First of all...our first time here. We were in town for a show. You definitely need to be aware they stop serving breakfast at 11 am. Period. We were disappointed because we came for Sunday breakfast at 11:30. Got over that quickly. I think we also came on an off day. I however would love to acknowledge the 2nd waitress that took care of us. I didn't get her name. Dark hair and had braces on. She was completely outstanding w our concerns. I don't know if she is owner or what. But you all are a better restaurant because of this lady. If establishment is reading this. Please thank her again from the out of town couple she waited on and helped for 2nd leg of our visit. read more

Five stars for atmosphere and service. Three stars for food. I settled on a four star rating. The house and patio are really charming and the whole atmosphere is just lovely. You can enjoy the gift shop while you are waiting for your food order. I had the tuna salad and the pea soup. It was some of the saltiest restaurant food I have ever had. The soup was almost inedible from the salt level. The homemade pies looked delicious, but we passed on dessert. read more

While attending the Michigan Special Olympics this weekend, we stopped in for lunch at the Herrick House because of all the great comments on Yelp. Totally right! We snagged a table on the outside deck. Our waitress was immediately there to get our drink order and then lunch choices. My husband went with the salmon BLT and I had their special: garden fresh turkey panini. Absolutely delicious. Fresh cucumbers, spinach and red onion on my sliced deli turkey with a scrumptious custom mayo. After lunch we couldn't resist a slice of blackberry pie - crust was excellent and the flavor was so good. We'll definitely be back. read more

My boyfriend and I were in town and wanted to grab a bit to eat, so we stopped in at the Herrick House and were delighted at how cute the place was and especially how delicious our lunch tasted! We ordered the salmon melt and the salmon b.l.t. and both were fantastic! The service was pleasant and the environment was quaint and beautifully decorated. An ever-changing menu of interesting sandwiches and soups utilizing fresh ingredients, decadent baked goods, in a cozy, bright atmosphere with friendly service. In the summer you can also enjoy outdoor dining in their pleasant, nicely landscaped patio area. If you're traveling through Clare, venture a block away from the main drag and enjoy a great meal here! It's really several notches above the usual small-town eating experience. Stopped here on our drive home from Traverse City and we will make it a must-stop! I had the quiche of the day with a scone and the most delicious lemon curd.
