I came here to study during finals week. The food is always pretty good--takes a little bit longer than fast food if you sit inside, but is still quick. The past couple times I've been here, the house music has been really loud and my food has been watery. I know people like the drive-thru and I enjoyed the frozen hot chocolate. Yuck. They were out of everything we wanted. At dinner time on a Saturday. Tried to order a certain sandwich "we are out of that bread." A chicken avocado salad "we are out of avocado." A chicken sandwich "we are out of that chicken." Super frustrating. Especially because we could clearly see a big box of avocados behind the pick up station. And because the cashier was completely uninterested in being there or helping us come up with an alternative. She could have said "we are out of that bread but we can make the sandwich on x y or z bread instead." The salad I did get was disgusting and tasted like feet. Couldn't even finish it. I love Panera Bread and all my friends/family know that. Why the 1 Star review? Because this Panera location is dirty, managed poorly, and if you point out a problem the staff make no effort to correct the situation. I was there on a Monday morning and ordered the steel cut oats power bowl. It comes with quinoa, cinnamon, and sliced almonds. I was the only customer in the restaurant at this time, shortly after 9am. I walked past several tables and finally found one that wasn't dirty. I caught a manager and asked why the tables were so dirty. He said they haven't had time to catch up. I sat down at the table and soon my oatmeal arrived. Unfortunately it wasn't the power bowl I ordered, it had no quinoa. I pointed it out to the manager and he placed his dirty finger down INTO my bowl and said it's all mixed in. I told him I disagree and that there was NO quinoa in the bowl. He did nothing. Back Wednesday and the tables are still not cleaned. I ordered the same power bowl and asked to have the quinoa placed "on the side". Bowl delivered and it was wrong again. No almonds but the quinoa was indeed on the side. Same manager stopped by and asked how it was. I pointed out that they got it wrong again that the quinoa was indeed a different color than the oats and he agreed. I asked why he argued with me during my last visit when I questioned the deficit quinoa? He said, "I thought it was in there." This store needs some serious help. Listen to your customer when we point out that someone should probably clean the tables. Both visits the tables were never cleaned after I brought it to his attention. Nobody wants to eat at filthy and dirty tables. Don't shortcut cleaning the tables by wiping everything from the table into the floor. When the customer points out the order is wrong DON'T argue with the customer - - - CORRECT THE PROBLEM! I love Panera just not this location. Trust. read more

$6 beverages are too much. The service is fine. But $30 for two half sandwiches (so one sandwich) and 2 beverages it too much. It better be fresh off the farm cooking at that rate. Let me start by saying I love Panera compared to many choices in town, and we go probably 3-4 times throughout the week. However, this location is unable to get an order correct-I mean they never fail!! Tonight I got the wrong size salad, wrong size drink and wrong side. Yes, you would think I'd just gotten another order. No, it was meant to be mine. They always correct the order (if you catch it before you leave), but they need some serious improvement. This is definitely one of the better Panera chains that I have been to! It is clean and the food tends to come out well-made and the proper temperature. In recent years it seems like most of these establishments have gone downhill but this location is an exception. read more

I can't rate this Panera location higher than o e star, because the place is consistently dirty. Today, there were a majority of tables that had not been cleaned with trash all over them. I was pleasantly surprised when visiting this Panera. I was promptly greeted with a smile when I entered. When taking my order they were entirely focused on the customer. What I appreciated most was the busing service at this Panera. I had not had that any other Panera location before. I did not feel rushed for my meal, but it felt like more of a restaurant. My only complaint was that the Wi-Fi was a little slow. Overall I was impressed with the clean restaurant and the friendliness of the staff here. I am such a Panera fan but this location consistently disappoints. My order alternates between the turkey avacado BLT, mac n cheese, and chicken Caesar salad. It seems that no matter what I get, something is messed up. My sandwich always comes completely disassembled, as if someone just took the ingredients and thrown them into the box. The Mac n cheese is nearly always cold. The Caesar tends to have bad pieces of chicken and lettuce. It's super disappointing to go to a chain restaurant that you love but not get the same meal you would at another location. I'm not going to give up yet cause I just love Panera so much but I'm getting close! read more

I got my usual Mac n Cheese, and the noodles we not cooked all the way, it was not at all creamy, and the to go container was only filled 2/3 way. Ordered two full Chicken Caesar salads w/out croutons and extra dressing at drive thru...when I took items out at home, neither salad had any chicken or extra dressing and one had croutons and one was half salad. I was charged for two full Chicken Caesar salads. I called and was told could drive all the way back. I declined and was told I would receive a credit in the mail (I gave my address to manager), never received anything. Look. It's a Panera, exactly like all the other Paneras in all the Panera land. In terms of the menu, you know exactly what you're going to walk into here. This is where you go when you want to drown your sorrows in carbs, but then you also order a thing of soup or something so you don't feel as much shame about it. Aside from the menu though, which is average+, this is actually a really nice Panera, as Paneras go. It's kind of nicely remodeled, and they do table service/busing which I appreciate. This Panera always delivers on delicious food! I usually alternate between the turkey avocado BLT, chipotle chicken avocado melt (when in season), broccoli cheddar soup, and greek salad. They are about 30 minutes from our Lake House so when we get here we are expecting a lot. I haven't been let down but my husband has several times. He just sticks to the soup in a bread bowl from this location when ever I can talk him into going. read more

