It was pretty good food. The waitress was great. But the rest of the service was subpar. The hostess took our information (table for 2) and then someone came in behind us and told her that they were going to have 7. Instead of seating us at one of the clean tables, another table was cleared and the people behind us were seated and then 5 minutes later, we were seated. We were served quickly and efficiently, by a different waiter than our waitress. He forgot our side of biscuits and gravy. When we got that, the gravy was lukewarm and the biscuits were cold and rock hard. We sent it back and when we got it back the biscuits were nice and warm and soft, under phenominally cold gravy. The manager was nice enough to take it off our bill. read more

Food was ok, but the service was horrible, server was rude. And it was really hot and muggy inside. Our table was by the thermostat and it said it was 82 degrees. read more

The Delectable Egg - Downtown - Temp inside the restaurant. Asked if the ac was broke and server said I don't think so.. - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - Denver, Colorado

We went here twice while we were in town for a convention because all the hotel offered was cereal and oatmeal and f that noise. I wanted eggs. The first morning I ordered a savory crepe and asked for no onions... but alas, onions. I powered through it and picked them out like the complacent midwesterner I am but was still left with a pretty mediocre breakfast crepe with very little chicken. Whatever. It's a diner. It's fine. I'm not expecting champagne and steak frites. Just eggs. Second morning I decide to go totally on menu. No exclusions. No changes. They still managed to leave avocado off a dish that boasts avocado and gave me home fries instead of hash browns. This day, this day I spoke up. I got back a plate that they had just scraped some of the home fries off of and tossed on a couple slices of avocado. After I'd almost finished eating the Benedict anyway I was brought out a plate of oily, underdone hash browns. Le sigh. But the coffee was okay and they leave the carafe at the table so that's a perk... And all the waitstaff knows how to smile. They will smile very pleasantly as they do not get your order correct. read more

The service was not good. Took too long for server to bring us our first water and beverage. Seemed annoyed when we asked questions. Food was luke warm and she never checked on us. Disappointed because I think this place has potential. Unfortunately I won't be returning on my next trip to Denver. read more

I really like The Delectable Egg, but this location is not my favorite. I think it's a little small and dingy and the service is seriously slow, but the menu is the same and the food is still pretty tasty! read more

The absolute worst meal my husband and I have had in our entire life! At first the waiter look at us like we had ten heads when we asked for the special drink that was on the board outside and inside ...so we got different ones, but not 15min later another waiter confirmed they did have them and got them for us. What?! We were at a table for 8 and when we got our gross food she said oops she forgot to put in my husbands order it will be right out. He clearly confirmed again no sour cream and that it came with tomatoes. Neither happened. First I looked at my food and said wow it even looks disgusting (crab cake Benedict what was I thinking). The eggs were overcooked, hard, and cold, they forgot I asked for avocado, and instead of potatoes I asked for a side salad, great, but it had ham mixed in. What basic salad comes with ham? It took ridiculously long to get another plain salad and avo, but I didn't have the heart to send back my whole plate so I hate the hard cold eggs and English muffing with some lettuce... my husband said his meal was bland and gross too. The rest of the day our stomachs hurt and we could barely eat dinner we were still so grossed out. I didn't even tell you about the straight sugar drinks. Only 2 of the 6my table had tasted ok... I'm done ranting... just still grossed out and obviously never going back. read more

Great place for brunch on the weekends. Warm and friendly staff and excellent huevos rancheros and bloody Mary's!

I had the cowboy Benedict and it was yummy! The service was great! I love gravy and really loved the gravy on my Benedict!

Anna was our server today. We enjoyed the huevos rancheros with hash browns. French toast with Nutella is delicious! Give it a try. I recommend everyone come to the delectable egg. read more

The coffee is like water, the onions were completely uncooked, the toast had so much butter on it that it looked like melted cheese (until I touched it), and the salsa was served hot and I was charged it it!!!! read more

There was a mix up with my Uber eats order, not a big deal. I called the restaurant and was very patient, mix ups happen. The manager, Lauren, chewed me out telling me to take it up with Uber eats, my Uber eats driver called me to apologize because they had given my order to someone else and he mentioned Lauren gave him an earful as well. I called the restaurant again to check in and Lauren, continued to let me have it then literally hung up on me.....mistakes happen I totally understand that, but being treated this way by management? There is absolutely no excuse for this. I've been in the service industry for years on and off and would never speak to someone this way. I wouldn't be surprised if this manager is the reason this branch of Delectable Egg has the lowest rating. Absolutely appalling. read more

One of the worst tasting breakfasts I've had in years. The bacon was burnt to a crisp. The breakfast potato's tasted like there was some type of chemical in them. Couldn't peg what it was but I only had a few bites. And the coffee also tasted burnt. Thank god for the vanilla creamer that I had to pick off a neighboring table because the server just dumped a bunch of plan stuff on our table. Service was fine. Everything just tasted ashy. Almost like things haven't been cleaned. UPDATE**** 3 1/2 hours and both my fiancé and I are sick... I threw up and we both have severe stomach issues... read more

Great place for breakfast! I ordered the quiche Loraine crepe, it was hot and delicious! The latte was great! And service with a smile

I was pleasantly surprised at how great the food and service was. I will definitely be returning.

