We made a reservation on a Friday night but needed to change the time to later, however the website is not user friendly so called. I spoke with a very friendly young lady who made changes to the reservation for us over the phone. We entered into the restaurant from inside the hotel area of the Soaring Eagle Casino and Resort. The hotel is beautiful and the ambiance at Ruths is a comfortable fine dining. Surprisenly they wern't busy for a Friday evening. Our waiter, Michael, came over shortly after we were seated and brought us a bottle of the 14 Hands cabernet for around $60. We wern't starving so decided to share the wedge salad, had a 8oz petite filet each, and a side of asparagus. The food came out quickly and everything was delicious, however, my steak was very undercooked and had to be sent back on the grill. I asked for medium rare to more on the rare side since I really don't like overcooked steak. It came back out very quickly and was still slightly undercooked but was still very good. The food and service was amazing but their dress policy is not consistent and needs flexibly. Four of us went there for a wedding dinner. I was dressed very well with a dress, cowboy boots and wore a very expensive cowboy hat as part of my outfit. When the hostess seated us, she told me I needed to take my hat off in the dining room. I questioned her and said I wore the the same hat at the same Ruth Chris a few months ago and nothing was said. She said "then they must not have been doing their job". I was upset and offended. The dining room was full of people wearing jean shorts, t shirts, tennis shoes and ball caps but she chose to tell me to take off my hat that was part of my outfit. For one thing, women do not have to take off their hat during the national anthem and my hat and outfit was very upscale compared to others in the restaurant. They obviously do not adhere to their own policy and need to make exceptions where appropriate. read more

We always enjoy the atmosphere at Ruth Chris and were welcomed warmly and seated at the exact time of our reservation. Our server, India, was attentive and very pleasant. We were a party of four and ordered cocktails and for the most part, they were fine. One person ordered chardonnay and received sparkling wine but this was corrected as soon as it was mentioned to the server. One person had the crab cakes which were good and the rest of us ordered the pre fix menu which included a 6 oz. filet with shrimp, salad, a side and a small dessert. This pre fix dinner was $55 two years ago but like anything else that has increased in price, it is now $71. read more

DON'T GO HERE !! I had a 7:30 reservation for 5 people at the Mt. Pleasant casino. We arrived on time, were seated in only a couple minutes, got water and wait staff introductions and greetings and ordered our meals. After about 20 minutes, the waitress came back and told us they had no chicken so some members of our party would need to reorder. About 15 minutes (maybe more) later she came back and told us that they were out of mashed potatoes, so 4 od us would need to order different sides. About 10 minutes later they showed up with our meat, but no sides. The sides finally got to our table after we were all finished eating. We had them take them back because we all wanted to just leave. We were there over 2 hours and only had 1/2 our meals. NEVER AGAIN !! read more

Had Thanksgiving dinner here. I was so disappointed- the turkey was awful. I'm not even sure it was a real turkey. The stuffing was absolutely awful. Food was amazing. Service on the other hand........ not so great. We had to ask for bread instead of it being offered. Waitress didn't check on us while we ate. Only one plate got removed after we were done with it. My bf didn't get his sparkling water for 10 minutes because our waitress forgot. We had to wait 45 minutes to be seated which was fine, but what wasn't fine was that we waited an hour. We went up to the hostess stand and she said tables were being cleaned so another 5-10 minutes. No problem. But when more people got seated we were like what the heck. We went up again and another hostess said we got skipped because we didn't come up when we were called. We were sitting next to the entrance 20 minutes before the 45 minutes were up and we didn't get a phone call or our name called. Not to make this a race thing but we were some of the only black people in there and all the white people around us got the service we didn't. Also I had to ASK for a bag to put my left overs in. I shouldn't have to ask for a bag. The first time we went to Ruth Chris the service was amazing. Did everything this waitress did not. So it was a little bit of a let down. And I don't ever write reviews but this one had to be written. Another thing, the only time that she was quick when coming to our table was when my bf put his card in the check book and the check was ready to be paid. We've been to quite a few Ruth's Chris and have always enjoyed the atmosphere, wonderful service, and the food has always been delicious. The food at Ruth's in Mt. Pleasant was spot on (food would get 5 stars). Hubby's and my steaks were cooked exactly as ordered. Lobster bisque, Caesar salad and the warm bread were great starters. I ordered the filet medallions with shrimp and hubby ordered the larger filet. We also got a side of mushrooms, Brussel sprouts and the lobster mac and cheese....all very good. Unfortunately they were out of bread pudding (odd because they open at 4 and that's when we had reservations and they didn't have any?) So we ordered the cheesecake (we were celebrating our 40th anniversary so our dessert was on the house, thank you) So why three stars (I'd prefer to give them 3.5 but that's not an option here)? They need more training for the staff. You may think I'm being picky but when I spend over $300 on a meal I expect the service to be above par. First off our server, Kevin, did the job how I feel he was trained and maybe more practice for the staff will help (the restaurant has only been opened a month or so). Here's my list of suggestions - which we relayed to the manager: 1) when pouring our wine at the table please wrap a towel around the bottle so the drips don't make a mess on the table. We had several drops of red wine on the tablecloth and I had to wipe my glass before drinking because the wine had run down the outside of my glass (I would have been upset if that dripped onto my dress) 2) please come back around to check the table for bread crumbs and use your handy dandy tool to clean those from the table (Kevin did this at the end of our meal not during) 3) ask me when we are ready to have our main meal prepared. We were in the middle of our salad and soup when our steaks came to the table. So we had to move those aside to make room for the steaks, and remember those plates are HOT so there's no moving them once they are in front of you. It would have been nice to have these two courses timed better. 4) bring us small plates to use because we are sharing our side dishes and need someplace to put those. 5) we ordered coffee with our dessert and while Kevin said they were brewing a fresh pot it shouldn't have taken as long as it did for the coffee to come out. And please check back to see if I need a refill, we had to flag Sara down for more coffee (Sara introduced herself at the beginning of the meal that she would be assisting Kevin, we didn't see her other than at that time and when I asked her for more coffee) 6) find a better place for your serving tray when you are clearing a neighboring table, I don't need to see their scraps of food and dirty dishes right next to me while I'm still eating. As I said you may think I'm being overly picky but spending a good deal of money on dinner I believe I can expect excellent service with those extra touches to make the evening even more special....and enticing me to come back. Will I return? Probably but it may be awhile so I can read other reviews to see how the service is coming along. read more