Food is the same as every Panera, quality control, not so much. I've been here several times and I always order the same thing - boring I know - yet I have only received the same order twice. Every other time I have come I am given something either completely different from what I ordered or it's only half of my order or it's half of a completely different sandwich. And NOTHING makes you more upset than when you leave the drive through and don't realize they made a mistake until you are all the way back to the office...Panera you have ruined my lunch/day for the last time! read more

I was going to give this one five stars because I saw staff giving bread to an indigent couple who'd come in looking for food -- good for you, staff -- but we've also experienced uneven and not particularly friendly service here. Being from out of town, we were all excited to eat at Panera since we don't have one where we live. We were all sadly disappointed. Yes, Panera is good, but overrated and expensive for what you get. Also, they were out of everything! Bread bowls, chips, Mac & cheese, and a few more things!!! How can Panera be out of bread bowls!?!? I ended up getting the flat bread sandwiches, which reminded me of Lean Cuisine flat bread sandwiches, and it even came out on white cardboard just like Lean Cuisine. For $8, it wasn't worth it bc it was pre-made, frozen, and then thrown in the microwave. And how can Panera be out of bread bowls!! read more

As a former Panera employee, I was very excited to visit my new local Panera since I had come to college in Mt. Pleasant. I love Panera's menu and even after over a year of working there, I have never gotten sick of the food. When we walked in, there weren't any details that irked me yet. Then we approached the zombie at the register, who obviously was not enthusiastic to be there. I understand not every food worker will be excited to be at their job. And sometimes people just have bad days. But at my Panera, our management was so good that we all greeted our customers with smiling faces. We were happy to be serving such great food! This man was not. After a grueling ordering process, my friends and I found a table. One of my friends orders was wrong, and it tasted bad to him as well. Mine was not made wrong, but the soup was discolored, (I've served it many times, I know what broccoli cheddar is supposed to look like.) It was verging on brown instead of yellow. One bite into it and I knew something was wrong. It may have just been sitting or something? I'm not sure what causes broccoli cheddar to turn brownish. My sandwich was soggy, like it had been sitting behind the counter for a little too long. Long story short, this Panera was pretty gross. I'm sad that I won't be able to eat my favorite foods while I'm up at college but I'm not risking it. I would never eat at this location again unless it was under new management. read more

Panera's has never failed me when I want fresh tasting food. The breads and other baked goods have always been freshly baked. The soups and sandwiches also taste fresh and wholesome with good quality ingredients. I do think that the soups may be reconstituted, though. Broccoli cheese and tomato are my favorites. read more

I am a die hard Panera Bread fan and was so thrilled when one came to Mt. Pleasant. If you dine in, this establishment is fine. They are very thorough with their dine in customers. However, if you go through the drive thru, your order is wrong in some fashion almost every time. Whether it's a forgotten baguette, chips, cream cheese, whatever, it's disappointing every time it happens. First off, I love Panera. It is one of my favorite places to eat if not my absolute favorite. When I moved to Mount Pleasant I was so happy to see there was a Panera right by campus. The staff is very friendly and the place is clean. However, I had to leave this review in regards to the food. Everything has tasted great as it always does but the presentation is inconsistent and just sad. I order the same salad every time I eat here and each time it is made differently. Either multiple components are forgotten or the size is either very large or very tiny. I once ordered my salad (green goddess Cobb with chicken) and it consisted of a small handful of romaine lettuce (not the kind of lettuce it is supposed to have), tomatoes, bacon, and onion. There was no chicken, avocado, or egg. If they had ran out of the ingredients they should have just told me before I ordered the salad so I could've gotten something else that had all of the components.Any time I order a sandwich I have to re-assemble it myself because it is sort of just "slopped" together. The turkey is in one big clump and the lettuce and avocado aren't even in the sandwich just hanging out on the plate or in the tissue packaging. I love Panera so I continue to eat here but each time I become more and more disappointed with this location. I understand that it gets busy and workers may not have a lot of time to assemble things but it's gotten so bad I just had to leave this review (I've never left a review before). read more

Look, I get it's a Panera, and what that generally entails. But this location provided both service and food several standard deviations below what you'd usually expect from Panera. WORST PANERA EVER. I have worked at a panera before so I have an understanding for order mess-ups, confused workers, dirty dinning area, etc. However not for ever single visit. The girls at the front never know what they're talking about or even the managers! My boyfriend wanted double meat on his Italian combo sandwich and the girl and her manager claimed they could not do that without adding an extra meat charge for each meat adding around $10 when there is a button for all extra meat that only adds around $2, even if they didn't have this button since you don't get four slices of meat for every kind of meat on this sandwich they should of offered to charge us for 2 extra meats then told the line to add all of them. This restaurant is filthy, floor is disgusting and tables are never wiped off, didn't even come during busy times so I'm very confused on why its never clean, it takes 5 min to clean up the dinning room. Plus I have never really received a correct order I always get the wrong side, the wrong bread, missing avocado (I don't eat meat and Im a college student so I need my protein and what I pay for), and if your store is out of something you need to ask the customer what they want instead! The one time you got our order right there was a long blonde hair right through the sandwich. I also don't like the way the manager with brown hair and glasses handled the hair she was just like "okay" when I showed her, I had to ask for the refund. Its really easy to have good customer service. This is so pathetic and disappointing I will have to be contacting I will be contacting the highest up manager at the store, the district manager, and maybe even Food and Safety Inspection Services.