Great place for breakfast. I ate like a king here. I'd come back when I'm back in town.

Yum Yum. We were looking for someplace to have breakfast this AM and I'm glad we walked around and found this great breakfast spot. We both had omelets and were very pleased. The staff was super friendly and prompt and the food real breakfast food. Give this place a visit while you're in town. read more

Good service and I'm sure some of the other dishes are good, but I wouldn't recommend the fall Chorizo & Sweet Potato special. I sincerely had difficulty finding any chorizo and the dish had almost no flavor at all. read more

I loved eating here when I lived in Denver. The servers were so attentive they remembered my name, the food fresh and cooked to perfection, and the place was clean. What more can you ask for of a busy little breakfast spot? read more

Great food! Good value for the price and very friendly staff! Must visit!

Me and my friends visited this place on our first morning in Denver. It was a great way to start our trip. Everything that we ordered tasted very good. I got an egg whites omelet with lots of veggies, toast, and fruits. My friend got a pancake that was out of this world; light and fluffy and full of comforting flavor. The portions were big and the prices were low, which is always a good combination. Our waiter was very friendly and the food arrived a lot quicker than I expected. read more

This place is like the epitome of average. Pretty good food, average service, priced alright. There were boring paintings on the wall, it was really quiet and busy at the same time (which, for some reason, is off-putting to me unless I'm in a bookstore) and you pay the check at the host stand which always makes me feel like I'm at a Greek Diner in Brooklyn (which isn't necessarily a bad thing). No booze, giant menu, very clean. This place gets a an emphatic "eh". read more

We ran into this cute little breakfast place while walking near the 16th street mall. The food was awesome, the waitress was very good, and the price was reasonable. I would definitely recommend. read more

On a quiet Sunday morning my wife and I visited The Delectable Egg. The dining room lacks theme and character. Your basic breakfast food can be found here but done well. Ordered the Denver omelette with a side of pancakes. Wife had the portobello eggs Benedict. We both were satisfied with the taste and overall meal. A personal coffee pot on the table is worth a "star" by itself. Eat here for your usual breakfast food and coffee at your fingertips. read more

Visited denver from AZ for Great American Beer Fest. This place was PACKED. Though there was a line basically going out the door, we were seated within 10 minutes, and got our food maybe 15 minutes after ordering. Everything tasted very fresh - had the Belgian waffle with two eggs and sausage. The sausage tasted so natural and not the garbage kind you find in the supermarket, it was great. The waffle was also outstanding, with a crisp outside and a fluffy inside. Prices were very competitive - similar to what you would pay for breakfast at denny's, but a hundered times better. read more

Good breakfast at decent price. Would call this place "solid"-you get what you'd expect, in a good way. Cozy, eclectic atmosphere. Multiple locations make this place convenient from pretty much anywhere in the downtown Denver area. Good coffee, and love that they give you the whole pot for the table. Love the California Benedict-ask to add Swiss cheese, makes it much better. read more

So this place was a miss from the start. Called them and asked specifically how long the wait was, told there was no wait. Walking up to the place 2 minutes after, there are clearly tons of people waiting. Called the guy out on it and he goes everyone literally just walked up. Clearly not when you say a 20 minute wait. Finally get seated and and place our order to watch 3 tables seated after us get their food before us. Food was mediocre, especially for the price. Highly wouldn't recommend this place. It's maybe slightly better than a Denny's. read more

This is just your typical breakfast place. Nothing too out of the ordinary. I had french toast with two over easy eggs and sausage. The staff was great, the prices were reasonable and the wait time for food was excellent. We were in and out in about 30 minutes! read more

Just had the worst experience - over 40 minute wait for food. The manager's response was even more pitiful (they had a new kitchen staff). Pretty sad because their food is pretty good. Definitely not going back! read more

After waiting over an hour after ordering we realized that no one was eating in the restaurant. Everyone's head would turn as delivery food was walked past in-house customers to delivery app drivers standing in the doorway. A full restaurant with no one eating is actually embarrassing. We joined many other tables in getting up and leaving after not being served in a reasonable amount of time. read more

