We attended dinner on a Tuesday night about 6:30. The restaurant did fill up which is a testament to its quality. The clientele was a mix couples, groups and families. Service was a bit slower than I expected but not objectionable. I had chicken pad Thai and was very pleased to see generous peanuts. Husband enjoyed the pineapple fried rice. The last time I had Thai food this delicious and authentic was in Thailand! WOW, what a hidden gem. We ordered a number of items for take out, and, even with a 20 minute drive, all of our items were piping hot when we enjoyed them. The Pad Thai was heaven - it was such a blend of a wonderful flavors with absolutely no grease. I've had so many Pad Thai orders from other places where the noodles are swimming in oil, but not here!! The portion was also big enough to share, or large enough for two meals. We also ordered the yellow curry and green curry, and both were flavorful with just a little kick. Ruk Thai Kitchen gives you the option to choose your level of heat, from 1-4, so, if you're averse to super spicy food, definitely ask for no spice or level 1 at the most. The veggie green curry had an awesome assortment of fresh vegetables all perfectly cooked, and, again, this was large enough to share or to serve for two meals. They give you the option to pair the curries with white or fried rice - choose the fried rice! It may be the best fried rice I've ever had! Super clean, not oily/greasy, and SO flavorful. I wish I lived closer so I could order from Ruk Thai all the time! This is a small family owned restaurant, and their passion for high quality food and customer service comes through in all that they do. It was easy to place our order over the phone and all of our items were perfectly packed and ready to go when we arrived for pick up. You can choose the level of spices in your food The restaurant is very clean and neat. The chef is a Thai woman who is very talented. The service is very good and the owner will come and explain everything in the menu to you. We ordered pad thai and sweet and sour chicken with fried rice. I came here for the first time while running an errand in town. The food was so good! The rangoons tasted so good, especially with the dipping sauce. Shrimp pad Thai and tofu yellow curry were both amazing. We got level 4 spice and it was really spicy, so would recommend a lower spice level if you have issues with heat. Our family of four just had a delicious lunch here. My kids are 8 and 5 and can be picky. They cleaned their plates and then we got dessert and they cleaned them again! The food is so flavorful and it's very clear it's all made in house. We had wonton soup, basil beef, green curry, pineapple fried rice, and mango cake. Everything was delicious. The service was excellent as well. The dining room is small, maybe 10 tables, and very clean. My kids said this place should get 6 stars and I agree. We will be back! read more

We stopped in at Ruk Thai on a fluke once while we were driving thru Claire. We go back every time we are passing through. The food is fantastic. Fresh, hot and authentically delicious. If you're looking for fantastic Thai food, check them out. If they weren't four hours away from me I'd be eating there weekly at least!! I've been sleeping on this place for too long! The food was excellent for the location and price. I've worked at restaurants and you can tell they're using quality ingredients. It looked like a really cozy seating area too, perfect for a meet up! And last but not least, the service was phenomenal. We wanted to try Ruk Thai which we were pleasantly surprised about how good it was. The pork roll appetizers were delicious and the Pad Thai very tasty and fresh with large pieces of pork. My wife enjoyed the yellow curry and it tasted great. Very. large prices of chicken and spiced well. We go through Clare on way up north. Saw this restaurant on Yelp and so glad I listened to the first review. Awesome, awesome, awesome. Clare is not known for restaurants that serve healthy food. Finally, this place knows how to use fresh, NOT frozen, vegetables. Real mushrooms, green, yellow AND red peppers. Fresh. Fresh carrots. We ordered carry out Pad Pak mild spice and Cashew chicken, mild spice. One with fried rice, one with white. So good. Better than any I have eaten back in Detroit area. This place is legit. The restaurant has a small dining area with about six good sized tables, carpeting on floor, cozy. Super clean. Bathroom was also clean. Kitchen area was sparkling. Nice young chef and man on phones was super helpful and friendly. I didn't have a menu, calling from car, so he suggested items and food was ready in 10 minutes for pick up. Nicely packaged and stayed hot until we got to our cottage 20 min later. Apparently, the restaurant has only been open for ten weeks. It is easy to find, right next to antiques store and bowling alley and across from Clare Family fitness. In a little shopping mall. Good parking. I want this place to succeed. Been in area for over 35 years and tired of fried food, greasy apps, frozen fish, and hamburgers. The food here is lovely. Check out menu I posted. They are also on Facebook. No website yet. We were there on Friday , Jan 27 2023 at 4 pm. Also, portions are not huge so order more than you think. Seeing as they already have five stars, not sure if adding my own five star rating will do anything but I had to do it anyway! We moved to Gladwin a year ago from a more metro area and have really missed the accessibility to really good food. Thai food especially. so for my birthday I lamented about wanting Thai food and so we found this place 40 minutes away with good reviews and decided to give it a shot. We were so pleased with this place and will definitely be back. It is a family run establishment with the wife cooking, the husband and possibly the daughter serving and waiting. They were both so welcoming and friendly, and the husband explained the menu to our family member who had never eaten Thai food before so didn't know what to order. He compared the items to what a somewhat similar item would be in other cuisines so as to have some frame of reference. and he genuinely seemed to care that we had a great experience. To that end, he heard mention that it was my birthday and brought us a piece of cake as a surprise! I haven't had a candle or a cake for my birthday in years so it was super special! Thank you! We sampled the Pork Egg Rolls, Thai Sweet and Spicy Chicken and the Spicy Thai Basil Chicken with the Fried Rice. I look forward to returning and trying a more unique aka less "safe" dish next time. My first visit was so delicious the more authentic dishes must be great!! I do wish they carried more noodle dishes. They only have Pad Thai (which we didn't try) but they did have a variety of noodle soups.