Order the crab cakes, filet, mashed potatoes and asparagus. Drinks were a mule and the pomegranate martini. The restaurant is nice. Plenty of tables but you don't feel crowded. Our server was busy with a few tables but the assistant brought us water and bread. Our drinks took a while to receive. In fact we got our appetizer before our drinks. Both drinks were food but the martini was strong...not really a complaint thought. Food - crab cakes were fantastic. Asparagus was perfectly cooked and seasoned. Mashed potatoes were like lava. They were so hot that they took forever to cool down, but I'd rather have hot food then cold food. Steaks - flavor was good and cut was good but I ordered mine medium rare and it came out medium well to well. Not a huge issue but it is a steakhouse. I think some of that had to do with the wait for our food My husband and I waited for over an hour and a half before we received our entrees. There was a large party ordering when we sat down...we knew it'd take some time. But 3 groups that came in after us like 15-25 mins after us (2-4 people per group) who also ordered steak received their food and were done before we even got our dinner. Our slip definitely got lost. Which we get it, but just tell us that and maybe bring us some complimentary drinks or something. We did get our app for free and a free dessert because of the wait, but I won't be in a hurry to return here. They are working out the kinks but still having to wait that long with little communication from our server and no acknowledgement from management was a little frustrating. Had Father's Day dinner reservations. Showed up slightly early and was promptly seated. The staff was spot on professional. The service was superb and the food was 5/5 stars. Each member in our party had the filet, each was cooked to perfection. My wife had the shrimp accompaniment and I had the lobster. Both were spot on perfection. An absolutely perfect meal! I would have given 2-Stars, but I want to say right UP FRONT the food, when served, is perfect. That said, it'll be a frustrating journey until it arrives. This is a "wannabe" Ruth's Chris and I can't help but think RC corporate just threw a franchise in this location after receiving a ton of money. We jokingly now call it RC-Jr. The bartenders at this RC, who like their colleagues corporate-wide are the flagship employees of the chain are woefully under-trained and overworked. It takes forever to order anything after you receive your first drink and it's not unusual to hear them openly bitch, gripe and complain. Not an atmosphere conducive to spending money. My food arrived without linen, utensils and condiments. This has happened now on two back-to-back visits. My bill was a mess and I had to chase down the bartender to get it corrected. He was busy handling tables in the DINING ROOM. Please, if I'm paying $65 for a steak I expect RC standards and treatment. This restaurant will not survive. read more

From the walk-in to the walkout. My wife and I are celebrating our 24th anniversary, so I decided on Ruth's Chris Steakhouse for our destination. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the hostess, who was very polite. Arriving to table I quickly noticed that the ambiance was not up to par as our little candlelight was not working, but all others were. Server Elaina was prompt and eager to explain food items but did not ask to refill my drink until we was checking out. (It happens). Not very busy tonight, so I figured quicker turnout. The food was definitely hot. I ordered the cowboy bone in ribeye medium rare and came to me on the rare side. Price gouging at its finest. For what I paid for 2, I could have taken my family of 5 to Texas Roadhouse. My Ceasar salad was wilty because you use the dark green of the romaine. Not one time was we greeted by the management walking around looking important but probably just getting in the way. I have been the RC in Grand Rapids twice but this is the first time at Soaring Eagle. I want to start out by saying I'd give the restaurant a 4.5 rating we booked on line with Open Table without an issue. Upon arrival, we were seated quickly. It was our anniversary, and the table had been decorated with a hand written card from staff and heart confetti on the table. It was really a nice touch! Staff were attentive and professional and the manager also stopped at our table to ensure everything was to our satisfaction. It's been a while since I have been to an RC and they now offer a prix fixe menu which is awesome as my hubby and I don't necessarily have the same tastes. The "classic" menu offers an appetizer, side and main dish with dessert. We both ordered that- my husband had the Cesar salad (it was huge!) the shrimp and steak with garlic mashed potatoes while I had the lobster bisque, lobster and steak with creamed spinach. The lobster bisque was not as I remembered it and I wouldn't order it again- the flavor was odd to me - but the lobster and steak were cooked perfectly and delicious. I was not a fan of the creamed spinach either, but I also make that at home and I just may be biased. The potatoes were true mashed with garlic and lots of butter and were excellent. The dessert was a shared cheesecake, New York style, with fresh fruit and chocolate saying happy anniversary. The innards were delicious, while the graham cracker crust was a little too thick. The ambience could use some work- it's pretty basic and doesn't feel warm, like the GR location. I would definitely return but would try different items. It was a delicious experience :) read more