Me and a friend came for a late breakfast on our visit to Denver on Saturday. When we arrived, we were greeted promptly and sat a table. The atmosphere is pretty normal and open. Nothing too spectacular but those types of things don't bother me too much as long as the food is good. Our initial server was very nice and was quick to check on us when we first arrived. I ordered the Sausage Gravy and biscuits while he ordered the Portabella Egg's Benedict and a side of French Toast. The food came pretty quick and without any problems. The only thing I did not like was the fact that there were multiple servers assisting us. I know this may seem like a stupid thing to not like but it always makes me feel bad on who gets the tips (even though they eventually may split them anyway). For $8.25 I got a very large plate of food. Eggs, House Breakfast Potatoes, and two large homemade biscuits smothered in sauasage gravy. The food was really really good! My friend really thought the Portabella Eggs benedict was one of the best he has ever had. And at $10, you can't beat it. The place was so good, we ordered take out the next day as well. read more

Why wait in line @ Snooze when you can go to Delectable Egg on Market Street. I moved downtown Sept 1st and only recently wandered a few blocks to the Egg. What a delight. I was on the fence regarding pancakes, french toast or waffles and the waiter steered me to the brioche french toast. Can't wait to return read more

Visited on Aug 8th...place was busy yet not overwhelmed...My meal was not up to snuff...cold breakfast potatoes, lukewarm hash and the waitress never came by to see if things were alright. Too many other breakfast joints to hit in the area to ever go back. Pass on this place. read more

I will preface that we came on a holiday., but still... The restaurant had a waitlist, but not all the tables were full. Ok... When we called ahead to put our name on the list (was permitted by restaurant), they had no record of our call ahead but were kind to move us to the top of the list. We got seated and it took some time (10 minutes) for our waitress to greet us. When she did she seemed friendly and responsive. We placed our orders and that when everything went down hill. As I said the restaurant was not full to capacity despite folks waiting to be seated. It took OVER 45 minutes for our food to arrive. When it did, it was either undercooked or cold. Cuz no one likes cold eggs, one person asked the manager to have their food remade. The remake came out perfect. Unfortunately, our waitress NEVER came back to check on us or see if there was anything else we needed OR to bring the mimosa a member of our party ordered. The manager did provide a 20% discount. Nevertheless, it was an epically disappointing brunch. read more

Meh. I went here because I had bought one of those half price vouchers. I'm still relatively new to the area so the deal sites are a good excuse to get out and try new places. Walking in from the downtown streets it was quite a shock to see such a down home country kind of setting. There is no outdoor seating which is a bit disappointing in such gorgeous weather but no biggie. The host was very quick to acknowledge us even while finishing up with other customers. The service went downhill from there. The lady who ended up being our server was in no hurry to get to us and felt no need to apologize for the delay once she finally shuffled over. At least there was a carafe of water on the table to keep us busy. We were ready to order by the time she showed up. My boyfriend got their Denver omelette since that appears to be their claim to fame. I ordered the Aspen alley, a skillet dish of eggs veggies and potatoes. The food was nothing special at all. The scrambled eggs seemed over cooked and the presentation seemed thrown together. The portion for the skillet was huge, way more than twice what I could eat but certainly not worth taking home. For two diet cokes and two egg dishes our bill was about $24 before the discount. I think you can find much cheaper breakfast places with better service and better food. I would have had big regrets about paying that much for the quality. There's lots of places that offer $2 mimosas or bloody Mary's with excellent egg dishes for the same price. read more

Aw man, I really wanted to like this place because of its adoorable name and cute design, but I gotta say...mehh. The first time we came, we had an OK (3-star) experience. The food (I got the basic breakfast--eggs, potatoes, toast) was mediocre, and the potatoes were actually quite disappointing :(. It's a little overpriced here for OK food, but as I said, it was alrighht. The second time we came, the dining area was SO stuffy. I have no idea why, but it sucked. I ordered the basic breakfast again (I'm really simple when it comes to breakfast) but asked for hashbrowns instead of potatoes. They came out crispy and burnt. SIGH I'm so sad. My friends were also disappointed with their meals, and we left all-around underwhelmed. Nooo :(. Go to Syrup instead? read more

Ate here this morning for first time. Excellent food, very nice waitress(Teresa), and all staff pleasant and smiling. Had the Smart Rooster - two pieces of whole wheat french toast, egg whites with tomatoes and mushrooms and a grilled chicken breast for $8.95. It was very good. Looking around at all the meals, they looked great and all seem happy. Will definitely be back! read more

Popped in here for breakfast today (Thursday morning around 9am) before catching a flight back home. It's a cute little place and I was seated immediately. My server was James and he was great! I never needed anything and he let me take my time and enjoy my breakfast. I didn't feel rushed at all. The coffee was pretty good and I like that the water carafe stays on your table. I ordered the biscuits and gravy with two eggs, house potatoes, and an added side of chorizo. I'm a southern girl, and was skeptical of the gravy at first, but it was pretty good. The biscuits were nice and fluffy and the bottoms weren't hard as a rock, which I find some places tend to do. My eggs were a perfect over medium, and the chorizo patties were good and spicy. The only thing I didn't like were the house potatoes. They were just bland. If I'm back in the area, I will go back but probably opt for the hash browns instead of house potatoes. read more
