Food, service and ambiance was all superb. Well worth the year wait to get Chinese as I lived in the U P.

I went in for the lunch buffet. Not much of a variety on the buffet. Everything tasted a little off. The price was high for what they had to offer you. $15. If I want Chinese buffet again I'll just go over to West Branch or Houghton Lake. You guys can do better read more

We ordered take out: Orange Chicken and Chinese fried rice. The orange chicken was not good. It wasn't orange, the sauce. It didn't taste like Orange chicken-it had a sweet sauce on it. The pieces of chicken were dry and very chewy-not very good. We also ordered lomien noodles-they tasted like they had been in the pan for a very long time, we threw those out. First visit to Chee Peng but it won't be our last. Very good flavor to the dishes we tried. I had shrimp & vegtables & it was good with lots of sizable shrimp & nice fresh vegetables. Many choices including PHO (soup) that was also good. The egg drop soup was a bit different but also good for a change. Clean restaurant with attentive waitress & good prices. They also offer a lunch time buffet that we will be trying soon. read more

Just moved up here from down state, not very picky when it comes to Chinese food or any food for that matter. I ordered fried rice and 2 egg rolls, the fried rice was the right color but had a soggy old taste/smell. I really have never written any yelp review before but this place just had to make me create an account and then write this review. We walk in some small kid maybe 7 tells us just to sit wherever, kid was awsome I will come back to him. A young woman maybe 18-20 takes our drink orders, 10 minutes go by the kid comes back and asked us for drink orders we siad that we had already put in drink orders but they just haven't gotten back yet. Our waitress comes back over after the kid leaves and asks us for our food orders. She takes those but we call her back over 5 minutes later asking where our drinks were she states that she forgot to put them in. Drinks are handed out to us by the young boy soon after. He had a tablet taking orders, seating people, etc. Everyone else around us even people who had came in maybe 20 minutes after us have gotten thier food (they were all served by this kid, all 4 of them). We call our waitress over agian asking for our food and turns out she forgot to bring them out. Little boy comes out with our food 4 minutes later. At this point we had been here for almost 2 hours and haven't gotten the Eggrolls we asked for. We call the waitresses over for the final time and ask her to cancel the egg rolls and asked for the bill. She comes back and she apologized for not even putting in the egg rolls for the kitchen to make. The small little boy was wonderful and was an absolute delight very on top of everything, asking us how everything tasted (chicken tasted raw and the only thing good about the food was the eggdrop soup we got but we told him the egg drop soup tasted great that's it), etc. That restaurant dosent deserve that little boy because he was checking people out, greeting them, taking orders (and putting it in) left and right. I wouldn't come here agian because in summary, if you don't get the kid as a waiter you get terrible customer service and don't get your food for almost an hour and a half after it was ordered, the place had this awful smell and table and seats were rocking, and food just tatsed really terrible. read more

The restaurant is set up very oddly, I was there for a take-out order. You have to walk all the way through the dining floor to get the cash register to pay. When you pay they take your money into the back, even though there is a cash register right on the counter that was on. Was told when I placed my order that it would be ready in 20 minutes, more like 30-35. After standing there for 10 minutes with employees ignoring me I got my food. The chicken egg rolls tasted like they were frozen before. The rest of the food was pretty good. read more

Food prices are reasonable, portions are adequate, and the restaurant is clean. Their menu is varied with many choices and the food is equal or surpasses other Chinese restaurants that I have eaten at. Only complaint is take out orders take to long to ready. read more

I used to frequent this place until I moved about 5 years ago. I came back to visit the area and decided to stop in for dinner. BAD IDEA. I don't know what happened to this place. My son and I both ordered orange chicken. What we got was basically over cooked deep fried chicken nugget things that were hard as a rock and tasted a bit off (from the looks of the inside it wasnt even white meat) covered in sauce . NO vegetables or anything else on the plate at all! (besides a bowl of rice on the side.) I used to like this place but I'm sorry to say the food is awful! Absolutely love the food and prices here. Service is already great. Only complaint is the mold in the women's bathroom would throw someone into a major allergic attack, it is so bad smelling and has been there for years. Please fix it! I have told them before about it and it does not get fixed. Only reason they dont get 5 starts. read more

I wish I could like this place more, but compared to other Chinese restaurants, even here in rural Michigan, the food is pretty "meh" -- not bad, mind you, but nothing special. Actually, their egg drop soup is special -- clear, not the starchy and artificially colored glop served in other restaurants -- with a bit of bok choy and scallion along with the ribbony egg for some extra flavor and substance; it' s one of the best I' ve had. The lomein is good. And they have some of the best green tea; I always enjoy that. There is a buffet option, of you wish to try a variety of their more popular dishes. The ambience is pleasant -- it' s one of the nicer restaurants in town -- and the servers and other staff are always polite and friendly. If you are in the area, are craving Asian flavors and don' t want to drive to West Branch, Midland or Mt. Pleasant, this is your best option. read more

Very good Chinese cuisine soups are great shrimp and fried rice excellent. Crab Rangoon are delicious.

I've had lunch here twice and both were good. My go to is chicken fried rice and mom had sweet n sour chicken. We enjoyed both today.

This is the only place to get Chinese food in Gladwin. Which is the Only reason to go. There is a daily buffet, but the food is highly mediocre. Service is good though. read more
