidently she had told several others the same thing, including an elderly gentleman well in his eighty's and a mother with her baby. When my wife asked to speak with the manager, this lady stood there and laughed about it. The manager told us that all people were welcome to sit in the waiting room space area inside and that forcing people outside was definitely not their policy. But then, we faced another 30-minute wait just to get rolls, and the server wasn't very polite when we asked about them. About 30 minutes later, our main dishes arrived. Given the long wait and the rude service, the food was just okay. The green beans, in particular, were a big letdown - I wouldn't recommend them at all. Christmas Eve... I have to say, this was only our third visit ever to Texas Roadhouse and it left a bit to be desired. It started off with the basket of rolls that were so tough and chewy as to be inedible. Our friend who eats there a lot, threw his back in the basket and asked our waitress to swap them out. The second batch arrived quickly but were exactly the same. He asked once again for some new ones and finally received a lighter color batch that were much better in texture but still tasted a little off to me. So on to the rest of the meal, and our side salads were very good with a fresh, crunchy, blend of lettuce and veggies. DW ordered the 12 oz ribeye cooked medium. It was full of gristle and fat and was more medium rare than medium. The taste was good but the quality was not there. I had the 6 oz filet and rib combo. The filet was perfectly cooked medium rare and was tender and flavorful. The ribs, on the other hand, were way over done - mushy and dry. I ate two of the four and had to stop. Probably the worst ribs I've ever had. Not sure I'll be in a hurry to go back, but if we do, we'll stick with salads or something else. If I want steak, I'll cook it at home. read more

We got to Texas Roadhouse at 4:05 pm and was signed in. We had 25-40 minute wait so we went out to the car to wait. It was 40 minutes later and we did not receive a text and people that pulled in after us we saw going in so we went in and asked. He didn't put the number in correctly so therefore did not have record of us even being there. I told him we gave him the name Randy and said he didn't have it and we had a 45 - 55 minute wait. I said we shouldn't have to wait another hour because we already signed in and it was his fault he did not to it correctly!!! He told me to go to the side and wait for my turn!! I will NEVER step foot in that place again. They really need to have someone competent working in that position. Hands down the best family restaurant in Mount Pleasant. It's a bit on the higher priced end of the spectrum but the service, quality, ambiance and portion sizes will make up for it. I always like the Texas roadhouse restaurants and this one was no exception. This was located in Mount Pleasant a college town and everybody there seemed to be under age 30 except for us!! We had A great waiter, the service was great and the food came out quick and it was delicious. I got the half chicken breast that came with two sides of your own choice and my friend got the Steak kebab and it was served on rice with one extra side dish. They work very hard to maintain a minimum standard and are proud of their products. They are not a 5 star restaurant but are a great option for the average family. Never thought I would complain about too fast of service from a restaurant, but here I am. My Husband and I ordered the blooming onion as a starter. We both ordered a steak and it came with two sides. We both chose the Caesar Salad and I chose the Baked Potato while my husband opted for the Cup of Chilli. A couple minutes after finishing our order my husbands cup of chilli arrived. Then our Caesar Salads a minute later. Wow. That was fast. As we were eating our Salads the Blooming Onion showed up the same time as our steaks and my potato. No one likes a cold steak, so we both started on with our steaks. No complaints here with the steak. Phenomenal! Absolutely delicious. Tender and juicy. Perfection. The presentation on the plate was lacking. A large oval plate made the steak look small. Perhaps if the sides were delivered with the steak it wouldn't have looked so lackluster. After completing the steaks, the blooming onion was cold. Like gross cold. Didn't even have more than 3-4 petals of the dang thing. The potato was now cold as well as the chilli. This could have been avoided if the pacing of the meal was more thought out. read more
