My experience at flat river saloon was quite interesting to say the least. The set the scene, my friends and I were visiting the area in hopes of a relaxing lake house experience and we loved the area up until our experience here. There weren't many dine in places so we decided to check it out and upon entering the establishment we were greeted by intimidating glances. We were contemplating leaving at this point. However, we were to far in that we decided to sit down. Our server was the highlight of our night, in a negative way. She was very mean and was blatantly disrespectful. It was one of those moments where you contemplate tipping the server, nonetheless we are good people and tipped either way. She did not deserve it though, may I say. She ignored us multiple times, eavesdropped in our conversations, gave us attitude, and overall made the experience horrible. As for the food, it was very greasy and had was not handled with care. A medicore meal. The only good thing about this experience was the cheap drinks!! One of the tables next to us actually bought my friends and I a round of shots, and for that I rate the flat river saloon 2 stars.

My Mom loves coming to this local hole in the wall. The food is decent and the prices are great. Last time we were here the place was really busy because they had $1 drafts.

This is suppose to be a medium rare piece of Prime Rib that I picked up for myself on Mother's Day. Disappointed

Mothers Day special 2022 was Prime Rib. I called them for a take-out order of the Prime rib and their usual Sunday special is broasted wings. I ask for Med. Rare on my Prime rib and it was barely pink on the inside. While I was in the saloon picking up the order I ask for horsey-sauce and the main server told the new server, who was waiting on me that "we don't mix that up for the customer." The cottage cheese was warm and it wasn't put in with any of the warm food. They we're handing out a red rose for the mom customers however, she never offered me one. The saloon was not busy at all but the atmosphere and the service seemed very cold and inexperienced. Needless to say it wasn't a good experience for me on Mother's Day.

Drove to Six Lakes to have wings at 6:30pm and the bar was closed. Internet says open until 9pm on Sundays.

Surprisingly Delicious and Packed with Veggies…read more I've been driving past this place since it opened over a year ago, assuming pasties would be heavy, greasy pockets of hamburger and gravy wrapped in pastry. Definitely not my thing--or so I thought. Yesterday, I saw a photo online of cookies for sale inside, so I decided to finally stop in. Turns out, they don't sell cookies anymore. But since I was already there, I figured I'd give one of the pasties a try. I went with the jalapeño cheddar sausage pasty. They had a few hot options ready to go, mostly the traditional hamburger-and-gravy style, but most of their pasties are sold frozen. You take them home and bake or reheat them in your own oven for about an hour. When mine was done, it looked great--light, golden pastry and generously stuffed. The first bite was a pleasant surprise. The crust was flaky and delicious, and inside was a hearty mix of potatoes, carrots, rutabaga, and other root vegetables, along with just enough sausage to add flavor without being overpowering. It actually felt pretty healthy--and it tasted fantastic. I'm really glad I gave it a shot, and I'll definitely be going back.

A pretty good overall experience, perhaps a few things could be improved for next time…read more I was pleased with the quality of our appetizer, as well as the creativity. We went with a fried goat chase appetizer, which I've never had before, and never even seen on another menu before. The cook clearly enjoys using balsamic glaze as this was used on both the appetizer and later on my entrée as well. Balsamic glaze is certainly delicious, but I'm not sure if it goes well on quite as many things as the cook seems to think it does. My entrée was a dish of mushroom ravioli prepared in a purée made with green peas. I noted that the chef used a variety of spices in preparing the purée, to very good effect. My wife ordered the New York strip, and what was brought out looked very good. We both had cocktails, and in both cases the cocktails or well-made. I ordered a Mojito type drink made with tequila. My wife ordered a strawberry Mamosa. I noted the care that was taken in preparing both drinks which tells me there's a professional bartender on staff. About the only thing that needs to be improved is the service. We waited just a bit too long for certain aspects of the meal in a restaurant that was nearly empty. The server was certainly polite and well mannered, but I think he was the only one working that evening. Perhaps on weekends they're better staffed?

It t was perfect since we didn't have to wait at all for our table but the place was busy; lots of people were excited to be there. We ordered our drinks and the beet and goat salad to split as an appetizer. It was delicious and huge with loads of goat cheese and tasty pickled beets and zesty arugula. For our meal, I ordered the Pork Schnitzel with squash and zucchini and my wife got the whitefish that was one of the specials. The schnitzel had an incredible mushroom sauce and was cooked perfectly with the right balance of crispy and tender. We had a great time and plan to make the drive there regularly! It's great for a date night or a group or family meal!
